00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Designers, for this challenge,
00:05you'll be designing a red carpet look for a celebrity.
00:09It's Heidi.
00:11Welcome to the workroom, Heidi.
00:13Maya has something very important to share with you.
00:16So I've decided to leave the competition.
00:19Oh, my God.
00:21Maya's place will need to be filled.
00:23Here she is, boys!
00:26I have a second chance at greatness.
00:30We have two winners.
00:33Emilio, I really can't wait to wear it on the red carpet.
00:36Anthony, I would actually like to wear your dress.
00:40Jonathan, this was another effort that fell short of your talent.
00:45You're out.
00:46Jay?
00:47I'm going to choose Brittany.
00:49I'm sorry, Carrie, that means you're out.
00:51Are you sure there's time now?
00:53This is Project Runway.
00:56The winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread
00:59in Marie Claire magazine.
01:00An opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com.
01:03The $50,000 technology suite to create, design, and run their business
01:07from HP and Intel.
01:09And $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to launch their line.
01:12Get up, Sleeved.
01:13Good morning.
01:14Good morning.
01:15Good morning.
01:16Good morning.
01:17To you.
01:18Being one of the winners of the last challenge obviously feels wonderful.
01:31Pinch me right here.
01:33I have to maintain the same thought process that allowed me to design the last gown, but
01:40pump up the volume.
01:42Emilio.
01:43Yes.
01:44Welcome to a morning at home with Anthony.
01:49Hi.
01:50This is the final challenge.
01:52This is what we've all been working for.
01:55Bryant Park is going to be my defining moment.
01:58I'm still kind of reeling at the mere fact that I am in the last five and that this is the
02:04last challenge.
02:05The stakes are higher than ever right now and there's definitely a lot of pressure,
02:10but I'm just trying to visualize that I am the finalist on Project Runway showing your
02:15collection of Bryant Park.
02:16Put your face on, your purses, and let's go.
02:21Parsons, here we come.
02:31Hello.
02:32Hi.
02:33And then there were five.
02:38This challenge will decide who goes to Fashion Week.
02:41How do you feel about that?
02:42Wow.
02:43Scary as hell.
02:45Excited.
02:46You all deserve to be here.
02:49For your next challenge, I'm going to send you to a tent.
02:52It may not be Bryant Park tent, but hopefully it will help you get there.
02:57Tim will meet you there to fill you in on all of the details.
03:00Good luck, and I'll see you on the runway.
03:04Bye.
03:05Bye.
03:06Lord Jesus, something rugged is going to happen.
03:08I'm like, I don't have rugged clothes.
03:10You do not wear Gucci drivers to the mountains.
03:14We arrive at the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus.
03:27Oh, my God.
03:30Lord help me.
03:33Lord help me.
03:44Oh, Lord.
03:50Who's on the runway now?
03:52Welcome to Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus.
03:56The greatest show on earth is putting on a special show just for you.
04:01Woo!
04:04Your challenge is to create a high-end runway look inspired by the circus.
04:10Awesome.
04:11Your inspiration can come from anything or everything that you see here today, so take it all in.
04:17This is so amazing.
04:18I was hoping it would be circus because the circus is just full of inspiration.
04:22So enjoy the show.
04:25Ladies and gentlemen, designers of all ages, welcome to Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey,
04:34the greatest show on earth!
04:52And she's going to vomit.
05:01I think there's about eight topless guys, and all I could do is like stare at every single one of them
05:08because they had such amazing bodies.
05:14This is like a whirlwind of explosion.
05:17I mean, it's crazy.
05:18There's clowns.
05:19There's some funny-ass clowns.
05:21There's motorcycles going all around this cage, every direction.
05:26I don't need to know what to expect next.
05:30It's just overwhelming.
05:31I'm a kid all over again.
05:33Designers, I'm going to give you 30 minutes to sketch, okay?
05:43It's relatively easy to create a circus costume.
05:45It's a lot harder to create fashion inspired by the circus.
06:00So you need to think fashion, okay?
06:03And your 30 minutes starts now.
06:09What I took from the circus is the use of stripes and polka dots.
06:13Black, white, cranberry, and playing with scale.
06:18I have experience with circus clothing, being in the theater, so that's what's going to set me apart from my other contestants.
06:27I am most mesmerized by the ringleader himself, not just because of his amazing tail coat, but because of his larger-than-life presence.
06:36So I decided to go with a coat, a blouse, and a pair of pants.
06:41The acrobat came out in this kind of grayish-blue swirl print.
06:46She was just throwing herself everywhere.
06:48I was like, work!
06:49And I knew in that moment, this is my inspiration.
06:52I fell in love with the clowns.
06:56I just like the idea of how exaggerated they look.
06:59So I'm creating big pleats, big waistbands, and paired back to a really beautiful jacket.
07:06You could go any direction.
07:08This is so over the top.
07:10You need to extract elements from this, colors from this, and bring it down to a fashion level.
07:17Designers, sketching time is up.
07:20Let's head off to Mood.
07:25Designers, you have $300 and 30 minutes to shop.
07:29The success of this challenge begins and ends here at Mood.
07:33Your 30 minutes begins now.
07:39This is our last challenge.
07:41There's five of us left.
07:43I'm that close to Bryant Park.
07:47I'm looking for a menswear-inspired texture.
07:51I need leather.
07:52I need black leather.
07:53And this gold trim that I'm going to use for the tabs that I'm going to create for the jacket.
07:57Maybe with a gold fabric?
08:00I know I'm looking for stripes, so I want to see every stripe they have.
08:04I like this.
08:05And then I found one piece, and then everything just fell into place.
08:09That's the silhouette that I'm going for.
08:10Anthony, this is the final.
08:12You need to turn up the volume.
08:14This is my last opportunity to wow the judges.
08:19Right now, I think that my destiny is in Bryant Park, because if it wasn't, I wouldn't be here right now.
08:25It's time.
08:26No more shopping.
08:27Mila, just cutting only.
08:33I'm excited about this.
08:34I've been knocking them out.
08:35Bam, bam, bam, bam.
08:36That's why you're still here?
08:37Yeah.
08:38All right.
08:39Thanks, Liz.
08:40Thank you for everything.
08:47All right, designers.
08:48Your last challenge in this work room.
08:51You have two days for this challenge.
08:53Yes!
08:54Woo!
08:55Woo!
08:56Make it work, everybody.
09:03I'm so glad that we have two days on this, because I feel like, you know, I can be more ambitious with what I'm doing.
09:09And then that's red leather, and then she has the boots.
09:12I love what I sketch, and so I'm going to translate that to life without changing it or compromising too much.
09:19Everybody has black, white, some form of stripes, red, gold, yellow.
09:26And I am the only person with, like, this really different color palette.
09:29I pray that my look gets me to Bryant Park.
09:32Okay, Fabric, talk to me.
09:34Talk to daddy.
09:35I think this is the one challenge that everyone needs to put it all out there.
09:40Can't get too cost to me, that's the thing.
09:42Come hard or go home.
09:44There's no second chances.
09:46You gotta come hard.
09:47I know I came with one purpose, and that was to win it all.
09:51I'm not trying to be shy about it.
09:55No, you're not shy about it.
09:57What?
09:58What are you trying to say?
09:59You mention it frequently.
10:03Emilio is quite confident, you know, because he's won so many challenges.
10:07I'm going to showstopper.
10:09When she comes out of that runway, I want people to pee on themselves.
10:13But he also, because of his frequent wins, it's like every time he wins, I go, oh, my God, his ego is getting bigger and bigger.
10:20Now it's like a choo-choo train.
10:22I'm rolling.
10:24I mean, enough is enough.
10:26I mean, we all want it, but you don't have to gloat constantly.
10:30I'm trying to be nice to Mila.
10:32So when I win at Bryant Park, she won't feel so bad.
10:35Don't do.
10:37Coming up on Project Runway.
10:39Emilio just had a viewing party.
10:41Of course you did.
10:42Badass.
10:43Bad bitch.
10:45I went to the circus.
10:48Where's the color?
10:49Any direction I go in, I'm wrong.
10:51And I'm making a top hat.
10:53This isn't cutting it.
10:55Okay.
10:56You gotta have, like, a yard stick.
10:57I might as well stick my ass on my fabric and measures.
11:10What a douche.
11:12Thank you, Emilio Sol.
11:16This last challenge determines who will show at Bryant Park.
11:21There's definitely a lot of pressure, and it would be so disappointing to not make it and be this close to Bryant Park.
11:30We actually made it.
11:31We're the final five.
11:32You know, so we're all feeling like, you know, everybody wants to bring on their best game.
11:36You want to see from this side?
11:39You felt at the white end?
11:41Mm-hmm.
11:42But I love it.
11:43Wow.
11:45Emilio's working on his dress.
11:46It looks beautiful.
11:48He just had a viewing party.
11:50Of course he did.
11:51How is everyone?
11:55Well, I'm going to walk around and see how you're doing and engage with you for a few minutes, okay?
12:00Sounds great.
12:01All right.
12:02Seth Aaron.
12:03Tim, how are you?
12:04I was most inspired by the ringmaster.
12:07Oh, yeah.
12:08As well as the jugglers.
12:09I want to go extravagant.
12:11I want to make a factor.
12:12I want to make him say, what the hell is he doing?
12:14So I'm going to do a long coat, and I'm going to accent it with boning so it gets waves.
12:19Okay.
12:20This is all going to flare out.
12:21Okay.
12:22Really extravagant.
12:23And in the front, I do want to do a tie, and I'm making a top hat.
12:30All right.
12:32Well, let me ask you this question.
12:34How do you imagine styling this for the runway with the coat?
12:37Is the coat a powerful statement?
12:38The coat is my key piece.
12:39Right.
12:40So I'll start with my key piece.
12:41So can I just ask you to think about this?
12:44No costume.
12:45Oh, no, no, no costume.
12:47It's you.
12:48No question about that.
12:49All right.
12:50Thank you, Seth Aaron.
12:52Go, go, go.
12:53Have a great day.
12:54Hi, Tim.
12:55This fabric is staggering.
12:56Why don't you see the front?
12:59I'm engineering it so it's, I'm losing all the white in the bodice up to the high hip,
13:06and then it's going to explode into a Watto back.
13:10Is this the only way that you're using this cranberry color?
13:13No, that's going to be the bone bodice and then the lining of the skirt on the inside.
13:17Basically, this is a black and white look.
13:19You went to the circus.
13:20Where is the color?
13:24What I got out of the circus was, of course, the stripe and the polka dots.
13:27I didn't want to do the color.
13:28I wanted to extract the color.
13:30But Emilio, this is your opportunity to use color.
13:33We want to see you embrace more color.
13:34But I've done color all along.
13:36I've never done black and white.
13:37I've always done color.
13:38I've never done something black and white, Tim.
13:40All right, but the last win, somber.
13:43Somber?
13:44Somber.
13:45All right, Emilio.
13:48But I'm confident that this is going to be a showstopper.
13:52I'm delighted to hear that.
13:55Great.
13:56Okay, thanks, Emilio.
13:57Trust me, I got this.
14:00Hi, Tim.
14:01I felt a little left out when I got back to the work room
14:04and realized everybody kind of went into black and white and red and yellow.
14:07Don't feel left out.
14:08You'll stand out.
14:09Well, yeah, but my concern is pumping up the volume.
14:15I am not exactly sure about my sketch because it wasn't too long ago that you said pump up the volume.
14:20But I know before I can build the dress, I got to have a good foundation.
14:24You too.
14:25So I'm just prepping everything and then I'll start working, putting the pieces all together.
14:31Let your visceral rule.
14:33If it doesn't feel right, it's not right.
14:35Well, Tim, I'm ready.
14:37If you feel like you're forcing things, then they're probably contrivances and they're not right.
14:42All right.
14:43Tim, I thought all I needed were my design books to prepare for this show.
14:46But I'm going to go get me a dictionary just as sure as I get back to Georgia.
14:51Thank you for everything, Tim.
14:52Thank you, Anthony.
14:54Hi.
14:55Hi.
14:56How are you, Mila?
14:57Good.
14:58I am going with a coat.
15:00And this is the beginning of it with this interesting fabric.
15:04And I like that it's shiny.
15:05I do, too.
15:06I like the coating.
15:07Because I think it's going to make a presence.
15:08It makes it modern, too.
15:09Exactly.
15:10It kind of makes it more me, I think.
15:12I'm going to do these ivory panels down the front.
15:15You should ditch this ivory.
15:17This, for me, just isn't cutting it.
15:20I'm being blunt because it's our last challenge.
15:23I know.
15:24Well, no, I appreciate it.
15:25The other part is that I'm using the large stripe in the back.
15:29I'm thinking chevron and pleated.
15:31I think if you're doing that, use it in the front as well in some manner.
15:35Oh, yeah.
15:36That could be kind of fun.
15:37It could be.
15:38Okay.
15:39Okay, Tim.
15:41Thank you, Mila.
15:42Thanks a lot.
15:43Mr. J, talk to me.
15:44I wanted to combine the ringleader with the clowns.
15:47I like how exaggerated they look.
15:49This is kind of like the oversized pant that I'm working on.
15:51Mm-hm.
15:52It's tweed, and then I'm using, like, leather trims to trim them.
15:57So what's with the jacket?
15:59It's really detailed.
16:01As a strong color point of view, it's just the red, the gold, and the black.
16:07It's like, I want this to look badass.
16:09Okay.
16:10Yeah.
16:11Badass.
16:12Good.
16:13Bad bitch.
16:14Is there a good bitch?
16:15I'm a good bitch.
16:18On that note, thank you, Jay.
16:20Thank you, Tim.
16:21Designers, it looks like we're going to have five big wow moments on that runway.
16:26And what's more exciting than that?
16:27Yes.
16:28All right.
16:29So work hard.
16:30You have until midnight tonight.
16:31And I will see you tomorrow.
16:32Okay?
16:33Thank you, Tim.
16:34Have a good night.
16:35You too.
16:36See you tomorrow.
16:38Here we go, yo.
16:39I still have a lot to do.
16:41This is my last chance to wow the judges.
16:43So it's got to be pretty special.
16:46This is the last one they see.
16:48You better bring the heat.
16:50That means my whole dress is going to take a different shape.
16:53Are you changing midstream?
16:55The foundation is staying the same.
16:56Okay.
16:57This is so weird.
16:58Like, any direction I go in, I'm wrong.
17:00It's not that I can't crank this dress out.
17:02It's just that I'm just, like, a prisoner in my mind almost.
17:06I'm scared I might be setting myself up for failure.
17:09Get your skirt to where you want it and then the bodice will come to you.
17:12Just when you think you have enough time.
17:28Let's sew!
17:29Woo!
17:32First thing I do is alter my bodice.
17:35I went to sleep thinking about my design and I woke up thinking about my design.
17:39And the only thing I think in my mind is how to make it better.
17:42This garment means so much to me that words cannot express.
17:47The fact that I'm still sitting here working on a garment is just like, oh, oh.
17:52Not only we get to present our last pieces, but we get to see our families.
17:57Yes.
17:58Soon.
17:59I know.
18:01I know.
18:02A lot of people believe in me.
18:03My friends, family, and for some reason, I've never really pushed myself.
18:08Now that I'm realizing what I can do, I want it to be dramatic.
18:13I want it to look like it's going to go on a high-end runway show.
18:18Yeah.
18:19I'm so excited.
18:20I'm going to finish this jacket tonight for you.
18:21It looks really cool in the back.
18:22I'm so happy it's standing up straight.
18:23Mila's outfit, I like it, but I'm on the fence.
18:36I'm not so crazy about the shiny, shiny.
18:38The jacket's shiny, the pants are shiny.
18:41That's like putting a whole lot of bling and bam, all in one thing.
18:44Once I had the dress on Lorena, we realized that it did need a little extra pop of color.
18:50Fortunately, I had this stripe that was perfect for it.
18:54Oh, I think it's beautiful.
18:56I see a lot of costumes in the room.
18:58I don't think that I have a costume.
18:59I think that I have a beautiful gown that is functional and that is editorial from different angles.
19:05I'm seeing that some brand fun.
19:06I love it.
19:07Okay.
19:08I'm happy.
19:09Tomorrow's the last one.
19:11Thank you, babe.
19:12Bye.
19:13Bye.
19:14See you, too.
19:15Later.
19:16Well, that's that.
19:17Oh, there you have it.
19:19Oh, you're making a Michael Jackson coat.
19:22I was a little bit scared when I heard that comment.
19:26I'm not sure if they're being sarcastic or they're just being funny, but, you know, I question myself.
19:31They'll have buttons.
19:32It's looking a little bit Michael Jackson.
19:35It's not Michael Jackson.
19:36I am just not a big fan of Jay's style.
19:39Mmm.
19:40Coming up on Project Runway.
19:41I'm expecting, like, the grand poobah of runway shows.
19:46So, let's get it on.
19:47Let's bring the show on.
19:49Let's get it on.
19:50Let's bring the show on.
20:00This morning, I feel a little nostalgic and emotional about that this is the last runway show.
20:07I'm nervous as hell, but I'm also relieved.
20:11I feel like I'm going to be okay.
20:14I feel like I'm going to go to Fashion Week.
20:20Time should go, right?
20:22I know I have a lot to do, but I'm focused.
20:25I have my list in my head of what has to happen and at what time.
20:30And I need to just get in there and get to work.
20:34Leave it for and return as for.
20:40This is the only day in this competition that I have butterflies.
20:52I feel nervous.
20:53This is the point.
20:54The make it or break it point.
20:55And to go all the way through, never have a bad critique from Tim.
20:58To get to the last one and then just bomb out.
21:02Just shoot me.
21:05When I'm done with this dress, I want the judges to say, wow, this is the dress of the season.
21:14I want them to see the craftsmanship, the artistry, the whimsy, the sexiness.
21:21I'm putting everything that I am about into this one dress.
21:29Morning, Tim.
21:30Good morning, everyone.
21:32Good morning.
21:33This is a very big day for all of us and especially for you.
21:37Your models are here.
21:38All right.
21:39I'm going to be sending them in.
21:40You know the drill.
21:41You have an hour to send them to the Garnier hair salon in the L'Oreal Paris makeup room.
21:45Use the bluefly.com wall very thoughtfully, very strategically.
21:49It's the whole look, okay?
21:51So I will see you a little later.
21:54I'm going to send in your models.
21:56Okay, Tim.
21:57Everyone make it work.
21:58Putting the dress on Monique prior to going to makeup has proven to be an oh my God moment.
22:10The wave is extremely too big.
22:14So I'm having to completely alter that aspect of the dress.
22:18I don't know.
22:19Once again, it's just another make it work moment.
22:23That's okay.
22:24I can get it done.
22:25I really feel at this point it should be Anthony and Jay that do not move forward.
22:30And I say that because Anthony has been very inconsistent.
22:36And Jay, there's kind of a lot of fashion knowledge and textile knowledge that he doesn't know.
22:43I don't really know that he's ready to have a collection.
22:46Mila.
22:47I've seen her work and I'm not sure if she's going to be able to show at Bryant Park with an amazing collection.
22:53This should be about the guys.
22:55We all know how to put a dramatic show and I think I'm saying this because I dislike her as a person.
23:02But I don't think she has that.
23:04Okay.
23:05Awesome.
23:06Let's whip them off and we'll go down there.
23:07Her hair should be a lot softer, modern, edgier.
23:11I want to bring a rock and roll edge to it.
23:14I want her hair longer.
23:16How long do you want it to be?
23:18I'm hoping that her eyes will be powerful.
23:21Really dark.
23:22No colors.
23:23Smooth.
23:24She's smoldering.
23:25Woohoo!
23:26Lovely.
23:27Wow.
23:28You like?
23:29This is it.
23:30This is what we've all been working for.
23:31Everyone is excited.
23:32We all know it's the last one and everyone wants to go to Bryant Park.
23:44So the energy is palpable.
23:46You can just feel it.
23:47It's amazing.
23:48Designers, in 10 minutes, you and your models and I are going down to the runway, okay?
23:54Yes!
23:55Yay!
23:56I'll be back in 10 minutes.
23:58Woohoo!
23:59I got to tell you, I'm flipping out inside.
24:02I'm expecting like the grand poobah of runway shows.
24:07So let's get on.
24:08Let's bring the show on.
24:09I want so badly to be able to create a collection that doesn't involve a challenge.
24:16You know, it doesn't involve parameters.
24:18It doesn't involve restrictions.
24:20Of course I'm going to feel disappointed if I don't make it through to Fashion Week.
24:24Always cheat to the judges.
24:26Designers and models, let's do it.
24:28Come on, follow me.
24:30When I came into the competition, I didn't come to beat Seth Aaron or to beat Mila or to beat Jay or to beat Anthony.
24:39I came to win for myself.
24:41I just want to be number one.
24:44Coming up on Project Runway.
24:46It's $300 worth of polyester.
24:49We have crazy crotch.
24:50You know, you have to know what you're working with.
24:53Damn, lesson learned.
25:00Welcome to the runway.
25:03We started this competition with 16 designers.
25:07And now it's down to just you.
25:09As you know, in fashion one day you're in, and the next day you're out.
25:14There are five of you here, but only three of you will go to Fashion Week.
25:20That means two of you will be out.
25:23For this final challenge, we ask you to create a high-end runway look inspired by the circus.
25:29I look forward to seeing what you've done.
25:32Okay, let's meet the judges.
25:34First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
25:37Hey, guys.
25:38Hey, Michael.
25:39Fashion director for Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
25:42Hi, everyone.
25:43And fashion designer, Cynthia Rawley.
25:48We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
25:51Let's start the show.
25:53This garment, it shows Jay Nicolás Sario as a fashion designer.
26:00It's tight, but at the same time there's volume and texture and color.
26:06It's dramatic.
26:07And I believe that this look will take me to Fashion Week.
26:12It's totally Mila, and I think that it fulfilled the challenge really well.
26:21I totally see the circus vibe in it, but I also think that this is an amazing runway look.
26:26It's dynamic.
26:27It's got movement.
26:28I felt like it was imperative that my point of view be very strong in this final look.
26:33I love the dress on Monique.
26:37I just love how beautiful she looks today.
26:39I love the movement of the gown.
26:41And I think that she is one of the few people on the runway who still looks like a lady.
26:47This dress explores the fantasy aspect of who I am as a designer.
26:55The dress says everything that I hope to represent as a designer.
27:00It's dramatic without being costuming.
27:03It's impeccably made.
27:06It fits like a glove.
27:08Lorena looks beautiful and confident.
27:11I don't think anyone even came close to touching this dress.
27:19It fully expressed my point of view.
27:22At this point, I can't change anything.
27:25You know, there's no excuses.
27:27This is what I came up with.
27:29I don't want to bore anybody.
27:31I want to make a statement.
27:36We have scored your designs.
27:38Three of you will go to Fashion Week, and two of you will be out.
27:43Let's bring out your models.
27:52Seth Aaron, tell us about your look.
27:54I designed truly off of motion with this.
27:57I was so overwhelmed and so happy with the circus.
28:00I mean, it's me.
28:01It's what I thought.
28:02I didn't think too hard.
28:03I just went with it.
28:05I liked it.
28:07I like the sense of drama, and I like the sense of fantasy about this.
28:13But I do think it's a bit costume-like.
28:17I like all the way that you use wire or whatever is in there to sort of defy gravity, which is what the circus is all about.
28:26I think it's interesting.
28:27Definitely interesting.
28:28I think the pants, we have crazy crotch.
28:31I think they might fit you better, that perhaps a gentleman might have something to fill the trouser out.
28:38But I think the jacket's very strong, and I appreciate that.
28:42Anthony, tell us about your look.
28:44I didn't want to do anything that looked too costuming.
28:46However, I did want to push the envelope in some areas.
28:49I was a little disappointed that my ruffle detailing inside of the blue up under the arm, you couldn't see it on the runway.
28:57I don't mind it from the waist up, but I do think from the waist down, it is a complete snooze.
29:04And I just think it's poorly made.
29:06What on earth really is that fabric?
29:08That's the first thing you have to start with when you're designing anything is know your fabrics and know what's going to work and what isn't going to work.
29:17Let me see that.
29:19It's crepe de chine.
29:21Oh, it's poly.
29:22No, hello.
29:23What is it, polyester?
29:24It is.
29:25It's poly crepe de chine.
29:27But you have to know what the fabrics are.
29:29Well, I mean, through the whole competition, I've only used silks, but this is just, you know.
29:34It's $300 worth of polyester?
29:36She's like a big blue condom.
29:37You know, you have to know what you're working with.
29:40It's just a lesson learned.
29:42Damn, lesson learned.
29:43Jay, tell us about your look.
29:45I've created a jacket, military inspired, really tight fitting, and then paired it back to a pair of really exaggerated pants.
29:52And just kind of like created this bold, strong, you know, look that I always like to do.
30:00Does the jacket come off?
30:01Yes.
30:02Can we just have it off for a second?
30:03Because if you just look at it like that, she would walk down the street.
30:06You would not think twice about it.
30:08It's really just the jacket because the pants like this or that top.
30:12No, they're nice pieces.
30:13They're very nice.
30:14It is very beautifully made.
30:16And those pants are fantastic too.
30:19Mila, tell us about your look.
30:21The Master of Ceremonies jacket had a lot of this sort of scrolling embroidery on it.
30:26And I wanted to pick that up somehow, so maybe they can see more on the back, actually.
30:33It's like a laminated wool herringbone.
30:36I think that it's dramatic, it's impactful, but it's not a costume.
30:41And it's very Mila.
30:42It's very Mila.
30:43There is something here that is not completely convincing me.
30:48I'm not crazy about this.
30:50Well, I hate that color pink.
30:52I'm just kidding, because I'm wearing it like this.
30:55I could do with a little bit less on the collar and maybe something not being a shine.
31:03But in general, I like it.
31:05Yes.
31:06Emilio, tell us about your look.
31:08The entire gown is one piece of fabric that's five yards long.
31:13And then I added the polka dots to add a little bit of whimsy.
31:17Great job.
31:19I think it's absolutely stunning.
31:21I love this.
31:22I think it's so genius.
31:26It's my favorite garment of the season.
31:27Oh.
31:30Thank you very much.
31:31You want your outfit to speak to a woman and to be appealing.
31:37And I think this manages to do that.
31:39Thank you very much.
31:40Seth Aaron, why do you deserve to go to Fashion Week?
31:43I'm well-rounded in all areas.
31:45I can tailor, and I can design, and I believe in what I do.
31:48What other two designers deserve to go with you to Fashion Week?
31:57Emilio and Jay.
32:02Jay, why do you deserve to go to Fashion Week?
32:04For me to be able to get this far and compete against the best of the best,
32:08that already says something, that I can do this.
32:11I could create an amazing collection for Fashion Week.
32:13Who else do you think should go to Fashion Week with you?
32:17I think Seth Aaron has a strong point of view.
32:19I would love to compete against him.
32:21And I want to share this experience with Anthony.
32:25I want to share this experience with you.
32:26I want to share this experience with you.
32:27I want to share this experience with you.
32:28I want to share this experience with you.
32:33Mila, why do you deserve to go to Fashion Week?
32:36I feel that I am a strong, thoughtful designer.
32:42It feels like the right time for me.
32:45And what two designers do you think should go with you?
32:48Based on their consistency and their points of view, I would say Emilio and Seth Aaron.
32:56Emilio, why do you deserve to go to Fashion Week?
32:58Well, I think I've shown in this competition that I have a very strong point of view,
33:04teamed with an amazing set of technical skills that I can create not only a functional line,
33:11but something that would inspire women to want to wear my clothing.
33:16If I had to choose two designers that I would go to Fashion Week,
33:20I think I would choose the strongest designers because I like to compete with the best.
33:24I think Seth Aaron shows an amazing sense of style.
33:30And I think Mila has a very direct point of view that combined the three of us together.
33:37It could be a very powerful show.
33:39Anthony?
33:40I can make beautiful clothes, and I have made beautiful clothes.
33:43I think that in order for me to be my best and represent as I should at Fashion Week,
33:48I need to get to my space and find my center and trust my own viscera.
33:54And if I had to select two individuals who I would want to share this experience with,
34:00it would have to be Emilio and Jay.
34:03We've heard what you had to say.
34:05We're going to have a long chat, and then I'm going to call you back.
34:09You can leave the runway.
34:16Let's talk about Emilio.
34:18This was really one of the most beautiful outfits that he has done.
34:24There was nothing that looked like he struggled at all.
34:28And he's sophisticated.
34:29He's really very sophisticated.
34:31Seth Aaron's look was not as sophisticated as Emilio's.
34:37Definitely not.
34:38No.
34:39But it shows Seth Aaron, and it shows that he's innovative.
34:45Mm-hmm.
34:46It shows that he thinks bigger instead of safe.
34:52I can only imagine what he would do at Fashion Week.
34:55It would be exciting to see.
34:56Yeah.
34:57Absolutely.
34:58I'm curious.
34:59I am curious.
35:00I am curious.
35:01All right, let's talk about Anthony.
35:04To walk into that fabric store where you have the world at your fingertips.
35:10You pick a fabric, and you don't even know what it is and how to handle it.
35:15That's number one.
35:16What's the content?
35:17What is this?
35:18Technically, he doesn't have the skills that some of the other designers have.
35:21I think he has some great ideas.
35:23I think he's done some beautiful things in the past.
35:25He's got talent.
35:29Let's talk about Mila.
35:30I think her clothes, you know, often to me, they seem flat.
35:35They seem one dimensional.
35:37I will say that today, the jacket did have some dimension.
35:42I did like some of the lines on it.
35:44It just didn't seem relevant in any way, you know.
35:47I don't know how...
35:48But don't you think, honestly though, the clothes are always made beautifully.
35:53All right, let's talk about Jay.
35:56I do think he makes good clothes, and clothes that feel very modern and very now.
36:02But he's never really 100% right though.
36:05Jay, I know we're going to get a taste level.
36:08I just haven't figured out who he is as a designer.
36:15Today was tough, but did we make our decision?
36:18Yeah, I'm ready.
36:19Okay, let's bring them back out.
36:21We've made our decision, and now we will reveal who will go to Fashion Week.
36:34We've made our decision, and now we will reveal who will go to Fashion Week.
36:51Emilio, your dress was unanimously our favorite.
36:57Thank you very much.
36:59It was in a league of its own. Congratulations.
37:04You're in, you're going to Bryant Park.
37:06You can leave the runway, Emilio.
37:09I'm very pleased and humbled, but the final destination is winning and being victorious.
37:16So, yes, I'm happy that I'm going to Bryant Park, but I'll be even happier when I win Project Runway.
37:22We blew it out the park. Home run. Home freaking run.
37:27Seth Aaron, you've shown us time and time again how creative you are, and your tailoring is consistently fantastic.
37:38Seth Aaron, congratulations. You're in. You're going to Fashion Week.
37:44I'm good.
37:53You can leave the runway.
37:54Oh, there's two.
37:55You know, I don't have to battle anymore. I have a spot, and it has my name on it.
37:59And give me my money, send me home, and I'm going to come back and blow the socks off New York City.
38:05Whoo! Oh, my God, I hate you. Freak. Such a freak.
38:12Anthony, you won some of the biggest challenges this season, and you've grown tremendously.
38:19Your effort today fell short, and we think you still need to mature as a designer.
38:29Anthony, you're out.
38:35Anthony the leave.
38:42Anthony, thank you for everything.
38:48Anthony, you've impressed us throughout this competition.
38:52We applaud that you pushed yourself in this challenge and stepped outside of your comfort zone while
38:59staying true to your point of view. Your look was made well.
39:02well however it was disappointing this fell short of your talent Jay you make
39:12clothes beautifully and today was no exception your pants were impeccable but
39:19overall the look was somewhat expected you played it safe on a challenge when
39:25you were supposed to do anything but Mila you're in
39:36Jay you're also in we have some concerns about both of you but we also know both of you have
40:00the potential to wow us now there's the big but both of you are going to design collections but
40:06only one of you will show it fashion week it is going to be up to you to take this opportunity
40:11and run with it good luck thank you you both can leave the runway thank you Jay and I both have
40:18really strong points of view I think that come across and what we do I just have to make sure
40:23her mind's better that means we both make collections and it's like a shootout Mila
40:31and I have two different points of view and I just want to show my best I just want to prove to the
40:36whole entire world that I'm worthy enough I was feeling sad for Anthony but in fact this is happy
40:44yeah no you know cover of Mary Claire Jessica Alba it's fantastic congratulations really but I do have
40:58to send you to the work room to clean up your space you're used to this you know what to do
41:06that's my line my time has come my work here is done and I think that it speaks volumes for what
41:29will happen for me in the future I don't think you could ever think that you've seen the last of me
41:34not in a million years next time on Project Runway I'm going to be paying each of you a business
41:44surprise I'd like you to reconceptualize the whole thing that's conservative even going a little
41:52matronly it was a little cuckoo it's cuckoo Chanel girl here's my point my point is I don't know that
42:01this is worth your time but you do whatever you want to do I'm not really that interested in what
42:06Tim thinks of my work one of you will be out it's a tough one guys I've worked so hard for it I can't
42:12imagine not going forward
