00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03The challenge is to design an outfit to be worn by Heidi on the cover of Marie Claire.
00:09The cover!
00:11They're gonna be pretty short.
00:13I mean, you don't want it to look like clown clothes.
00:15I don't completely know what it's gonna look like.
00:18That worries me.
00:19Come on.
00:20I'm probably gonna screw myself.
00:26You did one shoulder in a new way.
00:28Anthony.
00:30You are the winner.
00:33It's like three ingredients that leave you feeling nauseous.
00:37Anna, you're out.
00:39Mila, which one of them will be in and which one will be out?
00:43I think I'm going to give Carrie a shot.
00:46I'm sorry, Casey.
00:47You're out.
00:48This is Project Runway.
00:50Yes!
00:51I am fashion.
00:52Look at me.
00:53It's cut or be cut.
00:54Just make it work.
00:55Great clothes.
00:56Great style.
00:57Three finalists will make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
01:00Well, I won't do anything to win.
01:02I will.
01:03But only one can be the winner.
01:06My weapon of choice.
01:07For these 16 designers, Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime.
01:12The winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie-Claire magazine.
01:17An opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com.
01:20The $50,000 technology suite to create, design and run their business from HP and Intel.
01:26and $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to launch their line.
01:33Are you going to make coffee?
01:37This is Aaron.
01:38Good morning, gorgeous.
01:39What?
01:40Being in the bottom three twice, it does a lot to your spirit.
01:44So it feels so awesome to win, but I didn't get immunity, so I got to keep my eye on the
01:51prize and stay focused.
01:53Could you imagine what it's like for Anthony being on the bar twice and then winning?
01:57I'm just so drained.
01:59I had the attention of the editor-in-chief of Marie-Claire, and she really hated what I put out there.
02:08God.
02:10I'm playing it safe today.
02:13Careful, because safe could get you kicked off.
02:15I'm getting to the point where being safe or being in the bottom is not an option.
02:18Oh, Lord.
02:19And I've got to start showing that I'm strong enough to be in competition with these other designers.
02:23Come on, Janine.
02:24We have a date with Heidi on the runway.
02:26Let's go.
02:27What are you guys waiting for?
02:28Come on, guys.
02:29Let's go to Parsons.
02:30Hello.
02:31Hi.
02:32For your next challenge, you will have new models.
02:37These models may not have that much experience, but they are definitely a very attractive little
02:46group.
02:47Would you like to meet them?
02:49Yes.
02:50Yes.
02:51Let's bring them out, then.
03:00Oh, crap.
03:02This is going to be a nightmare.
03:04Your next challenge is to create a kid's look.
03:07It must be age-appropriate and, of course, fashionable.
03:11The whole thing changes.
03:12The proportion changes.
03:13The fit changes.
03:14You've got to figure out what it is that you want to bring to a child to make them feel special.
03:19We have randomly paired each of you with one of these adorable little girls.
03:23My name is Ava.
03:24My designer is Jesse.
03:26Hey, Ava.
03:27My designer is Steph.
03:30Being a father myself, I know there's lots of things that kids are really specific about
03:37and things they hate, and I know what those are.
03:40My designer's name is Maya.
03:42My designer's name is Jay.
03:44My designer's name is Janine.
03:46My designer is Ben.
03:51My name is Lexi, and my designer is Annecy.
03:55My designer is Mila.
03:57My designer is Jonathan.
03:59I am scared of children.
04:02I don't surround myself with children.
04:04I don't have any children.
04:06They are very small.
04:08My name is Lauren, and my designer is Emilio.
04:12My designer's name is Amy.
04:14I am completely ecstatic.
04:16I love mini clothes.
04:18Okay, designers.
04:19Tim will meet you in the workroom and fill you in on all of the details.
04:23All right, girls.
04:24Let's go.
04:25Bye.
04:26Kid forms.
04:27Look how small mine is.
04:28And we've got these itty-bitty little dress forms.
04:41Chest 26, 24, 27 and a half.
04:44They're itty-bitty little girls.
04:46Good morning, everybody.
04:47So you met your adorable new clients?
04:50Yes.
04:51You each have a card with your model's measurements on it.
04:55You will have 30 minutes to sketch.
04:57Then we're going to Mood where you'll have a budget of $50.
05:00You have until midnight tonight for this challenge.
05:03And you will not see your new clients again until tomorrow.
05:07Happy sketching.
05:10Okay.
05:11What is she wanting to wear right now?
05:14I can't even draw kids.
05:17Designers that have been winning the challenges are really taking a chance,
05:21doing something that's a little more innovative.
05:23Designing a kimono sleeve romper.
05:25Maybe that's the headspace I need to get into.
05:28Really just try to push myself, creating something that's a little more unusual.
05:32Find a way to interject Anthony into a little girl's dress
05:35when I celebrate the feminine silhouette and the volume.
05:39Honey, these little girls ain't got no booties or no breasts,
05:41so I'm not exactly sure how this is going to work.
05:43And you know, I am so about what's appropriate.
05:46The thing that's coming to my mind is a trip I took to Paris,
05:49and there were a lot of school children sketching at the Pompidou Center.
05:54So I've got this sort of school girl Madeline kind of theme going.
05:58This is a tricky challenge.
06:00Anyone can go home on this one.
06:02I think all the designers are going to try to be innovative
06:05and put too much of themselves into the design.
06:08And I'm just going the opposite way.
06:11I'm designing a pretty little dress.
06:13It's a very quiet room.
06:16We're concentrating. It's a very difficult challenge.
06:18Well, you can still concentrate, but you have to leave your table
06:20because we're going to move.
06:22All right, designers, your 30 minutes starts right now.
06:26All right.
06:28The most key element in this design is going to be the vest hoodie,
06:37and I want to do it out of black checker or houndstooth,
06:40and it needs to be black and white.
06:42You know, it's basic stretch cotton.
06:45Where is it?
06:46If I was a little girl, I would wear green.
06:52Oh, look that right there.
06:53Oh, I like that.
06:55Ah!
06:57Oh, look up.
06:58That's a pretty color for her.
07:00I think pink might be a cliche.
07:03Half a yard of yellow.
07:04I think we need to be a little bit more forward.
07:07Designers, you have 10 minutes remaining.
07:10Where is this black and white checker?
07:12They don't have it.
07:13That would be perfect.
07:16One minute remains.
07:20I'm hauling ass, and I come across the houndstooth.
07:25Find it upstairs in the wool knit.
07:28All right, that's it.
07:29Time's up.
07:30No more shopping.
07:31You have to get in line now.
07:33I got it.
07:34Thank you, Mood.
07:35Now it's entirely up to me to deliver that vision.
07:39This weird draping seems like it's a lot quicker on a form that doesn't have any shape.
07:52There's a lot of black in this room for kids.
07:55Children nowadays are very fashion-forward, especially when you're eight.
08:00When you're at that age, you move on to wearing sophisticated pieces.
08:04So I'm going for something like a plum color grounded with navy blue.
08:10At this point, I'm feeling pretty great about the piece that I have.
08:16You know what, Jonathan?
08:17You'd save a lot of time if you just bought fabric.
08:19You're always making it, being all creative.
08:21I'm going to limit myself to what the fabric store sells.
08:24I'm going to do a dress under a short bolero jacket.
08:29And the short bolero jacket will have some strips of different colors of organdy.
08:33I think Michael Kors is really going to like it.
08:36He's like, she looks like a seven-year-old waitress from Benihara.
08:40The look in the end will be fun, and at the same time be sophisticated and modern.
08:45It's as if memoirs of a geisha.
08:48I met Barney.
08:59Since I really like color blocking, I just decided to do an A-line dress, something kind of 60s.
09:05It's modelicious.
09:06And it's color blocked.
09:07Imagine that.
09:08When I first started Project Runway, I wasn't getting along with people.
09:12Oh, good.
09:13Nobody dared go near my machine.
09:15Top two, top two.
09:19But now that I'm more centered in the workroom, I'm getting along much better with other designers.
09:25Add some color blocking to your life.
09:28Mmm.
09:29Oh.
09:30Color blocks.
09:31Has color blocks.
09:32The pain.
09:33That could be a sermon.
09:38My design is very simple.
09:39When my sister and I were like seven, she was in a school play, and she was a butterfly.
09:48And she wore this little red romper thing, and I was always so jealous of her.
09:53I need to make that.
09:54You know, people are going all out on this.
09:57You know, lots of seeming, lots of details.
10:00But this needs to be something that a little girl would want.
10:06Your model's going to be such a badass in that.
10:08She's going to beat up my model in the playground.
10:10She's going to be hardcore.
10:11This is what they wear.
10:12And then how old is your daughter?
10:13She's 11 now.
10:14She went through this phase, and they still kind of do this pop rock stuff.
10:17I know.
10:18I like traditional little kid stuff.
10:20Kids want to be interested in their clothes.
10:22They don't want some dull, boring Easter dress.
10:25They want socks.
10:26They want hoodies.
10:27They want layers.
10:28Make the clothes fun.
10:30I might get eliminated because of a kid.
10:33That's what I'm saying.
10:34What the?
10:44Too big.
10:45Too big.
10:46I think it's really odd that we haven't seen Tim all day.
10:51Do we think we're going to get a little twist thrown into this challenge or what?
10:54Who knows?
10:55That's reasonable.
10:56If there's a twist in this challenge, I actually feel pretty good about where I'm at.
11:01Crap.
11:02But I think some other people would be completely thrown for a loop.
11:07I just feel like it's so yellow.
11:09When I leave the workroom, I'm a little bit worried.
11:11I don't think this is going to be enough for the judges.
11:14I know it's not extremely innovative as a design, but I'm hoping they'll see that it's appropriate for children's wear.
11:24Coming up on Project Runway.
11:26I have a nice surprise for you.
11:28I am screwed.
11:30You are really rocking Halloween here.
11:32They hate Halloween.
11:33These pants will either stop the show or it's going to be clown clothes.
11:47Wow, your hair has gotten big.
11:49Go big or go home.
11:50In that case, let me have some of that.
11:52Oh, my God.
11:53You're fine.
11:54I'm worried today, though, honestly.
11:55Well, you're always worried.
11:56I'm not worried for you.
11:57Yeah, you're always worried.
11:59When I wake up, I'm still a little bit worried.
12:04Jordan, hi, it's me.
12:06Being away from my husband is really hard.
12:10I miss you.
12:11I wish I was with you right now.
12:13It's nice to have encouragement when you're really trying at something and you're struggling.
12:19I just would die for a hug and a kiss right now.
12:22I love you.
12:23Thanks, honey.
12:25Good morning, designers.
12:30Good morning, Tim.
12:31How is everybody?
12:32Good.
12:33I have a nice surprise for you.
12:38Whenever Tim comes in with that sly little look on his face and his eyes gleaming, you know there's trouble.
12:45These looks will not be walking the runway today.
12:48Really?
12:50Really?
12:51What?
12:52They'll be walking the runway tomorrow with a corresponding look for your model.
13:02It's good news.
13:03It's a great, great, great challenge.
13:05But it's not to be a maxi me from a mini me.
13:08You really have to reconceive this for an adult.
13:10You will have 15 minutes to sketch.
13:12Then we're going to mood where you'll have a budget of $100.
13:16And I'm also very pleased to tell you that the winner of this challenge will have immunity.
13:20Okay?
13:21Okay.
13:22Thanks.
13:23Have fun.
13:24Jadam.
13:25What am I going to come up with that's going to correspond with a pink cupcake?
13:30How am I going to translate this little five-year-old princess dress for my model Holly, who's like six foot tall, Amazon?
13:38I am screwed.
13:40I'm really excited about this because then I have a chance to do something that's more elaborate and create an entire new look that will enhance the children's world look a little bit.
13:53Necklines can get lower, hemlines can get higher.
13:56We can do more of like the sexy, high fashion things that we're normally used to doing.
14:03Are you not sketching?
14:05No.
14:06I took all my likes and put it into child's.
14:10It's everything that I love to do.
14:12So to translate that from child to adult, I think it's going to be pretty simple.
14:18All right, everyone.
14:19Let's head off to mood.
14:21Let's go.
14:25All right, everyone.
14:26I have your $100 and you have 20 minutes to shop.
14:29It'll be plenty of time.
14:31Your 20 minutes begins now.
14:33What the hell happened to that?
14:40When I think of the word companion piece, I think it needs to be in the same show.
14:45It needs to be in the same season, the same color story.
14:47It needs to have that same sensibility.
14:50Ten minutes, everybody.
14:52They don't have anything that's a gray and red mixture in a print.
14:55This is kind of interesting.
14:56But I do find a black and white paisley design.
14:59I feel like it has sort of that French flair a little bit still.
15:02I'm just going with my gut.
15:03Designers, that's it.
15:04Time.
15:05He's ringing me up.
15:06Everybody has to get in line now.
15:09Thank you, mood.
15:12This is a hard challenge because I felt like I put so much into this first outfit.
15:19And then you've got to, like, make another look that's just as strong.
15:23I know.
15:24You want even more genius?
15:25God.
15:26Ooh.
15:27Whoa.
15:28A little close, but we will see.
15:31I just really like the idea of going from a skirt to a pant.
15:35I have all these colors that I'm trying to work with and arrange and create a kind of graphic element.
15:40But I have no clue at all how it's going to come all together.
15:44My feet hurt.
15:45I feel like I work in the chicken shack or something today.
15:59Yeah, my mom has a bad cough.
16:03So everybody in church is like, who was that hacking out they lungs during service?
16:09When Anthony opens his mouth, he'll weave a story.
16:12So in your mind, you can tell she's like, damn.
16:16Jeez, you made me forget my measurement there.
16:20I'm sorry, sister.
16:21I won't talk no more.
16:22Yeah, right.
16:23Are y'all, like, trying to bit me how long I can go without talking?
16:26I'm putting down for 22 minutes.
16:28Seven minutes at the most.
16:29I said five.
16:30Let's go.
16:31Now.
16:32Wait a minute.
16:33Wait.
16:34You really saw it.
16:35You couldn't really do it.
16:36We challenged him to see how far he could go without having to say anything.
16:48Let me give you some lips.
17:06That is the longest I've ever done in my life.
17:11I don't want to hear any more about me being quiet.
17:15Oh, my God.
17:16You can get a lot down when you shut the hell up.
17:18I'm still not going to talk to y'all.
17:21No one panic.
17:22No twists.
17:23Just me.
17:24Jonathan, I love what you've done here.
17:27The cotton organza was a last night decision.
17:31I thought the dress was very plain and it was very yellow.
17:34I'm okay.
17:35What's going on with you?
17:36So what's going on with the look for your model?
17:37Okay.
17:38So this is just the base right now and I bought more of the white cotton organza and this
17:42is actually going to be over the entire dress.
17:44Well, it's going to be an attention grabber.
17:46Absolutely.
17:47All right.
17:48Thank you, Jonathan.
17:49Thank you, Tim.
17:50For the older version, I'm using that fabric twice.
17:53I really love it.
17:54You are really rocking Halloween here with the black and this corally orange.
17:59I see these colors as being pink and black and white.
18:02I would never design something inspired by Halloween because I hate Halloween.
18:06Just be prepared for a response to that.
18:09So, Amy.
18:10Hi, Tim.
18:11You have a little factory here.
18:12What are you doing?
18:13Yeah.
18:14So, to go back to my little girl's look, taking that same type of petal shape, mixing up the
18:21colors and actually laying it onto another fabric and making it into a loose fitting pant.
18:26These pants will either stop the show or it's going to be clown clothes.
18:30I completely understand that I'm running that risk right now.
18:33And I'm thrilled that you are.
18:35You know, it's a lot better than playing it safe.
18:37We'll see.
18:38I'm not going to waste any more of your time.
18:39Just do it.
18:40Great.
18:41Okay.
18:42This is my completed child's look, including small handbags.
18:46My daughter, she collects handbags at this age.
18:48She had like 200 of them.
18:49What?
18:50Yeah.
18:51Let's look at your other look.
18:52Okay.
18:53What I have done is stitched on to create a hound's, you know, it's not houndstooth.
18:59No, but it's...
19:00But it gives it that effect.
19:01I'm really excited about what you all are doing.
19:03Cool.
19:04Thank you, Seth Aaron.
19:06All right, designers.
19:07Your models are going to be coming in shortly, both of them.
19:10And I want you to know I am profoundly wowed.
19:14Wowed.
19:15Thank you, everybody.
19:16Make it work.
19:17Thanks, Tim.
19:18I'm with my...
19:19Beautiful.
19:20I hug.
19:21I'm out of the leg.
19:22I feel beautiful.
19:23Chalk fits you, too.
19:25Like, I don't need to do a lot.
19:27Wow.
19:28You like that?
19:29So if it says she likes it, I just like to get a smile out of her.
19:33I think you will win.
19:34Well, no matter what happens, it's going to be a lot of fun.
19:37Yeah!
19:38Wait a minute.
19:40Where are your mamas?
19:41What?
19:42Oh, that's perfect.
19:44Fabriana feels a little like this about her dress.
19:47Meh.
19:48Work it, girl.
19:49See ya.
19:50See you tomorrow.
19:51That one little child made me so nervous that I now stay.
19:54Oh, it's creeping up, huh?
19:57Midnight.
19:58Fabriana is slowing down.
20:00I'm still cutting out petals right now.
20:02I just really wish I had at least one leg done so I could kind of see what this whole
20:08thing is going to look like.
20:10I think it's definitely going to be a close one this time.
20:12You're running out of fabric?
20:13Yeah.
20:14Because Holly is so tall and I'm making this so long.
20:17I am very concerned over this challenge.
20:22I'm not showing it though.
20:24I never let them see me sweat.
20:27I'm feeling like I'm going to at least be safe for the runway.
20:32I've been on the bottom before and I've had a scathing review and I just want to get through
20:40this one.
20:41Okay.
20:42Let's go.
20:43Coming up on Project Runway.
20:46The work room is a little bit like Whomper Room on crack.
20:51Do y'all have an off switch?
20:53And we want a nice, smooth exit.
20:56Jonathan's dress just went to a whole nother place.
21:00We have until 1030 right?
21:10Yeah.
21:11Okay so I'll get as much as I can done done done done done done.
21:15The models are coming in and then the kids are coming in so I know that I'm not going
21:20to have the entire time to be working on stuff so I'm kind of nervous about that.
21:25I'm taking a risk right now.
21:31I'm going to either be in the top three or the bottom three.
21:33I'm not running anywhere in the middle because it's going to be a standout piece.
21:37You know Amy's pants are really designed and I just don't know how those are going to
21:42look once they're out there.
21:44That's why I'm here.
21:45I want to stand out.
21:51Good morning Tim.
21:52Good morning designers.
21:53I'm about to send in your models.
21:55You will have an hour each to send them to the Garnier Hair Salon and the L'Oreal Paris
22:00Makeup Room.
22:01Use the bluefly.com wall.
22:03Very thoughtfully, very strategically.
22:05It's the source for your accessories.
22:07Thank you everybody.
22:08I'm going to send in your models.
22:10The workroom is a little bit like romper room on crack.
22:23There's little girls cutting random scraps of fabric.
22:26They're making accessories for each other.
22:28The designers are having heart palpitations.
22:31It's all over the place in the world.
22:34Oh they bet.
22:35My dog's 77.
22:37I am just completely not custom to dealing with so many little children.
22:44My older sister is my dog.
22:46Your older sister is your dog.
22:48I'm absolutely amazed by their conversations.
22:51I just started first grade.
22:53My dog doesn't look like your dog.
22:55Do y'all have an off switch?
22:57What's an off switch?
22:59Exactly.
23:00Well alright girls, I'll see y'all later.
23:03No we're coming back.
23:04Yeah.
23:05Okay.
23:06Buried together, Bob.
23:10Her dress is covered in cotton organza petals.
23:24Are you done yet?
23:28I'm going to have to go back in the storing room, okay?
23:31Okay.
23:32I think Janine might have some trouble because her look is just simple.
23:34It just isn't as designed, I think, as everybody else's.
23:37I like it.
23:38I like the pant.
23:39I love the tank.
23:40And I like the jacket shape.
23:42I hope it's enough for the judges.
23:44This has been my strategy all along.
23:47To be safe to about the halfway point.
23:49And then to really start pulling out the big tricks for the judges.
23:53Do you think my mom's going to like it?
23:55I think she might.
23:57Allison, are you ready for the circus?
24:01Woohoo!
24:02Designers, models, and young lady models.
24:08In ten minutes, we're going down to the runway.
24:10And we want a nice, smooth exit.
24:13I'll be back in ten minutes.
24:15I'm not a hundred percent confident.
24:21I'm more seventy-five percent.
24:23And for me that's rare.
24:24But I think there's worse because there's over design.
24:27Jonathan's mother dress just went to a whole nother place.
24:32All right, let's go down to the runway everybody.
24:38This could either be a ridiculous runway show because we're all going to march outside in a weird-ass costume.
24:45Or this could all be genius.
24:46Is that it?
24:47All right everybody.
24:49Coming up on Project Runway.
24:52It looks like a cheap mall outfit.
24:56Those are just a train wreck.
25:06Welcome to the runway.
25:08As you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out.
25:12There are eleven of you here and after tonight there will be ten.
25:15Now more than ever children are becoming little fashionistas.
25:21So with that in mind the first part of your challenge was to design an age-appropriate and fashionable children's look.
25:28Then we gave you a little twist.
25:30We asked you to create a companion look for an adult.
25:34All right, let's meet the judges.
25:36First we have top American designer Michael Kors.
25:39Hey guys.
25:40Hi.
25:41Hello.
25:42Fashion director of Marie Claire magazine Nina Garcia.
25:45Hello.
25:46American designer whose lifestyle brand is very popular among women of all ages including little girls.
25:54Tori Burch.
25:56Welcome.
25:57Hi.
25:58How are you?
25:59We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
26:02One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
26:07Let's start the show.
26:11Two looks that I created are very cohesive through style lines, coloring, the ruffle detail, all of those things.
26:20It looks really beautiful on the runway.
26:24When they came out it was so graphic and fun.
26:31I don't know how it's going to be received but I know that it's creative, it's different and it's inspiring.
26:38I'm extremely pleased with the two looks and think that I kept my inspiration and my design intact and I'm very proud of them.
26:53I'm ecstatic.
26:54I'm ecstatic.
26:55It's exactly what I was going for.
26:56Now whether they're going to see my interpretation as I see it, that's yet to be decided.
27:05I mean I wouldn't change a damn thing.
27:09Everything looks really good up there on the runway.
27:15Everything is moving really well.
27:17When you get it onto the runway you're not always sure how well it's going to move.
27:20It looks like a comfortable and cute little girl's outfit.
27:23I think Alexis looks great.
27:24The dress really fits her perfectly so I'm super excited about that.
27:33Seeing Brandeis' dress on the runway is like such a wow moment for me.
27:37The petals are moving the way they were supposed to.
27:40The color looks gorgeous on her and it's just really stunning.
27:47I'm so excited about my two outfits.
27:49It's my first time doing children's wear and I think she looks absolutely great.
27:53I'm so happy with my jacket.
27:55It was such a risk with such a bright color but I think I really turned it out.
28:03When I see Haley and Carrie together completely dressed I think they look so adorable.
28:08They just look so cute and I'm very pleased with the way the two outfits look together.
28:13Lauren, she was so adorable on that runway and she looked like a little princess.
28:27And Holly looked like a very, very well kept expensive mother.
28:38I'm happy.
28:39I mean I know that it's a really simple look and I think they look great together.
28:44You know they look like they belong together.
28:52I'm feeling very happy.
28:53I've created two amazing outfits.
28:56They're sewn perfectly and I need to win this.
28:59I'm gonna win this.
29:00I better win this.
29:01If I call your name, please step forward.
29:10Jay.
29:11Amy.
29:13Jonathan.
29:15Seth Aaron.
29:17Jesse.
29:19Janine.
29:22If I have not called your name, congratulations.
29:25Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next challenge.
29:28You can leave the runway.
29:33Jonathan.
29:35Amy.
29:36And Janine.
29:38The three of you have the lowest scores.
29:42We're going to talk to the ones with the highest scores first.
29:46And then I'm gonna call you back.
29:47You can leave the runway.
29:49Let's bring out your models.
30:04Jesse, tell us about your two looks.
30:06Well first the big red coat kind of popped into my head.
30:09And then I wanted to match it with just something a little bit more interesting.
30:12So I did the A-line section kind of skewed.
30:15And then with the next day challenge decided just to kind of do the very streamlined and tailored look.
30:21I think you did a good job.
30:22I would have preferred the dress to be straight.
30:26Well with the detail in the back it's actually skewed.
30:28I think that informs the whole thing a little bit more.
30:32I think it's a job well done.
30:34I love the color combos.
30:36And also you attempted to do some real tailoring with that coat.
30:40I like that you chose gray because I like unusual colors on little girls.
30:44Raeva, how do you like your outfit?
30:47A lot.
30:49I think it looks adorable.
30:50I think the hair accessories is adorable.
30:53And I think the model mom looks pretty good.
30:57Seth Aaron, tell us about your two looks.
31:00It's all about comfort.
31:01So all my fabrics are really soft.
31:03That was important.
31:04Coarse pink and white.
31:05A must.
31:06Denim.
31:07I added my wave flare to it, which is zippers, hardware, and then we got to put the stars with the labels.
31:15And so pulling off that inspiration I was able to step into my mod new wave feel, hardware, skinnies, and zipper details.
31:24First, I want to know from Sydney how you like your outfit.
31:28I like it.
31:29What do you like about it?
31:31About the purse.
31:33You have an adult's look and a child's look that are both really super and strong.
31:38And I have to say that this jacket is the best tailored garment we have seen this season.
31:45Wow.
31:47This outfit on a little girl seems to me like something that a little girl would dream of wearing.
31:52And it's not something that I've seen before.
31:54You thought about the purse.
31:56You thought about integrating your style into this.
32:00So, bravo.
32:02It's really good.
32:03Jay, tell us about your two looks.
32:05Savannah is my model.
32:06She's eight.
32:07So, I did this drop waist dress with the ruffling around the hip.
32:10And then I paired it back to a pair of denim with the gold lurex.
32:14And then with my model, I mimicked the ruffling detail.
32:18I wanted to make her more adult and more sophisticated.
32:22So, I decided to go with the blacks.
32:24A lot of design and a lot of thought has gone into it.
32:27It's not just like a simple little dress.
32:29I think that Monique and Savannah, they look really chic.
32:33When I first saw it, I said, wow.
32:36You know, that's a couple mother-daughter that I would notice walking down the street.
32:40Together, they look like a really striking pair.
32:43And it's that feeling of modern, urban, New York, and cool.
32:48Savannah, do you like your look?
32:50Mm-hmm.
32:51I really do.
32:52You also did a fantastic job on the runway today.
32:55Good job.
32:56Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
32:57Now we're going to talk to the ones with the lowest scores.
33:00And then we'll bring you back out.
33:01You can leave the runway.
33:12Janine, tell us about your true looks.
33:13When I started thinking about children's wear, I thought about being comfortable, being active.
33:19I don't know, I just wanted something that she could run around in all day and it would
33:23be like her favorite dress.
33:24I'm not sure if I like the fact that it was so plain.
33:29I think I would have liked to see more whimsy.
33:32But it's too simple.
33:34It's a design competition.
33:36The whole combination is awful.
33:37It looks like a cheap mall outfit.
33:39And that has nothing to do with you.
33:41You did a fantastic job on the runway today.
33:44I like leggings on a little girl, but I think a different top would have been better.
33:49Something that was a little more unusual, a little different.
33:52The jacket just looks really like a home ec project.
33:56There's nothing polished about that jacket.
33:58Jonathan, tell us about your looks.
34:01Well, I started with the fabulous Fabriana.
34:04I wanted to give her an outfit that was a little girl's dress, but with an edge.
34:09When we worked backwards into the adult look, I chose to create a textile with cotton organza
34:14using the same sleeve treatment and actually the same silver cotton sateen, which is the jacket
34:19of Fabriana's outfit.
34:21It looks so uncomfortable, that little bolera.
34:23Is that comfortable?
34:26It's kind of like pushing into my skin.
34:28I think you had the opposite problem than Janine.
34:32You went too sophisticated, too conceptual.
34:35I understood that this was a risk.
34:37I definitely wanted to take a risk.
34:39You know, I get what you were going for here, but she literally looks like she got caught in a tornado of toilet paper.
34:46And think about the body.
34:47My God, if she looks like toilet paper, what is a normal woman going to look like?
34:52Amy, tell us about your look.
34:54For beautiful Caitlyn, I did a little petal skirt.
34:57I kind of created the textile myself using tonal oranges.
35:01And for Allison, I used the same color palette and I used the same shape as the petals.
35:06And I'm actually really excited about it.
35:09I have a feeling, Amy, that it wasn't intentional.
35:12Caitlyn looks like the house was on fire and she grabbed every garment in the house.
35:17And she just ran out of the house.
35:20And then Mom!
35:22I mean, those pants are just a train wreck.
35:26The entire effect is very confusing, circus-like.
35:31It's weird.
35:34I think it's hideous.
35:35It's just bizarre.
35:37I actually like it a little bit.
35:39What's your favorite piece?
35:40It would be the sweater.
35:42But would you wear it together?
35:43With Amy, I would trust your fashion sense.
35:46Okay.
35:47I think my biggest problem with it is the color palette.
35:50And it's really throwing me because I don't really feel those colors work together.
35:55I don't find it necessarily that unappealing, but I do think it's a different color combination, definitely.
36:03Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
36:05We're going to have a little chat and then we call you back out.
36:08You can leave the runway.
36:10Okay, let's talk about the designers with the highest scores.
36:19Let's start with Jesse.
36:20Yes, it was a very traditional outfit and he managed to give it a little bit of a sense of humor.
36:27He made a hair accessory.
36:28I thought that was nice too.
36:29And we're forgetting, we're forgetting.
36:32He made a tailored wool coat.
36:35The mom was so sexy and then you have this traditional beautiful little girl.
36:39I don't think I've ever noticed the model Alexis as much as today.
36:44The dress was really pretty rocking.
36:49Let's move on to Seth Aaron.
36:51It was a much more sophisticated take, more hard edge, but then when we got to the child's
36:56look, it had whimsy.
36:58I think kids love to have a little fun with their clothes.
37:01A little girl would love to wear that outfit.
37:03Yes.
37:04A child would be like, Mommy, buy that for me.
37:06Yeah.
37:07Let's move on to Jay.
37:11Even though it was that sophisticated, it still was youthful.
37:15It still had charm.
37:16The knit pants I love.
37:17I think they're really chic.
37:19Yeah.
37:20You had pieces that were great on their own.
37:21The styling was key here.
37:27Okay, let's move on to the designers with the lowest scores.
37:30Let's start with Amy.
37:32If we would have had to guess today who everyone's outfit is, I would have never thought that this
37:37is from Amy.
37:38Different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty.
37:41This was just different for difference sake.
37:43I'm not sure that blue and orange are that complimentary.
37:46Do you think so?
37:47No.
37:52Let's move on to Janine.
37:54To me, it just looked like stuff you bought on Markdown.
37:56Yeah, the jacket is really the worst for me.
37:59This children's outfit was $50.
38:01I think you could buy that for $10.
38:03Jonathan, on the other hand, was very ambitious and he wanted to do a lot of things in two
38:12days.
38:13The conceptual toilet paper twins.
38:15And you're going to put her in a little bolero.
38:17Where are we going?
38:18Let's forget the bolero.
38:19I don't really love the dress.
38:20He did not know how to balance it.
38:26Okay, so we've made our decision.
38:31Okay, let's bring them back out.
38:38The six of you represent the best and the worst.
38:41One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
38:46The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
38:51One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
38:55Jesse, you're in.
38:56You can leave the runway.
38:58Seth Aaron, both of your looks were fantastic.
39:01Your adult model looked chic and polished.
39:03You're in.
39:04You can leave the runway.
39:06Seth Aaron, both of your looks were fantastic.
39:09Your adult model looked chic and polished.
39:11And your little girl looked fresh, age appropriate.
39:14And her outfit also had a sense of humor.
39:17Congratulations.
39:19You are the winner of the challenge.
39:21You can leave the runway.
39:22My daughter is going to be so happy.
39:23Thank you so much.
39:25You are the winner of this challenge.
39:30You can leave the runway.
39:32My daughter's going to be so happy.
39:34Thank you so much.
39:39I was really happy that, if anything, that they got it.
39:44I wanted to win badly, and I think it showed.
39:49Jay, you're in.
39:51Well done.
39:52You can leave the runway.
39:54Jonathan, you're in.
40:03You can leave the runway.
40:04Thank you so much.
40:07Amy, your color palette for both looks was bizarre and mismatched.
40:16Your child's outfit looked like she got dressed in the dark,
40:19and your adult look was clownish.
40:21I think that you missed the big picture and ended up with a mess.
40:25Janine, your looks bored us.
40:30For the adult look, the jacket and pants were terribly tailored.
40:34The girl's outfit basically had no design to it.
40:38The final result was blah.
40:44Amy.
40:47You're in.
40:51You can leave the runway.
40:52Okay.
41:00I'm sorry, Janine.
41:01That means you're out.
41:03I'm sorry.
41:04I'm gonna try.
41:05Auf Wiedersehen.
41:06Thank you so much.
41:14The judges absolutely hated it.
41:17It sucked while it was happening.
41:19But that's gonna make me better.
41:22Janine, I have to send you to the work room to clean up your space.
41:25I'm not stopping because Daddy Gloom said she wouldn't wear any of my pieces.
41:32I'm gonna be international in the next two years.
41:34Not huge, but I'll be around.
41:37I'll be around.
41:40Next time on Project Runway.
41:43There are only ten of you left.
41:44The competition is heating up.
41:48Designers, welcome to Scheman and Grant Hardware.
41:51Scream for help.
41:53The pants are tortured.
41:55Tim, honestly, I just...
41:58I was thinking sort of Elizabethan...
42:00Elizabethan mini?
42:01I don't know.
42:02Your innovation can be the presentation of a bottomless dress.
42:06I'm just perplexed.
42:07What happened?
42:08I mean, that's a full cheese fest.
42:11Boring.
42:12It looks like...
42:13It looks like a dirty vacuum bag.
42:36I mean, that's a kind of head.
42:37It looks like a dirty vacuum.
42:39It looks like the sizedrum could clean up its weight.
42:41Maybe i'll be assimilated, I hope you could play it as a simple one.
42:42There are only threeニング of some bees this day to the tide and
43:00You
