09:43And all sorts of stuff

09:48Instead, you'll have five minutes
09:50To grab whatever you can get your hands on
09:52There are shopping bags

09:55You will have today
09:57To complete this look

15:44I'm definitely having this feeling of wanting to make some sort of fairytale-esque type thing for my daughter Calliope
15:52It's just a compulsive so I like won't let myself go eat until I finish a certain amount of whatever it is that I have to do
15:58My daughter insisted that I try for Project Runway
16:01Like three years ago, I had gotten an opportunity to launch a t-shirt line in London
16:08And the last day that we were there, I took full impact as a pedestrian on a Porsche
16:14I had a severe head injury and my head cracked open three and a half, almost four inches
16:20My neck was broken, I was in a coma for five days
16:23I stayed there for two or three months
16:24I came back to the state, said now I want to see Project Runway
16:28As an attempt to somehow reclaim a life I could have had if I hadn't been hit by the car

25:39has a little bit of like hit or miss to it if sweet pea isn't in trouble I would be
25:44very surprised shiny sleek and just have it come down to one side

27:17coming up on project runway this to me doesn't look wearable and it doesn't look fanciful either

27:43challenge we asked you to create an outfit from unconventional materials at the Hershey store in
27:49Times Square I hope that you've done some exciting work because Hershey's will actually auction off
27:56all of the looks to benefit the young survival coalition a nonprofit organization dedicated to
28:03the issues facing young women with breast cancer let's meet the judges first we have top American
28:11designer Michael course hey guys Nina Garcia fashion director of Elle magazine hello and acclaimed
28:20designer Zach Posen we will score your designs as they come down the runway one of you will be named the
28:26winner one of you will be out let's start the show playing with Hershey's and rappers and all that
28:41stuff made me realize that I need to have fun with this I just kind of threw caution out the window and I love
28:49it my outfit looked exactly how I wanted it to I was just happy to watch and I really wasn't that worried
29:00because I thought it was just amazing I'm so proud of myself the garment is conceptual it's fun it's me and Marie
29:14looks hot I was very satisfied with how the dress looks because it did create the quality I wanted which was a
29:26fairly macabre disturbing Gretel like figure Amanda looks so like elegant and that's exactly what I wanted to go for I
29:39wanted to make like pretty much chocolate wrappers look classy and it totally came through
29:43I thought my outfit looked amazing and when the light hit it you could tell that there was definitely these
29:56tiny cutout shapes and I think a hundred percent you could tell that mine was very me
30:01as Katie walks down the runway I think she looks really cute I am really confident with my design I feel
30:15like it really lends an air of lightness which I wanted
30:19Sam looks amazing I definitely see that it caught Zach Pozen's attention instantly I'm very happy
30:31with the outfit and it feels pretty good I'm cringing just like clenching my teeth not knowing if
30:43something's gonna fall off or not but she looks flawless and it just came together perfectly I have
30:59this idea of ice princess and so you know I wanted to devise this pose that she would do and it was kind
31:07of probably on the quirky side

32:03Rami let's start with you what materials do you use for the top I use the Twizzler plastic pillowcase which
32:20is clear and this is the York wrapping paper I think that the overall effect is really successful it looks
32:26very neat and looks like you have some complicated construction in it I think overall it works thank you
32:33it could have turned out silly looking but it's made really well and it fits her beautifully I think you got
32:41the charm and the spirit of working with all this crazy candy yeah it's great thank you
32:50Elisa tell us a little bit about your dress my goal was to make a beautiful sexy amazing
32:58dress that felt like candy but didn't use candy there were so many amazing things to work with and
33:05i i would have liked to have seen something a little crazier the minute she turned the corner
33:10i'm like where's the joy to me it looks like a brown velvet dress that you'd find in a flea market
33:16and she's got a silver shower cap on her arm yes but it lost your joy it lost the joy of being
33:25fun there's no joy of candy the joy of candy yeah you know it's not wearable but it's not fabulous it didn't
33:32work for me in that way jillian i see some candy on your dress immediately i walked in the store and
33:41i saw the twizzler section and i knew exactly what i wanted to design and how i wanted to use the
33:46materials i like licorice a lot and it's a cute skirt that a young girl would want to wear and it's red
33:52red is a great color it's always fantastic i think it's sexy it's playful and it suits her very well
33:59i think you did a great job well then i guess it's worth all the pain hard work shows i think
34:05it's deliciously chic she actually smells really nice too it's adorable i think it's really well
34:11done well thank you victoria what materials did you use i gathered these huge peppermint patty
34:19pillows and i have to say it's totally wearable you wouldn't wear that i would totally wear that

34:58twizzler um vinyl that a lot of people used right away i kind of knew that i wanted to combine the two

35:11i mean as an effective fantasy it doesn't go there for me certainly i can go to making a parade float
35:18out of candy it's kind of my specialty you got nervous that you were going to like go totally
35:23berserk and it was going to be like just this over-the-top craziness you know i have to look at each
35:29designer differently and from you i have to say i think that this is a really smart editing choice it's
35:37also made well and she's great in it this girl could go into a studio and be shot for the pages of
35:43l she's all set thank you sweet pea what did you use to make your dress i used all kisses hershey's
35:52kiss stuff which was a kiss a stuffed kiss and then this is actually the stuff that they make the little
35:58thing stick out of the kiss so it's tissue it was a little bit on the boring side i have to say
36:05comparatively with the rest it looks like it was very easy well i actually started somewhere
36:12else i had a whole nother dress it has no sense of kind of smile or joy to it to me i am more
36:21simple in my aesthetic but simple can be fantastic i mean i'm not i love simple but comparatively it

37:07i will say though you know sometimes we question his taste level but instead he sent a girl out

37:20grami his girl came out and i was just i smiled i think that he used the materials in an interesting
37:26way and it fit beautifully yeah i don't know if you noticed that under each pleat was a different
37:31part of the print with dots underneath it that's a lot of work it was a lot of work but it was like
37:35smart work so he did it he did good he did excellent yeah
37:43also someone who i think did excellent was jillian oh how charming was that chic sexy yeah movement
37:50sophisticated edible edible well she's the only one who actually had an edible garment yeah and it was
37:58really well done so who were your least favorites alisa if she wants to be this avant-garde which is

38:15saw all that clothing on a rack is she gonna pick her piece to feel cool and be avant-garde i don't think

38:38logo of the candy on it it's just really not inspiring me
