00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Welcome to the red carpet of the Emmy Awards.
00:05For your first challenge, you will create a red carpet look
00:09that represents your point of view as a designer.
00:12What's it going to look like?
00:13A halter dress.
00:14Forgive me, but I'm worried that this is going to look like a halter diaper.
00:17Change of plans. I'm stitching you into this dress.
00:20I'm really worried about my naked model.
00:23Christopher, you are the winner of this challenge.
00:31And you also have immunity for the next challenge.
00:35It's completely unwearable.
00:36She looks like a disco soccer ball.
00:38That means I owe you out.
00:40Someone's got to be the first to leave Project Runway,
00:43and it might as well be me.
00:45This is Project Runway.
00:47Of course I'm the best.
00:48Let's do this.
00:49The search for the next big fashion designer.
00:52I have to win.
00:53You better watch out.
00:55Sixteen designers.
00:56Ivan, you're out.
00:57Don't get cut.
00:58Three finalists will make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
01:02I'm the best designer here.
01:03I have no fear.
01:05Make it work.
01:06That's my one.
01:07But only one can be the winner.
01:09This is my dream.
01:10For these 16 designers, Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:16The winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire Magazine.
01:20A Paris vacation courtesy of Avion.
01:23And $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to start their own life.
01:27It definitely is a wake-up call that Aerie's gone.
01:40I really didn't think she was going to go home, and it definitely woke everyone up.
01:46Like, can't slack on any challenge.
01:48You're going to be an apple.
01:49Making it through the first round is definitely a relief.
01:52Getting kicked off in the first challenge is the nightmare of coming on the Project Runway,
01:57I think.
01:58I did not expect to see the six people up there that we saw up there.
02:02I am just really happy, Mitchell, that you're still here.
02:05The first thing that America's going to know about me is that I didn't send down a naked
02:09lady down the runway.
02:10I love that.
02:11With a beautiful collar.
02:12With a gorgeous collar.
02:13With a beautiful collar.
02:14God.
02:15I mean, I'm not going to lie.
02:16I'm glad that someone else hit the bullet, not me.
02:18I mean, I'm glad to still be here.
02:21I think I deserve to be here.
02:22I may not put in a time and the effort that people have over the past couple of years,
02:26but in this, I am ready to rekindle my dream.
02:29Are we ready?
02:30Let's go see Heidi.
02:31Let's go.
02:32Hello.
02:33Hello.
02:34Welcome back to the runway.
02:51Christopher, you won the first challenge and this gave you immunity for this week.
02:56Congratulations.
02:58You have designed a look for the red carpet and now you'll create a look for an actual
03:04celebrity.
03:07She's a supermodel and a film and television star.
03:12Initially, I'm thinking, is Heidi talking about herself?
03:16Because she kept saying, you know, she's a supermodel and she has a TV show.
03:21And I kept thinking, are we going to make an outfit for Heidi?
03:24And she has a big surprise for you.
03:27She is a mommy-to-be.
03:29Oh .
03:30Oh .
03:31Oh .
03:32Pregnancy challenge.
03:33I have never done a pregnancy outfit before in my life.
03:36I would like to introduce to you, Rebecca Romain.
03:37Oh my God.
03:38Hello.
03:39Hi Heidi.
03:40Hello everyone.
03:41And she's having twins.
03:43Congratulations.
03:46So far, being pregnant has been a wonderful, wonderful experience, but finding fashionable clothing
03:50while pregnant has been very, very difficult.
03:51You do look fabulous.
03:52I have to say though.
03:53First, I thought she should come out in a bathing suit.
03:54Sports Illustrated style.
03:55You wish.
03:56So, guess what?
03:57Your challenge will be to design a pregnancy chic look for Rebecca.
03:59My life definitely doesn't stop just because I'm pregnant.
04:01So, the good news for you all is that you get to create an outfit for any type of event.
04:06It might be something for me to wear to a lunch or to a business meeting or to a
04:11meeting or to a party.
04:12You do look fabulous.
04:13You do look fabulous.
04:14You do look fabulous.
04:15I have to say though.
04:16First, I thought she should come out in a bathing suit.
04:17You wish.
04:18So, guess what?
04:19Your challenge will be to design a pregnancy chic look for Rebecca.
04:21My life definitely doesn't stop just because I'm pregnant.
04:24So, the good news for you all is that you get to create an outfit for any type of event.
04:31It might be something for me to wear to a lunch or to a business meeting or to a party.
04:37It's up to you.
04:38As a woman, you still want to celebrate your shape.
04:41So, I'm looking for something that has a beautiful silhouette.
04:44Okay.
04:45Tim is waiting for you in the work room.
04:47Good luck.
04:48And I'll see you on the runway.
04:50Bye.
04:51Bye.
04:52Let's go.
05:01As you walk into the work room, everyone sees these giant half circled pillows.
05:08And these are the bellies for our models to wear, which I love.
05:12I think it's so great.
05:13Booyah.
05:14Is this where the baby goes?
05:16It doesn't go that way.
05:17No, it has to go under more.
05:19I was wondering why she was so wide.
05:21I have immunity going into the second challenge and I am not letting that deter me from still
05:27doing something that's appropriate for the challenge.
05:30I want all those winning dresses to be mine.
05:33I want to know where, since you're a mom, where does the belly start?
05:38Usually right under the boob area.
05:41I was pregnant twice.
05:43And when I had the big belly, it was important to me to show more shape to my arms and my legs.
05:50So, that's what I'm trying to portray with my outfit for Rebecca.
05:55She looks like she's in her early second semester or trimester.
05:59manuscript.
06:02Hello, designers.
06:03Hey!
06:04As you know, for this challenge, you are designing a pregnancy look.
06:09This must be beautiful.
06:10It must be chic.
06:12And Rebecca has given you one specific criterion.
06:15She wants this look to be form-fitting.
06:17You have 30 minutes to sketch.
06:19Afterwards, we're going shopping at Mood,
06:21where you will have a budget of $100.
06:23You have two days,
06:25and the winner of this challenge will have immunity.
06:28All right?
06:29Okay, great.
06:30All right, I will be back in 30 minutes.
06:32Thank you, everyone.
06:39Designing for someone that's pregnant
06:41is definitely a challenge for me.
06:43I've never really had a lot of pregnant women in my life.
06:47That's not really my deal.
06:49Babies kind of scare me, I guess.
06:51Having seen the first round,
06:52I know what the judges want now.
06:54I think what they really want from me
06:56is to combine concept with construction
06:59that is very wearable and fashion-forward.
07:02Being in the top three for the first challenge
07:04is an amazing experience.
07:06I think in this competition,
07:08I have to push myself to go further
07:11and not do the expected.
07:13I'm ready for fabrics.
07:14All right, designers.
07:15Your sketching time is up.
07:17We are going shopping.
07:18Let's head out.
07:24You have your $100 budget.
07:26You have 30 minutes to shop.
07:28Go, go, go.
07:29All right?
07:30Oh, so many choices.
07:35Going into the second challenge,
07:37I don't really have many doubts in my mind.
07:39It's just finding the right fabric and executing it.
07:42What about that?
07:43I'm going to make a dress and a coat,
07:45so hopefully, you know, that will step it up,
07:47because most people are just making dresses.
07:50I have made one maternity dress before,
07:55but it was a bridesmaid's dress,
07:58and that's a whole other can of worms
08:00that you don't want to open.
08:02Designers, you have two minutes remaining.
08:05Sorry, you make a mess.
08:07I apologize.
08:08Oh, .
08:09I need thread.
08:10Excuse me.
08:11I might be a little stressed,
08:12but it's only because I'm focused
08:14and I got to just remember I have to stay centered.
08:16Crystal.
08:17I'm done?
08:18That's it?
08:19No, just deep breaths.
08:20Deep breaths.
08:2199.59 with that.
08:24Perfect.
08:25Okay, everyone.
08:26Woo-hoo!
08:27Time is up.
08:28All right?
08:29Let's head back to the workroom.
08:30Thank you, Moon.
08:31Thanks, Moon.
08:33Bye.
08:38Round two.
08:39Here we go.
08:44This belly's really huge.
08:46It's twins.
08:47I mean, you don't really realize it
08:49until you put cloth over it
08:51how pregnant it is.
08:54I definitely don't think designing maternity
08:56for me is that far of a stretch.
08:58There shouldn't be such a drastic sort of gap
09:01between regular clothes and maternity clothes.
09:04I'm not going to do what everyone else is going to do.
09:06I'm going to keep it really to my aesthetic
09:08of like tailored and refined.
09:10I anticipate everyone else is going to be all about Drake
09:13and Chloe and goddessy and pee in the pod.
09:15All right, I'm done.
09:16All right.
09:17Woo!
09:18Yay!
09:21My concept is that I want to use ribbon and create a bodice,
09:27but I have kept the bottom jersey so she'd be comfortable
09:31while still looking great.
09:35You know what?
09:36My original plan changed.
09:37Yeah, already.
09:38It's been five minutes.
09:40Going in a different direction here,
09:41but I'm really liking what I've got going on.
09:44I mean, it doesn't matter what,
09:45you always want to produce something you're proud of,
09:47you know?
09:50I'm working on a 1920s negligee-inspired cocktail dress.
09:55It's something that I'm kind of known for,
09:57and it has a lace applique top that I hand-dyed.
10:01My concept revolves around the idea of fertility.
10:03I'm playing around with images of eggs, bird's nests.
10:07Basically, this look is called the mother hen.
10:09In the back of my head, I keep hearing Nina say,
10:14don't play it safe,
10:16because that's what she said to me.
10:18It feels like you played it a little safe.
10:20The nerves are here.
10:21The nerves definitely are here.
10:22For me, it's almost like I need to continue that momentum
10:26from the first challenge.
10:28It's really important to remain on top,
10:29so this is a challenge.
10:31I have to bring it.
10:32Like, I have to win this.
10:34I don't know what to do with the top of this.
10:36It's driving crazy.
10:40Coming up on Project My Life.
10:42I'm going to do a pair of jog first, like chicken thighs.
10:45Oh, elbow.
10:47There's definitely some dresses in that room
10:50that are neither fitted nor chic.
10:53I don't think Rebecca would, like, wear any of that anywhere.
10:56This challenge is to design an outfit for Rebecca Romaine,
11:07the supermodel, television actress,
11:09and the curveball is that she is pregnant.
11:13I do think that it's difficult to design
11:15for somebody who's pregnant,
11:17especially someone with twins who is very pregnant.
11:20Are you ladder smoking?
11:21Yes, I am.
11:22Oh, how fun.
11:23Oh, it's like a braid.
11:24Yeah.
11:25Yeah, that's really pretty.
11:26The only problem is it takes a while.
11:28All good things take a while.
11:30Is that the saying?
11:31I think there's a lot of really cool designs.
11:34I love Malvin's design, the idea that's like this egg.
11:36I think that's super cool.
11:38So he's definitely someone that I'm really looking forward
11:40to seeing the end result.
11:41I love the idea of a sweater, because that's so comfy.
11:43Yeah, because the sweater fabric may be a tiny bit sheer.
11:46Uh-huh.
11:47I bought a t-shirt fabric.
11:49You can just make a tank top.
11:50I'm like, I'm not doing, I'm not going to take any chance.
11:53Not going down that route.
11:54Not taking any chance.
11:55That would be hilarious to be like,
11:56what is your sexual nudity?
11:58I'm not looking to go out on a limb
12:00and win this challenge.
12:02I want to stick with being safe.
12:03I'm doing, like, these little gathered shorts.
12:06They're gathered all the way around with the belly band.
12:09I'm designing these cute little shorts.
12:11They are gathered throughout.
12:14They sit very low and are pretty short.
12:17Look.
12:18Oh, my gosh.
12:20Oh, my gosh.
12:21What?
12:22What is that?
12:23Those are some big girl pants.
12:26Put those on right now.
12:29Nicholas.
12:31I heard you're having twins.
12:34So I made you the biggest name short.
12:35It's fine.
12:36Mitchell has designed commercially for pregnant women,
12:38so he definitely has an edge on something that women
12:42would wear every single day.
12:44Did you fit in it?
12:45Could you put both legs in there?
12:46Here, wait.
12:47Wait.
12:48Get in.
12:49Get in.
12:50Careful.
12:51Oh, my God, y'all.
12:53Don't dance.
12:54I have to gather them so they'll fit my model.
12:57Those things are huge.
13:00They're some kind of fierce.
13:01Okay.
13:02It's the end of the day, and I'm feeling pretty good.
13:05Rebecca, I have a dress for you.
13:08You wear it.
13:09Do you like it?
13:10My dress is pretty much done.
13:12All I have to do is some finishing touches on the dress
13:14and start on my coat.
13:15Let's go.
13:18How do you like your dress?
13:20I just want to finish it.
13:34It's strange working with, like, a big belly.
13:37So, Malvin, you think they're gonna throw us bananas?
13:40I don't think they will.
13:41For them to do anything like that, we'd all be...
13:43I mean, I wouldn't have pants.
13:45All right, guys, let's go finish this.
13:47Yeah, stay focused.
13:55That's work.
13:56That's work.
14:02Isn't it amazing how one day you can be completely stuck,
14:06and the next day, I don't know what happens, you know,
14:09it's just, like, everything just flows.
14:13Did you thread it?
14:14You have to thread this.
14:15Oh, it wasn't threaded?
14:16No, no, no.
14:17Crap.
14:18I'm so sorry.
14:19The thing that I am playing around with is perspective.
14:23I'm a little anxious to see what Tam's view on it will be.
14:27Hi, everybody.
14:28Hey.
14:29How are you?
14:30Just gonna check in with you, okay?
14:32And I'm gonna start with Althea.
14:34Hey.
14:35So, where is she going in this?
14:37I was thinking luncheon.
14:39Well, because it is a jersey, so it's comfortable.
14:41Luncheon?
14:42Well, like, in a very important one.
14:43I'll say.
14:44Yeah.
14:45Althea, I would give up even trying to write a scenario for this being day.
14:48It just doesn't do that.
14:49Okay, just forget it.
14:50Okay, Althea, thank you very much.
14:52Okay, cool.
14:53Thank you very much.
14:54Hi, Louise.
14:55Hey.
14:56How are you doing?
14:57I'm applying this lace right now that I hand dyed.
15:00You dyed this?
15:01Mm-hmm.
15:02Very nice.
15:03I'm a little worried that it's looking too nightgown-y, though.
15:05If your viscera says, uh-oh.
15:07Yeah.
15:08It's about to be true.
15:09Talk to me.
15:10Okay.
15:11I wanted to show off her legs, so I am making a little pair of shorts and then a simple fitted
15:17sweater, and I'm working on the t-shirt right now.
15:19Why the t-shirt at all?
15:20After the last challenge, I don't want anything to be shared.
15:22I'm scared to death of it.
15:23Okay.
15:24I'm putting something on the runway this time.
15:26She's going to be fully covered.
15:27She better be.
15:28I promise.
15:29All right, thank you.
15:30Thank you, Tim.
15:32Hi, Sharon.
15:33This criss-cross effect is very beautiful.
15:35Oh, thank you.
15:36I just have to do the hem and then start on the jacket.
15:38Really?
15:39You're doing a jacket?
15:40Yeah.
15:41Out of what?
15:42Out of wool, this wool.
15:43And I'm going to line it with this, because I wanted to put a print somewhere.
15:46I mean, I love the idea of the jacket with the lining.
15:48Yeah.
15:49And it will show that you're stepping up and out.
15:51But it just has to be the right jacket.
15:52Yeah.
15:53It just has to be the right jacket.
15:54Okay.
15:55So, talk to me.
15:56So, the concept behind this is fertility.
15:59I brought in motifs.
16:00She's fertile.
16:01It's her egg.
16:02I brought in motifs of a hen and her egg.
16:05So, I have this, like, feather ring thing going on.
16:07And then underneath it, I'm going to do a pair of jog first.
16:10Does it come away from the hip, the way it shows in the drawing?
16:13Yeah, it does come away from the hip.
16:15Why are you doing that?
16:16What woman wants her hips to look wider?
16:17I don't know.
16:18It was more for the concept, like, chicken thighs.
16:20Oh, Melvin.
16:21Which I should...
16:22Imagine yourself saying that on the runway to Rebecca.
16:25Chicken thighs.
16:26I know.
16:27I know.
16:28You just need to be mindful of this not going into costume land.
16:31Okay.
16:32Where it could go.
16:33Okay?
16:34Okay.
16:35It's very interesting.
16:37I am not bored.
16:39Thank you, Melvin.
16:40Hi, Ramon.
16:41Talk to me.
16:42What are you doing?
16:43How?
16:44A cocktail dress that's color-blocked.
16:46So, from one perspective, you know, it gives her a little bit of a slim silhouette.
16:50I wonder whether these panels in the light gray against this darker purple aren't making
16:56it come out even more.
16:57I mean, but you said you wanted to celebrate it.
16:59Well, I think you are.
17:00Yeah.
17:01Yeah, definitely.
17:02You've given it a fanfare.
17:03I mean, she's...
17:04I just keep hearing Nina's voice saying, don't be safe.
17:06So, I'm trying to...
17:07Don't.
17:08Don't be safe without being cuckoo.
17:10Cuckoo has already happened.
17:11Okay.
17:12With me?
17:13No.
17:14Not with you.
17:15Okay.
17:16I do agree with Tim's assessment of my dress.
17:25It does look a little like a nightgown.
17:27So, I'm trying to line it and give it a second layer hanging out from the bottom.
17:33I'm not intimidated by the fact that mine isn't like anybody else's.
17:37I think that's a good thing.
17:38I think fashion needs to take risks and I think I'm working in that direction.
17:43Oh, it's cute.
17:44Let's just hold your bowling bag next to it.
17:47What?
17:48It looks a little bit like a bowling ball.
17:49It looks really good.
17:50You'll probably win.
17:51It looks really good.
17:52I have to go.
17:53I have to leave the room.
17:54No, don't.
17:55Come here.
17:56No, stop it.
17:57Are you serious?
17:58No, stop it.
17:59Come here.
18:00No, it looks good.
18:01It looks a lot better from here.
18:02Oh my God.
18:03It's a bowling bag.
18:04No, it's not.
18:05No, I'm sorry.
18:06I didn't mean it like that.
18:07It looks a lot better from here.
18:09Well, they're not that far away from the back.
18:10No, it looks good.
18:11It's very streamlined.
18:12We're over now.
18:13It was in the same roller skate or something.
18:25Designers, I am sending in your models for a fitting.
18:39So all the models come in, Katie comes over, gives me a big hug.
18:44The first thing we did is get her pregnant.
18:46Oh, my God.
18:47Look, it's you.
18:48Oh, my God.
18:49Silly.
18:50You're not laughing.
18:51I'm having back pains already.
18:53Does it look real?
18:54Yes.
18:55It does.
18:56You look like you're about to pop.
18:58I know some people have, like, different shape bellies, too.
19:01That's so cool.
19:02I'm having back pains already.
19:04Does it look real?
19:05Yes.
19:06It does.
19:07You look like you're about to pop.
19:08That's true.
19:09So mine was a rocket.
19:11My model, actually, she has a two-year-old, and she was really excited about the dress,
19:15and that made me feel good since I don't have that experience.
19:18I've been there.
19:19I know what I'm doing.
19:20Yeah, no kidding.
19:21Man.
19:22Lucky me.
19:23Pose this way.
19:25I'll step back this way.
19:26There you go.
19:27Y'all didn't know I taught runway classes, did you?
19:30Designers and models, time is up.
19:35Ramon, time was up five minutes ago.
19:37Oh, it was.
19:38All the models are gone.
19:39Yes.
19:40Finish this up right now.
19:41Okay.
19:42Getting kind of nervous.
19:43Now you are?
19:44Yeah.
19:45I've been nervous.
19:46I went into a shade that I wouldn't normally do.
19:50It's a little bit drab in a way, and the jacket looks a little bit Easter Sunday.
19:54Kind of worried that it may get me into the bottom three.
19:56Johnny's jacket is outdated.
19:57I mean, Rebecca Romaine's not going to wear that.
19:59She won't even dust with that jacket.
20:01That's so mean.
20:02There's definitely some dresses in that room that are neither fitted nor chic.
20:09I don't think Rebecca would, like, wear any of that anywhere.
20:12All right, designers.
20:14Time is up.
20:15We are leaving for the night.
20:17Thank you, Tim.
20:18I do need to leave.
20:19I'm exhausted.
20:20Coming up on Project Runway.
20:21Did somebody see my small scissors?
20:22The needle broke.
20:23It's hard to envision where everyone's going to kind of be.
20:24The shorts are looking sloppy.
20:25We're out.
20:26Oh, hot messes.
20:27Are you guys going to miss me?
20:28Where are you going?
20:29Eliminated.
20:30I'm out.
20:31But you guys, we're almost, you guys are almost done with your outfits, right?
20:33No.
20:34No, I don't know what to stay ahead lies.
20:35I'm out.
20:36I'm out.
20:37I'm out.
20:38I'm out.
20:39I'm out.
20:40I'm out.
20:41I'm out.
20:42I'm out.
20:43I'm out.
20:44I'm out.
20:45I'm out.
20:46I'm out.
20:47I'm out.
20:48I'm out.
20:49I'm out.
20:50I'm out.
20:51My head lies.
20:52How much work do you have to do?
20:53Ham.
20:54Put in the zipper.
20:55Put in the binding.
20:56Check the last fitting around the preggers.
20:59Alien.
21:00I know.
21:01It's an alien.
21:02This morning, I'm having a few doubts.
21:05I think my little egg nest.
21:08I need to make it more literal.
21:12I'm a little anxious today because I want to get to the work room in order to finish my piece
21:18to make it look runway ready.
21:19All right.
21:20Let's go.
21:21We're going to stay focused, right?
21:22Focus.
21:23Focus.
21:24Everybody ready?
21:25I know.
21:26I'm coming.
21:27I'm coming.
21:28I'm coming.
21:29Look.
21:30You crossed out eat and sleep.
21:31So now we only have design.
21:32That's all we do.
21:37My zipper broke.
21:38I have to stitch her into this thing today.
21:40Damn it.
21:41I didn't want to do that.
21:42I'm a little worried about finishing the shorts and I am going as fast as I can.
21:47I'm pushing it, pushing it, pushing it, trying to get these made.
21:49You look to the right of the room, drapey, drapey sophisticated.
21:53You look to the left of the room, structure tailored.
21:56Oh, hot messes.
21:58Is everyone not realizing that they're designing for Rebecca Romijn?
22:03So, am I really the front runner?
22:06Because nobody's choosing to take that risk.
22:10Here's Stella all of a sudden.
22:13Working on your leather.
22:16Good morning, everybody.
22:17Good morning, Sam.
22:18You have two hours to fit your models, to send them to the Garnier hair studio and the L'Oreal Paris makeup room.
22:24All right.
22:25Use the Macy's accessory wall thoughtfully and just pull it all together so you have a fantastic, fantastic look to present.
22:36All right.
22:37I am sending in your models.
22:43Let's put your belly on.
22:44Tie it tight so baby doesn't come down.
22:46All right.
22:48When Matara gets to the room, you know, I put the dress on her and it fits pretty much perfectly.
22:53The color looks gorgeous on her.
22:55I know we had the fitting and I measured it, but then when I put it on the mannequin, I didn't know if it would lay flat, yeah.
23:00Tanisha, she looks good in it.
23:02However, the cups seem to be smaller on her than they did the last fitting.
23:07Oh, my God.
23:08We're in big trouble.
23:09In trying to create a balanced look, I gathered too much and the shorts, instead of looking feminine and fun and with great movement, they are looking sloppy.
23:21Oh, yeah, this is gonna work.
23:25Uh-oh, your baby fell.
23:26Let's take you to hair.
23:30Very simple with the hair.
23:31Nothing like big and fruity.
23:33Your hair's gonna be in a big fro.
23:35If we had like a plump and then like a maternal.
23:37I figured it's so cute.
23:38Why mess with it?
23:40Yes, perfect.
23:41All right, sweetie.
23:42I'll see you in a little bit.
23:43All right.
23:44The needle broke.
23:45I don't believe it.
23:46As soon as I start.
23:47Right now, my only concern is that I have a lot of hand work left to do.
23:59Of course, I've got all the applique work that I need to do on the front of the bodice.
24:02Somebody see my small scissors.
24:04I was gonna do the feathers on the pants.
24:06But then, um, I think it'd be too costumely.
24:10I'm very anxious to see my model on the runway.
24:13Because I know that a lot of the other designs are very similar.
24:17I think there are some designers in that room that have something to say.
24:20I think they just haven't found it yet.
24:22They haven't cracked the egg, so to speak.
24:25Crap!
24:26I keep sewing the other side.
24:30It's hard to envision where everyone's gonna kind of be.
24:33Right.
24:34Because everyone's still sewing.
24:35I think I'm gonna do pretty good.
24:37I think I might have another top spot on my hands.
24:40If not, I, well, I mean, I'm fine because I have immunity.
24:44That's why I like being with you, because everything's on.
24:46Because we're done.
24:47We're ready.
24:48We'll see who else is ready.
24:50That's why we're the last one sewing.
24:52I'm just glad my model has clothes on.
24:54Designers, models, we are going to the runway.
25:00Everybody, come on out.
25:02Logan.
25:03I got him.
25:04Mitchell.
25:05Wow.
25:06Coming up on Project Runway.
25:09It almost looks like here is the baby.
25:11I've never been pregnant, but I tried to imagine myself pregnant.
25:15But the execution, I don't think it worked out.
25:18She is a mess.
25:19She's a pregnant mess.
25:24Hello.
25:25Hi.
25:26Welcome to the runway.
25:27As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
25:31There are 15 of you here today, and after tonight, there will be 14.
25:36For this challenge, you were asked to design a pregnancy chic look for the lovely and fashionable
25:41Rebecca Romaine.
25:42She asked for something that is stylish, and it shows off her pregnancy curves.
25:51You had two days and $100 to put it together.
25:54All right, let's meet the judges.
25:56Filling in for Michael Kors today is Monique Lullier.
25:59She's known for her gorgeous gowns and celebrity clientele.
26:05Welcome.
26:07Fashion director for Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
26:10Hi, everyone.
26:11The beautiful and pregnant TV star, Rebecca Romaine.
26:16Hi, guys.
26:19And just so you guys know, we all have been pregnant, okay?
26:23So we know what we're talking about, especially today.
26:26Let's start the show.
26:33My look is definitely more ready to wear.
26:36I chose kind of a gold foil leather, which I think kind of makes it more elegant and more expensive.
26:43My design came out exactly like I wanted it to.
26:46She looks beautiful in the coat and the dress, and she pulls it off perfectly.
26:51My model is walking down the runway, and as she comes out, I notice something very strange.
26:57Her skirt keeps going up and up.
27:00I mean, she still looks amazing, but I see Heidi writing something frantically, and I'm really nervous.
27:08I feel like my point of view really came across in this piece.
27:11It has volume to it, it has texture, and it lets me show who I am as a designer.
27:17I think my model looks like a very, very hip girl coming down the runway.
27:23She looks like she's ready to go out in the town with her girlfriends.
27:26She's happy with her overall look, and I think it really shows when she walks in the runway.
27:32My model is working the dress.
27:34I mean, she's walking, it's flowing, the color looks great on her.
27:37I mean, she looks extremely trendy in style and silhouette.
27:41It's sexy.
27:45I'm watching her walk, but at the same time I'm watching the judges.
27:48So I did a jumpsuit that's not way off, it's not tacky.
27:52It was really elegant.
27:53It was totally different from everybody else's.
27:55It looks so fantastic.
27:59It's just something that I would totally wear.
28:01That was my baby and I put so much work into it.
28:07My design is so elegant and so well put together.
28:11She looks a little bit like Rebecca Romine with her hair, so I'm very happy.
28:17The look portrayed everything I wanted it to portray.
28:24It was calm and serene and easy.
28:27It just flows, the styling is perfect.
28:29She looks the way I want her to look.
28:33I love the pants, I love the top.
28:35It doesn't look exactly like an egg.
28:38I feel that the pieces are flattering towards a woman's body.
28:42What I see before me is a very chic, elegant, pregnant young woman
28:51who is wearing a very artistic creation.
28:54Looking at the judges' expressions, they are like stone cold.
29:05I love my little roughly jacket.
29:08I want to take that thing off my mall and wear it out the door.
29:11I really like the color and the way that I've draped the bottom of it.
29:19I'm feeling pretty good.
29:21There's things that I'm not certain of that could go really wrong,
29:24so I'm not feeling relaxed.
29:30I'm watching my model come down the runway and she's glowing
29:33and I asked her to have a big smile and she did.
29:36And that's exactly what I wanted.
29:38It's just a fun little dress.
29:41If I call your name, please step forward.
29:42Louise.
29:43Mitchell.
29:44Althea.
29:45Malvin.
29:46Shiren.
29:47Roman.
29:48If I did not call your name, congratulations.
29:50Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next challenge.
29:51You can leave the runway.
29:57The six of you represent the best and the worst.
29:58One of you will be named the winner.
29:59And one of you will be out.
30:00The six of you represent the best and the worst.
30:04One of you will be named the winner.
30:05And one of you will be out.
30:06Let's bring out your models.
30:07The six of you represent the best and the worst.
30:08One of you will be named the winner.
30:09And one of you will be out.
30:10Let's bring out your models.
30:11First of all, I have to say our models look heavily pregnant.
30:12The only two of you will be able to move on to the next challenge.
30:13You can leave the runway.
30:19The six of you represent the best and the worst.
30:23One of you will be named the winner.
30:25And one of you will be out.
30:27Let's bring out your models.
30:31First of all, I have to say our models look heavily pregnant.
30:41They're all about to give birth.
30:43They must be all like a week away.
30:46I would like to start with Roman.
30:48So tell us about your look.
30:50I created a cocktail dress for Rebecca.
30:53I thought, what would I design for her if she was not pregnant?
30:57And then reinterpret that for an actual maternity piece.
31:00I think the dress is a little too busy for my taste.
31:03And I think the construction is also sloppy.
31:06It almost looks like here is the baby.
31:09She's pointing to here is the baby.
31:11It's like arrows, it's like racing stripes.
31:14Yes, it's almost too confusing.
31:16Definitely not what I was going for.
31:18It's not so easy making pregnancy.
31:20No, I've never done it before.
31:22This was like a stretch for me.
31:25Let's continue with Louise.
31:28I've pleated this here so that the pleats kind of open up.
31:31You know, when the bust grows, it doesn't stay too tight in there.
31:35And this little slip underneath is adjustable.
31:38It's a little like lingerie, but I like that.
31:42Where would you wear it to?
31:43Probably on a date with my husband.
31:45Yeah.
31:47Can we see the back?
31:49Yeah, it's very cute.
31:50There's a lot of good things happening in this design from all the details in the sleeve
31:56to the inset of the lace.
31:57I love the fact that it's tiered because you can accommodate the different stages.
32:02Good job.
32:04Althea, tell us about where your pregnant model is going.
32:09I've never been pregnant, but I tried to imagine myself pregnant.
32:13And I thought this really was like an evening dress for you.
32:17It kept it in like a jersey because I wanted you to be comfortable.
32:21I wanted to make sure you had tons of support.
32:23And like you said, you wanted to show off your beautiful pregnancy curves.
32:26I love the way it accentuates the back.
32:28You know, the lines of her body look beautiful.
32:30And it's appropriate for many different types of evening occasions.
32:35Well, I happen to love the color that you chose.
32:38And I also love the jersey.
32:40The only thing is I would add more room in the cups of the bust
32:43because I think it's a little exposed.
32:45But I think the tailoring and the detail is perfection.
32:48I do like the fact that you made this a long dress.
32:52You also want to feel very covered and elegant.
32:56But as a whole, I think that it's a beautiful dress.
32:59Thank you very much.
33:00Malvin.
33:01I created a day look for you.
33:03I drew reference to a mother hen and her egg.
33:06And I wanted to create that almost embracing cocoon,
33:10like nest over an egg, something that's very precious.
33:13I think it's something very casual,
33:15but it has a touch of sophistication and chicness.
33:18What's the black?
33:20Made out of?
33:21It's made out of silk organza.
33:22And the feathers you see here, I've done appliqueing
33:25and I've cut them to look like feathers.
33:27Can I see how that...
33:29So these are ties.
33:30That's very beautiful.
33:32Had you just kept going on that black detailing and the...
33:37Okay.
33:38Then what is disturbing is the sling.
33:40It's the...
33:41Because the sling is the sling.
33:42She's had the baby and she's carrying it in the sling.
33:45Do you really want to look like a chicken that has the egg?
33:49I think I may have been too attached to my concept.
33:54Mitchell, where is she going?
33:56She's going to lunch with her girlfriends,
33:58maybe going shopping, living her day-to-day activities.
34:01As a whole, I like the idea that you did these cute little shorts
34:04and the top and the jacket.
34:06I just think, wow, how difficult is it to make a pair of shorts?
34:10The shorts are too short on the front.
34:12You can see the band.
34:14The t-shirt's too tight.
34:15It's like she's a mess.
34:17She is a mess.
34:19She's a pregnant mess.
34:20I have some difficulties with the shorts.
34:22I've never sewn in a pregnancy band before.
34:23Well, I mean, I appreciate that you went for a kind of cool urban look,
34:27but the execution, I don't think it worked out.
34:31Just because we sit here doesn't mean we don't have good eyes.
34:36Yeah.
34:37Sharon.
34:38The main thing I wanted to focus on was comfort
34:41because, you know, I'm sure when you're pregnant,
34:43you have enough things that make you uncomfortable.
34:44I decided to put a coat over it with a fun print on the inside.
34:48The lining is really pretty.
34:49Yeah.
34:50I really like that, the way you did the waistband.
34:52Yeah, I did some handwork along the waist.
34:55I loved how you draped not only the front but the back.
34:57I mean, there's no bad angle to this dress.
35:00I think you should get into the maternity business.
35:03I think you'll do really well.
35:04I've never done maternity, so I'm impressed.
35:06This was a challenge at first because once you start draping on it,
35:09it's like, oh my God, there's a bump on the mannequin.
35:11I think you delivered something that is very versatile,
35:15very nicely done with very nice details.
35:18Thank you so much.
35:20Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
35:23We're going to have a little chat and then we'll call you back.
35:26You can leave the runway.
35:31All right, let's talk about the designers that we didn't like so much.
35:34Let's start with Roman.
35:37It kind of looked like a bowling ball bag.
35:39All that construction and then maybe if it was like all one color.
35:43Black and black with different mats of black.
35:46From the front, she looked quite slimming because that's what he wanted to do,
35:49but then she turned sideways and it's like...
35:52Bowling ball bag.
35:57Let's move on to Mitchell, which was very, very interesting.
36:00I have friends who would wear that.
36:02You know what I mean?
36:03Like I see that girl either running to the grocery store with a really cute pair of sandals.
36:08If those shorts were well done shorts, I would wear those.
36:12I would wear them too.
36:13Those dirty little shorts.
36:14But they, as a matter of fact, look like I actually sewed them myself.
36:18And I can't sew.
36:19Oh.
36:22Okay, let's move on to Melvin.
36:24It's really bizarre.
36:25I don't think any pregnant woman wants to be thought of as the chicken.
36:30I don't want to look like an egg.
36:31The egg.
36:32No, but he went really all the way.
36:34Because he said, you know, the egg and the chicken and then the little feathers on it.
36:40It was like, it was, it was bizarre.
36:43Yeah.
36:44He had a concept.
36:45You have to give it to him.
36:46He did have a concept.
36:47He did have a concept.
36:50All right, let's talk about the designers and the designs that we did like.
36:54Let's talk about Shirin.
36:57That waistline was beautiful.
36:59She offered up a coat and the coat was beautiful and it was lined.
37:03You had the shoulder drape, you know, the drape yarn.
37:06Yet with all that draping, it was not too much.
37:08I think hers is the most wearable.
37:13Let's talk about Althea.
37:15One of my favorite things about this dress was the side draping.
37:18Ugh.
37:19And then the part where you want to feel smallest and the small of the back was nice.
37:23Yeah.
37:24And it went down in a, in a V, which also is very slimming and it gives you nice.
37:28Yeah.
37:29It was elegant.
37:30Yeah.
37:31It was elegant.
37:32I thought that was quite a pretty dress.
37:33And the color choice was excellent.
37:35Yeah.
37:36Really nice.
37:39Let's move on to Louise.
37:41Again, I think it's something I would, I would wear on a date.
37:44I don't know if you want to be walking around and something that looks like you're in lingerie and you're pregnant.
37:50That's the reason you got that.
37:52I think it's a pretty little dress.
37:55This did not look like, you know, someone sewed it together in a day and a half.
37:58Right.
37:59I mean, she thought about it.
38:00Yeah.
38:01She had all these details.
38:02She colored the lace.
38:03I mean.
38:04It was really well executed.
38:05Very well executed.
38:06All right.
38:07So we've made our decision.
38:08Yeah.
38:09Yeah.
38:10Yeah.
38:11Okay.
38:12Let's bring them back out.
38:13One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
38:34Louise, you're in.
38:35You can leave the runway.
38:37And now for the winner.
38:38Rebecca, who won this challenge?
38:39Congratulations.
38:40Shiren.
38:41One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
38:50Luis, you're in. You can leave the runway.
38:58And now for the winner. Rebecca, who won this challenge?
39:02Congratulations.
39:08Shirin.
39:11We thought your look was elegant, absolutely beautifully executed, and any one of us would wear it, pregnant or not.
39:18Congratulations.
39:19Thank you so much. Thank you.
39:21Good job. You cannot be eliminated in the next challenge. You have immunity.
39:25You can leave the runway.
39:26Thanks.
39:27I won! It's amazing!
39:29It feels pretty good.
39:33This is nice!
39:34That little mama!
39:35That little mama!
39:38Althea, you're in.
39:40You can leave the runway.
39:45Roman, you're in.
39:47You can leave the runway.
39:49Thank you so much. Thank you.
39:56Mitchell, Melvin, one of you will be out.
40:00Malvin, your chicken-egg look was just not flattering.
40:06It was complicated, but not in a good way.
40:10And truthfully, it was just too bizarre.
40:14Mitchell, though we liked your overall concept, the sloppiness of your sewing and presentation were basically not acceptable.
40:23There is really no excuse, and we're not impressed.
40:30Malvin, you're out.
40:38Mitchell, you just squeaked by.
40:41Malvin, you have to up your game, and you have to show us that you deserve to be here.
40:46You can leave the runway.
40:53All the best to you.
40:57Thank you so much, honey.
40:58Thank you so much.
41:00Thank you so much.
41:03It's so great.
41:05I'm too conceptual for America.
41:06Yeah.
41:07One of the best things about this experience is that I've learned how strong I am grounded
41:15as a designer, as a philosopher, and as a person.
41:18Hi, everybody.
41:19It's intense, isn't it?
41:20Yeah.
41:21Yeah.
41:22Yeah.
41:23It is.
41:24Malvin, I hate to lose you, but I have to send you back to the work room to clean up your
41:27space.
41:28That's fine.
41:29Okay?
41:30Love you.
41:31Bye.
41:32Bye.
41:33I know that I'll always have something to say, and I know that how I say it will always
41:38be different, and my voice just gets stronger with every struggle that I encounter.
41:48Next week on Project Runway.
41:49You will be working in teams of two.
41:52I'm going to grab.
41:53You take it to cut.
41:54One.
41:55In our relationship, I can't always tell you that you're perfect, okay?
41:58I think we're going to be in trouble.
42:00You're putting on a show.
42:01I'm not putting on a show.
42:02It's really about to get high.
42:05I want to ensure that you're not just instantly disqualified.
42:08It's unfair.
42:09Go, go, go.
42:10I need some Tylenol.
42:13On Project Runway, you actually have to sew.
42:15You look at the other piece.
42:17What is this?
42:18Now here, it's not classy.
42:47It is true.
42:48I really am.
42:49First, thank you.
42:50Perfect.
42:51Then if you do, the first product quick, you can掃 뻗 with the things that you
42:52had to befrost.
42:53Everything has to be finished.
42:54You never saw it.
42:56There, I mean, you did necessarily know that what would happen.
42:58It is possible to leave to the anderes that you could cook.
42:59It could mean if there's a ratio of two people in your
43:03affiliates for produce, but it may be simple grammatim.
43:05I can't even cost you anänge.
43:07You were going to buy a new booth.
43:08That's the same gallery.
43:09What is it?
43:11What is his favorite?
