00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03You will be designing lingerie,
00:05and I will choose four of you to be team leaders.
00:08The team leaders are Diana, Daniel Vocevic,
00:12Daniel Franco, and Santino.
00:14Just finish it. Just finish it.
00:16Emmett is dead weight.
00:17You're not listening to me, and that's going to be a problem.
00:19Don't cut the sides.
00:21It's going to look like we didn't have time to finish.
00:28Santino.
00:29None of us liked your collection.
00:32It's aesthetically not pleasing.
00:34I think lingerie is sexy,
00:35and I think it's supposed to come off, is what I think.
00:39Congratulations, Daniel. You won this challenge.
00:43If there's one person you would have to choose to be out,
00:46I'll take the blame.
00:50Daniel, you are out.
00:54Auf Wiedersehen.
00:55Auf Wiedersehen.
00:56At stake for the winner of Project Runway is a fashion spread in Elle magazine,
01:02a mentorship with the Banana Republic design team,
01:05a 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster,
01:08and $100,000 courtesy of Saturn to start your own line.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14Let's get it on.
01:15To search for the next big fashion designer.
01:18This is a dream come true.
01:19I'm going to do whatever it takes to win.
01:2116 designers.
01:22Everyone here is crazy.
01:24Drama has to happen.
01:25Yes, I'm a competitive person.
01:27Three finalists will make it to Olympus Fashion Week.
01:30You will see me at Fashion Week.
01:31But only one can be the winner.
01:34Heck yeah, I'm going to win this.
01:35For these 16 designers, Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:39I'm sad because Daniel Frankel left and, you know, I thought he would be saved.
01:57And I thought Centennial would go.
01:59You know, who's being very honorable.
02:01And I thought he was a really good person.
02:03I'm going to all tear up again.
02:08You know, I think probably the red designer went home.
02:11Even though it looked hazy with Centennial being so defensive with the judges.
02:16They can come for me again and again and again and every time I can be on the chopping block.
02:21But I won't ever apologize for what I have done.
02:31Hello.
02:32Hello.
02:33Are you guys ready for your next challenge?
02:35Yes.
02:36You will be designing a party dress for one of America's hottest young socialites to wear for a night on the town.
02:47Tim will give you the details in a little bit.
02:50But first, let's bring out the winning and losing designers models.
03:01Models, this also is a competition for you as well.
03:07The model paired with the winner of Project Runway will get a fashion spread in Elle magazine.
03:13Daniel, you were the winner of the last challenge.
03:16Your model was Rebecca.
03:18If you decide to stay with her, Claudia will be out.
03:22If you decide not to choose either of these two, I will bring out all the models for you to pick from.
03:28Daniel, what do you want to do?
03:29Um, this is really difficult, but I'll stay with Rebecca.
03:34Rebecca, you're in.
03:36Claudia, that means you're out.
03:38Yeah, I know.
03:40Auf Wiedersehen.
03:41Dankeschön.
03:44Bye.
03:49Okay, you have your models.
03:51You have part of your challenge.
03:53And I see you back here on the runway.
03:56Bye.
03:57Bye.
03:59Good morning, everyone.
04:05Good morning, Kevin.
04:07Can you gather round and join me here?
04:10So, Heidi gave you the highlights of this challenge.
04:13You were designing a party dress for a socialite.
04:14These people are very, very important to your careers and to your future.
04:26Consider that.
04:28Daniel, would you come up and join me here?
04:31Thank you. Stand right here.
04:33I have a dossier for each of you profiling your socialite, and I want Daniel to open it and read it.
04:43Okay, here it goes.
04:45Oh, my gosh.
04:47Say what it is.
04:49Nikki Hilton.
04:51Oh!
04:53Nikki Hilton is an amazing muse for making beautiful things.
04:59Dear designers, you have quite a challenge in front of you, making me a party dress.
05:02To make it fun, tomorrow evening I'm hosting a party for you and your models, and I will be checking out your dresses to determine the winner of this challenge.
05:11I knew it.
05:12I know.
05:13My standards are high, and my taste is exquisite, so bring your best work and a good attitude. See you then, Nikki.
05:20That's hilarious.
05:21All right.
05:22You excited?
05:23Yes!
05:24You have until midnight tonight, and then a to-be-determined amount of time tomorrow.
05:29We're going shopping.
05:32You have a budget of $150, and I am giving you 30 minutes to design, and then we'll be off.
05:40Based on the book that we got, we only got two pictures we were wearing. One was really flashy, the other one was a little bit more sophisticated.
05:54And I thought, this should look sexy and sophisticated at the same time.
05:58And so I made it something really low cut, and I like back details, and just keeping something a little bit interesting.
06:03I did some ideas before we knew it was Nikki Hilton. The sketches that I came up with were maybe more things that I would wear.
06:12And then when I knew it was for Nikki, this kind of took me in a different direction, but I can't say that I make many party dresses these days.
06:24My sketch was very fresh, very girly. I did, of course, consider Nikki because this is your client. You've got to really always make your client happy.
06:34How's everyone doing? Great. All right, you're ready to go shopping?
06:38Yeah. Great.
06:42All right, everyone, we have 30 minutes here at Mood. Okay, use your time well.
06:47Okay.
06:52Okay, yeah, I'm going to do black and white.
06:54Going into the fabric store without a clear idea as to what you're going to do, it's instant death, especially when you're on a time schedule.
07:07This is great. I've been designing for rich girls all my life, so I can turn $150 and make it look like $150,000.
07:16I thought that Nikki Hilton would appreciate a dress that let her own self shine through and didn't draw attention to the fact that she was wearing a dress.
07:30It's made of jerseys so you could kind of ball it up, throw it into a suitcase and fly to L.A. for the weekend.
07:48I started sketching out a hybrid of dresses that I've done before, something that harked back to the days of the 1930s, Hollywood actresses, like the screen goddesses.
08:02I have been involved with a lot of celebrity clienteles, so I sort of feel confident with it. I'm like, I'm ready.
08:14Nikki is definitely going to notice my dress because I'm doing black leather with cream, Georgette.
08:19Everyone's doing pink, blue, full black. I have to set myself apart.
08:23I purchased this beautiful geometric print silk, satin, and then I also bought what I thought was stretch black satin.
08:38Against my better judgment, I didn't take my fabric to the window to see what it looked like in the sunlight, and my black fabric turned out to be chocolate brown.
08:46So you didn't know you bought brown?
08:47Well, that's the thing is like those lights in the back and with the time schedule, it's not always time because...
08:53Yeah, okay.
08:55Plan B was to try to scrounge up some extra black fabric, and Kara and Marla both were using the fabric that I had originally wanted.
09:05This is definitely like exactly what I needed.
09:08I probably can do it.
09:10Okay, let me know. You let me know. Thank you.
09:12I don't want you to rely on me. If you can hold out, I'll definitely give you whatever.
09:17Okay, let me know.
09:20Did anyone remove a dress form from this area?
09:22Yes.
09:23They need to return it.
09:24I agree, because mine's gone.
09:25They need to return it right now.
09:27We were getting ready to work, and Zulima started flipping out because her mannequin's gone.
09:32Whoever took a form, return it, please.
09:34As the group gets smaller, things are getting more intense. That's how it feels to me.
09:38Your form's gone now?
09:40Hey, I just had it here with a piece of tape, and I went out to do something.
09:43I had my mannequin sitting right at my desk. I went out, I come back in, my mannequin's gone.
09:49Because someone took the style tape off of it. I need that form back.
09:53That's not it, okay?
09:55Did you just take this from over there?
09:56I took a form.
09:57Someone definitely took this from over there.
09:58I took a form.
09:59I took a form.
10:00I took a form.
10:01I took a form.
10:02I took a form.
10:03I took a form.
10:04I took a form.
10:05Where the hell is my chiffon?
10:07Coming up on Project Runway.
10:09So I don't want you to be a copycat.
10:12I don't think that Santino can win this thing over me.
10:15This ain't my first time at the rodeo.
10:17I'm just working.
10:18No, it's okay.
10:19I don't know.
10:20I'm just trying to find.
10:21Did you just take this from over there?
10:22In the workroom, things are getting more intense.
10:23I took a form.
10:24That was mine.
10:25I'll take it, babe.
10:26I'm just working.
10:27No, it's okay.
10:28I don't know.
10:29I'm just trying to find.
10:30I retrieved my mannequin.
10:31It's like you got to kind of like bolt things down sometimes.
10:44That was scary.
10:46I think it is getting more competitive.
10:50It's not even so much the competition with each other.
10:53It's like a competition with yourself.
10:56I want to prove to myself that I am really creative and talented.
11:00and have the ability to make some great clothes.
11:03Just do it.
11:10My dress is Japanese inspired.
11:13It's clean, but at the same time, it's fun and feminine.
11:18I added some detachable parts to draw the eyes around the body
11:23because a lot of my philosophy is based on adding and subtracting elements
11:27based on your personal need.
11:29The judges raked me across the coals the last challenge.
11:36So if it calls for me making something beautiful,
11:39I'll make the most beautiful thing.
11:42Santino was very, very defensive towards the judges.
11:46And if he keeps it up, he's gone.
11:48Hey, babe!
11:49How is this progressing?
11:50It's going well.
11:51I'm getting ready to sew this up, which I think was a major step.
11:55What is it?
11:56Looks like an octopus.
11:57And then here's the drape over here.
11:58It'll look like this when it's sewn together on the bottom part.
12:08Okay.
12:09All right.
12:10All right.
12:11Well, I'm anxious to see how this develops.
12:12Okay.
12:13Okay?
12:14How are you doing?
12:15I'm doing pretty good.
12:16I'm just doing the back and then I'm going to start cutting.
12:17Great.
12:18I'm getting better with my time now.
12:19Okay, great.
12:20I cut out the flowers.
12:21How many of these are you using?
12:22Just a couple.
12:23Just a few.
12:24Oh, I don't know.
12:25Tim thought I was taking things a little bit too far with the trims and the embellishments,
12:30but that's pretty much what I like to do.
12:31I like to show them something that maybe is a little bit out there to test the boundaries.
12:35So be careful, that's all.
12:36Okay.
12:37All right?
12:38Okay.
12:39So...
12:40Can I tell you my first impression?
12:41I like to show them something that maybe is a little bit out there to test the boundaries.
12:44So be careful, that's all.
12:45Okay.
12:46All right?
12:47Okay.
12:48So...
12:49Can I tell you my first impression?
12:50Yes.
12:51This looks so much like the dress in the dossier.
12:54Well, it's possibly true.
12:57Can I see it?
12:58Wow.
12:59It doesn't look like your sketch.
13:00It looks like this.
13:01And it's not, I mean, to be honest, that isn't particularly pretty.
13:07I just want you to be Marla.
13:11I think from a creative standpoint, I have been working at making a living more than most of
13:17the other designers.
13:18And so they've been able to maybe play more.
13:21Yeah.
13:22Listen to your own voice.
13:24Okay.
13:26All right.
13:27As a designer, I don't trust my own creative voice.
13:30All right, everybody.
13:32Use the next couple of hours wisely, as I know you will.
13:36Carry on.
13:37Good night.
13:38Ohh, okay.
13:40Daniel Vasovic, I think, is stressed out because of the construction issues that he's got.
13:57I'm waiting to see if I get that fabric check it check it well Daniel you know
14:16if I had it I'd give it to you and I'm sorry baby I wish and so do I
14:27today is Nikki Hilton day I basically finished most of the dress so I feel confident with it
14:50last night I didn't have enough fabric to complete my design so I have to
14:56rethink the whole thing
15:02Diana that looks like Stevie Nicks what's Stevie Nick Daniel you don't even have
15:09fabric to finish the sides of your dress no I don't I'm shitting myself you can sit
15:16there and complain about it or try to be creative and think of another solution so
15:21I just let the design process evolve around this great print instead of just
15:25filling in the black with another color good morning everybody good morning
15:31thank you Chloe what do you think I'm happy with it it's cute yeah it's me it's simple but a little
15:37twist and it's sexy you pulled it off thank you hold it off look back I know I'm not a bottle a model
15:46body type but I put it on and it just didn't feel right to me something was wrong with it yeah I thought
15:51it looked like crap I'm not going to debate that yeah it looked like crap
15:55I'll leave you alone I was concerned I cuz again I just never really know how people are going to see the garment
16:06I am having some trouble with the fabric puckering it's puckering but I mean that it's gonna be blunt it's that it's not well sewn I will just say you've got a lot of work to do
16:22I'm a little bit concerned about my inexperience design wise and I think I need to make my design
16:29just more conventional and more appealing towards everyone instead of the conceptual ideas that I
16:34usually use Diana this is make it work time for you okay I'm gonna fray the edges and cut away so
16:40that you can see more of it and this is me yeah maybe like you know like yeah yeah I think he's
16:48talented but I don't think that Santino can win this thing over me this ain't my first time at the
16:53rodeo seeing how this has developed since I left here yesterday it's more sophisticated than I
17:01remembered much better so here's your time while okay thank you Tim oh your look looks really concerned
17:07that is not gonna be there I just I I'm back where we were last night this is my dress yeah but no I
17:14don't Tim I'm I'm Nina Garcia I'm sitting here with this look at this I mean look at this is the dress
17:25why would you buy that if you already have it in your closet oh no no no like that that's I just I
17:32just yeah I just bought these things to work with that I like I don't want you to be a copycat
17:40okay here we are it's 10 of 11 I'm not gonna make a whole new dress now you have to make this work you
17:46can't make a new dress yeah well I know you're concerned because you don't want to be out I don't
17:50want to be out and I want to be making this work how do you take it away from the dress in the dossier
17:55that's the challenge I'm gonna leave you alone with that all right just you study it thanks this
18:02evening you need to capture Nikki Hilton's attention with both your model wearing your dress and with
18:10you and your own manner of presentation you have an hour and we're sending the models in do your best I
18:18know you're well
18:21I'm trying to just add some things that definitely make it
18:51clear that it's not a copy. Tonight for Nikki, you just want to look polished as possible.
19:00I'm wearing five-inch stiletto pumps that I thought would be memorable.
19:10Coming up on Project Runway, they gave us some pictures of you with a Chloe dress on.
19:16Yeah, I saw a dress that looked like my Chloe dress that I wore. The black one?
19:21We all decided to do a walk-off.
19:32We were invited to go to a Nikki Hilton party at Marquee and we went there with our models dressed
19:38in our designs to show Nikki Hilton.
19:40Hello, everybody. Hi. Hi Nikki. Hi. I want to introduce to you our guest of honor.
19:52This is Nikki Hilton. Hi guys. Hi Nikki. I'm so excited to be here. I love fashion. I know
19:59you guys love fashion and I'm just so psyched to see what all of you guys have designed today.
20:04I also don't want you to forget that this is your client. Make yourself memorable and sell that dress
20:12to her. Let's pop some bottles. Let's have some fun.
20:15Rebecca and I were the first ones to approach Nikki. Just kind of wanted to make that first,
20:39that great first impression. I love that. And it's silk satin. It's a brand new print.
20:47I had a lot of people say, who's the designer? We love this dress.
20:51So I'm hoping that Nikki also liked it as well, because in the end, that's the most important.
20:55This is my model, Tara, and this is my dress. Hi. It's one of my favorite colors.
21:04Oh, I sort of guessed that. Yeah, I did a bias cut. I love that. And then I draped it in the back with
21:10a, you know, so when you like hit the red carpet, you know, and you show the back and you're like,
21:15hello. My interaction was good. I just felt like, you know, a little Mexican kid in Tijuana,
21:20like, buy my gum, buy my chicle. It's like, it's sort of pathetic. So I just said, you know,
21:25this is my gown and I hope you like it. So it's, it's a dress that'll travel well.
21:29Mm-hmm. Because it's all completely made of
21:31jersey, so you can throw it into a suitcase. That's what I love. Thanks.
21:40I love that. I just, I just think this is just stunning for you. It's empire.
21:45Yeah, I know that we, I know that small girls. This is definitely one of my favorites so far.
21:50Thank you. It's pretty. And we added an extra flowy skirt so that if, you know,
21:56you're dancing, you'll attract more attention than other people will.
22:01Turn around so, you know, just a little sexy, versatile dress. I don't want to impose my opinion
22:07on someone who I don't know. I just like this sort of a silhouette. It's sort of like a tough,
22:13nice, nice sort of thing that I sort of do. That's Zulema.
22:23I love the braiding on it. I'm actually starting a holiday dress line and I did a lot of braiding,
22:28like under the bust line and straps. I was channeling you, honey.
22:31I was channeling you. My name is Lupe and I've designed you a beautiful garment today.
22:37It's basically a basic black, you know, if you just want to go out and like do whatever.
22:41I basically tried to present something that would show my whole style.
22:44They gave us something to kind of like inspire like some pictures of like you at certain events
22:51with a Chloe dress on and such a show to give us an idea.
22:54Yeah, I saw a dress that looked like my Chloe dress that I wore, the black one.
22:58Yeah. I don't know what happened.
23:00Well, thank you. Yeah, thank you too.
23:06Come on.
23:08This is your dress, right?
23:09It is, yeah.
23:09It looks like a dress I wore recently.
23:11What did you say?
23:12It looks like this dress I wore recently.
23:14Well, you know what they did give us, they gave us a couple pictures of you in dresses.
23:18Oh, yeah.
23:18What dress was that that you wore recently? Was it a Chloe?
23:20It was a black Chloe.
23:21Ah!
23:23I realized after meeting with Nikki that I could be eliminated from making a dress
23:27that looks too reminiscent of the one she wore. So, of course, I'm worried.
23:34Anyway, I'm just going to run to the bar.
23:36Okay.
23:41This is my model, Heather. This is what I've designed for you.
23:44I love the braiding. I love braiding.
23:46I'm based in L.A., and if you ever need anything for any kind of red carpet, I'll make you whatever you want.
23:54Working it. I love that.
23:58I think confidence is a big thing when you're selling yourself as a designer.
24:03And I believe I showed a lot of confidence when I was talking to Nikki.
24:08It was awesome meeting you.
24:09It was nice to meet you too. Congratulations.
24:11If you ever see me around, say hey.
24:13I love it.
24:14I think you're great.
24:29At the bar, Dirty Diana came out.
24:32You know, when you first meet her, it's like this nerdy girl with glasses.
24:35And then last night, you know, her hair was done, her makeup was on.
24:39Apparently, you play a little music, give her a drink, and she just will shake her like
24:45all the rest of us, so she's now Dirty Diana.
24:50We all got together and decided to do a walk-off a la Zoolander.
24:55So we pulled everyone together, went to the back, and we had to design a wall.
24:59It was so much fun because each designer had their own personality.
25:19Ayy-y!
25:22Ooh-ah!
25:23Water Lupe did a hole and caterpillar.
25:27Ooh-ah!
25:29Chris Entino and Nick are the best walkers.
25:31Ooh-ah!
25:33Ooh-ah!
25:34Ooh-ah!
25:35Ooh-ah!
25:36Ooh-ah!
25:37Wow-ah!
25:38Ooh-ah!
25:39Ooh-ah!
25:41Ooh-ah!
25:42Ooh-ah!
25:44Ooh-ah!
25:45What?
25:45Ooh-ah!
25:46Ooh-ah!
25:47good morning everybody how are you had a good time last night good we have two hours for you
26:04to refit your models to take them to the trace of a hair salon to go to the L'Oreal Paris makeup
26:10room and to prep them for the runway show all right good luck everyone as long as it doesn't go around
26:24the neck it doesn't go around the neck I added some elements that maybe distinguish it from
26:29the dress in the picture you know I had maybe skin shelling that I'm covering up I don't want to go
26:36home yet just think like mojitos like on the beach actually I like the update Diana's doing but I
27:03want to do that she's doing that but maybe I mean if you can do a variation designers models this is it
27:16when I looked around the room it's hard everybody else's things and I looked at mine I was a little
27:22scared you know about what was gonna happen I don't want to be eliminated coming up on project runway
27:32I find it a little bit unflattering it's just too much I think that you just took it too far
27:39hello
27:44welcome to the runway as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you might be out
27:53there are 11 of you right now and at the end of tonight there will be only 10 left
28:01your challenge was to design a party dress for Nikki Hilton we gave you 150 dollars and two days to put it
28:12together you had the chance to meet Nikki last night and show your dress let's meet the judges
28:21fashion designer Michael Kors Nina Garcia fashion director of L magazine and your client Nikki Hilton who
28:32has an online chick we will be scoring your designs as they come down the runway Nikki will pick the winner
28:39the winner and one of you will be out let's start the show
28:47I kind of knew what she wanted and the fabrics that I selected I selected them because they looked
29:04like her natural blue eye color
29:15just thought I would do something strong and sexy and I think she's strong and sexy I see her as a celebrity and I thought
29:20it was a celebrity you need color to stand out I tried so hard to really wrap my brain around what
29:39it's like to be Nikki Hilton and I wanted to create something that was just really beautiful and that was
29:44easy to wear I'm a menswear designer so it took a lot of effort for me to make something delicate and
29:58feminine but I liked my look when it came down the runway
30:01my dress may be a little tough for Nikki if she feels like being a little naughty for the night yes
30:18to wear my dress
30:29they think the personality of the designer is just as important as the clothing because
30:33you're kind of selling the idea of you or a style when you're selling your clothing
30:48I felt really confident and I thought she'd look hard she looked exactly what I wanted her to look like
30:55I don't think you will hate my garment but I don't know if she'll like it I just never really know how
31:13people are going to see the garment at the club Nikki had said that it was one of her favorite dresses so I felt very confident
31:43I can't say that my design wasn't influenced by the Chloe dress but I put some more personal touches into it so I'll see what they decide
31:52yesterday when I was still having those fabric issues which is very frustrating but I thought it looked gorgeous when it came down the runway
32:22we've tallied your scores I want to ask the designers to please come onto the runway
32:33if I call your name please step forward
32:53Chloe
32:59Diana
33:04Nick
33:09Guadalupe
33:15Marla
33:20Santino
33:26if I have not called your name you can leave the runway your scores
33:37have qualified you for the next challenge thank you
33:41the six remaining designers have
33:56the highest and the lowest scores we bring out your models ask you some questions one of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out
34:09let's bring out your models
34:12Santino do you want to tell us a little bit about your party dress for Nikki the first thing that I ever noticed about you it was your eye color I wanted to design around a color
34:16um to express something that's already inherently inherently a part of you I think it's a character that I've already inherently a part of you I think it's a character that
34:28your party dress for Nicky?
34:31The first thing that I ever noticed about you was your eye color.
34:35I wanted to design around a color
34:39to express something that's already inherently a part of you.
34:44I think it's a killer, killer dress.
34:46I mean, I think you have the attitudes to succeed in this business.
34:52Nick, do you want to tell us a little bit about your party dress?
34:56I wanted to take her, Nicky, and make her into a 2005 version
35:00of the Hollywood screen goddesses.
35:03It's really beautiful, and it's got a beautiful back.
35:06Fits well, the back is beautiful, so you'll get a great shot there.
35:10I think it's very, very pretty.
35:16Guadalupe.
35:17So what I did was I took black and texture,
35:21which is almost, like, very Japanese.
35:23A lot of the things that I like to do, too, is add detachable things,
35:26which these aren't detachable at this point,
35:28but if you wanted more flowers
35:29or if you felt like you wanted to just take away things,
35:33you could do that as well.
35:35I like the idea, but I think that you just took it too far.
35:39There's a lot going on.
35:42I agree with Nicky.
35:43I think there's too much of everything, too much of ruffles,
35:46too much of trim.
35:47It's just too much.
35:49The template press are vicious.
35:51They are vicious.
35:52So, like, if she wore that dress,
35:54they could say, are there green socks on her dress?
35:56Green socks, well.
35:57Like, what is that?
35:58They don't know what it is.
36:02Chloe, you want to talk about your potty dress?
36:04The reason I did silk schmooze is you're used to expensive clothing,
36:07and this should look sexy and sophisticated at the same time,
36:11and silk schmooze, done right, is expensive-looking.
36:13Just, to me, was my idea of you.
36:16Well, blue and black are my favorite colors to wear,
36:19and I think the presentation's great.
36:21I mean, I like it.
36:26Okay, Diana.
36:27I created a black dress for you,
36:29and since I was using all black,
36:30I tried to create different patterns
36:32by changing the texture of the fabric.
36:34I also added the belt
36:36so that it could have, like, an elegant touch to it.
36:38I think the belt's very chic,
36:40but the bottom is just...
36:42not that flattering.
36:45It kind of makes a girl look like she had, like, a big butt or something.
36:50It's like, you know, like,
36:51you don't want anyone to, like, look at the picture and go,
36:53oh, my God, what has she been doing?
36:55Like, she's been sitting at home eating ho-hos.
36:59Marla, do you want to tell me about your dress?
37:02I think it's a young dress
37:04and kind of sexy with the way the back is cut.
37:07I find it a little bit of flattering.
37:09Too many ruffles, too many layers, too many peaks, too many angles.
37:14When I looked at this dress,
37:16it was very similar to a Chloe dress I had worn a month ago.
37:21Oh, really?
37:24Did you see that dress in the picture?
37:25I did see the photograph,
37:26and I guess Tim had warned me about not making it too similar,
37:29and I changed it to try to take the effect away.
37:33I had no idea that you wore something very close to that.
37:36That surprises me.
37:41Okay.
37:42We saw your designs.
37:43We heard what you had to say.
37:46We're gonna do some talking,
37:47and then we call you back.
37:48You can leave the runway.
37:51Thanks, guys.
37:53I could start with Nick.
38:06I loved his dress.
38:07I think he's very talented.
38:10He was very smart about it, the way he sold his dress.
38:13Yeah, he sold it well.
38:14Yeah, well, he thought about it, clearly.
38:16And that is something I would absolutely wear.
38:18Santino.
38:19He was just very cool.
38:23And I like his dress a lot, too.
38:25I think it's a good silhouette for you.
38:27I mean, I think it's a really pretty dress.
38:30For me, it was very short-waisted.
38:31Like, I wouldn't wear it,
38:33because it is so poofy on the bottom
38:35and so short on top.
38:39Chloe.
38:40I really liked Chloe's piece.
38:42She's very cute.
38:43I liked her.
38:44I liked Chloe's very cute.
38:45I liked her.
38:46I mean, listen,
38:47she was young.
38:48Yeah.
38:49It was a great dress.
38:50Yeah.
38:51It was flattering.
38:52It was sexy.
38:53The back was pretty.
38:56Diana.
38:57The dress is cute, but it's not for me.
39:05Guadalupe.
39:06She has all these weird ways
39:08of, like, describing the detachable flowers
39:11and ribbons and all this stuff.
39:13It gets very complicated.
39:14Very complicated.
39:15Just too much.
39:16I mean, maybe it's other people's tastes.
39:18It's just not me.
39:19I think that Guadalupe's was really ridiculous.
39:22Yeah.
39:29How about Marla?
39:30I don't know if this is the business for her.
39:33I didn't see that passion in her eyes.
39:35I mean, her dress was based off of the recent dress I wore.
39:39When I look at the two, if you wore Marla's dress or you wore Guadalupe's dress on the black carpet,
39:44well, Marla's dress, at worst, everyone would say, oh, it looked a little Chloe.
39:48I'm bored.
39:49But if you wore Guadalupe's dress, I mean, it's a guaranteed what was she thinking.
39:54Yeah.
39:55On the other hand, you know, I don't like this, that she copied this thing at all.
39:59No, I mean, it's, it's, listen, it's not, it's not smart.
40:01You can't do this in a competition.
40:02No way.
40:03All right, should we call them back out?
40:08Absolutely.
40:12The six of you represent the best and the worst.
40:18One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
40:33Chloe, you're in.
40:54You can leave the runway.
40:56Diana, you're in.
41:09You can leave the runway.
41:19And now for the winner of this challenge, I want to ask Nikki to name the winner.
41:24I chose Santino as the winner of this challenge.
41:33I just really thought that you had the whole package, and I think you're going to go very
41:38far in this position.
41:39Thank you so much.
41:41Congratulations.
41:42Thanks, guys.
41:42Congrats.
41:43You can leave the runway.
41:49I didn't win the Barbie competition, but I won the Nikki Hilton competition, and that's
41:54more important, because Barbie's not going to buy dresses from me, but Nikki Hilton might.
42:05Nick, you're in.
42:09You can leave the runway.
42:10Thanks.
42:10I was a little shocked, Santino won.
42:20I think I'm as talented as Santino.
42:29Guadalupe.
42:30We feel that your dress would have put Nikki on the worst dress list, and that is not a
42:39way to win a client.
42:44Marla.
42:47Nikki already owns a dress just like yours, and you know that.
42:52We're all left wondering where Marla is in your design.
42:55Marla.
43:03You're in.
43:05You can leave the runway.
43:11That means Guadalupe, you're out.
43:14Thanks.
43:17Auf Wiedersehen.
43:19Bye.
43:19Bye.
43:20It is.
43:29You are really good.
43:30I think you're feeling good.
43:31It's okay.
43:32I think you're great.
43:34I know myself, and I understand my personal style, and I also understand that not everybody
43:39knows how to grasp it.
43:43You've got a great job.
43:44You do.
43:45All right.
43:46You've got to go up to the work room and clean up your space.
43:48All right?
43:48All right.
43:49I really hope to develop my own line, and eventually take it as far as I can.
43:55I'm moving forward.
43:56I'm going forward.
43:57I'm working on it.
43:58I'm working on it.
44:02Next, on Project Runway.
44:04You will be working in teams of two.
44:07I don't care if you cry and cut, but you've got to cry and cut.
44:11One person's weakness can mean the end for both people.
44:15Now, what do you think?
44:16Yes.
44:16Diana is grasping at straws.
44:21And I can't stand the sound of her voice.
44:25You are the last two I would ever expect to be out.
44:28It's just heartbreaking.
44:29We're taking a field trip.
44:30Oh, no.
44:32That could mean anything.
