00:01Previously on Project Runway,
00:03you will be designing an outfit for one of fashion's icons.
00:09Mark your center front.
00:10Some of the people have more technical skill than I do.
00:13I can do this if you tell me how to do it.
00:15You really shouldn't be here if you don't know how to put a garment together.
00:18You've been a nervous wreck like this.
00:21I've been a nervous wreck?
00:23Oh, goodness.
00:25Claudia, I'm going to start sewing you in, okay?
00:27Daniel, this is it.
00:29What?
00:34Right away, I started thinking of Surfer Girl.
00:36She, to me, looked like barefoot, Appalachian little Abner Barbie.
00:40Congratulations, Nick. You're the winner.
00:43Marla, you're in.
00:45That means, Ramonda, you're out.
00:47Auf Wiedersehen.
00:48Auf Wiedersehen.
00:49At stake for the winner of Project Runway
00:52is a fashion spread in Elle magazine,
00:54a mentorship with the Banana Republic design team,
00:57a 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster,
01:00and $100,000 courtesy of Saturn to start your own line.
01:04This is Project Runway.
01:07Let's get it on.
01:08To search for the next big fashion designer.
01:10This is a dream come true.
01:12I'm going to do whatever it takes to win.
01:1416 designers.
01:15Everyone here is crazy.
01:17Drama has to happen.
01:18Yes, I'm a competitive person.
01:20Three finalists will make it to Olympus Fashion Week.
01:23You will see me at Fashion Week.
01:24But only one can be the winner.
01:26Heck yeah, I'm going to win this.
01:28For these 16 designers,
01:30Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:44I won the Barbie challenge.
01:45Oh, my God.
01:46You know, I got a Barbie, you know, in Toys R Us.
01:48Woo-hoo!
01:49Get the parade out.
01:50Let's do it.
01:51I lost a Barbie challenge because of you.
01:54I helped Nick a little bit.
01:56I might think twice about doing it again.
01:59Yeah, because I'm, you know, I'm upset I didn't win.
02:03Second place is just not good enough.
02:10I'm excited to find out what our new challenge is today.
02:12I kind of like receiving the challenges and stuff.
02:15It's kind of like I'm living in a book or something.
02:21The next challenge is something I know a lot about.
02:36You will be designing lingerie.
02:41But first, let's bring out the winning and losing designers models.
02:51Models, this also is a competition for you as well.
02:57The model paired with a winner of Project Runway
03:00will get a fashion spread in Elle magazine.
03:03Nick, you won the last challenge.
03:05And your model is Tara.
03:07If you decide to stay with her,
03:09Allison will be out.
03:11If you decide not to choose either of these two,
03:14I will bring out all the models for you to pick from.
03:16Okay, what do you want to do, Nick?
03:18Allison, your walk is fierce.
03:21But Tara is literally my muse.
03:24Hopefully, we can take it to the end.
03:27Congratulations, Tara.
03:31You can leave the runway.
03:33Sorry, that means you're out.
03:37Auf Wiedersehen.
03:38Bye, thank you guys.
03:39Bye.
03:40Bye.
03:46Alright, back to your challenge.
03:49Each of you have the next 30 minutes
03:51to develop a presentation for a lingerie line of three looks.
03:57You will each pitch me your ideas
03:59and then I will choose four of you to be team leaders.
04:03The leaders will then pick from the remaining designers
04:06to make teams of three.
04:09Each team will work together to execute the leader's vision.
04:13This challenge is all about a vision and execution,
04:16leadership and teamwork.
04:18And when it comes time to be judged on the runway,
04:21one of you could go or an entire team could be out.
04:25Alright, the 30 minutes start right now.
04:27We had to sell our idea to Heidi.
04:38Lingerie is something she knows a lot about obviously
04:41because she's been such a famous lingerie model, bra model
04:44with that hot body of hers.
04:49I didn't want to just do little flat sketches
04:51or little technical drawings.
04:52I wanted to present an impression.
04:54All right, this is the end of your 30 minutes.
05:01So all sketchbooks have to close.
05:04First up is Daniel V.
05:06Ooh.
05:07So go out and sell her.
05:10What I'm looking at here is menswear on women.
05:14I like the idea of an ex-girlfriend taking revenge on a boyfriend.
05:18Like they're leaving him and they did this with his stuff.
05:20And I'm very influenced by superheroes.
05:23Mm-hmm.
05:24And so I wanted to have panties with like pow, kapah.
05:27What I have is a group which I call tie me up, tie me down.
05:34Exactly.
05:35It's like a slip dress you can wear to bed
05:36or you can wear with jeans and t-shirts also and go out with it.
05:39It's very pretty.
05:40Oh, thank you.
05:41I'm thinking about a lingerie line inspired by you.
05:46Does she have Auf Wiedersehen on the butt?
05:47Yeah, on the butt.
05:48Come on.
05:49And it could say Guten Tag on the front.
05:50Yeah.
05:51Well, Auf Wiedersehen.
05:52Yeah, I'm not going to say that to you.
05:55They're cute little negligees in various proportions.
05:59I like to work in a short proportion because...
06:01We know that.
06:02See, now is when you can go a little short around the booty area.
06:13It's called the Boudoir Babes.
06:15Asiana Nights.
06:17Sweetie Pie.
06:19Heidi's...
06:21Hollywood Honeymoon.
06:23So my collection is called Goddess.
06:24It's supposed to flow as she's walking.
06:26If a lot of wind is flowing.
06:28So you have to request a wind machine now.
06:30What I like to do is to have elegant, beautiful lingerie.
06:35That's used, say, like a candlelight type of romantic setting
06:38for like, say, fiancés or newlyweds.
06:41Where it's more love-making than something like sex and trashy.
06:45I don't like that type of lingerie.
06:47I thought of you a little bit.
06:52I'd love to show you something beautiful.
06:54Hello.
06:55My first team leader I want to choose is Daniel V.
07:06It is something that I think will translate very well on the runway.
07:10A strong girl with a tie.
07:12It is a theme.
07:14The second team leader that I chose was another Daniel.
07:18I think it's very sexy and it was very beautiful what he explained to me.
07:22The way I presented it to Heidi.
07:24She got it.
07:25You know?
07:26Love-making.
07:27How is that wrong?
07:28I knew that couldn't be wrong.
07:31The third team leader is Diana.
07:36I liked your idea.
07:37Very sexy, flirty, but powerful lingerie.
07:43Last but not least is the fourth team leader.
07:46And that is Santino.
07:48Wow.
07:49I really like the whole lederhosen thing.
07:52And that has like a very sexy twist to it that I want to see on the runway.
07:57Nice.
07:58Thanks Heidi.
07:59I feel like I'm a great communicator.
08:01I'm focused and I know where I'm going and I know what I'm trying to achieve.
08:07See you on the runway.
08:09I knew I didn't want to be team leader.
08:11You're more vulnerable and I don't want that responsibility at this point.
08:14Congratulations to our four team leaders.
08:17You will be choosing your own teams, but in the order in which I pull you from our magic bag.
08:26First up is Daniel B.
08:28Excellent.
08:29I think I'm going to start with Andre.
08:36Thank you very much.
08:37Daniel F.
08:38I need someone who's not afraid of intricate garment construction.
08:41Chloe would please join my team.
08:43You sure you know what you're doing?
08:45Santino.
08:46I'm going to select Nick.
08:47Come on down.
08:48And the fourth person will therefore be Diana.
08:49Okay.
08:50I'd like Guadalupe, please.
08:51Zulema.
08:52Great.
08:53That's wonderful.
08:54Wow.
08:55Carl, would you please join my team?
08:57I'm going to keep you on time.
09:00I'm going to keep you on time.
09:03Marla and Emmett both are last because A, they can't pattern make.
09:04Two, they're not the best sewers.
09:05So who would want them on their team?
09:06I'm going to pick.
09:07Emmett, come on down, dog.
09:11Oh yeah.
09:12And I'd like Marla, please.
09:13Okay.
09:14I was the last one to be picked.
09:15I'm really not surprised.
09:16I had just come off a chance.
09:17I was just getting married.
09:18I'm going to pick.
09:19And I'm going to pick you on time.
09:22I'm going to pick you on time.
09:26Marla and Emmett both are last because A, they can't pattern make.
09:28Two, they're not the best sewers.
09:29So who would want them on their team?
09:30I'm going to pick.
09:31Emmett, come on down, dog.
09:32Oh yeah.
09:3312 more.
09:34And I'd like Marla, please.
09:35Okay.
09:36I was the last one to be picked.
09:38I'm really not surprised.
09:39I had just come off a challenge where I like eat through.
09:43We're going to go shopping.
09:44But first, I want you to meet with your team and basically make it work.
09:49Come on, let's go.
09:50We don't want to make any interest.
09:52I have to say depleting is quite a bit.
09:55Depleting is quite a bit.
09:56Keep it simple.
09:57Keep it basic.
09:58We only need it to function.
09:59Yeah.
10:00What if it's like a kind of girdle-y and then there's an over layer of like chiffon or something
10:06that goes like that.
10:07Because you don't want to make it look like Cher Goss.
10:10You know what I'm saying?
10:11No, no, no.
10:12Santino is very capable, but I think he's a very hands-on designer.
10:16So I'll be very curious to see how he can delegate.
10:20Well, this one should definitely be unbiased in the back.
10:22Okay.
10:23Because if it's unbiased, then it'll like fit to her butt.
10:26Yeah.
10:27I think the three of them are so lame.
10:31Dude.
10:32They haven't had sex in their life.
10:34Like, what the fuck?
10:35Oh, oh, so.
10:36Yeah, I know.
10:37Oh, darn it.
10:38I did it with the purple pen again.
10:40Here, I was thinking doing that, here's satin.
10:44Honestly, this looks like it's a piece of cake, but we got 12 hours.
10:48Yeah.
10:49All right, then how about this idea?
10:50How about we just keep it simple?
10:52We'll check it out.
10:54No, no, just define the sketch.
10:56Daniel Frankel is a true artist.
10:58He has a tendency to over-design because he's overambitious.
11:01He's going to have to listen to us to get this done, because I don't want to be on stage
11:05defending this collection.
11:06This bottom is not sewn in?
11:08It is sewn in.
11:09It's sewn into here.
11:10Oh, yeah, I know.
11:11At the top.
11:12You're not looking.
11:13Look, look what I'm saying.
11:14This seam.
11:15Yeah.
11:16And you said this seam is sewn in.
11:17Listen to me, please.
11:18He gets so overexcited about his design.
11:20Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
11:21This should be this.
11:22This should be that.
11:23And then, so when we ask a question construction-wise, I would totally answer the wrong question.
11:26Seriously, stop ticking in your head when I'm talking.
11:28Listen to me.
11:29Okay?
11:30No, for real.
11:31You're not listening to me.
11:32That's going to be a problem.
11:36Coming up on Project Runway.
11:37I mean, is it Hollywood Wives?
11:39Could be like desperate cow spies, that type of thing.
11:41Because it's looking Joan Collins to me.
11:43No.
11:44That bad?
11:45No.
11:46Listen to me.
11:47This is not the time to be second-guessing your vision.
11:56First of all, you're working until midnight tonight, and that's stopping time.
11:59Midnight is it.
12:00We are going to go shopping, and I have your budget for you, which is $200.
12:04This is great.
12:05We will be going to Mood.
12:06We'll have 30 minutes.
12:07Let's go shopping.
12:08When we got to Mood, you know, we had a plan of who's going to do what.
12:09So we each had responsibilities.
12:10We all knew what we were going to focus on.
12:11Where's the Duchess Satin?
12:12I've already got it.
12:13That one is a better fabric, but I really am concerned about that color.
12:14I agree, and I think fabric will overcome it.
12:15I think color over fabric.
12:16What does that make you feel?
12:17What does that make you feel?
12:18I don't know.
12:19It makes me feel African.
12:20Designing is something that was always just a little bit more for me.
12:21I really hope I can work with somebody else.
12:22I know that it makes me feel African, and feel good.
12:30It makes me feel African and your friends.
12:31You know how I'm doing?
12:32And it's a little bit more for me.
12:35You know how I am.
12:37We all knew what we were going to focus on.
12:38I don't know, it makes me feel African.
12:44Designing is something that was always just a little bit more for me.
12:48I really hope I can work with somebody else with their ideas and learn how to compromise.
12:54It's a little disco.
12:56Emmett took care of the shopping because he sort of knew where to go.
13:00But of course that's not enough for Santino.
13:02Santino's got to micromanage and he's got to be the leader and he's got to take care of everything.
13:06Emmett, I don't think for this.
13:08Yeah, let's put this one away.
13:09Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:10Daniel, eight minutes, let's go.
13:11Eight minutes is a piece of time.
13:15Daniel!
13:16Do the Y way, that's it.
13:18We got it, we got it, we got it, we got it.
13:20Give me the money, give me the money.
13:31Bye, Mom.
13:32Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
13:33Do you have my sketches or not?
13:35We were all leaving.
13:36Everybody had cashed out.
13:37And then all of a sudden, Santino's like, wait, where are my sketches?
13:40Where are my sketches?
13:42Beautiful.
13:43They were like literally on the floor.
13:48It's like, oh my God.
13:50Out of chaos comes beauty.
13:51The sketch is not clear of me.
13:52So I'm going to work with you on it.
13:53This is what I see in your fun thing.
13:57It's okay.
13:58It's okay.
13:59It's okay.
14:00The concept is like really beautiful, romantic lingerie.
14:01People wear lingerie, it's because they're about to like, you know, get some action or something.
14:18At least I'm hoping, you know, for them.
14:20You can make it a little bit more shearing as we go on the second one.
14:24Daniel, there's going to be five layers here.
14:27Now we've got to flatten this.
14:28If we can flatten it, I'll do it.
14:30Okay.
14:31Because we had watched Daniel work in the past, Chloe and I knew we had to be on step and on toe and on point all the time.
14:38This is fine.
14:39This is what.
14:40This is an issue because we have to make sure that pleading covers that crotch.
14:44Exactly.
14:45Daniel V has a very relaxed leadership style.
14:47You know, he likes to get other people's input.
14:51This is for you, Heidi Klum.
14:52My theme was Heidi Klum meets the sound of music.
14:56It's lingerie inspired by Lederhosen and her catchphrase of Auf Wiedersehen.
15:03Folding in, you stitch that and you stitch that.
15:06Okay.
15:07You know what I'm saying?
15:08Yeah, I know what you're saying.
15:09I'm just trying to figure it out.
15:10It wasn't until I started working with Emmett that I found out that he can't sew.
15:14He can't make patterns.
15:15It's just like, man, Emmett, I can't stop to like explain every single stitch to you.
15:22Santino and I have very different styles.
15:25It's like a free fall for me because I come from a menswear background where I'm not dealing with two-wheeler stretch fabrics.
15:33It's going to be campy.
15:35With a capital C.
15:37Don't fire the sewer.
15:39I'll show you where I was thinking about doing the details and you can tell me what you think.
15:43My collection is called Goddess.
15:45It's kind of reminiscent of bondage and then it has flowing chiffons on top.
15:50It's just going to hang inside the leg?
15:52Yeah.
15:53I kind of don't get it.
15:54Diana is really young still so I think she really is set on her ideas and sometimes her ideas are a little bit conceptual.
16:04Okay, so what else is there?
16:06This is too much.
16:07This is too much.
16:08This is too much.
16:09Well, this is what you said.
16:10A little bit less.
16:11A little bit less.
16:12Daniel, don't be so anal about the thing.
16:14You want the poof look?
16:15They're not going to see it.
16:16Just remember that this is sitting in the waist.
16:19Chloe and Cara thought that I cared too much about certain things that maybe they think I shouldn't care about.
16:25I'm not just doing it just to piss them off when I make an executive decision to make a change or to add something.
16:31It's the right choice.
16:32This is the final decision.
16:33I've reversed it.
16:34I put this on top.
16:35Chloe, we've changed lines here.
16:37No, but not a lot.
16:38Don't say it like I said it's freaky.
16:40It's a good thing.
16:43It's mesh in the side panels or it's mad.
16:46Yeah.
16:47It's really weird how we keep finishing each other's sentences.
16:51Let's sit on the form.
16:54Wait, wait, wait.
16:55Let me finish this.
16:56Let me just take this one.
16:58This should not take any longer than six o'clock.
17:01Don't worry.
17:02This is going to be done in 15 minutes.
17:03Okay.
17:04But you know, decide on this.
17:05He's overthinking the design and he's not realizing that we've got to get things done.
17:11Wait, is this the front or the back?
17:16That's the front.
17:17What happened?
17:18The time deadline is midnight and it is very stressful.
17:25I don't know what you're doing, but you need to drop the iron.
17:28What's up, Jim?
17:29How are you doing, Ryan?
17:30What's up with you?
17:31I'm still working on the bustier, which is unfortunate.
17:45I thought I'd be finished by now.
17:47Is any one look finished?
17:49Zulemus is the very closest and this look is just a broad panty.
17:54Okay.
17:55It's doable.
17:56It's totally doable, but we're craning in an hour and a half.
18:00Hour and a half.
18:01How are you doing?
18:02I'm okay.
18:03What is this?
18:04I'm not understanding.
18:05Well, when she walks, it's going to flow out from between her legs.
18:10Coming in from between her legs?
18:13I don't know.
18:15All right.
18:16I'm not understanding, but that's me.
18:19Whenever Tim comes around, he always gives me his.
18:22I'm really concerned, Diana.
18:25One thing to be conceptual is another thing to be gimmicky.
18:28I don't think it's going to be too gimmicky because, I mean, it just, like, I mean...
18:35Okay.
18:36I think Diana needs to communicate it because that's really what it's all about.
18:40If you have a great idea and you can't communicate it well, you're kind of just in a boat by yourself.
18:47How are you feeling about your progress?
18:50It's coming.
18:51Okay.
18:52It needs help.
18:53It needs the major finishing touches on everything.
18:56Got to work.
18:57Yeah, okay.
18:58Got to work.
18:59Got to work.
19:00I believe.
19:01Got to work.
19:02Help him.
19:03I know.
19:04I've been trying to in there.
19:05He's really...
19:06Yeah, I know.
19:07I know.
19:08Daniel.
19:09Yeah.
19:10Isn't looking young to me.
19:11I mean, is it Hollywood Wives?
19:13It could be, like, Desperate Housewives, that type of thing.
19:16Because it's looking Joan Collins to me.
19:18No.
19:19Yes.
19:20Like that?
19:21That bag?
19:22Kidding?
19:23You have an hour and 15 minutes.
19:25You've got to just make this work.
19:26Oh, I really like it.
19:27I think it's really, really...
19:28All right.
19:29You like it?
19:30You believe in it?
19:31I do believe in it.
19:32And the girls believe in it, too.
19:33I don't agree with Tim.
19:34I think we're going to basically have the best quality garments Project Runway has ever seen.
19:39Kara.
19:40Chloe.
19:41Yes.
19:42How are things?
19:43Really and truly.
19:44Who has them?
19:45I'm a little nervous.
19:46But, you know, Daniel Frankel's always not nervous.
19:48I hate doing things last minute.
19:50It's just not my style.
19:51And it's his style.
19:52It's definitely his style.
19:54I think Daniel's an excellent designer.
19:57But I see him, his mindset being like that of a fine artist, which is that there's no deadline.
20:02Yeah.
20:03I can just keep working on this.
20:04It's $12.
20:05But with design, there's a deadline.
20:07He wants to be in business?
20:08Yeah.
20:09This is not going to be it.
20:16You're spending too much time on all those little details.
20:18Come on.
20:19What are you doing?
20:20No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
20:22This is where I've got to sew.
20:23He must make up his mind and we'll sew the out of these things.
20:26We're going to get these things finished.
20:28I'm cut faster than you.
20:29Come on.
20:30Come on.
20:31God, you're driving me crazy, Franco.
20:34You're driving me crazy.
20:35I'm going to kill you.
20:36Kill me after the challenge, please.
20:43I just want to know, like, what do you want on the bustier?
20:46Just, dude, I don't care at this point.
20:49Just finish it.
20:50Just finish it.
20:51You know, I feel like I got, you know, a sack of potatoes that I had to drag around
20:55as I, you know, worked on these three garments.
20:58Emmett is dead weight.
21:00It was midnight and I saw the outfit that Emmett was working on hadn't made much progress
21:06and it looked a little bit like a Christmas elf costume or something.
21:11And I was, like, almost wanting to cry.
21:14Come on, take a deep breath.
21:18Don't cry.
21:19It'll be fine.
21:20Santino, we've got to leave.
21:25Oh, my God.
21:27I think he was very tired and he started to doubt the whole vision.
21:32And I think he just became overwhelmed.
21:34Santino, you're a very good designer.
21:36You have Nick and I dealing with it.
21:39We believed it from the very minute we sat down together to talk about it.
21:43This is not the time to be second-guessing your vision.
21:50Coming up on Project Runway.
21:52It's not going to cover my whole chest and I'm not going to be comfortable.
21:55Do you know what I mean?
21:56If you don't want to wear the outfit that we made,
21:58then you should probably get a different job.
22:00It's going to look like we didn't have time to finish.
22:03I got an idea.
22:04I'm going to snip your pippy off, Daniel.
22:13I'm upset with myself and with one particular teammate.
22:18I wanted things to look a lot different.
22:21I just, I have a hard time making something that's mediocre
22:24or something that's not perfect.
22:26It's Judgment Day.
22:31I'm trying to find trust in Daniel Franco.
22:35I hope that we can pull a miracle.
22:38Pull a miracle.
22:39You have a lot of work to do.
22:43I'm really concerned about each and every one of you.
22:46Frankly, given the condition of the collections right now,
22:49I think almost any of these could be out.
22:52In one hour, the models are arriving.
22:55And when they get here, you're going to have very little time
22:58to continue to work on these clothes.
23:00All right, carry on.
23:08Just make decisions, Daniel.
23:09Just make decisions.
23:10We made too many decisions, too rushed yesterday.
23:13And the look sucks.
23:14When it's right, it's right.
23:15Just do it and I'll sew.
23:17Okay, whatever.
23:18French cuff goes like this.
23:20You can put a top stitch on it.
23:21If you don't have time, don't worry about it.
23:22Just press it out.
23:23I don't think anyone finished.
23:25Everyone's doing last minute today.
23:27Everyone.
23:28Think about just putting some leaves.
23:30I think it'd be cute, huh?
23:31Yeah, just tack on it.
23:32Just sort of.
23:33Well, or just pin it on.
23:34It.
23:35You know?
23:36The more crap you put right there,
23:37it's going to look awesome.
23:38You know, we would show him what we added,
23:40and he's like, okay, now you need to add more.
23:42And I was like, oh, Lord.
23:43There's a limit where it starts looking a little tacky.
23:47Usually, I like to have my garment done the night before.
23:51Santino adds elements to his work up until the very last minute.
23:55He would just embellish it and embellish it and embellish it.
24:00I've already done sashes three times.
24:03Three different sashes?
24:04Yes.
24:05Okay?
24:06This is the third.
24:07Okay, that's ridiculous.
24:08Okay?
24:09I want it longer.
24:10I want that.
24:11I'm not talking about it.
24:12We don't have enough fabric to want it longer.
24:13Well, that's what happened.
24:14Well, if it's the whole team goes down, we're in trouble.
24:16I have a strong feeling that today's elimination
24:19is going to be team eliminations,
24:21and I'm going to snip your pippy off, Daniel,
24:25if you get me off this show.
24:27Just keep it delicate and beautiful
24:29and not looking like a bustle.
24:30I want one garment completely finished.
24:33We're going to have it.
24:34It's going to be an ugly elimination.
24:35The whole team is at risk.
24:37We get on stage, and, you know, we're the out team,
24:40and we have to defend ourselves.
24:41I'm going to totally blame it on him.
24:43This cut is cut.
24:44This is the way she saw it.
24:45This is the way she liked it.
24:46Please don't cut this out.
24:47Please don't cut it out.
24:48Please don't.
24:49I may or may not.
24:50I may do that.
24:51I may do that.
24:52I'm sorry, though.
24:53I may have to.
24:54It's going to look tacky and unfinished.
24:56It's not going to look tacky and finished.
24:57It's not going to look tacky and finished.
24:58It's not going to look tacky and finished.
24:59It's going to look cool.
25:00Yeah, it's going to look beautiful.
25:01It looks so pretty.
25:02What did you do?
25:03It's too heavy.
25:04It's not heavy.
25:05But I'm not cutting the other one.
25:07Daniel Franco kept changing things.
25:09They were so things he would take it apart
25:11You can apart and redo something.
25:12If I was on Daniel F's team,
25:14I think I would go a little crazy.
25:15I'm not gonna-
25:16Daniel, don't cut the sides.
25:18Don't, it's gonna look like we didn't have time to finish.
25:23We're gonna find a better trim there.
25:24I got an idea.
25:25We don't have a trim and we don't have time.
25:27I got an idea.
25:28Just let me go with it.
25:31The kids got too many ideas, okay?
25:33They don't trust my time management skills, I know that.
25:35But they trust the concept and the design.
25:38I can tell about how hard they're working.
25:40If we are called out as being one of the worst teams,
25:42I'm responsible for this vision.
25:44I am not gonna sell these two girls out.
25:53It's gonna be okay.
25:56Oh, it's too bad.
26:01They're all thong bottoms.
26:03We picked the most covered one for you.
26:05How is it the most covered one?
26:08The model did not want to wear the outfit
26:10that we made for her.
26:11And we let her choose which one she wanted to wear,
26:13but she didn't want to wear any of them.
26:15Okay, awesome.
26:16I feel like you just can't be that picky
26:19if you're a model because your job
26:21is to achieve different looks.
26:22And if you don't want to do that,
26:24then you should probably get a different job.
26:27Hold on.
26:28The other girls are all okay with it.
26:30And so, is she always like that?
26:33Well, like, she doesn't like her purple benton
26:35and, like, her eyelash.
26:37Yeah.
26:38I don't remember.
26:39She's so disrespectful.
26:40Yeah.
26:41You know, working with you guys is so nice.
26:43We have three great models.
26:44Great walks, great bodies.
26:46So I was really excited when we finally had the chance
26:48to put them in the garments.
26:52I want the three girls to look like deers in the face, okay?
27:00She could even have horns or something coming out of the top.
27:09It's a strong collection.
27:10With all the drama, it looks good,
27:12thanks to our sewing skills.
27:13And I know that, uh, working with me is, is, is tough.
27:16Right there.
27:17Uh-huh.
27:18But, uh, you know what?
27:19There's always a reason.
27:20It's the passion for us.
27:21I give it to you.
27:22It works.
27:23It's not gonna cover my whole chest,
27:25and I'm not gonna be comfortable.
27:26Do you know what I mean?
27:27We had to make care of this giant one piece.
27:29I was upset about it because I felt that it really detracted
27:32from the look of my collection.
27:35Here.
27:36Oh, wait a minute.
27:37Oh, dear.
27:38Wow.
27:39As weak as our group looked,
27:41Diana's even looked weaker.
27:43Everybody, this is it.
27:53Whatever condition the collection is in right now,
27:56you've gotta stop.
27:59I need you to follow me right now.
28:05Coming up on Project Runway.
28:08I'm a little disappointed.
28:10It's aesthetically not pleasing.
28:12I think it's supposed to come off, is what I think.
28:19Welcome to the runway.
28:21As you know in fashion, one day you're in,
28:24and the next day you're out.
28:27Your challenge was to design a lingerie line of three looks.
28:31This is a test of your team leader's vision,
28:34and your ability to work together to achieve that vision.
28:38And that's what we're judging tonight.
28:40Let's meet the judges.
28:41Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle magazine.
28:44Stepping in for Michael Kors today is fashion designer Cynthia Rawley,
28:50and fellow Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambozio.
28:56We will be scoring your designs as they come down the runway.
28:59The team with the highest score will be named the winner.
29:03And this week, anyone could be out.
29:05Okay, let's start the show.
29:17I thought that our collection was fairly successful.
29:20I tried to shoot for an in-between from the super creative and very wearable.
29:26The concept is strong, the color is strong.
29:31It's smooth, it's flowing, and it's cohesive.
29:42I'd like to think that we have a good chance that we won't lose.
29:45Because I think the concept is pretty innovative.
29:56What I'm showing on the runway, I'm happy about.
30:05I think overall, I'm getting across the dramatic look that I was going for with these pieces.
30:15I was actually proud to be part of that collection.
30:17I actually was looking at it, and I thought, it's kind of hot.
30:21I think Santino embellished to the point where it wasn't delicate and sexy any longer.
30:28It was vaudeville.
30:33When I was watching the lingerie come down the runway,
30:36I could see in the judges' faces, they weren't amused.
30:41They just didn't get it.
30:50I wasn't completely satisfied.
30:57I think no matter what, there's always something more you can work on.
31:05I think the work that Daniel got us to do really made sense as lingerie.
31:11These were things that you actually could use as undergarments.
31:15Ours looks the most like lingerie, but there were so many people with elaborate garments, I actually got concerned.
31:27When I came down the runway, I felt really proud, and so did my teammates.
31:33Chloe and Cara kept putting a lot of extra work into the clothes that I never imagined another designer would do for another designer.
31:42I mean, they look beautiful, but it's unfortunate that the silhouettes weren't thought out more.
31:46And so did my teammates, Chloe and Cara,
31:49and kept putting a lot of extra work into the clothes
31:52I'd never imagined, you know,
31:53another designer would do for another designer.
31:57I mean, they look beautiful,
31:59but it's unfortunate that the silhouettes
32:02weren't thought out more.
32:07At the end of the whole drama of getting it done,
32:11I thought we did a beautiful collection.
32:13It wasn't the most creative thing,
32:15but I was proud that it was actually sewn correctly.
32:33Designers, we've tallied your scores.
32:36Please step onto the runway.
32:45Daniel Vosovic's team, please step forward.
32:59We're doing things a little differently today.
33:04Daniel, surprise, you won this challenge.
33:09Your scores were much higher than the other teams.
33:15Congratulations, you three can leave the runway.
33:20I was so excited and so pleased
33:23that we pulled this one out of I don't even know where.
33:26but I was so happy, but I was so happy.
33:28My whole group was.
33:32Diana's team, please step forward.
33:38Your scores qualified you to move on to the next challenge.
33:41Oh, thank you.
33:42The three of you can leave the runway.
33:45Santino's team and Daniel Franco's team had the lowest scores.
34:06Let's bring out the models.
34:08Santino, I'm going to start with you, Nina.
34:26I'm a little disappointed.
34:28Really?
34:29OK.
34:30But first, I'll ask you, why did you pick this theme?
34:34It's not your run of the mill lingerie.
34:38When I think of lingerie, I think it needs to be sophisticated.
34:43It needs to have very close attention to detail.
34:46And what I feel here is that you have so much.
34:51There's a lot of things going on.
34:52And it's kind of like you're like, you know,
34:54you don't really know on what to focus on.
34:58If they were mixed with things that were more wearable,
35:00it might be just a little bit more understandable.
35:03But that's not my vision.
35:04And that's not what I was trying to present.
35:06It's aesthetically not pleasing.
35:08I think lingerie is sexy.
35:09And I think it's supposed to come off, is what I think.
35:12And it's supposed to be delicate.
35:13And it's made out of lace and pleats and beautiful satins.
35:17That's already been done.
35:18And that's not what I'm trying to do.
35:20It's already been done.
35:21And this has been done, too.
35:21No, tell me who.
35:23Tell me.
35:24Name names.
35:24Tell me.
35:25Who have you seen do this?
35:27This could be Galliano.
35:28Maybe.
35:28This could be McQueen.
35:29This could be so many people.
35:31This came organically.
35:32I'm not copying anyone.
35:34It looks not well made.
35:36I'm sorry.
35:38I'm sorry, Nina.
35:39I want to ask Nick what he thinks.
35:43I totally understood Santino's vision, because I know where he's coming from.
35:47Emmett, do you think it's too much?
35:49It's, uh, yes, I think it's too much.
35:53I want to ask a question to Santino.
35:57If one person in your team would have to be out, who would it be?
36:00Emmett designs menswear, and he designs in a way that has never suited me.
36:06So are you saying it would be Emmett?
36:07Yeah, I am.
36:09Nick, I want to ask you the same question.
36:12If you're asking me to make a choice, it would be Emmett.
36:16Emmett, who would you choose?
36:18I would choose Santino, because at the 11th hour, Santino had a meltdown, and Nick and
36:25I had to hold a team together.
36:28And I think that in a team, that the leader should take responsibility for the entire team.
36:33And if it doesn't work out, don't blame your team members.
36:40Okay, Daniel Franco.
36:42Hi.
36:43Alessandra, do you want to ask Daniel?
36:46Oh.
36:47It looks a little bit old, like an old woman would wear this kind of lingerie.
36:52Did you think on, like, young girls, what they like to wear?
36:56My focus was, of course, newlyweds or fiancés, people that are 30, maybe to 50.
37:02I wanted to give something sophisticated to their lives.
37:06I'm just curious why they have to be so similar.
37:10You are a designer.
37:12You know, I don't want to see three versions of the same dress.
37:15And Anna, you're three people.
37:17Chloe.
37:18We gave input, but at the end of the day, it was his vision, and we had to follow it, pretty much.
37:23I feel like it might have been helpful to have your teammates' inspiration to make the looks a little bit more diversified.
37:31It was very difficult because Daniel is very headstrong in the way he wants this thing to look.
37:37If there's one person you would have to choose to be out, it would be Daniel?
37:42I'd like to make a statement about that, that never before have I seen anyone
37:54has worked as passionately than these two.
38:00And I told them, if it goes down, that I have to go.
38:03I go.
38:04I don't sell them out.
38:05I'll take the plate.
38:07God, now this made me cry.
38:09I can't leave it.
38:11Okay, we heard what you had to say.
38:15You can leave the runway.
38:18The team leader had a much harder spot to be in than all the other designers, because really, quite frankly, their booty was in the line much more than all the other ones.
38:37Well, Santino looked costumey.
38:44I don't think he was thinking on the consumer.
38:47He was very fashion, but you want to sell while you're showing on the runway.
38:52When it came down to pointing out who should leave his team, he was the team leader, and he acted a bit as a coward, selling Emmett.
39:04You can't have the ego to be the leader and not have the responsibility to take the blame.
39:11But on the other hand, as a designer, he has more of a vision. He's more creative.
39:16But at the end, who has to go? It is him.
39:23Why do you think Daniel's vision didn't work?
39:25It was all too similar.
39:27He got the sexy, comfortable, but he wasn't creative.
39:32He was just so in it that he couldn't see that all three things looked the same.
39:38At least Daniel owned up to his responsibility.
39:42He said, if somebody has to go, it will be me.
39:45So we reached our decision.
39:50Let's bring back our designers.
39:59Santino's team and Daniel's team had the lowest scores.
40:07One of you will be out.
40:15This challenge was about vision and execution, leadership and teamwork.
40:28And we did not see that from either team.
40:31So one of you has to go.
40:36Cara, you're in. You can leave the runway.
40:46Chloe, you're in. You can leave the runway.
40:58Nick, you're in. You can leave the runway.
41:09Emmett.
41:12You're in. You can leave the runway.
41:15I'm not even happy.
41:34Daniel.
41:36We do believe in your talent.
41:39And we also do respect that you stand by your vision.
41:41But your collection was too safe.
41:46Santino.
41:48We respect your creativity.
41:50But none of us liked your collection.
41:53And it was also cowardly to blame Emmett.
42:01Santino.
42:02Santino.
42:07You're in.
42:10You can leave the runway.
42:16That means, Daniel, you are out.
42:19We never really got to know that Daniel and Project Runway won.
42:23And now I feel like I did a little bit and I wish you could have stayed longer.
42:29I really do.
42:33Thank you, Fidel.
42:35Auf Wiedersehen.
42:36Auf Wiedersehen.
42:37Ladies, thank you very much.
42:38It was a great honor.
42:39And I thank you for the opportunity.
42:42Goodbye.
42:43Goodbye.
42:46Thank you, Fidel.
42:50Thank you, Fidel.
42:51Daniel, you leave here with tremendous dignity and integrity.
43:03I have a lot of respect for that.
43:05Here he is.
43:06Thank you, Fidel.
43:07Here he is.
43:08Thank you, Fidel.
43:09Thank you, Fidel.
43:11Daniel, you leave here with tremendous dignity and integrity.
43:15I have a lot of respect for that.
43:23I have no regrets coming back.
43:25In fact, I feel if anything I finally have a sense of redemption.
43:29I could sleep better knowing that I got to show what I'm about.
