00:00This season on Project Runway, thousands of fashion hopefuls from around the country
00:08auditioned for a chance to become America's next-grade fashion designer.
00:12We picked the 15 best and flew them to New York to compete for the chance of a lifetime.
00:19Each week they were given a different challenge that tested their creativity and talent.
00:26And each week, one of them was sent home.
00:30Auf Wiedersehen.
00:31Eleven designers have been eliminated.
00:33Unlike years past, four designers remain.
00:36All four of us are going.
00:38And the stakes have never been higher as they're prepared to unveil their new collections at fashion's most prestigious venue, Olympus Fashion Week.
00:49Tonight, all 15 designers will meet again for the first time since they gathered in New York.
00:53We'll see exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
00:56The designers will answer your questions and we'll revisit the most memorable and controversial moments from Season 3 of Project Runway.
01:04This is Project Runway.
01:07Fashion is my life.
01:08I'm going to win.
01:0915 contestants.
01:11I'm fabulously glamorous.
01:13I got mad skills.
01:14But only one can be the winner.
01:16I'm better than they are.
01:17You've got to be kidding me.
01:19For these 15 contestants, Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime.
01:23This is very exciting.
01:27Welcome, designers, to your home away from home.
01:30Parsons, the new school for design.
01:32This is our reunion special and I'm very excited to see your faces again.
01:36You guys are all looking good.
01:37And speaking of good-looking people, I have one good-looking man sitting right next to me, Tim Gunn, who is your mentor and chair of the Department of Fashion Design at Parsons.
01:47Thank you, Heidi.
01:48It's wonderful to be back.
01:49And tonight, as a testament to the show's success, we'll recount the moments that made Season 3 so very special by using clips and discussions and questions sent in from fans via bravotv.com.
02:03Later in the show, we will also announce the winner of bravotv.com's fan-favorite competition.
02:09The votes are in and the winner will receive a check for $10,000 tonight.
02:14Very thrilling, isn't it?
02:15Yes, it's a lot of money.
02:16Yes.
02:17But first, before we start with that, I would love to hear how it's been being recognized by people since the show started airing.
02:24Bradley, how's it been for you?
02:25You look different.
02:26No one can recognize me anymore.
02:27Well, they will after they see this show.
02:30I had one girl come up to me.
02:33Oh, were you in Project Runway?
02:34And I said, uh, yeah.
02:36She said, oh my God, oh my God, you sucked!
02:38And ran away.
02:39And I was like, and then I was like, and then I kind of was like, fine.
02:44How about you, Vincent?
02:45Knowing who your fans are and why they like you is a beautiful thing.
02:50Did it turn you on?
02:51I know you got turned on by one.
02:53I can't help but be turned on.
02:58Milan, how was it for you?
03:00It's been actually really amazing, the response.
03:02You showed at Fashion Week.
03:03Yeah, I had a show at Fashion Week.
03:05And it's congratulations.
03:09Angela, how has been the public reaction to you since the show has been aired?
03:14Wow.
03:15Especially after the mom episode, I couldn't walk through the streets of Los Angeles without getting mobbed and people giving me their sympathy.
03:22And I've loved every second of it.
03:25Okay, before I bring out our four finalists, I would like to hear who you thought would have been one of our finalists.
03:34I thought Allison would be.
03:36She has a distinct point of view that I think is wearable by so many women out there.
03:41I thought you'd be out there.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Vincent.
03:45I thought Cain would be out there.
03:47He has an outstanding presentation and an outstanding product, and he's going to do very well.
03:52I thought Robert would.
03:55I thought I was, too.
03:57It was a shock to me when I was out.
04:01Okay, why don't we bring out our finalists?
04:04And first, I would like to start with the person that won our last challenge.
04:08Fräulein Uli Herzner.
04:11Hi, guys.
04:13Hi.
04:14Our next designer is the youngest of our final four, but we won't hold that against him.
04:20Let's bring out Michael Knight.
04:21Woo!
04:27Our next designer is very outspoken and very colorful, Jeffrey Sebelia.
04:34Yeah!
04:37Our last designer knew how to make a statement, whether it was through her personal style or her unsparing choice of words.
04:44Laura.
04:44What are you talking about?
04:50You grew bigger since the last time I saw you.
04:53You grew bigger, too.
04:54You look great.
04:55You do, too.
04:56We have a lot of questions come in for you from BravoTV.com, and the first one is going to Laura, and it is from Irvine, California.
05:04And they want to know if you own a pair of jeans.
05:11Actually, riding pants and boots, that's sort of my version of jeans and sneakers.
05:15If I have a lot of errands to run and I just really need to be comfortable, that's what I wear, but I generally just don't wear jeans.
05:22Wow.
05:22I do have to say I've never seen you in jeans either.
05:25Yeah, you haven't?
05:25You always marry James Bond.
05:29No, I have James.
05:31This year on Project Runway, we ended up with a final four instead of a final three.
05:36Let's see how we got there.
05:37Let's start with the winner.
05:44Congratulations.
05:48Uli, you're the winner of this challenge.
05:52Laura, you're in.
06:02Michael, Jeffrey,
06:05Jeffrey,
06:05Jeffrey,
06:05Jeffrey,
06:05Jeffrey,
06:07you're both
06:09in.
06:15You can leave the runway.
06:20All four of us are going.
06:21All four of us are going.
06:26Yay.
06:27Yay.
06:30How did you guys feel during that judging?
06:32I sweat looking at that.
06:34Like, I still feel that same feeling.
06:36And I was really like, oh, my God, this could not be happening to me.
06:40This could not be happening.
06:40Were you surprised that we took all of you?
06:43Well, I was.
06:44I didn't think it was going to go that way.
06:46I didn't really think that was going to happen either.
06:47I was thrilled by it.
06:48I was hoping for four because we're all so different.
06:51How did the rest of you feel about a final four?
06:54We all have been up there, obviously, and on the bad end.
06:57It's just nice to say, oh, thank God, they were nice for once.
07:01I think the final four is perfect.
07:04I mean, each one of these people are very different.
07:06I respect you for different reasons.
07:07And I think definitely these four need to show their works.
07:11I think, you know, honestly, it could have been any four, you know, and it would have been interesting.
07:17At the beginning of the season, there was also one person that we pretty much all thought were going to make it to Olympus Fashion Week and sit in that very seat.
07:26But unfortunately, he was disqualified, and I'm talking about Keith Michael.
07:35And he's here.
07:37So let's give him a welcome.
07:52Hi, how are you?
07:53I'm fine.
07:53How about yourself?
07:54Very good.
07:55Good.
07:56But I want to know, how has it been for you?
07:58Because I remember the last time we interviewed you and spoke to you, you were worried, I'm going to be a laughingstock.
08:04Has it been like that?
08:05Well, not really, actually.
08:07I don't think I gave my friends enough credit because they were all really supportive.
08:12Keith, the episode in which you were eliminated has been one of the most talked about in all three seasons.
08:16And let's take a look at what happened.
08:20We have very clear and concise rules for our designers on Project Runway.
08:25One of the absolute no-no's is no fashion how-to books.
08:30None of any kind.
08:31Hi.
08:31Hey.
08:32Hey.
08:33How are you?
08:33We have a couple of issues.
08:34We have a couple of issues.
08:37One is the books that are illegal.
08:41Right.
08:41You're incredibly talented.
08:44And that's why these books make me sick.
08:47For the designers on the show, it's definitely in the show.
08:52Right.
08:53And the other is your departure.
08:58And accordingly, we're going to have to ask you to leave.
09:02We need you to get yourself together tonight.
09:10Okay.
09:11And you'll leave tonight.
09:13Right.
09:13It's a competition with extreme odds.
09:20You know, like...
09:20Yes.
09:21You're angry.
09:21Understood.
09:22Or do you not see you brought this on yourself?
09:25My image has been tarnished forever.
09:28I'm off the show.
09:29And I'm going to be a laughingstock to my friends.
09:33I felt bad.
09:35I think that we wind up finding scapegoats sometimes.
09:38How do you guys all feel about that?
09:42Do you think it was fair?
09:43Was it the right thing to do?
09:45I think it was fair.
09:46If you're going to have rules, if everyone's abiding by them, it's not a personal thing.
09:51Allison, you were very sad when he left.
09:54Yeah.
09:54Well, I mean, Keith was, like, one of the contestants I had become closest with and related to the most.
10:00How about you, Cain?
10:01You found these books.
10:03You know, it wasn't my goal to come here and have someone kicked off.
10:07And as you can see there, I honestly felt sad for him.
10:11But I know that we all signed a contract, and we were not allowed to have even so much as a magazine.
10:16Keith, do you think this outcome was fair?
10:18You know, I'm obviously upset.
10:20You can see in my eyes and in my face I'm upset.
10:22So do I think the outcome was fair?
10:24No.
10:25I don't.
10:28Wasn't in the contract that we couldn't bring books?
10:30Yeah, it was.
10:31Yeah, it was.
10:31I don't recall reading that.
10:33It was explicit.
10:34It was in big black letters.
10:36Yeah.
10:36Yeah, there's, yeah, designer roles.
10:38You were not supposed to have pattern books.
10:40None of you.
10:41You were supposed to come with your brain, with your fingers, and with your talent inside of you.
10:45And that is it.
10:46I know that if I even look at a pattern on how to make a Y-dart, that suddenly triggers a whole slew of creative ideas.
10:53All right.
10:53Well, okay, so they were taken away from me when I, when I got here.
10:57They were then returned a week later to my room.
11:00I was then dismissed from the show for having books in my room.
11:04Uncomfortable, isn't it?
11:06I find that so hard to believe.
11:08The producers don't play hanky-panky.
11:10They don't.
11:10They don't need to.
11:11There's enough stuff that happens just by virtue of the fact that we're all together.
11:14Somehow those books were returned to my room.
11:16They were removed from my possession.
11:17I have worked with these producers for three seasons now.
11:20Their seriousness, their integrity is unimpugnable.
11:24And basically, Keith, you're saying you were set up and sabotaged.
11:27I didn't say I was set up.
11:28I don't know what transpired.
11:29But Keith, you are suggesting it's a conspiracy.
11:31Not a conspiracy.
11:33I don't know how it got into my room.
11:35I really have no idea.
11:37I have absolutely no idea.
11:39Jeffrey, what did you think about the whole thing?
11:41Do you think it was fair that Keith was asked to leave?
11:44I do think it's fair.
11:44There were a lot of people that were really upset about it.
11:48And I think maybe Keith should have handled it differently because he left.
11:53Well, can I just say that we have another issue?
11:54And the issue was Keith leaving production.
11:56You left for several hours, even though you were told not to.
12:00Where did you go for all these hours?
12:02Well, people were very upset about this discovery of books.
12:08And there were all sorts of kind of whispering and gossiping about, you know, Keith.
12:13The reason why he's doing so well is because he has all these amazing, magical books that are giving him...
12:17But don't you think, like, logically, it would have been much better to stick around?
12:20You know, I think if you believe you're right, like you didn't do anything wrong, like with an accident, if you bump into another car, you don't just go.
12:27You stay there.
12:28You wait until...
12:29What I did was I spoke to one of the production assistants.
12:32I said, listen, things are getting very escalated.
12:34I'm very uncomfortable.
12:36And I said, I'm leaving.
12:38And she pointed towards the door.
12:40So I said, fine, I'm going.
12:42I find it very hard to believe that someone would just say, well, there's the door.
12:46Just go if you want.
12:47We couldn't even go alone to the toilet without somebody following us.
12:52So things like this wouldn't happen.
12:53No one can make a phone call in here without anyone knowing about it.
12:56Regardless, you're just asking me what the story is.
12:59That's the story.
13:00I'm not going to just, you know, roll over like a puppy, as you've been quoted as saying about me.
13:06I said that when I presented this information to you, I frankly was expecting a confrontation and a bit of a fight.
13:13And I said, you rolled over like a puppy, because from my perception, you did.
13:16But we really need to leave this, because we could spend the next 24 hours talking about it.
13:20We're not going to resolve it.
13:21It's getting too hot.
13:22Okay, I thought so.
13:23I think we take a break, and we'll be right back.
13:25Coming up on Project Runway.
13:28When I said amateur, I meant amateur not being up to that level of design.
13:33Laura, what do you think?
13:34I think Vincent's delusional.
13:37Yeah, you said that already.
13:42Welcome back, everyone.
13:44Now I would like to speak about a man that has a lot of knowledge and a lot of amazing words that sometimes I have no idea what he's talking about.
13:54And that is you.
13:55Oh, no.
13:55And there were so many of them, and the moments were so amazing that we had to put a little clip together.
14:00Oh, no.
14:00Oh, yes.
14:01Oh, yes.
14:04Tim Gunn is a dictionary.
14:06He uses the best words.
14:09You'll find a way of mitigating that center scene.
14:11Well, um...
14:12Half the time when he says stuff, I'm like, okay, I'm going to have to try to figure that out.
14:21Oh.
14:22The whole thing looks like faux-bois.
14:27Good.
14:27Tim used some really big $3 words like scuttlebucket and consternation.
14:34Why is there so much consternation?
14:40And Sturm und Drang.
14:47What's going on?
14:48He also likes to use this word caucus, which is hilarious, too, because it always makes me think of politics.
14:54You have 15 minutes to caucus.
15:00This is a very circuitous staircase.
15:03When I first approached this, I was ambivalent about it.
15:05You came in and placated me, at least.
15:08Constructivist.
15:09Amorphous.
15:09Contrivance.
15:10Misapprehension.
15:11Egregious.
15:12Quotient.
15:12Anemic.
15:13Congratulations.
15:14See, all that Sturm und Drang was worth it.
15:21You are a walking dick to me.
15:23And, of course, for you, too, Tim, we had a lot of people that emailed us and that wanted to ask you some questions.
15:28We have one that comes from Jen in Portland, Oregon.
15:31Do you design clothing yourself?
15:33Are there Tim Gunn originals out there?
15:36I'm a design educator, actually, but I'm not a practicing fashion designer.
15:39We cannot imagine you sitting at home with a sewing machine.
15:42I always sew, but the Tim Gunn originals out there are in the form of sculpture.
15:46And paintings and drawings is really fine arts work, really.
15:50Oh.
15:50So.
15:51You make sculptures and things.
15:52Yes.
15:52I love it.
15:53Designers, you had your own idiosyncratic lexicon this past season.
15:57So Turnabout is fair play, and I want us to take a look.
16:01Look over there at the end of the day, and I go, oh, Lord, he's making some serious ugly.
16:07There is some serious ugly in this room right now.
16:11Bradley is sewing some serious ugly down there.
16:14There's some serious ugly being made in Kane's Corner right now.
16:18Gorgeous, sister, gorgeous.
16:21A lot ugly happening on that dress form.
16:23Um, yeah, there's some serious ugly.
16:25That dress had such a history of ugly.
16:28I've been labeled the boring designer.
16:34I know a thing or two about fabrics.
16:37Even though I like boring fabrics, mostly.
16:40That is boring.
16:41Because I'm a bore.
16:42Some people say boring.
16:44I say brilliant.
16:45I'm going to do my same boring palette and just really feed them boring time after time.
16:51You're boring.
16:52And I know boring.
16:53Heidi's a bore.
16:54Are you kidding?
16:55That's why she took it out on me.
16:56It was a personal attack based on her own insecurities.
16:59Don't you get it?
17:00Uh, that, that turns me on.
17:06I told my wife, I said, I am so turned on by being with people of this caliber.
17:10It turns me on.
17:11It makes me work well.
17:12That woman was so turned on, man.
17:14It was like, when we met, it was just, it was down, you know?
17:17And what turns everybody on, turns everybody on, you know?
17:21Yep.
17:21I turn, I got like super turned on by that shit, you know?
17:24It just turns me on.
17:25Not that we don't like our teens.
17:52I'm sorry, I wasn't listening to it.
17:55That was great.
17:59So I want to know from you guys what it was like to work with Tim.
18:02Uh-oh.
18:04Actually, when Tim comes, it really always helps you and it's really positive.
18:07And he almost becomes like a dad, like you grow really close.
18:11And I think everybody from us was still like, when we're 95, if we make it that long,
18:15we will still remember Tim Gunn.
18:17Then there's one of you designers that made a comment on EW.com.
18:22Tim has been bad-mouthing me ever since the show started because I didn't choose to bow down to Tim.
18:29If he gave me constructive advice, I would thank him.
18:32But if he tried other things, I would dismiss him.
18:36And that came from Vincent.
18:37It did indeed.
18:39It did indeed.
18:40And I'll definitely stand by that.
18:41I don't go to blog spots, but people have been telling me that you've been very, very, you know,
18:46rather not yourself, I would think, on these blog spots.
18:48So, I mean, uh...
18:50Well, if you haven't read my blog, which is on the RoboTV.com Project Runway website,
18:55I wish you would because my comments are purely about your designs, not about your character.
19:00I just wanted to help give you some feedback.
19:02You also didn't just go after Tim because you continued on saying,
19:07if you look at the show and you know anything about design,
19:10you can see clearly who the designer was.
19:13This show is full of amateur designers.
19:15How do you guys feel about that?
19:16Amateur designers.
19:17We got on the show together, so if I'm an amateur, you are as well, you know?
19:22When I said amateur, I meant amateur not being up to that level of design.
19:27So, I did not think of any of these designers.
19:30Laura, what do you think?
19:32I think Vincent's delusional.
19:35Yeah, you said that already.
19:37You know, I think it's great that he loves and respects his own work,
19:41but I don't agree with his opinion about who's amateur and who's not disagree with him.
19:47It's just that there is a certain prerequisite that I think a designer owns, and I saw a lot of...
19:51So, you're the only real designer.
19:53Why are you on the show with, like, 50 years?
19:55Why don't you have a big business already?
19:57This is my opinion, and I'm entitled to my opinion.
19:59And I'm proud of my opinion, and I stand by my opinion.
20:02That's what's amateurish, is dogging other people's work.
20:05You know, I never...
20:06Wait, I never chose to dog anyone on this show.
20:09It's not my style.
20:10But calling us amateurs and saying that...
20:10No, I'm not calling you amateurs.
20:12You're not real designers.
20:12You're good.
20:13No, what I'm trying...
20:13You did.
20:14You're not understanding something.
20:15I'm saying that it takes a certain level to be at a certain level of design,
20:19and I still stand by that, you know.
20:22Vincent, I have no idea what you're talking about.
20:24I don't either.
20:25Me either.
20:25Me either.
20:26Well, whether it was good or it was bad, Cain always had something to say.
20:32And Cain, in some ways, I was more interested in how fast you said something
20:37rather than what it was you were saying.
20:40So we want to take a look and a listen.
20:41I'm going to talk a million miles a minute.
20:46First off, I'm from Nashville, Tennessee.
20:47I love you.
20:47I watch the pageant.
20:48I'm weighing the pageants.
20:49Blah, blah, blah.
20:49Two of my sisters do the pageants.
20:50I don't know a lot about them.
20:51Anyway, cut to the chase.
20:52What I visualize for you is something incredibly gorgeous.
20:54I haven't narrowed down a color yet.
20:55I would love to see like others, olive greens, or something like that.
20:58I don't know.
20:58And this can be Ixnate.
20:59We don't have to have this.
21:00That's why I chose the black Austrian crystal detail as opposed to clear rhinestones,
21:03because my original vision, of course, was the clear, because I love sparkle.
21:07Surprise.
21:07No, I wouldn't wear my cane belt, and I wouldn't wear my big ropey chain accessories, blah,
21:11blah.
21:11The line of your dress starts higher, and it also frames your beautiful face, because
21:15you are freaking gorgeous.
21:16Okay.
21:16Let me tell you what else this is.
21:17This is Mylar.
21:17That was in long strips.
21:18Hence, by the top, it's a little bit better.
21:20And like, if you turn around and see the back, the whole thing was supposed to be corseted.
21:23I did some other piddling, but I really wasn't crazy about those.
21:25Those were my first ones to get to where I was at.
21:27And then I thought it would be gorgeous to have this about you in the dress and how you feel.
21:30Obviously, you know all this stuff.
21:31But that's the look and the whole feeling that I want for you.
21:34You need to feel like a million bucks.
21:35So, okay.
21:36Okay, thank you.
21:38Woo, I can breathe.
21:38Breathe.
21:39Breathe.
21:39Thanks so much.
21:40Love you, Mina.
21:41Have a good day.
21:41Okay.
21:51What's funny, I feel like I want to say what I said to my model, Amanda.
21:55Shut up.
21:58So, since you're so good at this, do you want to send us to commercial?
22:01Yeah.
22:02Thank you, everyone, for watching The Project Runway Season 3.
22:04Reunion Special.
22:05We'll be back right after this commercial.
22:11Coming up on Project Runway.
22:13Now, don't paint it like my mom was going behind your back and trying to sabotage you.
22:17I would like to announce the winner of BravoTV.com's fan favorite competition.
22:27Welcome back.
22:28This group has certainly generated a tremendous amount of interest and I have to say, Milan, you're one of the designers I'm most frequently asked about.
22:36Really?
22:37And what has the public reaction to you, Ben?
22:39Really amazing.
22:40I have received over two million emails.
22:43So, a lot of support.
22:44Yeah, a lot of support.
22:45It's been really amazing.
22:46And I think if it weren't for that support after being off on the show, I don't know if I would have had a show at Fashion Week.
22:52You said that you did not get a lot of support from your family.
22:56No, not at all.
22:57Why is that?
22:58I just think that because of fears of my being gay when I was young, I think parents, they're afraid that maybe their child will grow up and be something that is not socially acceptable.
23:12And there's a huge opportunity for parents to really nurture their children and to really believe in them.
23:19And who cares if you're gay, straight or what you are, you know?
23:22We have a question for you via BravoTV.com and it's from Ben.
23:25Ben writes, Milan, I love your accent.
23:29Where does it come from?
23:30I was born in Taiwan.
23:31I traveled through Hong Kong and lived through Hong Kong, Australia, and then the States as well growing up.
23:37And so, it's pretty much a derivative of all of that.
23:39It's Milanese.
23:43The laugh is really the best.
23:46We have a whole thing for you to watch.
23:53Let's have a look.
23:55Sometimes he starts at laughing thing.
24:05No, that's not it.
24:15It's kind of like Cary Grant meets any monster.
24:21That's good.
24:28If you're in a bad mood, you just put Milan on.
24:30That's very sweet.
24:31Yeah, I love it.
24:32I thought it was super sweet.
24:33Designers, I don't know when we've had a wider variety of different kinds of challenges than in this season.
24:39Which one was the most enjoyable for you?
24:42The doggy challenge.
24:43Yeah?
24:44The dog challenge?
24:44Why the dog challenge?
24:46It just added so much fun to it.
24:49I know.
24:49Because, like, animals make me happy.
24:51I think everybody kind of had that effect.
24:53Well, which challenge was the hardest then?
24:56Which one was the most difficult?
24:57The mom challenge.
24:58The mom challenge, yeah.
24:59Why was the mom challenge so difficult?
25:00Because I think, you know, everyone's like, oh, well, you're not good at designing plus-size clothes.
25:06I'm like, damn straight.
25:07I never said I was.
25:08So I think it could completely break out of your shell and immediately be designing in a whole different scale.
25:15And also they were talking back.
25:17Normally the models don't really talk back that much.
25:19And then also that there's someone's on the show's mom and, except for some people, you don't want to make them cry.
25:27Some people do.
25:30One of the most dramatic aspects of it was the dynamic between Jeffrey and Angela's mom, Darlene.
25:37So let's take a look back at that.
25:42I'm going to make the dress I'm going to make.
25:44I hope you like it.
25:45If you don't like it, there's nothing I can do about that.
25:47I only hope the judges like it.
25:49Well, then it's not what I expected.
25:51Why am I being treated like this?
25:53I don't appreciate you even standing here.
25:55Do you talk to everybody like this?
25:57How am I treating you?
25:58Jeffrey.
25:58I'm just being honest with you.
25:59I'm being honest with you.
26:00When I was asking my opinion, if you were standing right there, I would have said the exact same thing.
26:05Maybe other people find things about you that are beautiful that you don't find in yourself because of your insecurities.
26:10How does that sound?
26:11I think if you have your own taste in clothes, does it mean you're insecure?
26:14Excuse me.
26:18I'm really upset and I'm really insulted.
26:23Nobody talks to me that way.
26:25I'm trying not to let him get to you, Mom.
26:27He's, he's, this is typical Jeffrey.
26:30There's so much hate in his voice.
26:33It's okay, Mom.
26:34It's been so great up till now.
26:36It's okay.
26:37It's still going to be great.
26:39Angela, Jeffrey, are you guys looking at this differently now?
26:51No.
26:52It hasn't happened any differently.
26:54How about you?
26:56I don't really know what to say.
26:57It's just really emotional.
26:58And I didn't, I didn't want to make Darlene cry.
27:03You know, I really, honestly, it's not like I got the challenge and thought, okay, this is my opportunity to make this woman cry.
27:08The thing that irked me the most is that Darlene was never planning to tell me that she didn't like the color or the dress.
27:14And had no one asked her, we would have gotten up on the runway and she would have said, I hate this.
27:20That's not true.
27:21Well, when I.
27:21She said, no, don't paint it like my mom was going behind your back and trying to sabotage you.
27:25When I asked her why she didn't tell me.
27:26That's absolutely a reflection on your character and what you would do to somebody, not my mother.
27:30Fine if you think that.
27:31But when I asked your mother why she didn't tell me, her response was because she didn't want to hurt my feelings.
27:36And I said, I don't appreciate you not telling me to my face.
27:39There are only four hours left.
27:41At this point, if you don't like it, I can't do anything about that.
27:43So will you please leave?
27:44To me, Jeffrey didn't handle it properly in how he spoke to her.
27:48And I think he knows it, though, because that's just inappropriate to talk to any client that way.
27:54I think a lot of the other mothers were like, you do what you need to do.
27:58I'll walk it on the runway.
28:00I'm here to help you.
28:02You know, and Angela's mother took it really personally.
28:06So Jeffrey had a much harder time.
28:08Jeffrey, what if the tables had been turned?
28:10What if your mother had been treated this way?
28:12How would you have responded?
28:13I would have walked over to see what was going on, and I would have tried to assist my mom in talking to whoever it was that was talking to her like that.
28:20Did you ever apologize to Darlene?
28:22I don't know that I had the chance to.
28:24You know, things happened.
28:26Yes, you did.
28:28I asked you to apologize to my mom the morning of the runway show, and you said, I'm not apologizing to anybody.
28:34The circumstances were what they were.
28:37I was stressed out, and, you know...
28:41It's just unfortunate that my mom had to get thrown into it.
28:45And I think, Jeffrey, if we had met under different circumstances, that we could have...
28:50We would have...
28:51We could have been friends, or we would have, you know...
28:54No, but I mean, if this one challenge would have not been there, you guys would have run off like lovebirds.
29:05They would be dating.
29:07With the sun going down.
29:07They would be dating.
29:08I don't know.
29:08Well, I want to segue to another dramatic moment.
29:14It may be one of the most dramatic, in some ways, scariest moments of the season, and it has never been shown, because it happened between Vincent and one of the producers.
29:24Vincent, you know what I'm talking about?
29:26Let's see it.
29:27We, to explain to everyone who is watching, the production does the laundry for the designers.
29:33Oh, ha, ha.
29:34So, let's see what happens.
29:36This was good.
29:37Very particular.
29:38So, let's take a look.
29:43That's it, Dawn.
29:44I told these people 25 times, don't put my clothes in the freaking laundry.
29:50Where's this guy?
29:51Get me, I'm out of here.
29:52That's bullshit.
29:53I told these people not to do this to my clothes.
29:56I am so pissed off right now.
29:58No respect.
30:00Who's going to pay the bill for my clothes?
30:03He crazy.
30:04He took the words right out of my mouth.
30:06He crazy.
30:06I've been saying since day one, he crazy.
30:09Do not put my freaking clothes in the laundry.
30:11A hundred and twenty-five dollar fucking goddamn shirt's ruined.
30:14I told him I wrote a fucking note in there.
30:19I put it in the bag.
30:20Don't fluff and fold the shirts.
30:22Throw a bubble wash.
30:24God, I wrote a note.
30:26I put it in the bag.
30:27I put it separate.
30:28I told the fucking guy, don't do it.
30:31Don't do it.
30:32I'll wear them dirty.
30:32It's not funny, Michael.
30:34This shit is not cheap shit.
30:36But why, why, though, man?
30:39Get me all this shit.
30:40You all give me the fuck.
30:41I just told the motherfucking motherfucking motherfucking motherfucking.
30:43I told that motherfucker ten times about my shirt.
30:46Fuck you, I'm out of here.
30:47Get me a motherfucking plane ticket.
30:49Fuck this shit.
30:50That's it.
30:50Fuck you all.
30:52I told the fuck you guys.
30:54Don't do it.
30:55Is that Vincent yelling down there?
30:57Fuck you.
30:58Don't fuck you.
30:59All right.
31:03We never had to bleep anything so much ever.
31:11Okay, stick around, because later in the show, we'll announce the winner of BravoTV.com's
31:16fan favorite competition.
31:18One of you will get a check for $10,000.
31:23So stick around.
31:26Coming up on Project Runway.
31:28You've just won $10,000.
31:31And our two special guests have that very check for you.
31:39Okay, I have two special guests that I would like to bring out.
31:42But before I do that, I would like to announce the winner of BravoTV.com's fan favorite competition.
31:49For the last two weeks, we have asked all the fans out there that are watching you guys,
31:54who is their favorite designer.
31:57And their favorite designer is Michael Knight.
32:01Congratulations, Michael.
32:06We've just won $10,000.
32:08We're just like that.
32:10Wow.
32:11And our two special guests have that very check for you.
32:14Oh, okay.
32:15Here they are.
32:15Yeah, it is one of the most big obnoxious poster checks.
32:19Yay!
32:26Wow.
32:27Congratulations.
32:28Congratulations.
32:28Oh, congratulations.
32:30Wow.
32:31Don't spend it all in one place.
32:33This is a big check.
32:34Yeah, it's huge.
32:36Wow.
32:36That's very nice to know that you have a lot of fans out there.
32:40The support I've really been getting about my work has been unbelievable.
32:44And to hear other designers give me great compliments and support, and it's been really, really, really,
32:50really great for me.
32:51And then now the nation.
32:52So it's really, really cool.
32:53I really appreciate it.
32:54I'm excited to see what you have to show up here.
32:57I'm excited to show up.
32:58I'm ready.
32:59I'm ready.
32:59And I would like to welcome my fellow judges, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.
33:03Hi.
33:04As we know, fashion is very subjective, and it almost always boils down to a matter of
33:08taste.
33:09But on Project Runway, we do have a system for scoring.
33:12And Heidi, would you like to explain that system?
33:14And then would you and Nina and Michael like to talk about the criteria that you used for
33:18judging?
33:18Sure.
33:19Basically, we score from one to five, five being the highest score.
33:23Then we add all of our scores together from all the judges.
33:27You know, later we do the Q&A, and we ask you designers on what you thought and what
33:31your philosophy was, and maybe sometimes then we change how we thought about this particular
33:36garment.
33:37I'm really judging by what the challenge was, whether it's creative, whether it's realistic,
33:44imaginative, all those things come into play.
33:47Yeah, I mean, I try to look at each challenge really separately.
33:51I'm not looking at your entire body of work.
33:54I want to see is it the best that you could do for your style or your style or your style.
33:58We're going to offer the designers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity here.
34:02And Michael, do you want to tell them about it?
34:04We wanted to kind of open it up so that you guys can ask us, why did you do that?
34:10Why did you react that way to something that I showed or something that I did?
34:14Okay, I have a question about the dog challenge where I did the bubble skirt and the tank top.
34:19Okay, if my story had been different, would that have changed your opinion of the outfit?
34:26It wouldn't have mattered if she was an au pair or not.
34:28She didn't like it no matter what she did.
34:30It wasn't an issue of the Paris or not au pair, it was an issue of the clothes.
34:37So it was the proportion as well as the...
34:38It was just, yes.
34:40I mean, everything was, it was so hoochie.
34:42The top was hoochie, the skirt was too short.
34:44I mean, it was a hoochie mama outfit.
34:46She's a hooker.
34:47I mean, great.
34:49Okay, I have a question.
34:50I'll speak up.
34:51Just to go back to, like, my couture dress.
34:54My idea of what I wanted, honestly, was a solid color dress.
34:57But there were no fabrics that would go together.
35:00But if I had done that dress, say, in red or in a solid color, would that have made it a little bit more...
35:05Oh, but it's a different dress.
35:07Was it just the fabric and all the colors together?
35:09Because I have got nothing but wonderful response about that dress.
35:12You know what?
35:13Listen, there's all kinds of taste out there.
35:15If you love glamorama and that's your thing and you like to be a little over the top, hey, that's great.
35:22But there's still the best over the top.
35:24I don't think that any of us...
35:25Nina, did you want to see him suddenly, you know, become the new Norman Norell?
35:30I mean, no, that's not it at all.
35:32You have to be you, but you can temper it and find the best way to do it.
35:36One of the most controversial decisions involved the recycling challenge.
35:41That's the challenge in which Allison was eliminated.
35:43Allison, how do you feel about that?
35:46I mean, at this point, I've moved on.
35:48You know, I had a specific idea in mind when I was creating my dress.
35:52And when I had it on the dress form, I really loved it.
35:54But when I saw that come down the runway, I was just like, oh, no.
35:58But I think that when you took it off the mannequin and you put it on your model and she wasn't really giving you what your dress form was giving you,
36:05then you should have, like, been able to stand back and say, okay, in the inimitable words, you have to make it work.
36:11Do you think you ever made a wrong decision?
36:14Did you ever, a couple days later, like, rethink it or re-see an episode and say, you know, I think I judged too hastily?
36:20No.
36:20I always do my gut reaction as it comes out and then I do go back.
36:25If I had to go with what I just wrote initially, perhaps I would be wrong.
36:30But after I see it all, I always kind of look at it and say, what am I thinking?
36:34To be honest, sometimes I was surprised that we even could make a decision at all because we had barking dogs sometimes, the alarm went off.
36:43Let's take a look at these clips.
36:47You know, if someone comes in while we're working on a collection, they'll be like, are you crazy?
36:53You know?
36:56What's that?
36:58Alarm?
36:59That's relaxing.
37:02You know, smoking in the bathroom.
37:04Okay.
37:09Okay.
37:13Yeah.
37:23Oh, no!
37:27If you look romantic and sweet and charming, great.
37:31I think when she's, I think she's about to.
37:33Are you all right, Marlinda?
37:35She's not feeling good.
37:36Sit down, sweetheart.
37:37Come here.
37:37Sorry, brother.
37:37It's okay.
37:38It's okay.
37:39Can we get a stool?
37:40Yeah.
37:40Sorry about the guy.
37:41The fainting models.
37:42The fainting models.
37:45Mighty Linda, I'll give her a pass just because she's never done that before, so for her to do that, she obviously was not feeling well, but Amanda, she's just crazy.
37:57This model's about to pass out.
37:59She's feeling very sick and she's overcome.
38:01Sit down here.
38:04Okay.
38:04My model is a hypochondriac, and anytime she's in the bottom, she did this whole fainting shindig.
38:10She was not feeling well, blah, blah, blah.
38:12You have that a lot, no?
38:18Why do you have that a lot?
38:22Sorry.
38:23Oh, did that hit?
38:31Did you do that?
38:32It's my word.
38:33It's my word.
38:34That's his pig.
38:36I left over a barbecue pork ribs.
38:38Oh, my God.
38:40Okay, let's bring out the designers.
38:43Jeffrey, what is wrong with you?
38:47That was great.
38:49Oh, that was great.
38:53Stay tuned, because when we come back, we're going to talk about our four very special designers
38:59and who has what it takes to win Project Runway.
39:03Coming up on Project Runway.
39:05I would like to hear what your predictions are who will win Project Runway.
39:09I don't know who will win this, but they're all going to throw down.
39:18Welcome back.
39:19So now that we are without our four finalists, I would like to hear what your predictions
39:23are who will win Project Runway.
39:25I have a few favorites.
39:27Maybe Uli, but I think all of them are going to show some pretty amazing stuff.
39:33I think Laura could be the dark horse and surprise everyone.
39:36See, I think Michael is the strongest.
39:37I think Jeffrey and Michael are in my top, too.
39:43Yeah.
39:43I kind of feel that Michael and Laura are really going to be right there.
39:48Her pattern making and her design on a woman's body is wonderful.
39:52Michael's edge, though, is the actual design.
39:55It's very young and very fresh.
39:57Keith, do you have a favorite?
39:59I think that Jeffrey, to me, is the most innovative designer.
40:03He has the most youthful and progressive point of view.
40:07But Uli, I do like her perspective, and she does it so well, so beautifully.
40:12And Angela?
40:14It's really anybody's game.
40:15It just depends on how they responded to the pressure.
40:18Vincent, what do you think?
40:19I don't know who will win this, but I'm very interested in seeing what they all do,
40:25because they're all going to throw down.
40:26I would say let's take a look at what some of our previous season designers had to say
40:32about these four finalists.
40:36I definitely think Michael Knight's going to win, because you pick the gay white guy first,
40:42then you pick the Asian immigrant second, and you're going to pick the black guy third.
40:48I totally want Michael Knight to win this season.
40:52I think he's the best one out of all of them.
40:55I think he shows diversity.
40:57I think he's the male black version of me.
41:00I think Uli's going to have a very strong showing.
41:02I really like how daring she is with prints, with movement.
41:06I really think she understands a woman's body.
41:08Who do I see winning?
41:09I would have to guess Laura.
41:11I think she should be a great CEO.
41:13I think she could actually take a business and run it.
41:15I mean, she takes care of a big family, you know?
41:19Season one, I thought I should have won.
41:21But season two, I thought Daniel Franco.
41:24Season three, Daniel Franco.
41:26I believe Franco will win season three.
41:31So we won't have to wait too long to find out who will win Project Runway.
41:35I would like to thank all of you designers for coming today.
41:38I would like to thank Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, and of course, Tim Gunn.
41:42Thank you, Heidi.
41:43And I can't wait for next week, for the next episode.
41:45So, until then, happy to see you.
41:48Happy to see you.
41:48Happy to see you.
41:48Happy to see you.
41:54Next on Project Runway.
41:56You're going to be showing before the most influential crowd in the fashion industry.
42:01I mean, I've produced a whole line of kids.
42:03Why can't I produce a whole line of dresses?
42:05But maybe I'm the one who's going to end up on top.
42:08I'm about to win this show.
42:11Wow.
42:11Look at the size of this face.
42:14What's that?
42:15Turtle poop.
42:16Ew.
42:16I don't think I went in the turtle poop.
42:18How far along are you?
42:19I'm still in the early beginning stages.
42:23This is going to be an extremely busy week, and today is no exception.
42:31I'm still missing seven girls.
42:33I'm really sorry, but I don't think that they're going to show up.
42:36They all got really drunk last night.
42:38When I look at Jeffrey's rack, I found myself to be a little bit angry.
42:45How can it be that he doesn't have a single button left to sew on?
42:48That's true.
42:49You just don't pull craftsmanship like that out of your ass.
42:52It can be very difficult to prove something like this.
42:56Absolutely.
42:56Jeffrey, Laura has an announcement to me.
42:59It's not an announcement.
43:00I felt crushed.
43:01That's perfect.
43:02This is Brian Park.
43:04You're a crazy bitch.
43:06Who cares what you think?
43:07It makes me pissed.
43:08It makes me sad because I know what I've done in order to get to this level.
43:12The whole thing just blew up way too much.
43:16I'm not going to apologize for bringing it up.
43:19That's what I'm not going to do.
