09:02It's been a wonderful experience. I mean it's been a little rough for me
09:06As the shows have continued to air
09:09But i've had people write me and
09:11Some of them have been pretty upset with me because of the way that I acted on the show
09:16Why did you choose to be so strategic in your competition?
09:22Because I want to win. I mean, you know I came to win based on what?

09:30Did you rely on your
09:32Raw talent or did you rely on malicious trickery in order to get you to where you are now?
09:38First of all the judges were not
09:42Going to be responsive to any kind of
09:45Strategy on my part so obviously
09:48They saw a talent and as far as my fellow designers
09:53I treated them as if they were trying to eliminate me
09:57We knew that 11 of us had to go

10:04Yeah, I mean you basically said you would step over anyone to win
10:07I mean, I don't think that's

10:10We were all really nice to you because we felt sorry for you because you're such a terrible designer

10:18And then you just stepped on all of us
10:21I think the way that we play this game is the way we play in life
10:24If you're a cutthroat person if you're a liar if you're a stealer if you strategize on the show
10:28That's what you do in life
10:29And I worked really hard to get to where I am and do it in a way that I can respect myself
10:34And I can respect other people
10:36And you can really see the difference between Karasan and Wendy
10:39Well, here's the thing see I think maybe people misunderstand my objective by coming on the show
10:44I didn't come on the show to interact with my fellow designers
10:47I came on the show that is so typical so cliche of an answer
10:50I don't regret my approach
10:53I just assumed that we were all doing the best we could in this
10:58difficult environment to
11:01Get to the end because to me that's the point get yourself to the end now through our work

11:08It's not about getting to the end. It's about how you get to the end
11:11Our viewers have a great deal of interest in Wendy
11:15And via the bravotv.com website they've written some questions that I'd like to present
11:22Wendy when you watched the show were you surprised by how nasty you came across
11:27When I look at the show I'm a little bit uncomfortable with how I come across
11:32But this was a unique set of circumstances it was a pressure cooker environment
11:37It brought out a lot of emotion with all of us designers and some of us for
11:41The purposes of defending ourselves and preserving our sanity had to engage in certain behaviors
11:48That allowed us to simply get through the day
11:52I mean, I just don't think people can understand how difficult it was
11:56Do you feel that you're happiest when designing and your flow and just
12:01Really feeling the art or did you feel happiest when you're winning?
12:05Ultimately, it's but you and your art ultimately
12:08I really appreciate this question because I think it goes to the fact that
12:12At least I own up to the fact that I have strategic motives
12:17And I think if you look around this group, you see a lot of people
12:21Who are not exactly honest about their methods?

18:57On the topic of the runway judging and things that one might regret wendy do you have any
19:03Feelings in retrospect about your interaction with austin on that very memorable runway judging
19:10wendy who on your team should be out
19:12I did feel that austin could have done a better job with leadership
19:19Or your interaction with kevin on the judging that eliminated kevin wendy can can you comment just a little bit about kevin as a leader
19:29Okay, I personally felt that kevin was not as active as a leader as he could have been
19:36I think the collection could have been better directed had he been more involved in getting us on the same path
19:43Well i'll take there there are two different situations the first one with austin
19:48Was you know really just a terribly difficult
19:53Circumstance now I decided that vanessa had really tried her hardest to realize austin's goal
20:03And so I could not in good conscience choose vanessa as the weaker member
20:08So I was left with no choice but to say austin as he was in charge how about kevin
20:16In terms of kevin i felt his leadership was lacking and I said it

23:39I remember the first time we were filming we um we all went to the steps of parsons

25:25the thing that was wonderful about it was it came at right the right time
25:28during the poster design challenge there was also something that happened to wendy
25:33that wasn't very nice someone drew on wendy's daughter's picture
25:39and we have a little clip that i want to show you
25:42we came back to parsons and you know we all went and sat at our tables which is what we usually do
25:46and i look down and i see this line drawn through my daughter's picture
25:50somebody drew on my picture of my daughter what and i want to say to you guys i apologize if you
26:00all are mad at me if i've done something wrong if you are mad at me for how i treated kevin
26:04if you're mad at me for how i treated you i want to say to you that i meant no harm but if you wanted
26:10to you know do psychological warfare on me you did a good job it's the absolute quintessential
26:19image of my daughter you know she's dressed up and she's looking up in the sky and she's just so
26:26happy and so beautiful you know it's the only way i have of her like that okay i don't have a copy

31:42airing crazy people recognizing you on the street differently than before yeah like on castings
31:48we've been recognized by other models or by the casting agent we have a question here what made
31:55certain models preferable over others did you develop a favorite model to work with and why
32:03for me it was really an essential component of the show this was the real i could have relationships with
32:10the models that weren't competitive in nature meant a lot to me i went on personality i really i you
32:26know julia is studying graphic design so we could relate to certain things i mean there was i i would
32:31never work with olga and she seems like a terrible person to me as far as being a model i mean she
32:36doesn't know her role as a model can you take this off of me please i know you guys had a lot of fun

35:41fabulous but you know you've got to be a little more professional martinique you wanted to say
35:46something with having to do with morgan bad publicity can be good publicity i don't know
35:52it happens for what to have a negative image of yourself well julia melissa jenny what do you think
36:00about what martin said she did a few crazy things that got her good publicity but it didn't do anything
36:05good for the designer in particular i mean she did some pretty big risks for them which could have
36:11you know ruined their perfect particular dreams like kevin for instance in the bathing suit that
36:16could have been really bad for him morgan said that she's going to a club i don't know if it's good
36:20to wear my outfit there what happened it ripped oops before i send away the three finalists i want
36:30to know from the designers if there are any open questions that you have for each other um vanessa
36:39i read an article oh yeah an interview with you that was scathing i just want to hear your opinion
36:46on why the hell you would ever leak that much information i don't know who else read it the part
36:55that i did read that when i decided to stop reading it was this one small piece that said that
37:02you know something about how we thought that there was going to be a different group of people and
37:06that out of all of them together yeah i chose these talent you know the talent was so low and they
37:12weren't professional and they just made clothes for their grandmothers for me personally that kind of
37:18that kind of hit me in a little bit like you know in what way in the way that like i did get chosen
37:23out of 1200 people to come on or however many people to come on this show even with you know
37:29two years experience i wasn't expecting to go to new york and sew things in a little room with other
37:37people i thought it was going to be different and i say that on the telephone to this girl it was very
37:42sour grape and very unprofessional and i just being a part of that you were you but it wasn't a
37:47professional interview it was with somebody on the telephone that was talking did you not know where
37:53it was going to get printed so they did it behind your back it wasn't it was with an ex-intern of
37:59mine i was answering questions on the in on the telephone and i didn't say anything anything about
38:07me but you information about you kind of grouped us together and and said very negative things about
38:13the show and for for me i mean i took this whole thing very seriously it feels very close to my heart
38:18now and for you to it just for you to diss it like that so much i mean you're obviously having a
38:23problem with this show because you're like gonna show your collection on friday and i'm not but i
38:29was talking on the telephone about things that were important i don't even know if they were important i
38:34was just talking and what were you thinking you can't tell an interviewer that you thought the
38:38production that you're on that you want to gain so much out of it to put down a show that has given me

42:14something that's very consistent though i mean he may come across as very wildness personality but
42:19each challenge his work is beautiful amazing and consistently jay just like carousan i think
42:25it's a 50 50 toss-up regardless of who wins we're going to have a loss because
42:29either one of them should go forward with this i'm not sure what i think jay like myself is just a
42:34little maybe too in his own thing kind of too outrageous i think you and carousan are similar in
42:42that you're more of a costume carousan costume no jay is more i think he's more as a capsule it's called
