00:05I could stop!
00:07Bitch is gonna get stabbed
00:09I'm out of here. I'm just ready to go
00:11When you put people in teams, you're bound to have people whose heads are gonna bust
00:14Go get tweezers!
00:15Go away!
00:16They're leaving the room
00:17It's just so stuck
00:19Yeah!
00:20Bring it on!
00:21Nine of you are left
00:22One designer will be cut every week
00:24Until three remain
00:26Those three will show their line at Olympus Fashion Week
00:29Then one winner will be chosen
00:31The winner will receive a spread in Elle Magazine
00:33A mentorship with Banana Republic Design Team
00:36And $100,000 to start their own line
00:47Kevin, you are the winner
00:48And you have a guaranteed in for next round's challenge
00:51Tell the judges who on your team should be out
00:54Austin could have done a better job with leadership
00:57It was really just crying, crying, crying, crying and complaining
01:02I would say no harm for that
01:03Vanessa, as inspiring and talented as she is
01:06Just isn't as adept in sewing as Wendy and I
01:09Vanessa, you're out
01:11You're out
01:18This is a search for the next big fashion designer
01:22It's a cutthroat business
01:23The competition was fierce
01:26Twelve contestants, three finalists, and one winner
01:30Three designers will make their runway debut at Olympus Fashion Week
01:33I plan to make it to Fashion Week
01:35I think I'll be number one
01:36And the winner of Project Runway will receive everything they need
01:39To start their own label
01:40I think I deserve to win
01:42People are gonna start getting pretty bitchy
01:44Oh my
01:45For these twelve contestants, Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime
01:49The whole runway inquisition was a bit intense
02:06I felt like I was stabbed in the back when Wendy named me
02:10I really did
02:12Because it was complete bullshit
02:15My relationship with Austin appears to have suffered
02:19He has adopted this wounded thing
02:22It doesn't sit well with me
02:24I don't like that
02:26Yesterday was pretty intense
02:29I did get sad
02:30I did get emotional
02:31But I do feel like I should be here because I worked my ass off
02:36It was weird with Vanessa leaving, but I'm still here
02:39And I'm getting competitive now
02:41And I think I would ever be
02:43I don't want to win this motherfucker
02:56Hello
02:57Hi
02:58Four of you are gone
03:00And eight of you are left
03:01And just to keep things a little interesting around here
03:04I let you choose your model first
03:06And then I give you a challenge second
03:08Let's bring out the models
03:10There are eight designers but nine models on the runway
03:27At the end there will be one model left
03:29And that model will be out
03:31Kevin you won the last challenge so you will be first to choose
03:35Okay
03:36It's gonna be Olga
03:38Next one is Karasan
03:39Jenny
03:41Martinique
03:43Morganza
03:45Austin
03:46Juliet
03:48Joy
03:49Erin
03:50So Nara, you choose which model would stay
04:00And which model will be out
04:02It's between Audrey and Melissa
04:06I'm going to choose
04:07I'm going to choose
04:08Melissa
04:09I'm going to choose
04:10Melissa
04:11Thank you
04:12Sorry, that means you're out
04:13Auf Wiedersehen
04:27Sorry, that means you're out.
04:30Auf Wiedersehen.
04:35Everything happens for a reason, but I have to go back home and, you know, I'm still a senior in high school, so I still got a little bit of stuff to do.
04:43You know, before I can really go out and, you know, fulfill this career.
04:49You've chosen your model.
04:51Well, take a good look at her because she's your new client.
05:03I'll give you a hint.
05:05Damn, damn, da-da.
05:07Damn, damn, da-da.
05:09This challenge is all about the designer-client relationship.
05:14You need to work with your model to create the wedding dress of her dreams.
05:18Whether it's a classic white or a red mini dress.
05:23I was really glad that I had picked Jenny.
05:25She's not high strung.
05:26She's not a lot of drama.
05:28She's just, she's perfect for, you know, the wedding dress.
05:32She's perfect.
05:32I hope you've been good to them, because now they're in charge.
05:41Morganza, she's been difficult.
05:44Is this what a 9-to-5 job is like?
05:46Dramatic.
05:48Moody.
05:50And crazy.
05:52I just picked Morganza because she walks great.
05:57And if I knew the challenge, I might have picked a different model.
06:01You have one half hour to meet with them and two days to complete your mission.
06:06Good luck.
06:07And I see you on the runway.
06:13We have an exciting new challenge, this wedding dress.
06:16The one thing that I just want to assert is, I hope that each of you is confident about
06:22bringing your own design philosophy and sensibility into this challenge, and not completely abdicating
06:29creative thinking to the model.
06:31You want to win this.
06:33And if you're feeling really uneasy about what's going to be presented on the judging runway,
06:38don't do it.
06:39Because you don't want to end up with your design in the fashion cemetery over there.
06:43Oh, God.
06:50They're excited.
07:00Okay.
07:01Ow.
07:02This.
07:03The black Versace dress that Cameron Diaz were to the first Charlie's Angels thing.
07:07Okay?
07:08I don't remember it.
07:09Tight like this.
07:10Butt is coming down right here.
07:11She bangs into, like, the room and she's like...
07:17For this to be, like, a lycra, almost a little bit see-through sheer.
07:21I'm so excited about this.
07:24This is the best, whatever, what do you call it?
07:30Challenge.
07:31This is the best challenge so far.
07:32I'll just draw a bunch of sketches and you can pick out whatever you want.
07:35Yeah, do whatever.
07:36Like, I don't know the difference between the fabric, so...
07:37Okay.
07:38Whatever you use in all your clothes, because I like them all.
07:41I'm really happy I chose Aaron, because Aaron has let me do, like, whatever I want, basically.
07:46I can be, you know, on leather.
07:48You can make a lace out of leather, and, like, you know, put the pieces of leather on top.
07:51But I'm thinking, like, listen, this is my client, and I want to make her look beautiful.
08:04I want to make her feel beautiful on the most important day of her life, and it's my job to do that.
08:10Like, my favorite colors are, like, silver, gray, slash, like, leopard.
08:14Mm-hmm.
08:15Um, like, I want leopard for some reason.
08:16Yes.
08:17Okay.
08:19Take this material here, going over it with the roses under it.
08:23That would be pretty.
08:25Melissa kept on saying, this is the dress that I've been imagining since I was a little girl.
08:31And I go, wait a minute, aren't you 16?
08:35So you want flowers on the train?
08:37Oh, the roses.
08:38The roses.
08:38My middle name is Rose, and I have to have roses in my dress.
08:42The dress that she came to me with was, like, cheesy and very princessy.
08:47She doesn't know.
08:48She's not a designer.
08:49You're a good designer.
08:51Everybody else is trying to make a bottle dress.
08:55And it's all white, no?
08:56Yeah, it's all white.
08:57Yeah, because we have to put a lot of jewels and jewelry.
09:01Really?
09:02All over the sink.
09:04I got a little girl with the diamonds packed all over it, and it's kind of a little gaudy.
09:08She's Russian.
09:09Go, like, a car seat, right?
09:12Car seat?
09:13Yeah, like, yeah.
09:16Of course, yeah.
09:16That's her.
09:17She's a little too opinionated.
09:19I just have to make sure she's really satisfied and happy, like a regular customer would be.
09:24I have to work hard?
09:26Yes.
09:26Okay.
09:26Very hard, baby.
09:27So I'm going to make him work.
09:29I'm going to crack the whip.
09:32And we're going to do this.
09:33But I'm just concerned, in comparison, they're going to think mine's, like, a cop-out and simple because of other people.
09:38That we're making you do this.
09:39And if Morganza wanted me to make a see-through tank dress for the beach with flip-flops and dirty hair.
09:47So I'm like, oh, my God.
09:48I do not.
09:49I don't want to get eliminated right now because of Morganza.
09:53Bye, Morganza.
09:54Bye.
09:55Jay's going to be my bitch.
09:58Okay.
09:59I'm so excited about this.
10:01She's like, I want a sheer wedding dress.
10:05Because I know there's going to be princesses in this group of, like, veils and bodices and poof.
10:11And then here comes Morgan.
10:12Her nipples are showing in her wedding gown, you know?
10:15I don't know.
10:17I'm going to go out this week because Morgan's sabotaging me.
10:21Olga wants his diamonds only.
10:24You're serious.
10:24Poor thing.
10:26They're not designers.
10:27They're models.
10:27The consensus with all of us is that these girls are just, like, clueless, kind of.
10:32And they just want to look like a Disney character for this challenge.
10:36Was she difficult, Olga?
10:37You cool?
10:38Baby, I know what I want.
10:40Baby, oh, God.
10:41Because you've got a lot of work to do.
10:43You've got to work hard.
10:45Oh, my God.
10:46I'm making a wedding dress in two days.
10:48Usually people do take months.
10:54Coming up on Project Runway.
10:57Morgan.
10:57Morgan!
10:58I feel that Austin is off his game.
11:04I wouldn't consider her my friend anymore.
11:13All right, everyone.
11:14We're here at Mood.
11:14You're shopping for fabric for a wedding dress.
11:17We have $300 and 45 minutes.
11:20Go for it.
11:21Make it work.
11:21Make it work.
11:21Make it work.
11:21Make it work.
11:21Make it work.
11:22Make it work.
11:22Make it work.
11:23Make it work.
11:23Make it work.
11:24Make it work.
11:29She wanted a leopard print, and I thought this was really awesome.
11:32And since it was the teal, I thought it would be really beautiful.
11:36It was $50 a yard, though, but I think it's worth it because it was just so fabulous.
11:42It's funny.
11:42I have a different tint on my glasses.
11:44So this looks like really, like, egg color.
11:46I actually did design my ex-wife with a wedding gown.
11:48So I kind of take it close to heart, and I understand how important it is for a woman.
11:53Here's the sequins that I picked.
11:55It's very pretty.
11:57You're going to need a lot of yardage.
11:58Do you know how much these are a piece?
12:00I need a lot of them.
12:01Melissa asked for roses in her hair.
12:04Wanted the roses in her hands.
12:06It's just tacky, and it's not me.
12:08Whatever I can buy, how many roses?
12:10With $135, I want bags of them.
12:13We need you to wrap it up.
12:14Just get in line to pay.
12:30This time, we have two days for this challenge.
12:34I just wish we could have a little more time with these challenges so we could actually finish these things properly.
12:42Morgan!
12:44Now listen.
12:52No, no, no, let me explain.
12:53It's not going to be like...
12:55No, no, no.
12:57It's not going to be like...
13:00Ah, believe me.
13:05Morgan, I told...
13:06Morgan.
13:11Morgan.
13:12Morgan!
13:13Let me talk.
13:15I found myself getting caught up in the emotional wrath of Morgan.
13:19And I thought she'd just be fun.
13:22But now I'm getting worried.
13:25And now, the biggest day of her life, I'm the one who has to make the fucking dress for it.
13:29I'm going to die.
13:31I'm going to die.
13:32I hate this.
13:34I hate this project.
13:36So now that I'm thinking, I kind of want to sabotage her.
13:41Now, if I was doing that, I'd be doing what Nora was making.
13:44I'd be like, Morgan, I covered your dress in roses.
13:49Hey, listen, okay?
13:52This is not my design, okay?
13:56This is Miss Pageant USA's dress.
13:58Oh!
13:59I want to be a big, poofy princess with diamonds and roses.
14:03She's got everything planned out to a tee.
14:07Let me tell you, she came in here last night and was like, boom, this is what I want it to look like.
14:11And I'm like, all right.
14:11They put on so many clothes in their job that they have to put on.
14:17Like, here's your garment, you're number 64, get on the runway.
14:21But in this case, it's like they really want it to be the way that they want it to be.
14:27So when you're trying to execute that for them and they're in more power, like, it's definitely stressful.
14:34This is the French.
14:37Ooh, I love it.
14:38Do you?
14:38Yeah.
14:38Okay, good.
14:40Whew!
14:40I saw it and I was like, it's fabulous.
14:43No, it is.
14:45I feel that Austin is a little bit off his game now.
14:50When you work with a client, you know, you have to tune your energies to your client.
14:55Austin has one frequency that he operates on.
14:58We'll see how that plays out in terms of their collaboration.
15:02I think it will suffer.
15:03The front neckline to sort of almost follow, like, the natural drape of how this chain one.
15:09Julia's sense of style is so very different than mine.
15:14You know, I'm sure all the judges are just expecting, you know, Austin Scarlett to come out with, like, the biggest, whitest, roughliest, most romantic, like, white wedding gown that ever was.
15:23But, uh, that's not what they were going to get.
15:25I bought this dye.
15:27This dye is called wine because, for a small amount of money, I was able to get hundreds
15:34of roses.
15:34White wine?
15:35Oh.
15:35Which are all going to get dyed.
15:37So everything that we do is going to be in the construction and the design of the gown.
15:41Basically, she just wants something very simple.
15:44Low cut in the front, low cut in the back.
15:46I do want to show that I can be very versatile.
15:49So I was glad that you chose that type of a wedding dress.
15:52Okay, cool.
15:53We don't need diamonds.
15:53We don't need pearls.
15:54Yeah.
15:55I just don't feel that you should jeopardize your standing here because, you know, any of
16:00the models want diamonds and flowers.
16:02Let them know that, you know, you're going to give them the perfect design that's going
16:06to make them look beautiful.
16:06More niche does have a very nice, beautiful figure, so we definitely both decided that
16:29it has to be very form-fitting on her.
16:31And then we're going to have a big, goofy, like, silver organza skirt that's going to be
16:35removable.
16:37I'm really happy about this challenge because I've designed a lot of wedding dresses and
16:42formal dresses, so I feel really comfortable.
16:45This color is just not what I thought it was going to be.
16:50Damn.
16:51The dye is, of course, the wrong color of red, but I'm just going to take everything with
16:57a grain of salt and just keep going no matter what happens.
17:00I learned my lesson last time.
17:01I came here to compete and not to be around with by somebody.
17:05I'm not going to freak out.
17:08They're still pretty, though, but they're not the color that they're supposed to be.
17:13I really thought that I came up with a good design for joy, and I expect that it will win.
17:24Wendy, her things have always been just, like, gimmicky, silly, not flattering.
17:30She just doesn't understand, you know, the basics of design, in addition to the fact of being
17:36completely out of tune with the world.
17:38We have been wanting just once to all go out all together.
17:51It's our once chance to, like, get dressed up and go out on the town and just really have fun.
17:58What are you wearing?
18:00I'm going to wear a studded thong tonight.
18:04I love to go out.
18:06I love to go dancing.
18:08I love to get all dressed up.
18:10And, you know, it's just, you know, it's one of my favorite things to do.
18:13We're here at the touching room.
18:16An apropoli named night spot.
18:18I am extremely sexually frustrated.
18:24Robio talks about sex 24 hours a day, and, like, he is so checking out Alexandra.
18:30With Alexandra, I mean, she's an attractive-looking little specimen.
18:35There's, like, this, uh, an innocent flirtation.
18:38It's this kind of fun that I have, you know, with her.
18:41This innocent, you know, innocent fun that we have.
18:46Cheers!
18:46Me and Robert are just friends, you know.
18:49I don't see him, like, in, like, a romantic kind of way.
18:52We're just, like, friends, you know.
18:54We all go outside, and then Rob starts doing pull-ups on the scaffold.
19:00First, I started laughing because I thought it was hilarious.
19:02I think that's maybe what fueled Rob, you know, that he was, like, next to her.
19:05And he's fueled by women, fueled by sex.
19:09I see him pulling his legs up, and, like, trying to get up there.
19:12So I kind of, like, looked away because I didn't think he was going to even get his legs up.
19:16And the next thing I hear is a big thump.
19:18Whoa!
19:19He's being tending.
19:21I think we're all really worried that, you know, he might be seriously hurt.
19:26Get a napkin.
19:27Water, napkin, ice.
19:29We're going to take care of it tonight.
19:30Get some rest, and then you'll be fine.
19:32Drink, you son of a bitch.
19:34Robby-o.
19:36Robby-o.
19:37You broke your head open because you were showing off, because you wanted to get off with Alexandra.
19:44Oh!
19:45It's so real!
19:47Oh, it's so true!
19:49If they shave my head, I am leaving the place.
19:53The only thing he's worried about is his hair.
19:56He doesn't care about the blood.
19:58He doesn't care if he has to get stitches.
20:00All he cares about is that they don't cut his hair.
20:03But we went to the emergency room, and so they put, like, two staples in the back of my head.
20:07I feel fine.
20:09I could have done that pole vault a little better, though.
20:11The landing kind of sucked.
20:12Coming up on Project Runway.
20:17Oh, hell no.
20:18Keep it under control, because I do not want to go home.
20:21Oh!
20:21You would think that they are really getting married.
20:24Stunning!
20:25I don't like the dress Austin is making.
20:27Can you take this off me?
20:29We have to stop.
20:42How's your design progressing?
20:49It might just be simple and pretty.
20:52It's very Calvin Klein.
20:53Very Calvin.
20:54But do you want these weird circles?
20:57They just look like eggs on the hips.
21:01J, listen to your own voice and tell her there's a reason why she's a model and you're the designer.
21:06And the one thing you don't want to utter on that runway during the judging is Morgan made me do it.
21:13Oh, hell no.
21:14No.
21:15I mean, she's already labeled as a kook.
21:18Yeah.
21:18So, anyway, you're in charge.
21:21Here are my roses.
21:24Do I see one of the roses?
21:25Mm-hmm.
21:27Yeah.
21:29You know.
21:31It's so frosty.
21:32I love it.
21:34Yeah, frosty's the right word.
21:36Yeah.
21:37So, that's it.
21:38You want to keep going.
21:42So, I have some things in my head of what I want to do and we're going to discuss.
21:46I want to put another layer of mashed potatoes.
21:47I just want it to be kind of just like...
21:49I like it more simple.
21:50I like it, you know, the side things.
21:52That's fine for me to go on out.
21:53But for a wedding guest, I think it's just too different.
21:55These cutouts that she wanted me to make ended up looking with, like, fried eggs, which is good because then I don't have to use them.
22:02I just need these people, these judges, to understand this.
22:04You know, and I'll be like, why does she have eggs on her hips?
22:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:07No, no, no.
22:08I'm good you didn't put them on.
22:09I have to just put my faith in her for the next 20 hours to keep it under control because I do not want to go home.
22:16You f***ing weirdo.
22:24She comes in and she brings her boyfriend and then everybody's like, who is this guy, you know?
22:29You said, like, you want to put, like, diamonds, right?
22:33That's her big request, diamonds.
22:34Yeah.
22:35All over.
22:36Maybe fill up a little bit more.
22:38If you take the small ones and fill up the spaces, it's a little better.
22:43He's, like, walks in and, like, well, why don't you put this here?
22:46And he starts taking the diamonds off and rearranging them and stuff.
22:49And I'm like, wait, they don't know that I'm supposed to do it.
22:52They think that they're designing the dress.
22:54This is great, too.
22:55Hey.
22:56How are you?
22:57Nice to meet you.
22:58Yeah, me too.
22:58Hey.
22:59Is this your fiance?
23:00This is my boyfriend.
23:02Oh, you want to take up your dress?
23:03Why is everyone bringing a boyfriend to check in their dress?
23:06You would think that at least three or four of them are really getting married.
23:10They're bringing their boyfriends, their fiancés to look at the dress.
23:15Wow.
23:16Okay.
23:17Beautiful couple.
23:18Well, I'm so happy to be working with both of you.
23:25Babe.
23:26Can I look at the color?
23:29Oh, look at you, sweetie.
23:31And then the train's going to be really big, poofy, with all these different colors.
23:35Stunning.
23:36I don't particularly like the dress Austin is making.
23:39Now, who's responsible for that?
23:41How could I know?
23:42It's really pretty.
23:45He is such a talent.
23:47No, it was her complete design.
23:48A talent.
23:49It really looks old lady.
23:51You upset with the lace?
23:53No, I mean, I'm okay with the lace.
23:54Like, hopefully if it looks right.
23:55Do you want to look at the mirror?
23:56It kind of looks like an old lady to me.
23:58She doesn't understand the procedure from the idea that she has inside the actual garment.
24:03I think, like, in between there, she gets a little upset.
24:08No, I mean, obviously.
24:09That's an expensive place, wasn't it, Rob?
24:10Yeah.
24:11Yeah, it was.
24:12Yeah, it was really expensive.
24:1450 bucks a yard.
24:15All you have to do is tell the fabric is expensive and automatically, like, trick of the trade.
24:25All right, I think we got it.
24:26Yeah, so you'll be nice and tight, beauty corset.
24:28Nice, sexy.
24:29It's like almost right now.
24:30You can work it.
24:31Come on.
24:32This is the color issue.
24:34It was fade.
24:34Multi-tonal.
24:35It was fade.
24:36I love it.
24:37Flowers make them out more of a purple color.
24:39I'm actually happier with it now because I think that red rose is a really literal.
24:43But this is looking really good.
24:57I'm really going crazy, you guys.
24:59I don't understand.
25:00I'm worried about finishing the desk, period.
25:01Period.
25:13God only knows what's going to happen if it's elimination.
25:24Someone's going to get left at the aisle on their wedding day.
25:29I mean, there's always a possibility that I'm out, but my dress is well put together, and
25:35it's, you know, as close to what Melissa wanted as possible with a couple of minor adjustments.
25:42My whole thing since I've been here is I take each challenge at a time, but the only thing
25:47that's in the back of my head is, is that runway show.
25:54Today you have until 4.30 to work and to get ready before we have our runway judging,
25:59and you all have a lot to do.
26:00Your models need to go to the L'Oreal hair and makeup rooms to get prepped for the show.
26:04I'm trucking along as fast as I can.
26:18I mean, this train is just basically like puffing some fillings out, so it's not like
26:24it has to be this, like, perfectly pattern-made thing.
26:27With me, it usually all comes together at, like, the last minute.
26:32Oh, so beautiful.
26:34I can't believe I'm looking at my, like, future wedding dress.
26:38Ah.
26:41This is so beautiful.
26:43Don't cry.
26:44It's so pretty.
26:47Oh.
26:48It feels great.
26:50It does.
26:50Yeah.
26:52Wow.
26:55I have to take it up.
26:57No.
26:58I like it.
26:59No, I have to take it up a little bit.
27:00I don't want to see my shoes.
27:04The wedding dress and Olga were kind of, like, worrisome.
27:08I'm not really sure if she was happy with it.
27:10It's going to fit.
27:12Kevin, maybe do something about the itchy part.
27:15Yeah, that's nasty, okay?
27:17It was just itchy inside, because I didn't put a lining in it, and most girls could handle
27:23it.
27:24You guys have a lot of work to do.
27:25Yeah.
27:26And, again, about an hour and ten minutes.
27:36That's a huge thing.
27:38Yeah, I don't want the left or the right one to fall out.
27:40Everybody, you have ten minutes.
27:56Good night.
27:57It's time to go.
27:58Okay, we're putting it backstage.
27:59But, you know, I've really stretched all of my body, you know?
28:11I want to go do that for my wedding day.
28:19Can you take this off of me?
28:25Oh, my God.
28:27I can't breathe.
28:28Can you take this off of me, please?
28:32The time has come.
28:33We have to stop.
28:36Okay?
28:36I'm really serious.
28:38It's done.
28:39Yeah, really, it's done.
28:41It's done, done, done.
28:43Coming up on Project Runway.
28:49I'm not getting you at all.
28:52I think if she went shopping, she could probably find this dress.
28:56And at the end of tonight, one of you will be out.
28:58Welcome back to the runway.
29:03So, eight of you are left.
29:05And at the end of tonight, one of you will be out.
29:11The winner of this challenge will have a guaranteed in.
29:14Which means you're immune for the next challenge and cannot be eliminated.
29:18This week's challenge was about the designer-client relationship.
29:22You need it to keep your client happy?
29:25Why maintaining your own design philosophies?
29:28And you will be judged on that.
29:30Now, let's meet the judges.
29:34Men who we all love.
29:36Michael Kors.
29:38Hey, everyone.
29:38This week from Elle magazine, we have fashion news director Anne Slohi.
29:43And we also have Amsalah, a highly sought-after wedding dress designer.
29:51Our judges will be scoring your designs as they come down the runway.
29:55Okay.
29:56Let's start the show.
30:08The model who was my client was very inspiring to me.
30:12And I really felt that I came up with a good design for her.
30:17And I executed it well.
30:31I look at the dress and I do get a little bit worried.
30:34There's definitely more of her than me in the dress.
30:40And I was like, damn.
30:43You know, I really created this thing more for her than I did for myself.
30:53When my wedding dress went down the runway, she looked beautiful.
30:59You could tell by her face she was happy with it.
31:01We worked together very well.
31:04I'm not really sure if she was happy with it.
31:20She wanted more diamonds.
31:21And I kind of held back on those.
31:24I wanted to keep it a little more minimal.
31:27I don't know.
31:27It's my job to make her look her best.
31:34I felt really good about the dress.
31:39I thought Jenny looked beautiful in it.
31:42When she said she wanted something very simplistic, the first thing I thought is, you know, like a little society girl.
31:47When Julia came out in this wedding gown, I knew that they would be like, what the hell is that?
32:06Because it's nothing like a wedding gown in the traditional sense that it's certainly not a typical thing that I would have designed.
32:13I love designing wedding dresses.
32:27I don't know.
32:27There's something about it.
32:29There's a lot more meaning in a wedding dress than just an everyday dress.
32:32It's hard to work with her.
32:49She's just high maintenance and high drama.
32:52Started off with her idea, but I kind of took it in my own direction.
32:56I want to ask all the designers to please come onto the runway.
33:21Designers, we've tallied your scores.
33:24When I read your name, please step forward.
33:26When I read your name, please step forward.
33:29Wendy.
33:35Robert.
33:38Alexandra.
33:40Kevin, you have a guaranteed in because you won last week's challenge.
33:48The four of you, none of you have won, but also none of you are out.
33:53Your work has qualified you to stay in for the next round.
33:58You can leave the runway.
33:59I was a little disappointed that I was safe.
34:02Of course I thought I had the best dress.
34:08The four of you remain represent the best and the worst.
34:11I'm going to ask you to bring out your model again, and you can justify to the judges your design.
34:26Designers, you're being judged today on your design, but also you're being judged on if the model really got what she wanted.
34:32The wedding dress of her dreams.
34:35Jenny, do you like your dress?
34:36I'm, like, the least emotional person, and I literally thought I was going to cry, like, when I saw it.
34:41It's, like, what I wanted, and then, like, 50 times more.
34:44How about you, Lauren?
34:46I wanted something comfortable, sporty, classy.
34:48She did exactly what I wanted.
34:50Melissa.
34:51This is exactly what I wanted.
34:53It was so close to what I dreamed of as a little girl.
34:56Julia, is this the dress you've always wanted?
35:00Yeah, I mean, I wanted to go for something, um, a little unusual.
35:03I didn't want to go for the classic white wedding dress.
35:07Um, I just feel like that doesn't express me.
35:09So we really have four happy brides?
35:16So, Michael.
35:17I've got to tell you, the dress fits her really gorgeously, and I think that, you know, fit fabric all together, it's, it's, it's just terrific.
35:30Thank you, Michael.
35:30That is a huge compliment.
35:32Thank you so much.
35:38Jay, what do you like and what do you not like about your design?
35:41I, of course, love the bottom.
35:44It's very me.
35:45I try to really collaborate with her on this.
35:48She wanted Helmut Lang, and this is kind of my...
35:51Slash.
35:52Okay, Calvin Klein.
35:54My only concern is that she can't move in the dress.
35:58That is my only concern.
36:00No.
36:01There's not enough, there's not enough leg room.
36:03Yeah, that's sweet.
36:04It's a very tough, tough design issue, because standing still, you've got a beautiful column.
36:09I'm not doing a runway walk down my aisle.
36:11You weren't doing runway here, you were just walking.
36:14You weren't, you weren't able to.
36:15Bad model, bad model.
36:16No, no, no, no.
36:19Austin.
36:20Yes.
36:20What would you have done differently?
36:22Probably not too much differently.
36:26She had sort of a slightly more dramatic, sort of straight back neckline that I thought would
36:33be a little more flattering if it was sort of this asymmetrical V thing that we have going
36:37on.
36:38It's interesting, but I'm having a hard time imagining it, where she's wearing it.
36:44It's very different, but to the point it's too different, where do you wear this?
36:50It really is your job as a professional to be responsible in the end for your own vision.
36:59Nora, what was her brief when you spoke?
37:02She came to me and said, I want something very classic and traditional, and I think it was
37:09pretty successful.
37:11My reaction looking at the dress is, it's so traditional bridal.
37:16I think if she went shopping, she could probably find this dress.
37:20I'm not getting you at all.
37:22The challenge was, give them exactly what they want.
37:25I think in this instance, you tip the scale too much to the client, and I think you've
37:33always got to hold on to you, plus make the client happy.
37:36It should be both.
37:38Designers, models, thank you.
37:40You can leave the runway, and we will call you back shortly.
37:50I think first, let's talk about Jay's dress.
37:52It was very youthful and very sensual, and there was a little bit of an intellectuality
37:57to it, but it didn't overwhelm the simplicity.
38:01And again, you know, she looked radiant and comfortable.
38:04And also, what I really noticed on him, although she was very specific of what she wants, she
38:09wants to call the client, and he tried to give her, but he didn't compromise.
38:13I think he learned one thing that we all know as designers and editors, you know, the same
38:19thing, when you watch a show, if something doesn't move great, it can kill the dress.
38:22I usually walk really good.
38:24I'm sorry.
38:25You do?
38:26That's why I picked you, but not anymore.
38:30Kara Song.
38:30Kara Song, yeah.
38:31It was gorgeous.
38:32And you could see her model, her face just lit up.
38:36And isn't that what a wedding dress is supposed to do?
38:38Plus, it looked like something that I know Kara really loved herself.
38:43You know, it wasn't that she was trying to turn into another designer just to please the
38:46customer.
38:47I think that's, and that's, that was a big part of this challenge.
38:54Let's talk about Nora's dress.
38:56I did not care for it at all.
38:58And I have to say the model, you know, she's very young, and that's what a young girl dreams
39:03of, of the big poofy giraffe.
39:04There are ways to interpret the idea of a traditional romantic bride in a much more interesting way than
39:11that. And I, I really think that she really just turned into a dressmaker in this situation.
39:17As a designer, bottom line, you have to have the maturity and focus to figure out how to
39:22communicate and convey your vision so that the client understands that you really do have their
39:27best interests at heart.
39:32How about Austin's dress?
39:33It's disappointing. I mean, to see talented people get steamrollered by the client.
39:38But if you're going to get steamrolled by a young girl, and I understand like a non-traditional
39:44wedding, but I don't care if you're getting married in Williamsburg in a, in a loft.
39:49You're not wearing that.
39:50They don't like the design. They judge you on your design.
39:53No, they like the design.
39:55I thought it was too weird.
39:57Okay. I think we made up our mind.
40:00Let's bring out the designers.
40:18We've seen the runway show.
40:20We've heard what you and your models had to say.
40:23And we made our decision.
40:34We've seen the runway show.
40:36We've heard what you and your models had to say.
40:38And we made our decision.
40:45Carason.
40:49You're the winner of the wedding dress challenge.
40:52You have a guaranteed in, which means you're immune for the next challenge and cannot be eliminated.
40:57You can leave the runway. Thank you.
40:58Thank you so much.
41:02I was excited to get the win.
41:03I really was because I love the dress.
41:05And my focus right now is just get to the final three.
41:12Good job.
41:17Jay.
41:20You're still in.
41:21Please leave the runway.
41:28Austin and Nora, one of you is in and one of you is out.
41:47Nora, while your client was happy with her dress,
41:52you compromised too much on your own design philosophies.
41:55And Austin, your model liked her dress as well, but it looks nothing like a wedding gown.
42:14Austin.
42:16You're in Austin.
42:19You may leave the runway.
42:25That means, Nora, you're out.
42:30We felt like we couldn't find Nora in your wedding dress at all.
42:35And you cannot forget Nora when you design.
42:39Thank you very much.
42:41You're out.
42:42I think my downfall was just the fact that that dress is just not me.
42:55And it's kind of a shame to me because I'm like embarrassed that like I have to leave this show
43:01with that being my last piece.
43:04Hey.
