00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03For this challenge, each team must create a collection
00:06that incorporates three outdated trends.
00:09I was like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna die.
00:11Such merciful crap.
00:14Chris keeps on telling me,
00:16girl, this jacket's gonna be hot.
00:19Okay.
00:20Sometimes it's better not to fight about it
00:22and to go with it.
00:23You know, I don't believe that.
00:24Runway is the only way and that's it.
00:30Congratulations, Jillian.
00:33You are the winner of this challenge.
00:36This odd relationship that you guys had shows.
00:39I don't really feel it's cohesive.
00:42Chris, you're out.
00:49The winner of Project Runway will receive a spread in Elle magazine,
00:53an opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com,
00:56an all-new 2008 Saturn Astra,
00:59and $100,000 to start their own line.
01:01Furnished by Tresemme Professional Hair Care.
01:04This is Project Runway.
01:06Let's go.
01:07Hell yes, I'm the best.
01:08You're either in or you're out.
01:10I'm in, they're out.
01:12I would be caught dead in his clothes.
01:14Fashion's my life.
01:15Who will be the next big fashion designer?
01:17That's me.
01:18Bottom line, I'm the best.
01:20I will own the runway.
01:22For these 15 designers,
01:23Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:29I totally love Chris.
01:38It's just gonna be like a void in the room there.
01:42Chris's energy was joyous and delightful.
01:45It just really sucks that he's not here.
01:48I'm just gonna work like this all day.
01:53I wonder if I can sew with one hand.
01:55A couple days ago I had what I thought was like a pimple
01:58in the inside of my nose,
02:00and it's getting progressively worse.
02:02I have had skin sap infections twice before.
02:05Hopefully that's not what it is,
02:07but I'm kind of concerned.
02:09I got my collagen.
02:11I'm tired.
02:12Get over it.
02:13Let's go.
02:17Goodbye, parent.
02:30Hello.
02:31Hi.
02:32Okay, before we talk about your next challenge,
02:34let's bring out your models.
02:36Wait, what's going on?
02:41What?
02:42I'm a little confused.
02:43Where?
02:44It looked like a crazy fairy princess
02:46or transvestites or something,
02:48because I was like, what is this?
02:56Out comes a bunch of ladies
02:58wearing really tremendous clothing
03:00that's just hanging on them.
03:02Oh, my God.
03:04Oh, my God.
03:05And I was thinking,
03:06oh, maybe these are people's sisters
03:08or mothers or something like that,
03:10and then realized, wait,
03:12I don't know any of these women.
03:14Designers, as you can see,
03:16you have new models for this challenge.
03:18And I'm sure that you've noticed
03:20that their clothes don't fit.
03:23And that's because each of these women
03:25have recently lost a significant amount of weight.
03:31The clothes that they're wearing
03:32were their favorite outfits
03:34before their transformation.
03:37Let's meet them.
03:38My name is Laura,
03:39and I've lost 136 pounds.
03:41Oh, my God.
03:42Hi.

04:02and I've lost 139 pounds.
04:04Hi.
04:05I'm Alicia,
04:06and I've lost 160 pounds.
04:07Hi.
04:08I'm Chris,
04:09and I've lost 100 pounds.
04:10All right.
04:11I think we have to have
04:12a big applause for all these women.
04:17Okay.
04:18Your challenge is to create
04:19a beautiful new look for these women
04:21using their favorite old clothes
04:23as the raw material for the outfit.
04:25I love it.
04:26Thank you, too.
04:28I was like,
04:29holy ,
04:30oh, my God, I'm gonna die,
04:31because this is so not me at all.
04:32Like, at all.
04:34Each of you will have one of these women
04:37as your client.
04:38I'm gonna go down the line,
04:40starting with Laura,
04:41to determine who is with who.
04:43I have my trusty bag right here.
04:46Who's gonna get the lady
04:47in the wedding dress?
04:48In everyone's head,
04:49that's what they were thinking.
04:50This whole look was really weird.
04:52Laura is with...
04:57Steve.
05:01Oh, dear God.
05:03I got picked for the wedding dress.
05:05It felt like death on a stick.
05:07Next, we have Sylvia.
05:09And Sylvia is with...
05:11Jack.
05:13Erica.
05:14Erica.
05:15With...
05:16Jillian.
05:17Tracy.
05:18Is with...
05:19Elisa.
05:20Next is Elise.
05:22With...
05:23Kevin.
05:24Next, we have Lisa.
05:26Paired with Rami.
05:28Next one is Penny.
05:30Ricky.
05:31Carrie.
05:32Carrie.
05:33She's gonna be with Christian.
05:35Next one is Ori.
05:37And she's gonna be with Victoria.
05:39Alicia.
05:40She's with Kit.
05:42And that means Chris...
05:45has Sweet Pea.
05:47Alright, you have your new models.
05:49Tim will meet you in the workroom
05:51to fill you in on some of the details.
05:53Have fun.
05:54And I'll see you on the runway.
05:56Bye.
05:57Bye.
05:58Bye.
06:09Designers, you have until midnight tonight.
06:13Okay?
06:15Did you all see this?
06:17Yeah, I did.
06:18Wow.
06:19Sweet.
06:20Wonderful, Chris.
06:21To all, I had this incredible dream
06:23that I went to a far away place.
06:24It was beautiful.
06:25All I kept saying is,
06:26I want to go home,
06:27and they sent me here.
06:28Keep going, Chris.
06:32We will miss Chris.
06:34Hugely.
06:35It gets harder.
06:36It gets harder.
06:37Yeah.
06:38Alright?
06:39I want to remind you
06:42that this look needs to be suitable
06:45for your clients' everyday life
06:48and express your point of view
06:50as a designer.
06:51You will have 30 minutes
06:53to meet with your new clients.
06:56Okay?
06:57I'm bringing them in.
06:58How are you?
07:02Good?
07:03I'm just, like, so excited.
07:04I feel like a little kid.
07:05Yay!
07:06I like it.
07:07I want you to feel like a little kid.
07:08Something to show off your figure.
07:09Uh-huh.
07:10Something to show off your waist.
07:11Something to show off your waist.
07:12Something to give me a length.
07:13Yeah.
07:14These women aren't the ideal model size.
07:18These are kind of normal women,
07:19and the rules are completely different.
07:23You've got a lot to work with.
07:24How's it feel putting this back on?
07:25Oh, my God.
07:26Scary.
07:27I was, like, game on.
07:28I love this.
07:29I love making clothes for real people.
07:30Maybe a little club?
07:31Yeah, you know what?
07:32I was going to say that.
07:33I want to take Tracy's outfit and make them something where she feels sexy and beautiful.
07:36This is what makes me excited about being part of fashion.
07:51Okay.
07:52No print.
07:53So we'll keep it black.
07:54I was given Carrie, and I said, what do you like?
07:58And she said, I don't like print.
07:59I don't like color.
08:00I would never wear a dress.
08:01I would never wear a skirt.
08:02I don't like to show my arms, and I wear black every day.
08:05And a pair of jeans.
08:07So I got very scared, and I was like, okay.
08:10Because she doesn't like anything.
08:12I think we'll be fine.
08:14I'll do it.
08:16Um, all right.
08:19Well, good deal.
08:22Wow.
08:23It's wild, the amount of stuff there is.
08:26So there's the zipper, all the buttons, and the buttons on the sleeves.
08:31Buttons on the sleeves.
08:32Right.
08:33You have to do something that can be worn every day, which is a considerable challenge when
08:40you have 10 yards of white polyester satin that's sequined, and beaded, and covered in
08:49acetate lace.
08:50I will need your well wishes.
08:51I will need your well wishes.
08:52I will need your well wishes.
08:53You might want to consider going back to church.
08:54No.
08:55Take that.
08:56Dear God, help me now.
08:57Bye, honey.
08:58Bye.
08:59See you tomorrow.
09:02Bye, guys.
09:03Designers, we will have 15 minutes to shop.
09:17You will have a budget of $10, or extra fabric, or anything else you may need.
09:22So let's go shopping, okay?
09:24You're off.
09:25Okay.
09:26Okay.
09:27This is probably fine, right?
09:28Oh, fine.
09:29There's a bunch of stuff there, too.
09:30Oh, fine.
09:31This one does.
09:32That one does.
09:33The shirt I was left with had a lot of seaming and darts.
09:34All right, I'll take a yard and a half.
09:35So I found the exact same colored fabric with which I was going to make a dress.
09:53Do I go that way, sir?
09:55I think you have the biggest challenge.
09:56Yes.
09:57I'm going to end up using the wedding dress fabric.
10:00I'm going to end up using the wedding dress fabric more as a trim.
10:05I ended up selecting a stretched black cotton fabric because the fabric from the wedding dress is so awful.
10:15So you're going black?
10:16I'm going black and white.
10:17I actually got the idea of doing a long dress that had a white collar to it in order to incorporate the wedding dress.
10:26All right.
10:27Time is up.
10:31Let's head back to Parsons, all right?
10:32Okay.
10:33Thank you, Mood.
10:37You're welcome.
10:48You're welcome.
10:49I have a clear vision of what I wanted to do with Sylvia.
10:51But at this point, my lip is really starting to be an issue.
10:54Are you hurting?
10:55I'm not hurting.
10:56I'm just...
10:57The treatment is really hardcore and I'm afraid I'll have to leave and to do it.
11:02Jack definitely looks a little swollen.
11:04It's kind of scary, you know?
11:06Hey, Dr. Bowman.
11:08So basically what's going on is I am almost, you know, I'm 95% sure I have a MRSA in my
11:15face again.
11:16For me, it is important for people to know that I've been HIV positive for 17 years, but
11:22my immune system is not suppressed at all.
11:24So it wasn't about that.
11:26Anyone can get what I got.
11:27It's a dangerous bacteria.
11:29Okay.
11:30Bye.
11:31Poor Jack.
11:34Poor Jack.
11:35I just know he's worried that he's going to have to leave.
11:37I know he's panicked because you know that that's not the way he normally is.
11:41I just spoke to my regular doctor and he said I need to be more aggressive for the treatment.
11:47So he wants me to come in immediately.
11:49Dude, nobody wants to leave so that sucks.
11:51That sucks.
11:52Plus he's doing good.
11:55I worked out hard to get here.
11:57I don't want to have to quit for a stupid reason.
12:13Hey everybody.
12:14How are you?
12:15Hey.
12:16But Jack, I just want to find out how you're feeling.
12:19Um, actually I think I need to talk to you.
12:21Okay.
12:22You want to go outside?
12:23Yeah.
12:24Okay.
12:25Oh dear.
12:28What is it?
12:29I don't get it.
12:30It's like an infection.
12:31He was working so hard and I think that this is not as important as like your health,
12:36you know?
12:40Designers, can I ask you to gather around please?
12:45Jack and I just had a discussion and I just want Jack to share it with you.
12:50Well, you all know I've had this infection in my face.
12:54I'm just concerned about getting better.
12:57I had so much fun.
12:58I certainly don't want to leave like this, but I just don't feel comfortable being here anymore.
13:07Jack's made the decision to leave.
13:09Yeah, I have to leave and go get medical treatment.
13:12We're gonna miss you.
13:13We're gonna miss you terribly.
13:15We're gonna miss you terribly.
13:16What?
13:17All right, guys.
13:18I'm gonna start.
13:23Well, I had the best time of my life.
13:25Literally.
13:26I'm amazing.
13:27Being here on Project Runway, it's the fruition of a goal of mine.
13:32It wasn't an easy road to get here.
13:34It was just really hard to know that I wouldn't be a part of this amazing experience anymore.
13:38It was so nice to meet all of you.
13:40Whatever.
13:41We're friends forever.
13:42Totally.
13:43For real.
13:44I think I'll take this experience and develop on what I've learned.
13:53I'm sure there's a lot more adventures in my future, and it's gonna be amazing.
14:02Coming up on Project Runway.
14:04I'm not a miracle worker, lady.
14:06I can't make you have an app.
14:08I have another surprise.
14:14What a nice guy.
14:19How sad.
14:20You know what, though?
14:21He really needs to take care of his home.
14:25After Jack left, it was really hard to handle those emotions and keep working.
14:40Jillian, look at her.
14:42Hey.
14:43Are you the same size as her?
14:45She's kind of my height.
14:46I want to see how this is going to look with heels.
14:49My girl had a really large pair of jeans and a t-shirt right off the bat.
14:54I want to make her some sort of tunic.
14:55I wanted to give her a new outlook on who she is because isn't that what clothing does to people?
15:01Designers, can I ask you to gather around, please?
15:16Your clients are here for a fitting.
15:18But before I bring them in, I have another surprise.
15:28Yay!
15:35Hi, Chris.
15:36Hi.
15:37Hi.
15:38Designers, we are terribly sorry to lose Jack, but we want to ensure that the competition is high, and accordingly, we're bringing back Chris March.
15:51Yay!
15:52Did you miss me?
15:54Yes!
15:56Chris, he's got this laugh that makes everybody smile.
15:59I'm so happy Chris came back today.
16:02He's just so much fun, and I totally love him.
16:05And Chris will be using Jack's client, Sylvia.
16:08And also because Chris is getting a very light start, we're giving him the option of staying here through the night.
16:14Okay?
16:15Just want you to know that.
16:16All right.
16:17I'm sending in your clients.
16:19Thank you, Tim.
16:20Thanks, Tim.
16:21That's crazy.
16:23Come on in.
16:25Hey, Frankie.
16:26How are you?
16:27I know it's so good to see you.
16:29Chris, how are you?
16:30Hi.
16:31Nice to meet you.
16:32I'm Sylvia.
16:33Hi, I'm Chris.
16:34All of a sudden, I was back in the work room and under a bigger pressure than ever.
16:38I just kind of had to hit the ground running.
16:40But I thought the challenge was actually quite interesting because I've been on every diet known to mankind.
16:47I have lost and gained so much weight.
16:49It's just, I think at one point I added it up and it's 1,500 pounds.
16:53There's plenty of fabric in here.
16:57We're going to get this to fit you perfectly.
16:58Yeah?
17:00It's so fun.
17:01I think it's so funny.
17:02I think it's fun.
17:03All right.
17:04Okay.
17:05Turn around.
17:06Let's do the back.
17:07These lines here, like, bring the eye really in.
17:09I had elastic slacks and a poly chiffon blouse.
17:14So I'm designing a dress that she could wear to go out with her friends dancing.
17:21They kind of, like, almost fit me.
17:24I knew I wanted to do a very fitted shirt.
17:26And I said, why don't we just take your denim in, you know, make it your size.
17:30She's like a 2-4 now.
17:31And crop them a little bit.
17:33Oh, it's so cute.
17:34What if we put a little pad in there?
17:37I'm not a miracle worker lady.
17:41I can't make you have an ass.
17:43We'll see what we've got going on here.
17:46Okay.
17:47Have you tried, um, making it a different color and just said now let's go black or you just
17:52do it directly?
17:53Black is what I do.
17:54Black is good.
17:55The fit is actually coming out really well.
17:58And there's a vague chance that I might actually be done on time.
18:02Do you like that?
18:03And, of course, this will be shorter.
18:05Yeah.
18:06Yeah.
18:07Yeah, I'm done.
18:08So, yeah.
18:09Okay, let me, let me unmute you.
18:10Yep.
18:11Designers, time's up.
18:12Thank you, everybody.
18:21What do you have to work with there?
18:24Oh, can I have it?
18:27What are you going to do?
18:28Wear it?
18:29Yeah.
18:30Steven had this giant white wedding dress and he didn't feel like he had any fabric to
18:34work with at all.
18:35But I knew I could do a lot of brilliant things with it.
18:37I love it.
18:38Oh, cute.
18:39You look so cute.
18:40I kind of feel like the corpse bride.
18:42I'm going to do it.
18:46How you doing, sweetie?
18:47I think I'm sewing too fast.
18:49Oh, you are?
18:50That would be a really good thing if I could sew really fast.
18:54Yes.
19:04Hi, everybody.
19:06I'm eager to see what you're doing.
19:08So, how fierce is it?
19:10It's pretty, it's pretty fierce, Tim.
19:13It's kind of a big deal.
19:16Well, this is very you.
19:17It's very me.
19:18You did it.
19:19Yeah.
19:20Okay, good work.
19:22It's very simple.
19:23A little overdress.
19:24It's very short.
19:25And the slip hangs out underneath it.
19:27Okay.
19:28It just sounds like we have an awful lot going on.
19:32You need to show your point of view as a designer in this.
19:36And that's coming through.
19:38But you also need to respond to your client.
19:41So, just make sure this look is right for her.
19:44And clean it up.
19:46Clean it up.
19:47All right.
19:48Thank you, Elisa.
19:49No problem.
19:50Elisa's dress, that one's a little wacky.
19:52It just didn't look like that lady's style.
19:55Steve.
19:57Hello.
19:58Does any of that come into this?
20:00Right.
20:01So, that's the satin is actually going to be used on the cuff and collar on here.
20:08So, that's it?
20:09I just don't do white polyester satin.
20:13I think you're very courageous to discard this so summarily.
20:19But you have to be really careful on the runway.
20:22If Nina starts giving me trouble, I swear.
20:25All right.
20:26Thank you, Steve.
20:27Thanks.
20:28So, tell me who your client is.
20:31My client is Sylvia.
20:33She's kind of sassy and fun.
20:35And so, I said, you know, I wonder if this would turn into kind of a cute sailor inspired thing.
20:40The colors, kind of nautical.
20:42Allusion to sailor.
20:43Right.
20:44But not literal.
20:45Right.
20:46Just avoid the costume trap.
20:48Yeah.
20:49Just avoid it.
20:50Yeah.
20:51I would just advise you to make as many decisions now.
20:56Right.
20:57While I have my brain.
20:58So that you can just execute them exactly.
20:59Yeah.
21:00I'm used to.
21:01Because I've made more bad decisions at 3 o'clock in the morning than I can list.
21:03Right.
21:08Can you give us names?
21:09We want names.
21:11I really am an old fart.
21:16I didn't even, my brain didn't even go there.
21:18Oh.
21:19Oh my God.
21:20Are you coming back at 4?
21:22I just may.
21:23After I've made my bad 3 o'clock decision.
21:25I'll see you later.
21:26I'm finished my outfit.
21:27What up?
21:28Still want to know if this is going to kill a 12 year old.
21:29I think he'll have to wait until he turns 12.
21:34Oh.
21:35Don't these bitches know that I'm way better than them?
22:00I'm sorry.
22:09Bye.
22:11Bye, Chris.
22:12So midnight came around, and I stayed behind.
22:16I did not want to get eliminated twice in a row.
22:21It's kind of like now or never, this is it.
22:23I've got to, like, get finished.
22:24Coming up on Project Runway.
22:30When I woke up, I thought, did I even make anything?
22:34Steve's in trouble.
22:35Where's, like...
22:36He's panicking.
22:37He's not going.
22:51Oh!
22:52Chris is exhausted.
22:56Poor man has gotten hardly any sleep at all.
23:01When I woke up a couple hours after I laid down,
23:05I kind of thought, did I even make anything?
23:08Did all this happen?
23:09But, you know, it did.
23:12Run, run.
23:13There's work to do.
23:14Run, run.
23:16I wrote the measurements on my hand, and I showered.
23:17My outfit was definitely done.
23:26I mean, that was not the question.
23:29It was whether or not it was any good.
23:32I can't work fast enough.
23:34Somehow or another, I always manage to pull through and have a complete garment.
23:40But it's seemingly an impossible task for me right at the moment.
23:45Good morning, everybody.
23:46Good morning.
23:46I am about to send in your models.
23:49You will have two hours to send them to the Tresemme Hair Salon and the L'Oreal Paris Makeup Room.
23:55Okay, I'm bringing them in.
24:00We're almost there, girl.
24:01You look tiny.
24:02You look like you have a really tiny waist.
24:04It's something that I would totally buy and wear.
24:08Yes!
24:10Lisa walks in, and we just basically put everything on her,
24:13and everyone's kind of looking at her like,
24:15oh, my God, you look amazing.
24:16So for the first time, I felt so confident that I actually could win a competition.
24:20Wow.
24:21You're not used to wearing tight pants, are you?
24:22Not this tight, no.
24:23Oh, I am.
24:25Jillian, did you even use her shirt?
24:27No.
24:28I just matched it exactly.
24:30What's the black from?
24:31From the pants.
24:32I think it was very evident that I didn't use the materials that I was given.
24:36The judges probably will pick on that,
24:39but I think that ultimately they would respect the fact that I have a great-looking dress on her.
24:45I like it.
24:45I think I'm happy with it.
24:47It's so perfect.
24:49Ha, ha, ha.
24:52I'm really confident.
24:54I think my outfit's one of the best.
24:56I really do.
24:56I think we'll do it.
25:00Is it there?
25:01Did I make it?
25:01Is it done?
25:02I have no idea.
25:03When I put the sash on, I was happy that it looked, you know, okay next to everything else.
25:09I was looking around the room, Chris's garment was pure costume, 100%.
25:14Steven's was god-awful hideous, Elisa's was god-awful hideous, but the judges might die over it, or they might die because of it.
25:23If I poke you, please, I'm so sorry.
25:26Tim was a little concerned about the outfit, but she liked it quite a bit.
25:31I want it to be like a second skin.
25:33I want the woman to feel so excited.
25:35And as long as she's happy, the ultimate judge has already been taken care of as far as I'm concerned.
25:39Hello, guys.
25:40Hello.
25:40It has, like, volume of sleeves, so it needs to be up.
25:46Just something very French.
25:53A little liner, like, here.
25:59Oh, my God.
26:01I love it.
26:02Give me some more.
26:03Come on.
26:04Yay.
26:04I dressed Penny.
26:05She looked amazing.
26:06She made me remember why I like to do what I do.
26:09And now I feel really good about myself.
26:11I agree.
26:15I want you to do well.
26:16I really do.
26:17I'm really wishing you well.
26:18Like, I'm sorry.
26:20I'm doing, I'm sorry.
26:21Goodbye.
26:22The color is already cut.
26:25Right.
26:26Yeah.
26:27All right.
26:28Cool.
26:29Steve's in trouble.
26:30Sweet, merciful crap.
26:32So I just decided to work with him and help him finish his garments.
26:36Uh, white.
26:37Where's white?
26:39He's panicking.
26:41No, I'm not going.
26:42No, don't worry.
26:43Panic is fun, especially when you're already panicked.
26:48We're about to do something really heinous, awful, totally unacceptable, and something that
26:52I would never really do in real life, which is glue.
26:55I have to break out glue for the first time in my entire sewing career.
27:01I am pretty sick to my stomach.
27:04Designers and models.
27:06This is it.
27:07Okay.
27:08We're going down to the runway.
27:10Oh, no.
27:11All right.
27:12Pins, tape.
27:13Pins.
27:14Steve.
27:15Yes, we're coming.
27:16We're coming.
27:17Yeah.
27:18Amazingly, I was able to finish my garment, so I scrambled to help Steven, and I could tell
27:22that he was really, really worried.
27:24We've got to go.
27:25Oh, Jesus Christ.
27:29Oh, my God.
27:30Yeah.
27:31All right.
27:32Oh.
27:32Coming up on Project Runway.
27:35To me, it just doesn't look like you.
27:38You left me speechless.
27:47Welcome to the runway.
27:48As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
27:54As you know, Jack had to leave the show for health reasons.
27:57So, to keep the level of competition high, we brought back Chris March.
28:03Welcome back, Chris.
28:05For this challenge, we asked you to create a new look for everyday women who have recently
28:10lost a significant amount of weight.
28:13You had to use their favorite outfit from before their weight loss as a raw material for
28:17your look.
28:19Let's meet the judges.
28:21First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
28:24Hey, guys.
28:25Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle magazine.
28:29Hi, everyone.
28:30Hi.
28:30And Patrick Robinson, head designer for The Gap.
28:34How you doing?
28:35Good.
28:37We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
28:40One of you will be named the winner.
28:42One of you will be out.
28:45Let's start the show.
28:50I have this drab, olive gray, polyester, which is pretty hideous.
28:55And I made a cute halter dress.
28:57And it looks really cool now.
29:05My model was so cute.
29:08She looked beautiful.
29:10I transformed this woman.
29:12And I thought she looked very elegant.
29:23When I see Penny walk down the runway, I feel great.
29:26Because I had a part in making her look like that.
29:31It's a moment she'll never forget.
29:33And it's just awesome.
29:34At least I had done something in that super crazy limited amount of time.
29:47I was happy that my outfit for Sylvia looked okay compared to everything else.
30:01Carrie actually is kind of a fierce walker.
30:04I think even though my whole look was commercial, I think up there, it had the most direction of who I am.
30:14I had a floor-length velvet tank dress.
30:19And I turned it into a cute cocktail dress.
30:24To show off all of the work that she's put into achieving this amazing figure that she has now.
30:37I'm so excited to see Tracy on the runway.
30:40She has a bit of a wild side that she would like to show.
30:43I like working with layers.
30:45And I like the layer that underneath this new body, she also has an increased sexuality.
30:58I think that the dress was modern because it was bright, it was short, and it was really girly.
31:03But I got nervous that it wasn't fashion-forward enough for the judges.
31:13I'm so excited to see who I am.
31:18When Lisa walks down the runway, everyone is like, whoa.
31:21She owned the runway, she owned the look.
31:24I had a canary yellow blazer, and I made her look like one of Charlie's angels.
31:29I'm not confident in the dress only because it feels like it all got slapped together
31:46with glue and a prayer. Lisa walked out and there was the whole side of her that I wasn't expecting
32:02to come out and I think she felt very confident in that outfit.
32:05We've scored your designs. If I call your name, please step forward.
32:19Steve. Christian. Chris. Kevin. Jillian. Elisa.
32:35If I did not call your name, congratulations. Your scores have qualified you to move on to
32:43the next challenge. You can leave the runway.
32:52The six remaining designers have the highest and the lowest scores. One of you will be named
32:59the winner and one of you will be out. Let's bring out your models.
33:05I would like to start with Kevin and Elise. And how do you like your outfit, Elise? I feel just
33:24incredible in it. I'd wear it right out of here if I could. When you walked out, you looked like you
33:29loved the outfit. She walked with a lot of confidence. I think it's a great makeover.
33:34Thank you. The only thing I have to question, we've got to like be careful with the legging.
33:40I know. I was thinking that. Everyone owns a pair. So you kind of ran out of steam from an ingenuity
33:47perspective, but it fits her really well. And I think the transformation, it's pretty great.
33:52Thank you very much. Elisa and Tracy. Will you tell us a little bit your point of view in this outfit?
34:00Tracy's a mom, so she has a very active day. So I was trying to think like a day trousseau for Tracy.
34:06How do you feel in it, Tracy? I feel wonderful in it. To me, it just doesn't look like you. I would have picked something more classic on you.
34:17You have to always be careful when you're making something for someone that you don't try to force some of your ideas onto them.
34:25I don't know about chopping someone up into so many different steps unless someone is 5'11". I mean, you want to really show off that transformation to its best, and I don't know if you have in that outfit.
34:40I agree with all of them here. It's all very you, but it's not very Tracy.
34:50I would like to continue with Jillian. This is not the red blouse that she was standing here with, right? This is what you bought with the $10?
34:57Yes. So the only thing that you've used is the black from the pants that she had on, right?
35:02Yes, that's the piping.
35:04This is a sexy dress that a man is going to look and say, wow, she looks great in that dress. And other women aren't thinking, you know, she's a hoochie mama.
35:14You captured the sexy part. I love the idea, the hint of a corset in there.
35:19It's really beautiful. I do wish that I would have seen something with the original shirt, but she does look very sexy and very tasteful.
35:31Steve?
35:32What is from her original dress?
35:34From the original dress are the pearls, the neckline, and the cuffs.
35:41You left me speechless.
35:44This looks to me from a wedding to a funeral. I don't know why I go so somber.
35:50You had amazing fabric that you could have worked with.
35:53It was white polyester that could...
35:57But you had beading. You had something interesting.
35:59You had to go purchase this fabric. Why black?
36:03I just think the black and the white, it looks like a French maid. Or we're going to a funeral.
36:08Or a French maid at a funeral.
36:10Christian and Carrie.
36:14I just think that when you came out, you just looked young and cool and looked like you were having fun.
36:18And it looks like he captured your personality. I think you did, you did very well.
36:24I think that it's you, but it's super commercial. It's great.
36:29Mm-hmm.
36:30She looks very comfortable. Do you like what you're wearing?
36:33I'm not taking it off.
36:35I love it.
36:37So Chris, you were up all night, right?
36:40Right. I worked all night long.
36:43Does it suit you?
36:44I wanted something sexy yet sophisticated. So I felt very, very good about it.
36:50My only thing is, did you take away from your beautiful top that you made by adding all the skirt with the red and the red in the back?
36:58The red is the fabric that I bought. I thought that it would have been a little bit too boring for her personality with no color at all.
37:06All she's missing to me is a cigarette and a beret and she's Paris 1957 and it's a little Shirley MacLaine when she played a hooker with a heart of gold.
37:15Okay, yeah.
37:16You know? I mean, I've got to be very honest.
37:19I agree.
37:20I think you have to think about these cliches because they're there for a reason, you know what I mean?
37:26Okay. We've heard what you had to say. We're going to have a little chat and then I'm going to call you back. You can meet the runway. Thank you.
37:32Who did you guys like? Kevin's model, Elise. She just walked out. She was loving herself. And isn't that what fashion's all about?
37:49Absolutely. And she really was sexy and she was loving it.
37:52I mean, it's not easy to keep her boosting top up and make someone feel confident and comfortable in it. She was definitely comfortable in it.
37:59I like Christian.
38:02Christian really used her garments and made fabulous new clothes out of them.
38:09His clothes look like Christian's clothes. He's very young and cool.
38:15What about Jillian?
38:16That dress was impeccable. Perfect.
38:19It's interesting. We all like Jillian and she didn't really use the fabrics.
38:23No, she just made a beautiful dress.
38:29Who didn't we like? Elisa's.
38:31Oh.
38:32She didn't make an outfit that looked like her client.
38:35No.
38:36It didn't. It looked like Elisa.
38:38It chopped the body, especially if you've lost all this weight. You want to show it off. You don't want to feel shorter or stumpier.
38:45Well, I think, I think Steve, it was just, he totally lost me.
38:54I was so expecting to see something so major come out with this white, all white.
38:58And how great would it be to have a wedding dress he could wear during the day?
39:01It's true. When you said French maid, completely.
39:04She needed a feather duster.
39:06And then, last but not least, we had Chris.
39:10The top was nice, but oof.
39:12We're at the costume party.
39:14She's got like this bow. She's got the red here. She's got the red codec.
39:17He forced a lot into it.
39:19That was so Paris Hooker 50s.
39:21So we made our decision. Let's bring them back out.
39:37One of you will be named the winner. And one of you will be out.
39:50One of you will be named the winner. And one of you will be out.
39:56Jillian, you're in. You can leave the runway.
40:09And now for the winner.
40:12Congratulations.
40:14You're the winner of this challenge.
40:15Thank you very much.
40:16You will have immunity. And that means that you cannot be eliminated in the next challenge.
40:26Thank you very much.
40:27You can leave the runway.
40:33Winning was great because I felt accomplished that I could be a more commercial designer.
40:38I finally want to win something.
40:44Kevin, good work. You're in. You can leave the runway.
40:57Chris, you're in. You can leave the runway.
41:12Steve, Elisa, one of you will be out.
41:17Elisa, your look was more about you than your client.
41:27There were way too many layers. It was just too much.
41:33Steve, you turned a joyful wedding dress into something that we feel a French maid would wear.
41:39It was boring and cliche.
41:50Steve, if you're out, Elisa, that means you're in.
41:55You can leave the runway.
41:58Of course, I wish things had turned out differently, but just because the judges don't like it doesn't make it awful.
42:21Steve, we're going to miss you terribly, and we need you to go upstairs and clean up your space.
42:30It has been a pleasure.
42:31Farewell.
42:33I don't know if I'm going to go and become some sort of Greta Garbo-esque recluse or something to that effect.
42:41I don't know. We'll just have to see where this crazy ride of life takes me.
42:46Next on Project Runway, Tim will be waking you up and taking you on a little field trip.
42:55Designers, this is our destination.
43:01It doesn't look finished.
43:03This is a skirt.
43:05What am I going to do now?
43:06I pick it up and everything falls off.
43:08It's just the most devastating feeling.
43:10You're done for the evening.
43:11Elisa, where's that sleeve going?
43:13Christian is so caught up in his own ego.
43:15It has no sense of joy to it.
43:18Who would wear that?
43:19It's not attractive.
43:20I was expecting more from you.
