00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03You will be working in teams of two
00:05to create a high-end signature look.
00:08I would choose JC.
00:10Ah.
00:11I'll build the pants.
00:13It's very difficult to work with JC.
00:16I want to see my f***ing dress.
00:17I'm just trying to rein in the crazy.
00:19Wow, that's the fabric?
00:21If you're not doing it right, get the hell out of my way.
00:23I think it's beautifully done.
00:25Mila, congratulations.
00:29You're the winner of this challenge.
00:32Ping, that means you're out.
00:36Anthony, you choose which model we'll be in.
00:39There, today is your day.
00:41Thank you, that means you're out.
00:44This is Project Runway.
00:46Yes!
00:47I am fashion, look at me.
00:48The search for the next big fashion designer.
00:51It's cut or be cut.
00:52Just make it work.
00:54Sixteen designers.
00:56Great clothes.
00:57Great style.
00:58I've got it all.
00:59Three finalists will make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
01:03We won't do anything to win.
01:04I will.
01:05But only one can be the winner.
01:08My weapon of choice.
01:10For these sixteen designers,
01:11Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime.
01:15The winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread
01:17in Marie Claire magazine.
01:19An opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com.
01:22A $50,000 technology suite to create, design and run their business from HP and Intel.
01:27And $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to launch their line.
01:35Look at that empty bed.
01:37I wasn't too surprised that Ping was sent home because she had been in the bottom three before.
01:43And at this point I'm sort of bonding with Janine.
01:46She's my last roommate left.
01:48It's hard to bond with people really though because we're all competing against each other.
01:52So as I move into the fourth challenge, I'm really, really excited to still be in this competition.
02:00I do really want my dream to come true.
02:02I want to make it a Bryan Park.
02:04And I think that I'm actually already showing the judges that I'm capable of designing amazing stuff.
02:09So are you nervous to make a comeback from the bottom of the barrel?
02:14It wasn't my fault we were in the bottom.
02:16I feel like I really just need to get everything from the last challenge out of my mind and really just approach this one fresh.
02:22I think I can hopefully just come out strong and get myself out of that bottom area.
02:26It's my dog so much.
02:29Me too.
02:30I feel like I'm a little buddy with Mila because we're similar in a lot of ways.
02:34She's kind of like the older version of me which is kind of funny.
02:37Like we wear a lot of the same colors and we kind of have similar personalities.
02:41But you know, of course, she's competition because we have similar styles.
02:46Ta-da!
02:47I don't know where you are. I don't know why you're taking so well.
02:50Ladies.
02:51My apartment.
02:56Hi.
02:57Mila, you won the last challenge and that is going to give you immunity.
03:08And you cannot be eliminated.
03:10Yay.
03:11For your next challenge, you will be designing a look for a Fashion Week Gala.
03:16Woo!
03:17And Tim is waiting for you to fill in on all the details.
03:22He will also introduce you to a group of very inspiring women.
03:27Good luck and I see you on the runway.
03:29Heidi, she's very vague but she says you will be working with very inspirational women.
03:35And that just, that leaves it open for anything.
03:39Good morning, designers.
03:41Good morning, Tim.
03:42I am delighted to introduce you to Lisa Walker, Vice President of Innovation for Campbell's Soup Company.
03:49Campbell's is proud to team up with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement to create signature Campbell red dresses for our Campbell's Address Your Heart program.
03:58These dresses have been worn by top celebrities at the Red Dress Awards during Fashion Week.
04:02And this gala is designed to honor women who have been personally impacted by this disease.
04:06So designers, with that in mind, your challenge is to create this year's signature dress for the Campbell's Address Your Heart program.
04:13And in keeping with tradition, red must be a prominent color in your dress and the Campbell branding must be present.
04:20All right.
04:21Lisa has very kindly provided us with Campbell branded fabric that you can use in your dress if you choose.
04:26Or you can create your own brand elements using supplemental fabric or a combination of both.
04:31And there is one more very exciting dimension to this challenge.
04:36You will be designing for a very inspiring group of women.
04:40Let's meet them.
04:41I want you to know that each of these amazing women has in some form or another been impacted by heart disease.
04:54And the winning design will be worn by one of these amazing ladies to the Red Dress Awards during New York Fashion Week.
05:01And the winning designer will accompany their muse to the event.
05:05I'm just so excited.
05:10It's already feeling very emotional.
05:12And if there was one challenge that I could win besides making it to the final three, this would be it.
05:18If we get to go to the gala event during Fashion Week, it would really mean the world to me.
05:22And the winning design will be put into limited production and sold on projectrunway.com to benefit the American Heart Association.
05:30Our models for this challenge have been randomly assigned to us.
05:36I'm a little nervous, but I'm actually excited to be able to work with a real woman.
05:41Designers, I'm going to send you into the workroom with your new models.
05:44You will have 30 minutes to have a discussion and to sketch your design idea.
05:49Then we are going shopping at Mood.
05:51Okay?
05:53Take it away!
05:57Our models are all women impacted by heart disease.
06:01These women have overcome so much and suffered so much that this challenge instantly becomes very personally important to all the designers.
06:08So what's your story?
06:09My heart stops.
06:10Apparently it stops whenever I get dehydrated, I get too hot, I stand for too long.
06:15At the top of my heart can communicate with the bottom.
06:19Okay.
06:20So the pacemaker basically is running the entire time.
06:23I have two kids.
06:24I'm married for 34 years.
06:26Julie, she's an amazing woman.
06:29I mean, we started talking about how she died for two minutes.
06:33I've never met anyone in my whole entire life who died and came back to life.
06:38To hear a story like that, it's just so inspiring.
06:44Oh my God.
06:46So you're going to make me pretty because I survived, right?
06:50You know what?
06:51I would like to design something classy or sassy.
06:53My biggest challenge is coming up with something that's going to flatter her body and still read,
06:58theme dress, gala, not something you can buy off the rack.
07:01I can do a really good detail where this fabric is pleated.
07:06That way you have the Campbell hair.
07:08I am really excited because she's really, really tiny.
07:11And I'm going to make her a fitted dress, which is what she wants.
07:14Love it.
07:15Love it.
07:16We could do something that's like a V neckline.
07:19You want a long dress?
07:20Okay.
07:21More of like a chiffon, like a silky flowing dress.
07:25You like, okay.
07:26Well, I'm just going to do a cutout of a star.
07:29Okay.
07:30I decide, with my model actually, that we're going to use the star icon because it is present
07:36on the Campbell's soup can.
07:38I kind of like the idea of maybe it being like right at your knee.
07:41Okay.
07:42I'm open.
07:43Okay.
07:44I'm open.
07:45Okay.
07:46I know that I have immunity, but it doesn't make me want to work any less.
07:49And, wow, if I can win another one, two in a row, why not?
07:53I want it to be youthful and I want it to be elegant, you know, at the same time.
07:57So, Caitlin really likes the idea of doing a cutout back and doing something sexy and fresh.
08:02So, it's going to have the structure that I'm usually doing, but it'll have a little bit
08:07more of an elegance to it.
08:08It will work.
08:09That's it.
08:10You are hilarious.
08:11She's been dealing with hypertension for so long.
08:15And just to know that I can make her feel special in this moment, that meant a lot to me because
08:21I had to move my mother with me to Georgia because she just got out of heart surgery.
08:27I mean, people don't know what you go through.
08:31Like, when my mom came out of heart surgery, I was like, oh, my God.
08:37I know what it's like to have someone who's gone through complications with their heart,
08:42and it is no thing to take for granted.
08:45Well, like I said, you use me as the model, but you use your mom as the inspiration.
08:50You're right.
08:51Okay, Tish, I don't like tears, so clean them up.
08:53We cannot be in here crying.
08:55I know.
08:56What can you do to that girl?
08:59Designers, it's time to say farewell to your models, only temporarily.
09:03It's going to be wonderful.
09:05I'm excited about this dress.
09:06I know you will.
09:07Thank you so much.
09:09We'll see you later.
09:10All right, designers, grab whatever you need.
09:13We're going to Mood.
09:18All right, designers, I have your $100 budget.
09:20Around Mood, you will find bins filled with red fabric that is within the brand color story.
09:26But you're not limited to these fabrics.
09:28All right, everybody, 30 minutes.
09:30Your time starts now.
09:31Jen and I are on the same page, and she loves her legs and her shoulders.
09:39So we're doing a really cute, flirty cocktail dress in a beautiful, fiery red.
09:45I mean, does this look cheap to you?
09:47This looks awfully Valentine's Day.
09:48I decided to go with a jacket, and it needs to be a nice fabric.
09:51I can't go with something cheap.
09:52No, I don't have enough money for that.
09:53I have to get my bonie.
09:58All right, designers, that's time.
10:02Time is up.
10:03Everyone needs to be in line.
10:04You're at 96.43.
10:05Awesome.
10:06Thank you, Mood.
10:07Hi, everybody.
10:08Hi, Tim.
10:09You have until midnight tonight.
10:23A little bit of time tomorrow, but very little.
10:26So this is a one-day challenge.
10:28These women are not 34, 25, 35.
10:32So to make a gala-worthy gown in 10 hours is daunting.
10:37Thank you, everyone.
10:38Make it work.
10:39I know you will.
10:41I'm self-taught as a fashion designer, but I just spent four years studying printmaking,
10:46and I'm tracing the Campbell's logo onto red chiffon.
10:51It's something that'll be different.
10:52It'll set me aside from everyone else.
10:54My model and I are really attracted to the shape of the heart, and we wanted to use that,
11:00but not in a very literal sense, so the dress wouldn't look to Valentine's Day,
11:04but in more of an abstract form on the dress to represent the cause.
11:09I am more stressed than usual.
11:11You know, she's going to be walking down a runway for the first time,
11:14and the last thing I want is for her to feel unattractive.
11:18So it's a lot of pressure.
11:20The models are size four, size six, you know, stuff we do every day.
11:24We don't even have to make a pattern.
11:25We can cut that blindfolded.
11:27This is honestly the largest challenge that I've ever faced as a designer.
11:36Coming up on Project Only.
11:37Oh, shoot!
11:39There's a bucket of water right here, and I just dipped my dress in it.
11:42Everyone is going to have to really pull something out of a bag,
11:46because we are all press for time.
11:48I want my money.
11:50Three facets of this challenge is that, A, we're designing for real women.
12:02B, red has to be our predominant color in our design.
12:06And C, we have to somehow incorporate Campbell's branding into our design.
12:10Three very difficult things to do.
12:12So we're not, like, totally disgusting, right?
12:15That's beautiful.
12:16I like the lines.
12:17Oh, shoot!
12:20The fabric is alive.
12:22It literally moves and has a line of its own.
12:25Every time I cut it or sew it, it's a different shape.
12:28I don't even know what the front or back is at this point.
12:30Guess there will be a seam there.
12:32These are going to be double and then understitch underneath the other side.
12:37When I met Julie, I said to myself, I need to make her look taller.
12:41So the design that I had in mind, there's a lot of vertical lines going on,
12:45so I'm hoping, you know, that it's going to work for her.
12:48How's it going?
12:49I'm good. How are you?
12:50Good.
12:51Can you hold that right there?
12:53Nadine comes in and, you know, I'm still working on the chiffon,
12:56but it's not even attached together to put on the dress yet.
12:59I hope that she's not too nervous or at least not as nervous as I am.
13:04It's looking good. Thank you.
13:06I'm excited because I think I'm satisfying one of my primary goals,
13:10which is to create an empowering experience for Stephanie.
13:13Oh, impressive.
13:15There you go. Slide your other arm over there.
13:18So Jen comes back far-fitting and I'm glad I didn't cut yet
13:22because there were parts that I needed to adjust
13:24and pieces I need to extend and tuck.
13:26Many people are just not accustomed to using anything besides model-sized women.
13:31And these women represent all different shapes and sizes.
13:35You're going to rock this dress.
13:38You're going to work it.
13:39We rock it.
13:41He is so talented.
13:42The dress is exactly what we said we were going to do this morning.
13:45Amazing.
13:46Your mommy will be proud.
13:48She will be proud.
13:49Yeah?
13:50Me, my twin brother, and my other brother grew up with having a single mother.
13:53So it's really, really rough.
13:54But my past has made me so passionate about what I want to do,
13:57which is fashion because it's taking me so far already.
14:00And I mean, there's so many more years to come.
14:02I'm happy here.
14:03I mean, all of this is making me happy.
14:05It's just a front.
14:06This is why we're here.
14:07Let's talk about it.
14:08Yeah.
14:09I mean, other than that, it's gorgeous.
14:11Sweet, sweet rose.
14:12I love rose.
14:13She started going into what I was thinking, and she started talking about Grecian, draping,
14:18and pintuck.
14:19And I've done a few of those, but it's really not known as my style.
14:24Oh, I love it so much.
14:26Okay.
14:27I really, really do.
14:28Bottom line is, I want to make Rose happy.
14:30She's been through a lot of .
14:31The doctor just said, hey, how long have you had a heart murmur?
14:33And I just looked at the doctor and said, excuse me?
14:38Designing for somebody specifically that I can meet and speak with is actually quite
14:44helpful because I can get inspired by Beth's personality.
14:48I really want to bring that out in what she's wearing.
14:51You know, I need to put Beth in this dress.
14:53It's amazing.
14:54Would you really, like, look at me and think I had open heart surgery?
14:56Seriously?
14:57No, no.
14:58For a lot of the women here today?
14:59It is so cute on you.
15:01It's amazing.
15:02A lot of these women that are still happy and smiling and can motivate us.
15:07It definitely put a spin on the competition for me.
15:10Because prior to this challenge, it was all about me, me, me, me, me, me.
15:16But after meeting the ladies, you realize that there are greater things in this world
15:21than just winning a challenge.
15:23Thank you, sweetie.
15:24I'm sweating.
15:25I'm so sorry.
15:26All right.
15:27Bye.
15:29There's a bucket of water right here and I just dip my dress in it.
15:43Of course my dress takes a dunk in a bucket of water.
15:47Can't do anything now?
15:49Of course.
15:50Of course.
15:51Because I'm Janine.
15:52But they have to make this work, so moving on, you know?
16:00Hello, Tim.
16:01How is everyone?
16:02We're good.
16:03You're doing well?
16:04Yes, sir.
16:05All right, well, I want to check in with you.
16:07Okay.
16:08And see for myself.
16:09Okay.
16:10Hey, Jesse.
16:11How's it going?
16:12Good.
16:13How's it going for you?
16:14I want to keep it real simple.
16:15She's got a real full figure, and I want to just try to slim her and heighten her.
16:19And then I'm going to do a jacket, and it's basically this shape, and it'll come down lower, and the sweetheart neckline will pop out from it.
16:27Without this jacket, I don't think you have very much in terms of fashion.
16:31Stop telling me that.
16:32But it's true.
16:33Hannah.
16:34Hi, Tim. How are you?
16:35I'm good. How are you?
16:36I'm challenged to break up sort of her body shape visually so that it complements her figure.
16:43And then this, I started going in this direction because I wanted to...
16:46What is that?
16:47I just traced with a pen the detailing, so I wanted to do something that was a little more subtle.
16:53Nice, actually.
16:56So, Mila, how are you doing?
16:57Hey there, Tim.
16:58I'm using red and ivory taffeta.
17:00Oh, I like this with the stars.
17:02The star wraps around the back, and I actually think it's going to be flattering.
17:06And you had a fitting.
17:08How did it go?
17:09Yes.
17:10She's a really tough fit.
17:11Well, frankly, I'm glad that we have an opportunity to work with real women for just this reason,
17:16because it's a good lesson.
17:17And there's a strategy, too, to, you know, with proportion and the shape.
17:21You're doing it.
17:22Jesus, so talk to me.
17:23Okay, so I have Trisha.
17:25Mm-hmm.
17:26She said she wanted something really fitted, and she wanted to show her cleavage.
17:30So I did a...
17:31You've done both.
17:32And then I incorporated the fabric, which I think I did pretty well because it doesn't look cheap.
17:36Mm-hmm.
17:37She absolutely loved it.
17:38It fits her really good.
17:39Oh, good, so you got her into it.
17:40Yeah.
17:41Hi, Maya.
17:42Hello.
17:43Talk to me.
17:44I wanted to embrace sort of the heart shape.
17:47I see it.
17:48Yeah, but I don't know if I'll have time, but I really wanted to make a cocktail purse
17:52with the Campbell's print.
17:54I'd do it.
17:55Yeah.
17:56So how's Amy?
17:57I'm still trying to get the foundation done.
17:59Okay.
18:00I'm really concerned about fit with this challenge just because I want her to feel really comfortable
18:04and like it's fitting her correctly.
18:06Mm-hmm.
18:07I wanted to leave her left side open.
18:08She has a scar here that, you know, she used to hide, and now she kind of is proud of going
18:13through what she's gone.
18:14Cool.
18:15So I kind of want to focus on...
18:16It's a badge of courage.
18:17...exposing that, absolutely.
18:18Yeah.
18:19Work away here.
18:20Okay.
18:21Okay, thank you, Amy.
18:22Thanks, Tim.
18:23Seth Aaron, when did you go Grecian on us?
18:24Two hours ago.
18:25What happened?
18:26I have Rose.
18:27She flipped out over it.
18:29I said I want to make her happy.
18:31I don't dislike this.
18:32I think it has a beautiful, graceful elegance.
18:35But if someone gave me a quiz and asked me which designer in this room this belonged
18:39to, you'd probably be the last one on the list.
18:41I could see that.
18:43It shouldn't compromise who you are as a designer because in the end, who you're really
18:48pleasing are the judges.
18:50Right.
18:51I'm not advancing the plot here.
18:52I'm going to let you get back to work.
18:54All right, designers.
18:57I'm going to leave you for the night and I fully expect when I walk in here tomorrow
19:01that everything will be done.
19:02Yeah.
19:03Okay, Tim.
19:04Okay.
19:05Thank you all.
19:06Tim gives me his critique and I thought for a second, I can't lose myself within the
19:18client and not represent myself on the runway.
19:21So, I grab that Grecian gown and I tear it off the mannequin and say, I got two and a half
19:28hours before, for the end of the day, I'm going to give it my all and make it happen.
19:34I want my mommy.
19:35I think Anna is going to have an issue with her garment.
19:40Just the overall construction and Jay's dress is really, I don't know what it is.
19:46It's a train wreck.
19:48I think everyone is going to have to really pull something out of a bag because we are
19:53all pressed for time.
19:54Nobody's done.
19:55I'm in bad shape.
19:56I have a lot of work to do still.
19:58Everybody's kind of in the same place.
20:00How do they expect us to make an evening gown in one day?
20:04People are kind of freaking out.
20:06You know how to freak yourself.
20:08Do you see me?
20:15Coming up on Project Runway.
20:16Go, go, go.
20:17Everyone's running.
20:18Everyone's grabbing irons.
20:19This is definitely a fashion emergency of Chernobyl proportions.
20:23No.
20:30These women have gone through enough.
20:32The last thing you want to put them through is, ma'am, not only did you survive heart disease,
20:37now you have to survive Nina and Michael Kors and Heidi Klum telling you how horrible I have made you look in this garment.
20:44Yeah, exactly.
20:45I did everything at a quarter instead of a half, even though I patterned it at a half.
20:49I have a lot to get done.
20:51Yeah, you do.
20:52It'll be amazing if I can pull it off.
20:55After you.
20:59Hi-ho.
21:00Hi-ho.
21:01Who are you calling ho?
21:07Wow, there's a lot of red in here.
21:09I am very country for time this morning.
21:12I have, like, 70% of the dress to get done.
21:16And I'm very, very nervous about making sure that it fits her and being something that's interesting.
21:21I'm a little worried for Seth.
21:22I'm a little worried for Seth.
21:23Just a couple hours before the end of the night, he started to make another look.
21:26And I'm hoping that it's going to work out for him.
21:30After running through a few different designs, I decided to take the retro Campbell's soup approach, is what I call it.
21:40This is more of a couture gown than a couture gown.
21:47Since we all did red dresses, it's kind of like comparing oranges to oranges or apples to apples in this case.
21:55Each one needed to be a little bit different to stand out.
21:59Every single one of us is very worried at this point.
22:03There are a couple of designers that are pretty much done.
22:05But I don't think that any of the designs, including mine, are really as great as they could be if we had more time.
22:12Shoot.
22:14Good morning, designers.
22:16We'll be sending in your models shortly.
22:18You will each have an hour to send them to the Garnier Hair Salon and the L'Oreal Paris Makeup Room.
22:23If they're bringing in their own shoes, then use the bluefly.com wall for accessories.
22:28Okay, go, go, go.
22:31Morning.
22:33How are you today, sweetie?
22:35It's so good to me.
22:37If I could spit it on you real quick to make sure.
22:39I feel rushed a little bit because making sure that everything lays the way I think it should, I'm working right up to the last moment.
22:48Oh, very nice.
22:50Yeah?
22:51Very nice.
22:52And I think that knuckles is good.
22:53These are the shoes that I have.
22:54Oh, I just need to roll it and hem it.
22:57Perfect.
22:58That's great.
22:59Like, good times.
23:00What is that?
23:01It looks like a cheap flag at the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
23:06It was important for you to be true to yourself.
23:09I'm just, like, floored that I pulled this dress out of my ass in the last minute, and it actually was the right cut for her.
23:17I think I should have done earlier yesterday.
23:19I'm really confident about my dress.
23:21My model looks beautiful in it, and I think it shapes her body really well.
23:25I feel like Jesus seems to worry about his dress just because it's so short and so tight and, like, it doesn't really read gala party.
23:35I love it.
23:36It's exactly what I want it right here.
23:38This almost makes having heart surgery worth it.
23:42Awww.
23:43Okay, let's go get yourself up.
23:46She wants a lot of pop.
23:47Are we thinking federal faucet?
23:48Make her look fabulous.
23:50Is that more curl in this to the back?
23:53Yeah.
23:54Well, I mean, maybe not so high.
23:56This is a nice experience for you, too, right?
23:59Absolutely.
24:00And my husband's birthday was the first day.
24:13This is definitely a fashion emergency of Chernobyl proportions because everyone's running, everyone's grabbing irons, everyone's pressing the irons, spitting on fabrics.
24:24People are really doing anything they can to scramble to finish their dresses in the last moment.
24:29Oh, no.
24:33All right, Missy.
24:34Help me right back. Just take a second.
24:43Designers, guest models, this is it.
24:47All right, yay.
24:49We're going down to the runway. Follow me.
24:54Amy, are you the last?
24:57That's it.
25:00Coming up on Project Runway.
25:02This dress was just like a bag tied in the middle.
25:05I'm just not sure about your taste.
25:18Welcome to the runway.
25:19As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
25:24There are 13 of you here, and after tonight, there will be 12.
25:29Your challenge was to design a dress for the Campbell's Address Your Heart program.
25:34Also, for this challenge, you designed for women whose lives have been impacted by heart disease.
25:40The winning look will be worn at the annual Red Dress Awards during New York Fashion Week, and will be sold on Project Runway.com.
25:48All right, let's meet the judges.
25:50First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
25:53Hey, guys.
25:54Hey, Michael.
25:55Fashion Director for Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
25:58Hello, everyone.
26:00Designer and co-founder of Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
26:03Hello.
26:06Her dresses have been worn by the likes of Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Lopez.
26:12We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
26:14One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
26:20All right, let's start the show.
26:21I'm so happy with how happy Christina is when she comes out on the runway.
26:29And I think I really gave her that classic elegance with a few tweaks here and there to keep it modern and keep it fresh.
26:42The dress expresses my voice, yes, but it's more my client's voice.
26:46And this is one challenge where I let her take the lead, and I think we got what we wanted.
26:57I'm feeling really good about the dress.
26:59It stands out.
27:00It's a little different.
27:01It has a lot of texture in it, and it has a feminine quality and also sort of an edgy quality, which I love.
27:07She is incredible on the runway.
27:13Anthony found a way to make this full-figured woman look just as classy, confident, and polished as the women who are size 4 and size 6.
27:22I feel pretty confident watching her come down the runway.
27:29I think the dress definitely has my design sensibility in it.
27:34All in all, the design, it suits her very well.
27:41When I'm looking at my dress, I think that it does express me as a designer.
27:44I think that construction's beautiful, the fit's beautiful, and I think that my detail looks amazing.
27:48And the best thing is that I satisfy my client.
27:59The staff is really enjoying herself.
28:01Seeing her so happy overwhelmed my feelings of disappointment in myself about how the garment actually turned out.
28:07I think I really struggle with the super formal evening gown aspect.
28:18I feel great watching Julie.
28:20She just looked very sweet and happy and so cute.
28:24And she told me she's happy with the way it looks and the way it fits.
28:35Everything looks really good.
28:36The look came together really well.
28:37The fit is really right where I want it.
28:39She loves it and I'm really liking what I'm seeing.
28:49She looks stunning.
28:50She looks absolutely amazing and the dress fits and she's able to move in it.
28:55And it's a really great feeling because I know that I did what I needed to do.
29:06She looks so confident and she looks great in the dress.
29:10It looked different than any other dress that was up there.
29:13So I was happy about that.
29:15It just kind of went pow.
29:17I feel like I made a pretty dress, you know, I mean it's not perfect, but it has a nice hem and I like the flowers and I did my job.
29:32I'm happy with that.
29:33Here comes Rose and my God, she worked that dress like there was no tomorrow.
29:45It definitely expressed my point of view.
29:49She's happy.
29:50I'm happy.
29:51So we're both good.
29:52We're both good.
30:01If I call your name, please step forward.
30:04Mila.
30:06Maya.
30:07Anna.
30:09Amy.
30:11Jesse.
30:13Jesus.
30:14Please step forward.
30:15If I have not called your name, congratulations.
30:18Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next challenge.
30:23You can eat the runway.
30:32The six of you represent the highest and the lowest scores.
30:37One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
30:42Let's bring out your models.
30:49Mila, tell us about your look.
30:51Well, when I was looking at the Campbell's dossier, I sort of gravitated towards the star icon and then I just incorporated the logo fabric right here as a trim.
31:02When I saw this dress, it made me smile. I just thought it was really fun, yet it has a sense of classic at the same time, which is really hard to achieve.
31:11I love how you incorporated the branding. I love how you thought about the star. I thought that was brilliant.
31:16I think that this is a dress that maybe not every woman can pull off, but you pulled that dress up really, really well.
31:24I agree, because you just looked like, hey, I own this dress. I'm rocking it. Looks great. So I think job well done.
31:32Jesse, tell us about your look.
31:34I was going for something that worked with her body, so I wanted to cinch the waist and fill the bust.
31:40And then also I was thinking I wanted to have a jacket that she could pair with it.
31:45I think that it's a sweet dress, but I don't think that it stands out enough.
31:50To me, it looks a little costumey, like maybe a little bit of a majorette, like she should have a baton or something.
31:57The use of the branding was not that creative.
32:01Like some sort of strange corsage.
32:04Jennifer, do you have a problem taking the jacket off so we can see?
32:07I would question putting white at that point in the waist. I think that's never flattering on anybody.
32:16I think the neckline is very beautiful, and I think it frames her face very nicely.
32:23If it would have been crepe or something that moved that had a little bit less of a shine, I think you would have been in a much better situation.
32:30Jesus, tell us about your design.
32:33Okay, well we, of course, had to incorporate the labeling, so I decided to incorporate it on the side and pleat it to make it look more elegant.
32:42I also decided to create these straps right here to give it kind of like a glamorous look, and she wanted a short dress.
32:48Michael, what do you think?
32:49Where do I start?
32:52You basically took a checklist of everything that can turn tacky and combined it into one garment.
33:00Tight red satin, that short, plus the built-in straps.
33:06I think perhaps there's just too many elements going on in this dress.
33:09I think if you took maybe the rhinestones away, you would end up with a more successful dress.
33:13I think the eye doesn't quite know where to go when you're looking at it.
33:18I definitely think that you have very good construction skills.
33:21I'm just not sure about your taste.
33:26Less is more. You have to be very careful of not going overboard with these very cliché items.
33:37Amy, tell us about your look.
33:38For Nadine and I, it was really important that she feels very sexy and confident in her dress.
33:43We wanted to do a strapless top to show off her scar and kind of everything she's been through.
33:49I thought it was really beautiful.
33:51I love the fabric that you picked. I love the movement of the dress.
33:56It feels very modern, very feminine.
34:00I think the dress is beautiful. When you walked out, it moved, it walked so beautifully,
34:03and you looked so ethereal and confident, and I could tell that you were really happy in the dress.
34:08You know, the word elegant in today's times can seem old-fashioned,
34:14but what I loved here, it was elegant, but it was modern.
34:18Thumbs up. You look fabulous.
34:22Anna, tell us about your look.
34:24Well, Stephanie and I wanted to go away from sort of a red rectangle,
34:27and so we focused on using color in such a way that would break up and create more of a waist for her.
34:34I do like the bottom half of the dress, but I don't think a racer-back silhouette on her,
34:42who is broader on the shoulders, is going to help her out.
34:46And I think that the way this is cut, you know, you wanted to whittle her waist in,
34:49but I actually think it's making her look very broad on top,
34:53and not bringing my eye up to her face.
34:57It doesn't feel to me like an evening dress.
34:59Perhaps a color choice of the flesh is just a touch off.
35:04Maya, tell us about your look.
35:06We talked about having something with a lower neckline that shows her scar,
35:09and she was talking about how she used to cover it up,
35:12and now she wants to be proud of it.
35:15For me, there's something interesting about this dress.
35:17I feel like there is a design there.
35:19It gives, like, a nice shape to the body.
35:22I kind of see, like, a half of a heart.
35:24The effort that you put into the draping is what we found interesting.
35:28And I like the clutch. I thought that was clever.
35:30The dress made me want to look again, and I think that's always a great thing with the dress.
35:33It's very flattering. I think it looks really good on you.
35:36It's interesting and elegant at the same time.
35:39So, overall, I think a pretty great job.
35:42Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
35:44We're going to have a little chat,
35:46and then I call you back.
35:48Thank you very much. You can leave the runway.
35:57Let's start with Jesse.
35:59I don't understand why you would make such a short, wide jacket.
36:03It still didn't fit.
36:05You know, the shoulder on the jacket was terrible.
36:07Yeah.
36:08However, one thing I did like was his neckline.
36:12From the waist up, the dress was very flattering on her.
36:17Good bosoms.
36:18Yep. Excellent.
36:21Let's move on to Jesus.
36:22I had full flashback to shiny, short, tight, tacky, all of that. We've seen it before. And then let's add the crystals on top of it.
36:36It would have been a whole other story without the straps.
36:39He is really good at sewing.
36:41You know, he knows how to make clothes. It's really, unfortunately, it boils down to taste is something that you just can't learn.
36:51Anna.
36:52This dress was just like a bag tied in the middle.
36:56But I understood where she was coming from from a design point of view. It felt contemporary and it felt young. I just felt it was inappropriate for the challenge.
37:08Okay, let's move on to the designers that we did like.
37:11Let's start with Mila.
37:13I love the braiding of the Campbell branding. I like the star.
37:18I love the neckline. She put it on the perfect spot.
37:21She really captured the spirit of her model.
37:25And she had fun with it.
37:28I think Amy also did a really beautiful dress.
37:31The way she handled the fabrics was really great.
37:36Yes.
37:37I loved the subtle shine of the charmeuse coming through the chiffon.
37:42So it wasn't a big charmeuse dress. And I think also it was the right silhouette for her client.
37:49Oh, yes. And modern.
37:50She looked chic and modern.
37:53Okay, let's move on to Maya.
37:55I did like it, but I wasn't sure whether I should like it. It was a strange thing.
38:00I was looking and I was like, I really shouldn't be going for this dress.
38:03But there was something there that kept drawing me back.
38:06And to see something with a little more interest, I think, was nice.
38:09There was thought. There was workmanship. There was surprise.
38:13It is about heart health. So she brought the heart, one side of the heart into it.
38:19She didn't integrate the candles.
38:21But I liked the bag.
38:22Yeah, the bag was cute.
38:23The bag was cute.
38:26Okay, so we've made our decision.
38:30Good. Let's bring them back out.
38:32The six of you will represent the best and the worst.
38:41One of you will be named the winner.
38:43And one of you will be out.
38:45Maya, you're in. You can leave the runway.
39:02Amy, you are the winner of this challenge.
39:06Your dress was elegant and chic.
39:09Amy, you are the winner of this challenge.
39:14Your dress was elegant, moved beautifully,
39:17and made your client look happy and gorgeous.
39:21Nadine will be very memorable at the Red Dress Gala,
39:24and your dress will be sold on projectrunway.com.
39:27You can leave the runway.
39:29Thank you so much.
39:30It feels really great to finally win a challenge.
39:34You know, it was really important for me to win this one,
39:36so I'm really happy that it turned out the way it did for Nadine and I both.
39:40It's really exciting.
39:41It's an adrenaline rush, and I want to keep going.
39:44Mila, another good job. You're in. You can leave the runway.
39:53Jessie, you're in. You can leave the runway.
39:57Anna, Jesus, one of you will be out.
40:11Jesus, your dress was trying to be too many things at once,
40:16and ended up looking tacky and cheap.
40:19We again question your taste level.
40:22Anna, you made some serious misjudgments.
40:27This dress was poorly made and unflattering for your client's figure.
40:32Anna.
40:40You're in.
40:41You can leave the runway.
40:44I'm sorry, Jesus. That means you're out.
40:50That means you're out.
40:52Okay. Thank you. It was a great experience.
40:57Bye. Thank you.
40:59I'm shocked.
41:00I'm really, really shocked at this point that I've been eliminated from the contest.
41:04Aw, mijo.
41:07But you know what? I'm really happy because I put in my 100%,
41:10and I feel that at the end I did satisfy my client.
41:13Aw, Jesus. You're awfully good-spirited.
41:16I am.
41:17You know?
41:18Yeah.
41:19Thank you so much. It was a great experience.
41:20It's been great having you here.
41:21So I have to send you to the work room to clean up your space.
41:23Cool.
41:24All right? Okay.
41:25We'll see more of you, Jesus.
41:26Yeah, you guys will.
41:27Bye.
41:28I'm only 21. There's so much more of Jesus Estrada that people are going to see out there.
41:32Everything the judges told me I am going to take with me,
41:35and that's just going to make me a really, really strong designer in the future.
41:40Next time on Project Runway.
41:42This challenge is one of the biggest in the history of Project Runway,
41:47and the reward is unprecedented.
41:50Woo!
41:51And they're off.
41:52Whoa.
41:53I just want to get out of this a lot.
41:54Come on.
41:55I'm in a mode of hysteria.
41:57You don't want it to look like clown clothes. That worries me.
42:00I wish they would give us more time in this challenge,
42:02but life isn't there, so why the hell should Project Runway be?
42:07This would not work at all.
42:09It's like three ingredients that leave you feeling nauseous.
42:32Now breathe.
42:33But now it's dark.
42:34And there are some
