00:00Well we have another cool upper level low sitting over us today and tomorrow
00:03creating instability some scattered showers but then upper level ridge of
00:06heat moves in for the end of the week in the weekend temperatures will be above
00:09normal with hot dry sunny weather but a pattern change may bring storms next week
00:24so we got another upper level low these are just pools of cool air aloft we've
00:28kind of seen a series of these over the last week to 10 days generating instability especially with
00:33some of these peaks of sun during the day that'll help pop up some showers and a couple of thunderstorms
00:38brighter skies though for northern Minnesota once again kind of like last week the warmest
00:42temperatures and driest conditions will be in northern Minnesota while we see more numerous
00:45showers in central and southern Minnesota but these are still going to be hit and miss and
00:50not a repeat of last week this is not going to be a soaking rainfall event still some lingering
00:54instability tomorrow a couple of midday showers maybe again these are generated by just even
00:59peaks of that strong almost June sun with that chilly air loft but still we're talking rainfall
01:05amounts of a quarter of an inch or less for most of us and you can see as you move into northeastern
01:09Minnesota less in the way of precip too so southern Minnesota the most out of this but even there
01:14we're talking a few tenths of an inch of rain but cooler conditions in southern Minnesota today
01:18with the clouds and showers today and tomorrow upper 60s low 70s for northern Minnesota
01:23uh so this pool of cool air aloft that upper level low will slowly move east and southeast creating
01:29crummy weather for the east the rest of the week but for us this upper level ridge uh from the west is
01:34going to build in for the end of the week and the weekend that means several days of dry sunny weather
01:38and hotter temperatures too we go from below normal temperatures today and tomorrow that'll shift east
01:42but then warmth builds in they're talking about some excessive heat in California and Nevada and we're
01:48going to get a sample of that which means for us mid to upper 80s maybe some 90 degree readings
01:54especially in western Minnesota I think temperatures can get close to 90 again by Friday so several days
01:58of 80s summer like temperatures are back along with sunshine but not a lot of rain uh we're going to
02:04see maybe an isolated shower thunderstorm Saturday but the next best chance of moisture may not come for
02:08about a week after today as we start to see that ridge shift east this is next Tuesday we'll get into
02:14another trough in the west this will help to push up moisture and disturbances from the southwest so
02:19we could be dealing with some thunderstorms and maybe even some severe weather uh early next week but
02:23in the for the time being fairly quiet other than these spotty showers a couple garden variety
02:28thunderstorms today into tomorrow a little more sunshine tomorrow a lot more on Thursday and especially
02:34Friday into the weekend we should see lots of sun along with those July like temperatures 87 by
02:40Monday and by early next week those dew points will start to increase too so that'll be one of the
02:44ingredients with that pattern shift that could help to spawn some thunderstorms as we head into early
02:49next week but in the meantime probably have to water your garden and plants here after several dry days ahead
