00:00Well, we take a look back at storm reports from yesterday, how much rain fell, and more rain is on the way Sunday night.
00:05But in between, we'll squeeze out a decent weekend here with some sunshine, slightly cooler than normal temperatures.
00:21So we did get some severe weather here.
00:23The bulk of it in Iowa and Nebraska, as expected, that's where we had 16 different reports of tornadoes.
00:29But in Minnesota, mostly some hail, most of it under the severe criteria.
00:33So a lot of these hail reports were under one-inch criteria, which is the severe cutoff.
00:38But we did have a few one-inch-plus hail reports and one report of wind damage in Easton and picked up quite a bit of rain in southern Minnesota, too.
00:46A swath of one to three inches of rain fell from Mankato down to nearly Elbert Lee over towards Rochester, 2.94 inches in Hollandale.
00:55Twin Cities amounts generally to a quarter to a half inch of rainfall.
00:59So not enough to eliminate our April deficit we have so far.
01:02We're running about a half inch behind, which is easy to make up.
01:06And of course, March, we had a surplus of moisture.
01:09Still some lingering clouds and some scattered showers, but that low pressure and cold front has moved off to the south and east.
01:14We're going to see this area of high pressure building.
01:16That means some sunshine here for tomorrow.
01:17Some spotty showers still today, mostly southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Minnesota, and maybe a few midday sprinkles.
01:25But otherwise, the bulk of that precip stays in the northeastern and southeastern corners of the state.
01:29And it'll be in the form of some snow showers in northeastern Minnesota, where the air is a little cooler.
01:34So low to mid-50s for highs.
01:35Southern Minnesota today, that is a touch below normal.
01:3840s to the north.
01:39But we should see some peaks of sun, I think, heading into the afternoon hours.
01:42Again, northeastern and southeastern Minnesota will be some of the cloudier spots.
01:45And tomorrow, most of us will see sun across western, central, southern Minnesota.
01:50Lingering clouds and a few of those flurries in northeastern Minnesota.
01:54But overnight tonight, it is going to be chilly as those skies clear out right around sunset.
01:59We're going to look at mid-30s for the Twin Cities and southeast, but western and northern Minnesota in the 20s.
02:04Tomorrow, similar temperatures.
02:0650s southern Minnesota with the sunshine, though, so it'll feel better.
02:0940s to the north, still kind of locked into some of those lingering residual clouds.
02:13And then Sunday, closer to 60.
02:16Upper 50s, if not 60, especially western Minnesota, should be in the low 60s.
02:20So not a bad Sunday.
02:21And we'll hold off the rain until probably Sunday night, I think, in the Twin Cities.
02:25Far southern Minnesota, maybe by late afternoon and evening Sunday.
02:29And then another shot of some showers here on Tuesday.
02:32This is mostly going to be a southeastern Minnesota event this Sunday night into Monday rainfall.
02:37So for the Twin Cities and Point South, we could see a half inch to an inch of rain even
02:41in the southeastern quarter of the state.
02:43So if we get that, that'll wipe out that April rainfall deficit that we have thus far.
02:49And then there's more moisture on the way for next week.
02:52Temperatures will be slightly above normal, mostly 60s.
02:55But another surge of moisture Thursday into Friday, double normal precipitable water content
03:01values for the time of the year.
03:03And that means some potential thunderstorms here Thursday into Friday.
03:07This is the European model's lightning forecast Thursday and Friday.
03:10And there's the potential for some heavy rain there because we'll see thunderstorms embedded
03:14in that system.
03:16So we'll have to keep an eye on that.
03:17It's still almost a week away.
03:18But potential for some heavier rainfall here for portions of central and southern Minnesota
03:22the way it's looking right now.
03:23But of course, that could easily shift.
03:2554 today.
03:27That is a few degrees below average.
03:29A spotty shower or two, but also some peaks of sun.
03:33Brighter skies tomorrow.
03:35Not bad in the afternoon, but it will be a chilly start.
03:38Sunday.
03:39Sun most of the day.
03:40Closer to 60.
03:41We will see high clouds increase through the afternoon hours.
03:44And then not bad temperature-wise next week.
03:47Again, mostly in the 60s.
03:48That is a little above normal.
03:49With that next chance of showers Tuesday.
03:51And then that next potentially more significant round of moisture here moving back in here
