00:00Well, we've got another nice day today, a pretty pleasant Memorial weekend with just some isolated
00:04showers, and then things are gradually warming up next week. Next weekend will be more summer-like.
00:19So one of the things we're seeing with the recent rainfalls are the river levels rising,
00:24no surprise there, and we're not talking about any flooding, certainly not like a year ago when
00:28we were looking at a lot of rivers reaching flood stage, but it is interesting to see the water make
00:33its way into the river basins and increase those river levels. The Mississippi River up in St. Paul
00:38already up about two and a half feet, expected to go up another two feet, but flood stage is way up
00:43here, so we're not even close to the action stage. But you'll notice if you're like me and near our
00:49Mississippi or Minnesota rivers often that those river levels are rising. We'll also see a little
00:54increased cloud cover today, more of those fair weather cumulus clouds filling back in like
00:58yesterday afternoon, but also some high clouds coming in from the west. That system you see to
01:02the west is going to stay mostly to the west and south of Minnesota, maybe clipping southwestern
01:07Minnesota. But highs back in the 60s today, 50s into the Arrowhead, where we'll have a little bit
01:11more of that thicker afternoon cloud cover. And then tomorrow back into the 60s, mostly upper 60s across
01:16much of the state, partly cloudy skies yet again. So neither of these days are going to be
01:21completely sunny, but not overcast either. Sunday a little closer to 70 degrees, and Monday
01:27probably too. And Sunday, Monday looking like the maybe clearer and drier of the two or of the three
01:33days of the holiday weekend here with those temperatures starting to warm up a little bit
01:37more too. Now tomorrow we are going to see potential for some of these isolated and spotty showers,
01:41mostly in northern Minnesota. Just one or two models bring an isolated shower in the Twin Cities,
01:47but I do think they'll stay mostly in the northern part of the state. And then also that system
01:50to the west, bringing some showers to southwestern Minnesota. So you add it all up, even with those
01:55isolated showers to the north, we're looking at very light precip still over the course of Saturday,
02:00Sunday, Monday combined just for northern Minnesota, and then that system off to the west. But then
02:05another system, Tuesday, Wednesday, does make its way into southern Minnesota, it appears. But it's not
02:10going to be a repeat of the rain we had this last week, more showery. So some scattered showers
02:15driven especially by some of the daytime heating, both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. And temperatures
02:20will be a little cooler those days too with the increased cloud cover and some of those showers
02:25around. But as far as rainfall goes, again, not a soaker like we just had, but maybe a half inch to an
02:31inch of rain for parts of southern Minnesota Tuesday into Wednesday. But overall, that upper level ridge
02:36pattern to the west tries to build in here. We're still kind of stuck between it this weekend. And then
02:40next week, that ridge builds a little closer to Minnesota by the weekend. So temperatures should push up
02:46still close to near 80 degrees as we head into next Saturday and Sunday across southern Minnesota.
02:51That's above normal, but certainly warmer too. So we'll see what the timing is for those 80 degree
02:58readings. But it's certainly going to be on an upward trend, those temperatures through the week next
03:02week. 65 today, 68 tomorrow. Again, mostly isolated showers in northern Minnesota. Sunday, Monday looking
03:09beautiful. Then we'll see those showers Tuesday, Wednesday with the temperature trend overall back
03:14upward through the week next week with, again, 80 degree temperatures potentially by next Friday or
03:19Saturday.
