Rajma is a healthy and nutritious Punjabi vegetarian main course recipe that is prepared with kidney beans (rajma) and onion - tomato gravy. This is a simple curry that goes best with steamed rice.
- In a pan heat some oil. - Add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute. - Add chopped onions and mix well. Let the onions become golden brown. Then add tomatoes. Mix everything well. - Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander & cumin seeds powder. Mix well till it releases oil. - Then add cooked kidney beans along with some water. - Add salt and mix well. - Add garam masala powder and give a stir. - Cover it with a lid and let the rajma cook for 10 minutes. - Serve this piping hot rajma with steamed rice.
