00:03:59May 6th, this is the second night.
00:04:04I got to get myself back in the flow of things.
00:04:08I've taken too much time off, but I'm here.
00:04:12Thank you so much to everybody who has showed up.
00:04:16Last night was great.
00:04:18I saw SOS out there.
00:04:20I want to give a very special thank you to my niece Okita for holding me down and also Facebook.
00:04:27Y'all were really on point last night.
00:04:29I think 150, close to almost 170 views within less than 24 hours.
00:04:36So thank you so much to everyone out there on Facebook.
00:04:39We got some great things coming, and we got some great things coming, which I'll announce towards the end of the show, but thank you so much.
00:04:46Before we go ahead and thank you so much before we go ahead and thank you so much before we go ahead and get started, you know that I have to give a very special thank you to my executive producer, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:04:53Because without him, none of this will be possible.
00:04:56And without each and every one of you out there checking me out, liking, subscribing, supporting, you know, for all of these years, you know, I wouldn't be here as well either.
00:05:06So thank you so much to everybody out there.
00:05:09Give yourself a round of applause, a pat on the back, whatever you have to do, because your love over the years has made this show evolve to what it is today.
00:05:19And I'm so thankful and I'm so proud of each and every one of you, my special guests who come on from time to time as you continue to come in to the mentorship series of the full moon podcast, reading between the wines.
00:05:33You're going to hear from some amazing guests, amazing students, and you're just going to learn.
00:05:42You're going to, we all going to learn together.
00:05:44Like I said last night, we're going to learn together.
00:05:47And so welcome on in.
00:05:49So we're going to go ahead and do a little recap of last night's show, which was pretty heavy when we talk about the weight of the mind.
00:05:58That's what we were speaking about last night.
00:06:02So a little recap for those of you who are just joining tonight.
00:06:06Maybe this is the first time that you've heard about it.
00:06:09You might want to go ahead and watch that replay from last night.
00:06:12But the weight of the mind, when I think about the weight of the mind, I think of myself as a child.
00:06:18I think of when I heard things such as the mind is a terrible thing to waste.
00:06:22I remember these commercials when they were trying to stop us from getting on drugs.
00:06:27They would be like an egg and there would be a frying pan.
00:06:30And they would say that this is your brain and this is your brain on drugs.
00:06:34And they would crack the egg and it would be frying in a frying pan.
00:06:36All of those types of things we heard as a kid.
00:06:40And it's interesting how when you grow up, no one no longer speaks about mental health.
00:06:45No one speaks no more about how your mind is so powerful.
00:06:49No one speaks about how you are powerful in general.
00:06:52It's all about entering to matrix, entering into the rat race and getting on that hamster wheel.
00:06:58And we just keep spinning and spinning and spinning until we spin out of control.
00:07:02And during that process, somewhere along the way, we forget who we are and we don't know who we are.
00:07:08And this is what I call getting tricked up, getting wrapped up, getting trapped up into the matrix, not understanding and knowing who we are.
00:07:17And the weight of the mind becomes heavy.
00:07:20And the song of the day last night was from Montel Jordan, Tricks on My Mind.
00:07:26And what I discussed last night is the only person who can play tricks on your mind is yourself.
00:07:34So I want you to think about this one little phrase that I have to say that I learned from my Buddhist mentor.
00:07:42Everything starts with self.
00:07:44The beginning, the end, everything starts with self.
00:07:48So before we can say that this person did something to me, before we can say that that person did something to me,
00:07:56we have to go back to that phrase.
00:07:58Everything starts with self.
00:08:00No one can do anything to you unless you allow them to.
00:08:03So if you allow someone to enter into your personal space, if you allow someone to enter into your sacred space,
00:08:09and then they're allowed to get that close to the point where they are able to play tricks on your mind,
00:08:15the person who gave them access, the person who gave them the keys is yourself.
00:08:22Everything starts with self.
00:08:24No one in this world can do anything to you unless you allow them to do so.
00:08:28So be very careful with who you allow to enter into your mental space.
00:08:33Last night, I also briefly talked because that wasn't really what the show was about last night,
00:08:39but I touched base on it a little bit.
00:08:42When it comes to when you get into these relationships, when you get into these romantic relationships,
00:08:48I should have done some more research on this, but I'll do my research and bring it back to you at a future show.
00:08:54But when you get into these relationships, there is something that goes on in the brain,
00:08:59whether it's that dopamine, whether that's that serotonin.
00:09:02Again, I'm going to do my proper research and have the technical terms when I bring it back.
00:09:06But within the first two years, you're pretty much mentally high.
00:09:11Because of your relationship, this new relationship, the person is hot, sexy, this, that, the next, the other, whatever it is,
00:09:18you are mentally high.
00:09:21So within those first two years, I caution you all to not do anything drastic,
00:09:26such as moving in with someone, such as getting pregnant, such as committing to something,
00:09:33leasing a car, you know, co-signing, whatever the case may be.
00:09:37We do some silly things within those first two years because we're mentally high off of that love hormone,
00:09:44that love, that love bug that hits us.
00:09:46But then after about the two-year mark, things start to fade.
00:09:51You're probably going to find out that that person is really not who they are within the first three months.
00:09:55But anyway, when you're doing some things that you shouldn't be doing,
00:10:00sometimes your mind can get a little cloud and the waters can become a little murky.
00:10:06But usually after about that two-year mark, you really start to see who that person really is.
00:10:11But meanwhile, they showed you about three months into it,
00:10:14somewhere in between the first time that you met them up until three months.
00:10:17But we weren't really paying attention because there was a lot of bedroom action going on.
00:10:22So be very careful that I spoke to you about that.
00:10:25So that's when it comes to letting people get so close to you and get into your mental space.
00:10:30If you're not paying attention, they're able to play tricks on your mind.
00:10:34But you allow them to.
00:10:36So everything starts with self.
00:10:38So be very careful because we can walk around and say,
00:10:41Oh, you know, I can't eat.
00:10:44I can't sleep.
00:10:45I can't do this.
00:10:46I can't do that.
00:10:46I got so much stress.
00:10:47I got so much anxiety.
00:10:49But the person who caused that is you.
00:10:53Just think about that.
00:10:54I know people who are hearing, you know,
00:10:56whether you stopped by for the first time or you might be going through something,
00:10:59you might just stepped out of something, you might have not had that come to Jesus meeting with self.
00:11:06You might not like what I'm saying.
00:11:08It might not resonate with you tonight.
00:11:10It might sound foreign.
00:11:11But as you go on your journey, as you learn and you heal and you grow, this will all start to click.
00:11:19But again, for me, it was foreign too.
00:11:21So I get it.
00:11:22I understand.
00:11:23I also want to leave you with this here.
00:11:25And this might be going off a little topic, but it was very important.
00:11:31And I wanted to make sure that I bring this tonight because this has happened to me so many times.
00:11:36I said about being careful with people who come into your mental space,
00:11:41people who come into your sacred place, people who get so close to you.
00:11:45Remember, everything that we deal with, every person, every interaction, this is a lesson.
00:11:50And so that person that you are interacting with, you are either supposed to teach them something or they're supposed to teach you.
00:11:58Remember, we are all teachers in this game.
00:12:00We're all students in this game.
00:12:02This is the game of life.
00:12:03And if you don't know how to play this game properly, you are going to have to do it again.
00:12:08And every single lesson, you have to do it again.
00:12:10And you have to continuously repeat it until you get this thing right.
00:12:13So we understand that.
00:12:16So as we interact and we meet these people, we get into these relationships, we get into these friendships, we get into these situationships.
00:12:23Just remember that our minds will get us into something.
00:12:30Our hearts will get us into something.
00:12:33But be very careful when people say follow your heart.
00:12:36Because your mind is the most powerful thing on your body, but your heart is the most wicked.
00:12:44I'll say that again.
00:12:46Your mind is the most powerful thing on your body.
00:12:51Did I say that right?
00:12:54Your mind is the most powerful thing on your body, but your heart is the most wicked.
00:12:58Excuse me, I had a lot of caffeine today.
00:13:01Keeping it real.
00:13:02So be very cautious when someone says, follow your heart.
00:13:08You know what I have to say when people say follow your heart?
00:13:13I have to take a sip on this.
00:13:15For those of you who have been following me for a while, rocking with me, rolling with me for a while.
00:13:22You'll know exactly what I mean.
00:13:24What I have to say when people say follow your heart.
00:13:26If you ever have anybody tell you, follow your heart, because I know that that's that old saying that's been lingering out there.
00:13:34Run.
00:13:35Run like hell if anybody ever tells you, oh, follow your heart.
00:13:39Your heart will get you into some nonsense.
00:13:43I ain't going to take it there.
00:13:44I ain't going to cuss tonight.
00:13:46This podcast has been restricted on certain platforms because of the adult disclaimers that I put out there.
00:13:54So I'm trying to clean things up a bit.
00:13:57Run.
00:14:00Your mind will get you into some situations.
00:14:03Your heart will also get you into some situations.
00:14:05One is going to get you into something that's going to lead you into the right direction.
00:14:08And one will lead you into the wrong direction, which is also connected to some of these emotional decisions that we make.
00:14:17So go ahead and watch that replay from last night when we talked about the weight of the mind.
00:14:25Our minds are so powerful.
00:14:27They're like computer systems.
00:14:29And whatever you put in is what you get out.
00:14:32And a lot of us, what we're putting out in a universe is nonsense, drama, because of what we're putting in, what we're consuming.
00:14:41Anyway, we're going to go ahead and move on from that.
00:14:48We're at a point now in our lives where you get the opportunity to write your own story.
00:14:54If anybody didn't tell you that, if we forgot along the way because of the matrix, because we were stuck on a hamster wheel, whatever the case may be.
00:15:03Again, we have the power to write our own story.
00:15:07Now, the question for each and every one of you out there is.
00:15:12Are you going to write poison or are you going to write your medicine?
00:15:17Are you going to write that poison or are you going to go ahead and write your medicine?
00:15:21Because we all have that power.
00:15:24We forgot.
00:15:26Life got in the way.
00:15:27People got in the way.
00:15:29Things got in the way.
00:15:30Places got in the way.
00:15:32We got in the way of our own selves.
00:15:38Experience is a good teacher.
00:15:40It takes someone like me to know.
00:15:41Shout out to Miss Mickey Howard.
00:15:44That's going to be the theme this week.
00:15:46Experience is a good teacher.
00:15:48And it takes someone like me to know.
00:15:49If you've been through some stuff and you've been through it and you know and you don't want to do it again, that's what I'm talking about.
00:15:59It takes someone like me to know.
00:16:01Listen, we've been here before, just like my girl Mary J. Blige off of the Good Morning Gorgeous album, Love Without a Heartbreak.
00:16:07I never claimed to be a genius, but I lived long enough to see this.
00:16:11So I understand the game today.
00:16:12I understand the BS today.
00:16:14I understand the okie doke.
00:16:15And I never claimed to be a genius.
00:16:17But this thing right here, oh yeah.
00:16:19I've been.
00:16:20I lived long enough to see this.
00:16:21I understand this.
00:16:22This looks too familiar about my past.
00:16:25It looks too familiar about the places that I've been before.
00:16:28So since I know better, I do better.
00:16:29So when I see that coming, now I'm able to make better decisions.
00:16:33That's when your mind is in check.
00:16:36But when that heart starts to overpower that mind, now you got yourself into a situation.
00:16:43Now you let yourself become vulnerable to get into more situations and more issues.
00:16:48Welcome on in.
00:16:52Welcome on in.
00:16:54Now we're going to go ahead and get into the song of the day tonight.
00:16:58Here we are.
00:17:01Episode 8.
00:17:04Health vs. Wealth.
00:17:05So we're going to talk about health vs. wealth tonight.
00:17:09And what a great song of the day.
00:17:13Miss Fantasia.
00:17:15Song is called Free Yourself.
00:17:17And that's off of the self-titled album, Free Yourself.
00:17:21Released in 2000, I believe it was 2004.
00:17:24Yes, 2004.
00:17:26And I also saw something today that Fantasia said that she is ready to release a gospel album.
00:17:32So shout out to Fantasia.
00:17:34And when I do the song of the days, I remix it and I make it work for what we got going on here.
00:17:41So when you hear some of these song titles and these themes,
00:17:45if you aren't tuned in and zoned in to the show, it may not make sense.
00:17:51But, you know, I like to remix it up.
00:17:53So health vs. Wealth.
00:17:54Tonight we're speaking about freeing yourself.
00:17:56So as we're on this whole mental journey during Mental Health Awareness Month in May,
00:18:02how about we free ourselves?
00:18:04How about we free ourselves from the nonsense and the drama that we've signed up for?
00:18:08Because, like I said in the beginning, everything starts with self.
00:18:13Shout out to my mentor.
00:18:13I had a conversation with her today and we were speaking about some of these same themes,
00:18:19but everything starts with self.
00:18:20So if we know that everything starts with self, we have the power to free ourselves
00:18:24from some of the things that we signed up for that we really didn't mean to,
00:18:28for some of the nonsense that we got ourselves into that we really didn't mean to,
00:18:32these relationships that we got ourselves in that we didn't really mean to.
00:18:36So now you have the opportunity to free yourself.
00:18:38And the reason why you have the opportunity to free yourself is because no one else will.
00:18:45It's okay.
00:18:46Everybody else is okay with it.
00:18:48Everybody else is okay with you, you know, signing up, spending your money,
00:18:53spending your resources, spending your time, spending your mental on them.
00:18:58What do they care for?
00:18:59They just along for the ride, especially if it's someone who doesn't care about you,
00:19:03especially somebody who is, you know, going along with the plan just to get along,
00:19:09getting them where they fit in, doing them.
00:19:13What ain't doing them, you ain't doing you.
00:19:16So tonight we're going to speak about freeing ourselves from all of these chains,
00:19:20all of this bondage, all of this nonsense, all of this stuff that we thought that we needed.
00:19:25We thought that we needed to have that.
00:19:27We needed to go there.
00:19:28We needed to be this.
00:19:29We needed to do that.
00:19:33Song of the day, Free Yourself.
00:19:37Miss Fantasia, released in 2004 off of her album, Free Yourself.
00:19:42It was her debut album, Free Yourself.
00:19:45Episode 8, Health vs. Wealth, Transformational Tuesday.
00:19:49Now, if you could please do me a favor before we go ahead and get in to the real deal here tonight.
00:19:57Thank you so much to everybody out there who's watching.
00:20:01Please like, comment, share, subscribe, tag a friend, text a friend.
00:20:05Do whatever you need to do to let them know what we have going on here tonight.
00:20:09I always say that it doesn't matter how many people are out there watching,
00:20:13how many people watch the replay,
00:20:14how many people come in for a minute, leave, bounce back, whatever.
00:20:20It's okay.
00:20:21I don't get focused on the numbers.
00:20:24One thing that I like to get zoned in and focused on is when it's just that one person.
00:20:31During my journey, as I started this in 2020,
00:20:33there were times where there was nobody out there watching and listening.
00:20:36But it's when it's that one person that texts me,
00:20:40that one person that DMs,
00:20:41that one person that shoots a comment out there,
00:20:44that says, thank you so much, just resonated with me.
00:20:48One person.
00:20:50That's all we're here to do tonight.
00:20:52Now, if we get more, great.
00:20:55But if it's that one person that we can break,
00:20:57that they help them have a breakthrough,
00:20:59then that's all that that matters.
00:21:01And I will tell you that nine out of 10 times,
00:21:04there's always some mystical thing that happens
00:21:08throughout the 411 podcast and reading Between the Wines.
00:21:11And that's exactly why I'm here still doing it here today.
00:21:14Because let me tell you that this has been a journey
00:21:16and it has not always been in my favor.
00:21:20There were some ups and downs, peaks and valleys.
00:21:22And there were times where I said, absolutely not.
00:21:24I don't think I'm doing this again.
00:21:26And every time I was ready to go ahead and throw the towel in,
00:21:30there would be those breakthrough moments.
00:21:31There would be those aha moments.
00:21:33There would be that one person.
00:21:35In fact, actually, there was one person who actually came out on YouTube one time.
00:21:40And it actually helped save my life because I was going through some tough situations.
00:21:43I was going through some things that I probably can't speak about here.
00:21:48And this person was connected to my past.
00:21:51And they actually reached out to me here on the show
00:21:54and help move things in my direction, in my favor.
00:21:59So I'm here.
00:22:01We here.
00:22:01We up.
00:22:02And we're going to continue to do this and just that one person.
00:22:06So tonight, we are going to Houston, Texas.
00:22:12Shout out to Texas.
00:22:13We're going to help Mr. Marcus out here tonight.
00:22:1629-year-old personal trainer.
00:22:18And this story resonates so, so deeply with me because I was in retail for over 25 years
00:22:27in one location, 25 years, one company, 25 years.
00:22:32And then I spent three years in another company.
00:22:34So I want you to do the math.
00:22:36And then after that, I spent about two years in another company, but 25 years in one company.
00:22:42I started that company directly out of high school, and I got promoted, and I started
00:22:48as a cashier, making like $5.25, maybe $6.
00:22:54Let's just round it up to $6 at that time, and worked myself all the way up to a store
00:23:00manager, trainer, started flying all over the country, helping them open up stores and
00:23:07things like that, gave me a bunch of responsibility and teaching, training people, all of those
00:23:14things.
00:23:14I shared that story last night.
00:23:16So this story here with Marcus hits home because you got to be very careful because you can
00:23:24become brainwashed by your environment, the people who you were around, some of the companies
00:23:30that we decided to sign up for, and we thought that it was our company.
00:23:34We thought that it was our mission.
00:23:35We thought it was our plan.
00:23:38Here we are making somebody else wealthy.
00:23:41Here we are making somebody else successful, but we haven't tapped in and done anything
00:23:46for ourselves.
00:23:48And some of these big corporations, I told myself that I'm going to write a book one day
00:23:53about this, about what goes on in corporate America, because Lord knows I've seen enough
00:23:59throughout 25 years.
00:24:00I have enough content that I'll be able to probably have a bestseller one day when I link
00:24:05up with the right person.
00:24:06Can't tell you how many relationships, behind the scenes, things that are just despicable
00:24:16that goes on in corporate America.
00:24:17Let's just keep it real.
00:24:18And I'm thankful that I'm not in it.
00:24:20But these corporations, they got a lot of money.
00:24:23Big corporations, they got money and they have these tactics.
00:24:27They got these nice videos that they would always play and they would brainwash you.
00:24:33In my case, I was in pet specialty.
00:24:35And I remember you would have these people who would come in and knew nothing about this
00:24:38company for the first time.
00:24:40That's probably the first time that they heard it.
00:24:43And they would play these videos and we would have these little meetings and conferences before
00:24:48we opened up a store.
00:24:49And they would go around and they would ask each and every individual how many pets they
00:24:53owned and the person who said, I don't own any pets, they would get like, the vibe would
00:25:00change.
00:25:01The room would change.
00:25:02People would go, you don't have any pets.
00:25:05And, you know, give them that look.
00:25:07Oh, well, we got to go ahead and get you at least a goldfish.
00:25:10And next thing you know, this person feels a certain way because they don't own any pets.
00:25:17Hell, I'm just here to make some money.
00:25:18I want to be a cashier.
00:25:20I want to be a stock or whatever.
00:25:21I'm just here to make money like you work at Burger King, you work at Target, you work
00:25:25at whatever, whatever.
00:25:26You're just here to make money.
00:25:28OK.
00:25:29But they trick you, brainwash you into thinking that you need to purchase all types of stuff
00:25:35and take on all of these things.
00:25:36And you're cool if you have all of these pets and they show you videos of people who have
00:25:40thousands of pets.
00:25:42Yeah.
00:25:42Mm hmm.
00:25:44Next thing you know, you're wasting your paycheck week after week after week and all these pet
00:25:49supplies.
00:25:51OK.
00:25:52For those of you who work in clothing stores, I'm sure they do the same thing.
00:25:56We'll give you these discounts.
00:25:57We'll do that.
00:25:58Did you come to work or did you come to spend money?
00:26:00So I remember I got caught up in that.
00:26:04Next thing you know, I had hamsters, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, this, that, the next, the
00:26:09other.
00:26:10And I sit there and I remember complaining that I go to work to clean up dog poop.
00:26:14The hell, I don't want to come home and do it, too.
00:26:18So, Marcus, I feel for you.
00:26:21We're getting ready to help this personal trainer out here tonight.
00:26:24Marcus spends more than he earns on fitness-related costs like supplements, gear, and fancy meal
00:26:32plans.
00:26:33Now, he's fit physically.
00:26:36He's physically fit, but financially out of shape.
00:26:38So, Marcus is a personal trainer and he spends more than he earns on fitness-related costs
00:26:44like supplements, gear, and fancy meal plans.
00:26:48Now, he's fit physically.
00:26:51He's physically fit, but financially out of shape.
00:26:55So, now, I don't know the full story here because I don't have a snippet of this here,
00:27:00but we're going to go ahead and dissect this a little bit.
00:27:05Anybody, let's just back this up.
00:27:07Anybody who spends more than they earn, it's a problem.
00:27:14I'm going to repeat that again.
00:27:15Listen, anybody who spends more than they earn, it's a problem.
00:27:21Now, for me, I have lived majority of my life doing exactly that.
00:27:31The only thing that saved me was that I made a bunch of money out of nowhere.
00:27:38I think I made more money that I probably couldn't spend at all, if that makes sense.
00:27:42But from the first time I got a job, think about that $6 an hour, all the way up until
00:27:52probably when I started to get into some real high management positions to where I was making
00:27:58enough money that I wasn't able to spend at all.
00:28:05But I got very close.
00:28:06Listen, there were some times where I probably did.
00:28:08And if I didn't have a family, it would have been 10 times worse.
00:28:12So, I think having a family actually helped save me because I knew I had children to take care of and I couldn't be too reckless.
00:28:19But a lot of us do that.
00:28:22We spend more than what we earn.
00:28:25And here's my rule that I've learned.
00:28:29Shout out to my mentors.
00:28:31If you cannot buy whatever you're thinking about buying five times over without swiping your credit card and going into debt,
00:28:40borrowing money, payday loans, this, that, the next, the other, don't buy it.
00:28:45I'll repeat that again.
00:28:47That nice piece of jewelry, that nice shirt that you want, those nice jeans, those nice sneakers.
00:28:53If you cannot buy it five times over, take that price, times it, times five.
00:29:00If that dollar amount is not in your bank account, you should not be buying it.
00:29:08If you follow that program, if you get on that situation, that plan, whatever you want to call it,
00:29:14things will start to look up for you.
00:29:16Mr. Marcus, I get it.
00:29:23I used to work for a company that did the same thing.
00:29:26They make you feel a certain way.
00:29:27You got to have this.
00:29:28You got to have that.
00:29:29You got to buy this for your pet.
00:29:30You got to do that.
00:29:31And I know that you are a personal trainer.
00:29:35So my next question is, do you have your own business?
00:29:38Or are you working for a corporation?
00:29:40Or are you working for these gyms?
00:29:42Because I know all of these fancy meal plans and all of those things and being a personal trainer,
00:29:46they sort of make it seem like it's your own business.
00:29:49But is your name on there?
00:29:50Because if it's not, my next question is, are you able to use some of these supplements and gears
00:29:55and all of those things that you're purchasing as a tax write-off?
00:30:00If not, then we might need to start to second guess something.
00:30:03And maybe you might need to open up your own, I would say, gym or personal training business.
00:30:14But purchasing all of these things and spending more than what you have coming in is a problem.
00:30:23And again, so I'm going to take it off of Marcus and I'm going to just take it on to my old version of myself
00:30:30and people that I know and just society in general, how we are.
00:30:35Like we want to look fly.
00:30:37We want to look fly.
00:30:38We want to put on all of the latest and greatest.
00:30:40We want to go to all of the nice fancy restaurants.
00:30:43We want to go ahead and be, you know, putting it on a gram and everything like that
00:30:46and showing people what we got going on.
00:30:48But we are financially out of shape.
00:30:53Some of us continuously live paycheck to paycheck, spending more than what they have coming in.
00:31:00So I get it.
00:31:03So now, here's a question, since we're speaking about being financially out of shape
00:31:10and Mr. Marcus here probably is jacked, physically fit and got it going on on the outside.
00:31:18But then on the inside, everything is all jacked up and messed up.
00:31:22So how can someone prioritize their physical health without compromising their financial well-being?
00:31:30I want you to think about that because it's important.
00:31:34It's important to eat healthy.
00:31:35It's important to stay active.
00:31:38It's important to, you know, take care of ourselves because remember, everything starts with self.
00:31:43If you don't do it, nobody else ain't going to do it.
00:31:45If you don't encourage yourself, nobody else is going to do it.
00:31:48So how can someone prioritize their physical health without compromising their financial well-being?
00:31:55What happens in January?
00:31:57January 1st.
00:31:59Happy New Year.
00:32:00Everyone gives these New Year's resolutions.
00:32:02And probably the first two or three weeks of January, the gyms are crowded.
00:32:09The memberships go up.
00:32:10That's their thing.
00:32:11That's what they do.
00:32:12All of the commercials, everything's physical fitness and slim and trim and all of that great stuff.
00:32:18And then about maybe three weeks in, definitely going into February.
00:32:22And then don't let it hit to Valentine's Day because you know it's over after that.
00:32:26But these people don't go to the gym anymore and they keep these memberships going because they feel great about, you know, having a membership.
00:32:37Well, times that by 11.
00:32:40That's 11 months that you have paid for a gym membership and that money could have been in your bank account.
00:32:50And a lot of people will continuously have these memberships because they think it makes them feel good.
00:32:54And, oh, maybe tomorrow I'm going to go to the gym.
00:32:56Maybe next week I'm going to go to the gym or I'll just keep it going.
00:32:59Some of them don't even know how much is coming out of their bank account because they just added to their credit card and they just have a bunch of credit card debt and they have no idea what's going on.
00:33:08So you can be physically fit and prioritize your physical health by doing activities outside.
00:33:15I don't think you necessarily need a gym.
00:33:17Maybe you can work out at home.
00:33:18That's the first thing that you can do.
00:33:19I know I wasn't going to get a gym membership, but I love to be out in nature.
00:33:25I love to walk.
00:33:25I love to hike.
00:33:26And I'm not saying that that level of activity is going to be comparable to what you can get in the gym, but it's definitely a start.
00:33:34If you go to certain parks, they have the pull-up bars where you can go ahead and do your pull-ups.
00:33:42You can do your sit-ups.
00:33:44There's all types of things that you can get out in nature.
00:33:46That's why I believe that you should be in some good environments where you can be outside.
00:33:50Definitely not in some cold climates.
00:33:55So for me personally, I strive to be in areas where I can stay active most of the year.
00:34:00Like right now, I'm in my element in New Jersey because it's starting to straighten up outside.
00:34:05But six months out of 12, I'm not necessarily happy about that, but I'm okay with it for right now at this moment.
00:34:13So what else do we have out there?
00:34:17Anybody out there, if you know there's anything that someone can do to stay physically fit without compromising their financial stability, drop it in the comments to let me know.
00:34:31So active, walking, running, jogging, hitting up some of those parks that have the pull-up bars.
00:34:40Here's one thing that I would have to say for Mr. Marcus and anybody else out there.
00:34:45Do you even know what's on your credit card bill?
00:34:49Do you know how many subscriptions you have?
00:34:51Because the gym is just one example.
00:34:54I was coaching someone and we went through this app.
00:35:01And I said, try this app.
00:35:03Put this app on your phone and the app will tell you how many subscriptions you have.
00:35:10And when you look at this app and you see how many subscriptions you have, maybe it'll tell you a story about the ones you forgot.
00:35:18So now there's a couple things that are wrong here.
00:35:20Number one, if you need an app to tell you how many subscriptions that you have, that's a problem.
00:35:26Because again, you don't know where your money is going.
00:35:28You need to know where every single dollar is going.
00:35:32That's number one.
00:35:34Number two, you're paying for it and you had no idea you were paying for it.
00:35:37And when you start to do the math and you times that by 12, think of how much money you will be saving.
00:35:43So I would have to go back to Mr. Marcus and say, do you really know exactly what you have going on?
00:35:49Because I'm sure you might could find some subscriptions.
00:35:51You could find something.
00:35:53You can find some sort of bill or something that's a reoccurring charge that you forgot about.
00:35:59See, this happens most time when people have too much going on in their world, when their environment is cluttered, their email box is cluttered, their cell phone is cluttered with messages, their mind becomes cluttered.
00:36:14Remember, the mind is a terrible thing to waste.
00:36:16So whatever you take on and whatever you put on, if you start to declutter and you start to clean things up in your environment, your finances will become clean as well.
00:36:26You'll start to clean up your finances as well.
00:36:28So that's another way that you can prioritize your health by just starting to clean up your environment, seeing how much money you can save cutting here and there.
00:36:37So therefore, maybe you can stick with that gym membership.
00:36:40I'm not saying that you shouldn't have a gym membership.
00:36:43I'm not saying that you shouldn't have these certain apps.
00:36:45I'm not saying that you shouldn't have the fancy meal plans.
00:36:49Whatever works for you works for you.
00:36:50I can't tell you what works for you works for you and what works for me works for me.
00:36:55But I always tell people during my coaching sessions.
00:37:01If you want to know what the true story is, look at how much money you're spending on food.
00:37:09That might help you as well.
00:37:11Look at how much money you're spending on food.
00:37:15The first sin dealt with food.
00:37:22There's no coincidence here.
00:37:24Now, if that was the first sin that had to deal with food, lack, first of all, it was lack, and then it was food.
00:37:33We ate the fruit.
00:37:33It makes sense that when we look at our finances, when we're going through certain things.
00:37:42I'm telling you, I challenge each and every one of you.
00:37:44When you go back and you look at your finances, go back and look at your biggest expense.
00:37:48Your housing is going to be number one.
00:37:51That's a given.
00:37:51We all have to have some place to live.
00:37:53Number two on the list probably is food.
00:37:57Now, with that being said, do we really need to go to certain restaurants as much as we do?
00:38:03Do we really need to eat and consume as much as we consume?
00:38:07Because that's a whole other thing.
00:38:08And again, I love to eat.
00:38:13I will tell you, I was going through my finances last week, and I was like, wow, you definitely kicked it up a little bit when it came to some of the places you were eating.
00:38:24But again, when you can dig and you can look at that, now we kick into what the next game plan is.
00:38:33It's one thing when you know, but then it's another when you don't know.
00:38:39So if anybody has any other things when it comes to what people can do to prioritize their physical health without compromising their financial well-being, drop it in the comments and let me know.
00:38:51But that's the first thing that comes to mind.
00:38:53And I would say cancel the gym membership if anybody has that and you're not using, especially if you're not going.
00:38:59Now, if you're using it and it makes sense, okay.
00:39:02But then look at your environment.
00:39:04Clean up your environment.
00:39:05If your environment is cluttered, majority of the time your finances are going to be cluttered and you're going to have something in there that you're probably paying for that you really don't need.
00:39:17And you have no idea and you're just paying it and you're just on this vicious wheel, this perpetual wheel going round and round.
00:39:23Swiping and getting charged, you know, automatically and you have no idea.
00:39:30Clean up your environment.
00:39:32You'll be able to clean up your finances.
00:39:34With that being said, I'm going to go ahead and get on to this next segment.
00:39:42Burning questions.
00:39:44If you would like to chime in on tonight's burning question, if you're watching this replay, you can text me at 609-200-1098.
00:39:55Let me know what your responses are.
00:39:58Also, if you have a burning question, just like we're helping Mr. Marcus out here tonight.
00:40:03If you have some sort of scenario, some dilemma, something that you'd like me to dissect here on the show, you can text me or you can email me, info at laryngaines.com.
00:40:13And of course, you know, names have been changed to protect the innocent.
00:40:19Things have been set up, so we won't necessarily say that it's coming for you.
00:40:24This is just to help us, you know, grow and we all end this thing together.
00:40:29So 609-200-1098 is the official 4-1-1 podcast hotline.
00:40:35And again, you can DM me.
00:40:37You can also email me your scenarios as well.
00:40:41Info at laryngaines.com.
00:40:47All right.
00:40:48Burning question for tonight.
00:40:51What is one small physical change you've made that had a big impact on your overall well-being?
00:40:59What is one small physical change you've made that has had a big impact on your overall well-being?
00:41:11Again, I encourage you to answer this.
00:41:14And again, if you may not want to put this in the chat, this is the time for you to reflect with self.
00:41:20Remember, everything starts with self.
00:41:22So this is a good journal prompt as well.
00:41:26You can use these burning questions as journal prompts when you're going through your own, when you're with self, when everything starts with self.
00:41:35When you get with yourself and the podcast is over, take this information and use this as a great journal prompt so that you can continue your work.
00:41:44What is one small physical change you've made that had a big impact on your overall well-being?
00:41:51So for me, I've done a couple different things.
00:41:54And I'm probably going to list something tonight that may not be physical, but it definitely has helped me.
00:41:59And I've been on my journey since 2020.
00:42:02But I'll save that to last.
00:42:04But one small physical change that I've made is that I walk.
00:42:10I'm not going to say every day because this weather here in Jersey has been a little iffy.
00:42:15But I did challenge myself in 2023 to walk every single day, regardless rain, sleet, snow, freezing weather.
00:42:24And I just about made it.
00:42:27I haven't gone one full year where I walked 365 days out of the year and partially is because I don't have the gear for all different seasons.
00:42:39So and then, you know, I had a bunch of different things going on, which is neither here nor there.
00:42:45But that is one thing that I've done is I've increased my walking time.
00:42:50And when I walk, I walk for a very long time.
00:42:56This is not like, oh, you know, two minute walk.
00:42:59I'm out there for at least an hour.
00:43:01And I remember when I was in France.
00:43:04I walked a lot.
00:43:07I walked a lot and I have to get the exact.
00:43:13Mileage down.
00:43:14But I believe if this is correct and I could be wrong, I don't want to say the wrong thing, but I'm just going to say 15 plus miles one day in France.
00:43:30I take this time to connect with nature.
00:43:34I take this time.
00:43:37To get with self.
00:43:39So walking for me is more of a spiritual journey.
00:43:43But again, it also has helped me from a physical aspect as well.
00:43:49I spoke earlier about how I used to be in the fast food drive throughs at least three to four times a day.
00:43:58I spent 25 years in retail.
00:44:01And when I started to make a significant amount of money and they had me traveling all over the place, especially when I became a district manager,
00:44:09it was not foreign for me to go for breakfast.
00:44:15First of all, I would go get Dunkin Donuts every day.
00:44:17So just think about how much money I was spending in food.
00:44:20Dunkin Donuts, number one, I would probably visit them at least one or twice a day.
00:44:24And then, of course, I had lunch at all of them.
00:44:27You name the fast food restaurant, I've tried it.
00:44:30And pretty much breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then sometimes a snack.
00:44:35So you got four times in drive-thru restaurants.
00:44:39And it made it so easy when I became a district manager because I was already always on a road driving around somewhere like crazy.
00:44:46So one thing that I did during a pandemic is I stopped eating fast food.
00:44:51I stopped eating fast food.
00:44:56And once you pull away from fast food, you're not going to crave it anymore.
00:45:01I don't know what they put in it, but there's something in it that once you're hooked on it, you're hooked on it.
00:45:07And you will crave fast food versus regular food.
00:45:11And I remember going to doctors.
00:45:13I went to make sure I got this right because sometimes my words don't flow properly.
00:45:18Anyway, an acupuncturist, there you go.
00:45:23I have it right, an acupuncturist, because I was going through some stuff.
00:45:28And I went to an acupuncturist to try to help me with my attitude and help me with to stop cussing people out.
00:45:39Let's be real.
00:45:41I wasn't looking at the bigger picture.
00:45:43I was still trying to hold on to garbage, and the garbage is what caused me to start cussing people out.
00:45:49So instead of just throwing the garbage out, I decided to try to keep it and go to an acupuncturist so that they can try to help me with my attitude.
00:45:59But like I said, when you know better, you do better.
00:46:03So declutter, clean up your environment, and maybe you won't experience that.
00:46:08So I remember her telling me they had to go through, like, where they check you over.
00:46:16They check your ears, eyes, nose, mouth, everything.
00:46:20And through whatever she checked, she says, I can tell that you eat a lot of fast food.
00:46:24And she said, you really need to stop doing this.
00:46:27And you need to cook more at home because, number one, it's healthier for you.
00:46:32Number two, it tastes better than what you're getting anyway.
00:46:36And we have no idea that it tastes better because we're so hooked to whatever they have, whatever chemicals and stuff that they have going on.
00:46:44So walking is what I've done.
00:46:47I stopped eating fast food.
00:46:49And a big game changer for me was I stopped eating meat.
00:46:53So I stopped eating meat in 2020.
00:46:57And I did that for me because I've always been that type of person who wanted to be a vegetarian.
00:47:04I'm a pescatarian.
00:47:06Today, but I've always have been this person.
00:47:09And every time I got into a relationship, every time I got wrapped up and trapped up with somebody, I started eating meat.
00:47:16Because they were.
00:47:17Because I didn't know who I was.
00:47:19And I was just following along with the plan, doing whatever somebody else was doing so that they would like me.
00:47:26So that they would think that I'm this.
00:47:28So that they would think that I'm that.
00:47:30Deep down inside, that's not what I wanted to sign up for.
00:47:32I wonder why I'm miserable.
00:47:34I wonder why I'm cussing people.
00:47:35I wonder why I'm angry.
00:47:37Because here I am compromising my values for just to be with you.
00:47:41And then remember I said after the two-year mark.
00:47:43But usually you find out between the first time that you met them and to the first three months, they're going to sing you a lullaby.
00:47:49But if you're too busy looking at what you shouldn't be looking at and too busy doing what you shouldn't be doing, you're going to miss the opportunity of them telling you exactly who they are.
00:47:58So that's the first thing I did.
00:48:03I said, okay, so now that we made this decision that we're going to be single for a minute, we're going to get back to itself and we're going to understand and know who we are.
00:48:11First thing you're going to do is you're going to stop eating meat because you didn't want to do that anyway.
00:48:16You were just doing that to get along with the get along.
00:48:18And despite the pressure, family looked at me like I was crazy.
00:48:25Really?
00:48:26You don't want to eat meat?
00:48:27Really?
00:48:28You're giving this up?
00:48:29Yeah, I've given this up.
00:48:31I have no problem with it.
00:48:33And here I am five years later doing so well.
00:48:37And when I go for my checkups from a doctor, it's amazing.
00:48:43So not saying that, you know, you should run out there and do that.
00:48:47But if you've been questioning it and thinking about it, maybe you should.
00:48:53Maybe you shouldn't.
00:48:53I don't know.
00:48:54I'm not here to tell you what to do, but I know what worked best for me.
00:48:58And I was probably, okay, I typically weigh about 140, 145 pounds.
00:49:09That's good weight for me.
00:49:11I was close to 165 pounds when I was eating all that fast food.
00:49:16And not being active.
00:49:20I shed it immediately and dropped back down to about 145 pounds.
00:49:27That's what I did.
00:49:29So I would say maybe it wasn't physical, but I did make some decisions that impacted, you know, my physical health.
00:49:38So, yeah, just putting it out there.
00:49:42And, you know, as we go through this and we start speaking about, you know, some of the health benefits, because I do a lot of research now as far as what's good for you and what's not good for you.
00:49:52But I'll definitely tell you this fast food definitely isn't.
00:49:56And I've watched some of these videos on TikTok.
00:50:00And, you know, I know people say things about TikTok, but I've watched some of these videos about what happens with the burgers and the fries when they put them in these chemicals so that they can test it.
00:50:12And it doesn't pan out well, because whatever's happening inside that chemical pretty much is happening inside your stomach.
00:50:19So, yeah, not saying that I don't eat fast food, but I definitely don't eat it as much as I've done.
00:50:25And I went at least a whole full year that I will tell you one full year without fast food because I just got so sick of it because I was eating it, you know, at least four times a day.
00:50:36So. So. There you go. Burning question for tonight.
00:50:42What is one small physical change that you've made that's had a big impact on your overall well-being?
00:50:50You can text me at 609-210-98 if you want to go ahead and respond.
00:50:55And I want to say thank you very much to everyone who has been out there listening tonight.
00:51:00Thank you for coming into Transformational Tuesdays here on a 411 podcast.
00:51:04Please make sure that you like, comment, subscribe, share, tag a friend.
00:51:11Let them know what we have going on here.
00:51:13I would love to hear your response for tonight's burning question.
00:51:17You can also DM me on any of my social media platforms.
00:51:21I am on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, DLive, Twitch, Dailymotion.
00:51:28Now I'm going to pause here because I know I said I was going to bring something towards the end of the show.
00:51:31So I'm not going to name the platform, but there's one platform that banned some of the previous shows.
00:51:40They didn't ban it.
00:51:41They basically hid it so that you would have to sign up before you can watch on this platform.
00:51:47You didn't need to sign in and become a member.
00:51:49And recently they had it set up to where you had to actually sign up in order to view the video.
00:51:57So it wasn't directed due to adult content.
00:52:00So I explained to them that, you know, even though these videos are listed for, you know, mature audiences,
00:52:10I don't think like a 16 year old, a 15 year old is going to be discussing the things that we discuss here.
00:52:17So when they asked me, anyone under 18, I typically say no, because I don't think that they're going to come in.
00:52:26Maybe they are.
00:52:27I have no idea.
00:52:28I don't know who watches, but these are some pretty mature topics that we discuss.
00:52:34And I just didn't think that someone 16, 15, especially 13 will be interested in topics.
00:52:43So because the videos were classified as for 18 and above, they marked it as we're having some really, you know, mature, mature, X-rated type conversations in this podcast.
00:52:59And that is absolutely not it.
00:53:00So I had to go back and forth and have the conversation and say, um, 16 year old is not discussing, you know, family adult issues like this.
00:53:09So that's why. So put it out there that I believe that tables will be turned and, you know, videos will become public again without needing to sign in.
00:53:19There's too many apps. You got to sign in and download this and download that.
00:53:23So many people want me to sign up and bring the podcast on their platforms and I don't have time for that.
00:53:29We got enough right here. Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, T-Live, Twitch, Daily Motion.
00:53:35We're not doing any of that extra stuff right now. Not at this point.
00:53:39You can also listen to the podcast on Spotify, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Audacity.
00:53:48There's so many different platforms out there.
00:53:50The audio version, everything is coming out so nice and more than what I imagined it.
00:53:59So just thank you so much for rocking. Thank you so much for checking me out.
00:54:02Thank you so much for supporting.
00:54:04We are growing and we're getting ready to break so many different barriers.
00:54:09You have no idea. I have no idea, but I'm just ready for it because I think we're positioned properly for some great, amazing things.
00:54:17You can also head on over to Laryngaines.com and sign up for my free monthly newsletter, Whispers of Wisdom.

00:54:33Head on over to Laryngaines.com and go ahead and sign up for that.
00:54:39And also, if there's anything that I sparked in you tonight, you know, just one person.
00:54:44That's my goal to just connect with one person.
00:54:47If there's anything that sparked in you, if you would like to learn more, you can go ahead and head over to Laryngaines.com.
00:54:53You can also text me at 609-200-1098.
00:54:57You can email me info at Laryngaines.com.
00:54:59Do whatever you need to do to reach out, but you can sign up for a free 15-minute consultation.
00:55:05If you are truly interested in this debt-free living thing that I've been speaking about,
00:55:11if you're interested in getting your life together, if you're interested in getting your finances together, reach out to me.
00:55:17We can have a free 15-minute consultation.
00:55:21I do have to apologize.
00:55:22I really have to back down on the coffee that I have been consuming.
00:55:27That's not good when you are going to be broadcasting to be so amped up.
00:55:31I was so amped up last night.
00:55:34It was just too much for me.
00:55:36So I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight because typically after I get off of this show,
00:55:42I'm so amped up and it takes a minute for me to calm down.
00:55:45But head on over and you can get this free 15-minute consultation.
00:55:49And we'll be able to discuss and have some good quality time where we can see if you're a good fit.
00:55:57Apply to see if you qualify.
00:55:59And when I say apply to see if you qualify, this program is not for everybody.
00:56:03And I am not in no get-rich-quick scheme.
00:56:06I'm not here to sell somebody a dream.
00:56:08I personally do not want you to sign up if you're not serious about this because it would be a waste of your time and a waste of my time.
00:56:15And I know that at the end of the day is time is more valuable than money.
00:56:19So I don't want your money if it's going to waste my time because my time is more valuable than any money.
00:56:25So me sitting there coaching and going back and forth with somebody who's not serious about it, who's not going to stick with it,
00:56:33who's going to drop out when things get too tough and things get too heavy,
00:56:38and they don't want to face the fact that they are in an overly consuming environment, an overly consuming mentality.
00:56:47And they're not really done with the credit cards.
00:56:50They're not really done with buy now, pay now, whatever you call it.
00:56:56If they're not really done with shopping on Amazon Prime,
00:57:00they're not really done with hitting up all of the restaurants and the fast food,
00:57:04then don't even waste my time.
00:57:05Don't even waste your time because that's all that it would be.
00:57:10But if you have hit rock bottom, if you are just sick and tired of being sick and tired,
00:57:15if you can't stand the thought of the version of your old self, like I can't stand the version of my old self,
00:57:22can't stand it.
00:57:23And for those of you who didn't like me back then, guess what I didn't like?
00:57:25I don't like that version either.
00:57:27So we both on the same team.
00:57:30That's the person who's going to succeed from that.
00:57:33That's the person who's going to get that breakthrough moment.
00:57:35When you say there has got to be more to life than this.
00:57:38Shout out to Mary J. Blige.
00:57:39There has got to be more to life than this.
00:57:45Head on over.
00:57:47Laryngaines.com.
00:57:48Sign up for that free 15-minute consultation for Black Diamond Consultations.
00:57:52That free 15-minute consultation.
00:57:54And we can go ahead and hopefully make some breakthroughs here.
00:57:59I'm going to go ahead and check out this comment here before we go ahead and get out of here.
00:58:06Never mind.
00:58:08You can go ahead and keep your spam.
00:58:10We're not going to deal with that.
00:58:11You know, I also like used to get a little concerned when it comes to spam.
00:58:15But sometimes when you get a lot of spam messages and things like that, that means that you're hitting different heights too.
00:58:23So, it's all good.
00:58:24Shout out to the spammers too.
00:58:26We need you too to make us go around.
00:58:30Thank you so much.
00:58:31Now, tomorrow, Wind Down Wednesday.
00:58:35Special.
00:58:37Got something special for you tomorrow.
00:58:38We have Arthur Birdman313 coming in.
00:58:41He's been a friend of the show.
00:58:42He's been on last, what was it, last couple months ago?
00:58:45March.
00:58:46He was on as a special guest as well.
00:58:48So, go ahead and watch that replay.
00:58:50This is going to be his like fourth time coming on.
00:58:53He has signed up to be a reoccurring guest.
00:58:56He is part of the mentorship series as well.
00:58:59So, you'll get to talk to Birdman.
00:59:01A lot of you can ask him questions and speak to him directly as he's going to be on as a guest reoccurring week after week after week right here.
00:59:09So, I'm so excited about that.
00:59:11I'm so excited about the guests that are going to come in and be reoccurring.
00:59:16And so, you know that every Wednesday, same place, same time, you can listen to me and Birdman chop it up and go back and forth.
00:59:25Same time, Thursday, week after week after week, you get to hear me and SOS go back and forth.
00:59:33So, that's what this is about.
00:59:35And it's about this community building effect that is getting ready to just go to new heights.
00:59:39So, tomorrow, author, Birdman313, Wine Down Wednesday.
00:59:45I got some wine to be sampling tomorrow.
00:59:48I have a book review tomorrow, which I'm going to, you know, drop some gems.
00:59:53Same thing.
00:59:54We've been speaking about this debt-free living program.
00:59:56So, you're going to get some great information tomorrow.
01:00:00So, you don't want to miss it.
01:00:02Same place, same time.
01:00:03We'll see you tomorrow.
01:00:04Thank you so much to everybody out there who has been checking us out, listening, rock and rolling with us.
01:00:10Please like, comment, share, subscribe, tag a friend.
01:00:13Thank you so much.
01:00:14I will see you when I see you.
01:00:17You have a wonderful evening.
01:00:18Good night, y'all.
01:00:19Good night.
01:00:49Good night.
01:00:50Good night.
01:01:19Good night.
01:01:20Good night.
01:01:49Good night.
