Today, Rupert and Bill make a special delivery in Rupert and the Nutwood Fair.
00:16
There's a little bear, like you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.
00:23
Children everywhere, so they love him more and more, he's the number one.
00:30
There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done, and he's going to share them all with you, so come along.
00:44
Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.
00:50
Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
00:56
It's the first day of Rupert's holiday, and Mrs. Bear is reading his school report.
01:10
I'm glad to see you're making good progress, Rupert. Daddy will be pleased.
01:17
Well, I do try, Mummy.
01:19
Yes, I'm sure.
01:21
But now you're on holiday, and the fair is on in Nutwood.
01:24
Why don't you go and enjoy yourself?
01:35
Rupert lands his chariot and sees his chums, Bill Badger, Hodgie Pig and Margot at the entrance to the fair.
01:42
Wait for me, calls Rupert.
01:45
I didn't think you were coming, says Margot.
01:49
Once inside the fairground, Hodgie spots the ice cream man.
01:53
Oh, look, let's have one of these before we start.
01:56
Oh, come on, Hodgie, we can have ice cream any day.
02:02
Where shall we go first, then, inquires Bill.
02:06
What about the helter-skelter?
02:09
That's where we slide down a windy slope on a mat, isn't it, says Hodgie, coming back with a large ice cream.
02:16
That's right, it's great.
02:18
Let's go, says Rupert.
02:19
Bill is the first at the top of the helter-skelter.
02:29
Here I go, he shouts.
02:32
Whee, it's lovely.
02:35
My turn now.
02:37
Look out, Bill, I'm coming down, calls Margot.
02:40
Right, see you at the bottom, Hodgie.
02:43
I'm off.
02:43
Bill and Margot are waiting as Rupert finishes his ride.
02:50
That was super.
02:53
What's happened to Hodgie, says Rupert, looking up.
02:57
But poor Hodgie is stuck halfway down.
03:01
He tries hard to free himself, but can't move.
03:04
Help, help, he cries.
03:08
That'll teach Hodgie to eat so much, laughs Bill.
03:11
Hold on to the sides, and try and work yourself free, suggests Rupert.
03:17
Hurry up, we want our go, shout the children.
03:22
Hodgie tries to get free again.
03:25
Come on, have another try, calls Rupert once more.
03:30
Suddenly, Hodgie slides down the helter-skelter, and lands at the bottom.
03:37
Poor old Hodgie, are you hurt, asks Rupert.
03:42
Bruised all over, I should think.
03:44
Never try and slide down one of those things again, Hodgie, says Bill.
03:49
What's next, Rupert?
03:51
Oh, I know.
03:53
Let's try our skill at the coconut shy, says Margot.
03:56
I don't think I've got any strength left, but I'll try, says Hodgie.
04:02
It's not very hard.
04:04
The man will let us go halfway, I expect, explains Rupert.
04:07
Come on, then.
04:08
Don't let's waste any more time.
04:11
Rupert and his chums get to the coconut shy, only to find the man sitting on a chair, looking miserable.
04:18
Hello, says Rupert cheerfully.
04:20
May we have a try at knocking one of your coconuts down?
04:24
Look, he says, pointing to the empty stands.
04:28
I haven't got one for you to knock down.
04:30
Where are the coconuts, then?
04:33
Asks Rupert.
04:35
It's the deliveries.
04:36
They don't seem to come on time.
04:38
Once I didn't have any for a week.
04:41
Perhaps if we come back later, they'll have arrived, suggests Rupert.
04:44
Come on, let's look round.
04:47
Have fun at the fair, says the man.
04:49
See you all later, then.
04:51
Rupert and his chums are looking at the roundabout.
04:55
What about going on that?
04:57
Oh, yes, Rupert, I love roundabouts, replies Bill excitedly.
05:03
Oh, not for me.
05:04
They make me feel dizzy, laughs Margot.
05:07
Me, too.
05:09
We'll go on the swings, then, and meet you and Bill later, says Margot.
05:16
Rupert and Bill arrive at the roundabout
05:18
and get into the cockpit of a wooden aeroplane.
05:21
Rupert sits in front.
05:23
Are you in, Bill?
05:25
Yes, thanks, Rupert.
05:27
Here we go.
05:29
We're off.
05:30
Fasten your seatbelts, calls Rupert, laughing.
05:33
It's super.
05:35
Oh, dear.
05:36
I haven't got one.
05:38
You're joking, aren't you?
05:41
Anyway, I'm glad you're the pilot.
05:43
I...
05:44
As the roundabout begins to turn,
05:46
the little aeroplane takes off.
05:50
Rupert, what's happening?
05:52
We really are flying,
05:53
shouts Bill, very surprised.
05:55
I don't know, but hang on tight.
05:58
Instead of going round,
06:00
we're going up,
06:02
says Bill worriedly.
06:04
The plane left the roundabout at the fair
06:06
and now is zooming through the air.
06:09
Rupert and Bill fly for a while,
06:11
then down below see a desert isle.
06:14
Look, it's Robinson Crusoe's island
06:17
and we're going down towards it.
06:20
They land when it's safe to do so
06:22
and are met by Robinson Crusoe.
06:26
Did you know that Bill and I would visit you?
06:29
asks Rupert.
06:29
Yes, I've been expecting you all the morning,
06:33
replies Robinson Crusoe.
06:35
Why?
06:36
The deliveries of coconuts haven't been on time,
06:38
have they?
06:39
No, the man at the coconut shy is waiting for his now.
06:43
We couldn't have a go,
06:44
but he told us to come back later,
06:46
explains Rupert.
06:48
Exactly.
06:49
Now, listen carefully.
06:51
I want you to take these sacks of coconuts
06:53
back with you to the fair
06:54
and give them to the man on the shy,
06:56
urges Robinson Crusoe.
06:58
Shall we tell him where they came from?
07:01
No, Bill.
07:02
That's our little secret.
07:04
I understand.
07:05
We'll start loading them.
07:07
They stack the coconuts into the aeroplane.
07:13
These should keep the man happy.
07:15
Oh, we'll be able to have a try
07:17
at knocking one down when we get back, Rupert,
07:21
puffs Bill as he picks up the last sack.
07:23
Look, that's the lot.
07:24
You can take off now,
07:26
suggests Robinson Crusoe.
07:28
Before we go,
07:29
I'd like to give you this,
07:31
says Rupert.
07:32
How did you know I wanted a mug?
07:34
I only broke mine this morning.
07:36
It slipped out of my hand.
07:38
Oh, thanks, Rupert.
07:40
I won it on the hoopla.
07:42
Rupert and Bill climb into the aeroplane
07:44
while Robinson stands watching them.
07:47
See you soon.
07:48
Take care of the mug,
07:50
says Rupert,
07:50
and the little aeroplane rises into the air.
07:53
Hold on tight.
07:59
We're coming down at the back of the coconut shye.
08:03
Rupert and Bill land,
08:05
and the man sees them.
08:07
We've brought you a load of coconuts for your shye,
08:09
says Rupert.
08:10
Oh, you are good,
08:12
replies the man,
08:13
who's delighted to see so many nuts.
08:16
Rupert, Bill, and the man
08:17
begin to unload the sacks.
08:19
That's the lot.
08:27
We must be going now,
08:28
says Rupert.
08:29
Rupert and Bill fly over to the roundabout
08:32
just as the music stops.
08:34
There's no trace of them ever having left.
08:35
There's Margot and Pudgy.
08:38
Let's go and join them,
08:39
says Rupert, clambering off.
08:41
Where did you get those coconuts from, you two?
08:43
Asks Margot.
08:45
Oh, well, um...
08:46
Well, the coconut shye, of course,
08:48
replies Rupert.
08:50
Raggedy comes towards them.
08:52
What are you doing here, Raggedy?
08:54
Looking for some juicy tent bowls to eat.
08:57
See many, says Raggedy.
08:59
What's that in your hand?
09:01
A coconut.
09:03
I know.
09:03
Why don't you come home with us
09:05
and you can nibble through the shell,
09:06
suggests Rupert.
09:08
It looks a bit hairy.
09:09
I might choke, replies Raggedy.
09:12
Bill's got a nut too.
09:14
You could have two shells.
09:15
They'll last you for ages,
09:17
encourages Rupert.
09:19
Oh, all right then.
09:21
I'd like to come too, Rupert,
09:23
adds Pudgy.
09:24
I love coconuts.
09:27
Let's all go to my house to tea.
09:33
Did you spend all your money, dear?
09:34
Asks Mrs. Bear.
09:36
No, not quite.
09:37
But look what I've got.
09:39
Did you win that?
09:41
No, I had it given to me.
09:42
He's promised to let me nibble the shell,
09:45
says Raggedy.
09:46
Splendid.
09:47
Then you won't eat my wooden spoon,
09:49
laughs Mrs. Bear.
09:50
I had one given to me too,
09:53
says Bill.
09:54
Raggedy begins to nibble Rupert's coconut.
09:57
Look, he's eating the nut as well as the shell,
10:00
Mrs. Bear, says Pudgy.
10:02
Yes, and it's nice.
10:04
Where's yours?
10:05
screams Raggedy.
10:07
Now let me divide the two nuts among you,
10:10
says Mrs. Bear.
10:11
Then there will be a peace for everyone.
10:20
Rupert, Rupert de Bel,
10:35
everyone's in his name.
10:38
Rupert, Rupert de Bel,
10:42
everyone's come and join in all of his games.
