00:00Today, Rupert visits the witch in Rupert and the Bedoozleman.

00:16There's a little bear that you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told, all the things that he's done.

00:36And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.

00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

00:56Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, Rupert is enjoying a nice swing in the sunshine, when his mother calls him from the kitchen.

01:10Rupert, says Mrs. Bear, can you come here a minute?

01:15Yes, Mummy, says Rupert, getting off the swing.

01:19Ah, there you are.

01:21I think you ought to take these boots to the bootmenders, dear.

01:24They must be letting in water.

01:27Yes, all right, Mummy.

01:28And the ones I've got on won't last much longer, either, he says, taking the boots.

01:33They'll take a couple of days, I expect.

01:36You'd better go straight away before the shop shuts.

01:39Hello, Rupert, says Pudgy Pig at the back door.

01:42Pudgy, I know I invited you to tea, but you're a bit early.

01:49Says Pudgy, eyeing the freshly made cakes.

01:52Yes, you can come with me to the bootmenders first.

01:57I must make some scones now, says Mrs. Bear, looking for the flower.

02:02Rupert and Pudgy are hurrying over the common, when they catch sight of Raggedy's back view.

02:34As the three of them watch, the little man stops dancing and tries to jump off the ground.

02:52I'm Rupert Bear, and this is Pudgy and Raggedy.

03:02Isn't it obvious to a duck with his head in the sand what I'm doing?

03:07Least ways I'm trying to, he adds sadly.

03:10P-B-Doozaling, exclaims Raggedy, feeling braver now.

04:01I had the great misfortune to collide with an old witch in midair.

04:09She put a spell on me so that I couldn't bedoosal anymore once I'd landed.

04:15Well, I'd lost sight of the rainbow by that time and I couldn't go on flying forever.

04:20So I landed here to enjoy myself.

04:23But I miss the old rain and me friends.

04:27I want to go home.

04:29We could go and see the witch and get her to take the spell off.

04:33But how can you?

04:35It's a long way and you can't bedoosal.

04:38Oh, I've got a magic chariot, explains Rupert.

04:41I don't like witches much.

04:43I think I'll stay and keep you company, says Raggedy to the little man.

04:47You'll come, won't you, Pudgy?

04:48Um, uh, all right.

04:52He's none too keen either.

04:54Oh, that's a great old vehicle, exclaims the little man, admiring the chariot.

05:00But how will we find the witch?

05:02How?

05:03How?

05:04The chariot's magic, isn't it?

05:06They'll just take off, of course.

05:07The chariot is travelling over the trees, over the common with the northerly breeze, through

05:15thunder and lightning and cold, cold air, till Pudgy and Rupert wish they were there.

05:21Long the mountainy ridge and the bare trees they follow, until they come down in a dark,

05:27dark hollow.

05:27Here we are, Pudgy.

05:30This must be where the witch lives.

05:32In that cave over there.

05:37Do you think I could stay here and look after the chariot for you, Rupert?

05:41No, Pudgy.

05:42I might need some help persuading the witch.

05:44Come on.

05:45The witch is having a snooze by her fire when the chums enter.

05:50She's asleep, Rupert.

05:52Let's go.

05:56Starts the witch, shaken out of her slumber.

05:58Oh, you gave me a start.

06:01Please, we're sorry to disturb you, but we've come to ask if you can do something for us.

06:07Well, I like to think I'm a help for a witch.

06:10I'll do what I can.

06:11You see, we met a man who says he came from over the water.

06:16But while he was flying through the air, he bumped into you, and...

06:20Ah, the bedoosal man.

06:22Yes, I remember.

06:24I'm not doing anything to help him.

06:26He made me drop my special mixing stick.

06:29I'm lost without it.

06:31No, definitely not.

06:33But please.

06:35Anyway, I can't take the spell off without mixing a spell.

06:39And I've got no stick.

06:41So there.

06:43Well, can we find it for you then?

06:46Asks Rupert.

06:47Oh, I know where it is, but I can't reach it.

06:51It fell down between the rocky crags.

06:55But there's not room to fly my broomstick between them.

06:59We won't be able to get there in the chariot then, will we, Rupert?

07:03Not in the chariot, but out of it.

07:06Ah, if you could just lend us a rope and tell us where the rocky crags are.

07:12The rocky crags don't look very inviting.

07:16And right down the bottom is the mixing stick.

07:18Now, you hover here in the chariot and hang on to the rope, Pudgy, says Rupert, tying one end of the rope round himself.

07:27Oh, oh no, Rupert, it's not safe.

07:30I might fall out.

07:31Oh, Pudgy, you're doing the easy part, he laughs.

07:34Rupert has tied the other end round the steering wheel and starts to lower himself over the side.

07:42Oh, you're rocking the chariot, squeals Pudgy.

07:45Just hang on.

07:47I'm going down now.

07:51Rupert slides carefully down the rope, while Pudgy above holds on tight.

07:57The mixing stick now is within his grope.

08:00Oh, careful, please, Rupert, cries Pudgy in fright.

08:03I'm coming up now, calls Rupert, who has the precious stick.

08:08He ties it onto the rope and starts the journey back.

08:13Oh, ee, ee, ee, ee, wails Pudgy.

08:16I'll be glad when we get home.

08:19The witch is very pleased to see her mixing stick again and gets to work right away.

08:25Borrowday moss and caraway seed, mix it together, that's what we need, sings the witch happily.

08:32Now, all you have to do is sprinkle this powder on the bedoosal man and the spell will be broken.

08:39Back on the common, Raggedy is learning a new dance when Rupert and Bill fly down.

08:44Rupert sprinkles the spell-breaking powder on the bedoosal man.

08:49Now you'll be all right again, he says.

08:52The little man holds his hat.

08:55Woo-hoo, he yells, making Pudgy jump.

08:59Bedoosal, I can bedoosal.

09:01Oh, thank you, thank you, I can go home.

09:07Rupert suddenly remembers he was supposed to be on his way to the bootmenders.

09:12Oh, dear, they'll be shut now, he sighs.

09:16What? Who will be? What ails you?

09:18I should have got to the bootmenders before closing time, Rupert explains.

09:22No trouble, me dear, says the little man, taking out a hammer and grabbing the boots.

09:29Aren't I best bootmaker in the West?

09:32A tap and a wrap, a heel and a toe, your boots are done and off I go.

09:36Bedoosal!

09:37He's in the air and off, leaving the astonished three staring after him.

09:42Mrs. Bear has just finished her cooking when Rupert and Pudgy return.

09:50Rupert, you were supposed to leave those boots at the menders, she exclaims.

09:56But they're done already, Mummy.

09:58Yes, and very good too, agrees Pudgy.

10:02Oh, yes, they are, aren't they?

10:05I'll send you with mine tomorrow.

10:08But the bedoosal man did these, and he won't be there tomorrow.

10:15Bootmenders repair boots.
