Today, Rupert, with the help of Crow, makes a discovery in Rupert and the Buried Silver.
00:16
There's a little bear that you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.
00:23
Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.
00:30
There's a million stories to be told, all the things that he's done.
00:36
And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.
00:43
Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.
00:50
Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
00:56
In all of his name.
01:00
Mrs. Bear is taking the curtains down in the kitchen.
01:09
What are you doing with those? asks Rupert.
01:12
I thought I'd start my spring cleaning, dear.
01:16
Shall I help you?
01:17
Well, as it's your half term, why not go on a picnic? It's a lovely day.
01:24
Oh, super. I'll telephone Pudgy Pig and see what he's doing.
01:28
Yes, dear, says Mrs. Bear getting down.
01:31
And I'll make you some sandwiches.
01:33
While Mrs. Bear is busy cutting the bread, Rupert is telephoning his friend.
01:40
Yes, Pudgy can come, but his cousin Rosalie is spending her half term with him, so she'll have to come too.
01:47
Oh, we've arranged to meet at the lone tree on the common.
01:51
I'll get it.
01:54
Rupert opens the back door, and Bill Badger is standing on the step.
01:58
Why, hello, Bill. I'm going for a picnic with Pudgy and Rosalie. Want to come?
02:04
Oh, yes, please, Rupert.
02:06
What a good job I've made enough for two, laughs Mrs. Bear.
02:11
Rosalie and Pudgy Pig are eating sweets and waiting by the lone tree.
02:16
Hello, you two. Started the picnic already, asks Rupert.
02:21
How are we all going to get into the chariot, asks Pudgy.
02:25
We're not. We're walking.
02:27
I'm leaving the chariot here, explains Rupert.
02:30
They leave the chariot and set out to walk.
02:34
But Rosalie still keeps up the talk.
02:36
And so their journey is not so fleet, as she keeps complaining of her feet.
02:42
Oh, my poor feet hurt, she sighs.
02:47
We'll have a rest, then.
02:49
You shouldn't have brought her. She's a pest when we go out, says Bill.
02:54
Don't speak to me like that, Bill Badger.
02:57
I'm not a pest.
02:58
My feet hurt, and I'm hungry, and I'm going to have a snack, moans Rosalie.
03:04
There's a fallen tree trunk over there. Let's rest a while.
03:09
The chums sit on the tree trunk, talking,
03:12
When suddenly, Rupert hears twigs crackling under heavy footsteps.
03:16
A man comes towards them.
03:19
What are you all doing here?
03:21
Asks the man in a gruff, angry voice.
03:24
Only resting, sir, replies Rupert.
03:27
Well, now, isn't that nice?
03:31
He pauses, and then shouts.
03:34
This is my land. Get off.
03:37
Oh, Margie, I'm frightened.
03:39
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know we were trespassing.
03:43
But we'll go straight away.
03:45
Rupert and the chums leave hurriedly.
03:49
Look, there's Stan, and he's beckoning to us, says Rupert.
03:53
Let's see what he wants.
03:55
Hello, Stan.
03:57
A man shouted at us just now.
03:59
Do you know who he is?
04:01
Yes, his name's Grant, and he's bought a farm just here, explains Stan.
04:06
Would you and your friends like to come over to my house for a rest?
04:11
Oh, thank you, Stan.
04:12
Oh, yes, and I can sit down.
04:16
My feet hurt.
04:18
Rupert and his chums follow Stan into the next field.
04:23
The house is very odd-looking.
04:26
It's partly an old cottage and partly a railway carriage.
04:30
I do like your house, Stan.
04:37
It's very cosy, remarks Rupert.
04:40
Yes, I like it too.
04:42
But that Mr. Grant wants me out.
04:45
However, this piece of ground belongs to me.
04:49
Oh, that's lucky.
04:50
He can't do anything to hurt you, then.
04:52
After a while, Rosalie tells them that she has rested her feet and wants to go.
04:57
Do come again, says Stan.
05:00
At last, they find somewhere for their picnic.
05:05
Mrs. Bear makes smashing sandwiches, Rupert.
05:09
Poggy and I have got banana ones.
05:13
When they finish their picnic, Poggy and Rosalie decide to go a different way home.
05:18
But Rupert and Bill have to fetch the chariot.
05:19
Suddenly, Rupert stops.
05:25
Listen, Bill.
05:27
Can you hear voices?
05:29
Yes.
05:30
Who is it?
05:32
One of them is Mr. Grant, anyway.
05:34
Shh!
05:35
Let's hear what they're saying.
05:37
I'd never have buried the stuff there if I'd known that old chap was going to live in that railway carriage.
05:42
We'll have to get him out of the way.
05:45
Hey, Bill.
05:46
They must be talking about Stan, exclaims Rupert.
05:49
Let's go and tell him.
05:51
They find Stan sitting outside his door.
05:55
Well, well.
05:55
I didn't expect you back so soon.
05:57
Why are you...
05:58
Sorry to interrupt you, Stan, remarks Rupert.
06:00
But we've got something very important to tell you.
06:03
It's about that horrible Mr. Grant, chimes in Bill.
06:07
What about him?
06:09
He hasn't been chasing you again, has he?
06:11
Oh, nothing like that.
06:13
Hold on, Bill.
06:14
Let me tell Stan.
06:16
Rupert explains the conversation that he and Bill overheard in the bushes.
06:19
Hmm.
06:22
I'd like to know what Grant means by getting me out the way.
06:31
Crow appears and hovers round Rupert.
06:34
What do you want, Crow?
06:36
Asks Rupert.
06:40
Hey, look.
06:41
He's trying to tell us something.
06:47
Rupert, Bill and Stan walk over to where Crow is located.
06:49
He's flapping his wings.
06:51
Right.
06:52
We're here now.
06:53
What is it?
07:00
Look.
07:00
He's gone over to that spade.
07:03
I think he wants us to dig here.
07:06
Oh, Rupert.
07:07
I wonder why.
07:12
Rupert begins to dig with Crow looking on.
07:14
Rupert.

07:27

07:29
Let's get it out.
07:31
Quick, Bill.
07:32
Help us with this.
07:32
It's heavy.
07:34
I wonder what's inside.
