00:00Today, Rupert helps Willy Wisp put a rainbow together, in Rupert and the Rainbow.

00:15There's a little bear like you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done, and he's gonna share

00:38them all with you, so come along.

00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

00:51Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.

00:56Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, in all of his name.

01:00The inventor has dropped in for a cup of tea.

01:07He's so happy and excited.

01:11It works, it really works!

01:12He shouts, waving his cup wildly.

01:16Yes, yes, I'm sure it works, says Mrs. Bear.

01:19What does? asks Rupert.

01:22Why, my weather machine, of course. I can control the weather.

01:27What do you mean? asks Mr. Bear.

01:30Well, for example, I can make it sunny on a rainy day and rainy on a sunny day.

01:36Please, can I see it? Please, please.

01:42The greatest invention of all time, chuckles the inventor, tapping the strange box lovingly.

01:50Let's go and see what kind of weather the farmer would like.

01:55The farmer is not sure.

01:58Seasons come and seasons go. I don't hold with messing about with nature, he says, shaking his head.

02:05Yes, yes, I know, cries the inventor. But what would you like?

02:10Well, I could do with a drop of rain for them seedlings, says the farmer thoughtfully.

02:15But I don't hold with this sort of lark.

02:16The inventor sets up his machine.

02:22Mummy's got all the washing on the line, protests Rupert.

02:25I'm sure she'd like it to stay fine.

02:28Don't see no rain, says the farmer.

02:31Oh, my machine! My beautiful machine!

02:39I'd best go and save my seedlings.

02:42Has it blown a fuse?

02:44No, it's ruined forever.

02:47But it's given me an idea.

02:58Rupert! Rupert!

03:00He waves.

03:03Hello, Bill! Hello, Edward!

03:06We've been looking everywhere for you, Rupert.

03:09It's most extraordinary.

03:11It's raining at your house, but it's sunny everywhere else, says Edward.

03:16Your mother is cross, says Bill.

03:20Her washing is wetter than before she began.

03:23I know, sighs Rupert.

03:26The inventor invented a weather machine, but it went wrong.

03:30Really?

03:31Maybe he should invent a new sort of umbrella instead, suggests Bill.

03:35Or a washing machine that washes clothes dry, chuckles Edward.

03:40Come and play. I've got my cricket bat. You can have first go, he continues.

03:46I'll be wicked, says Bill.

03:50Ready? Play!

03:53Edward bowls.

03:55How's that? cries Bill triumphantly.

03:59Oh, Rupert! cries Edward reproachfully.

04:02You weren't looking.

04:04But look! Look!

04:07Rupert points up.

04:08Oh, it's only a rainbow. Let's get on with the game.

04:13There's something odd about it, though.

04:15But what is it?

04:17I know!

04:19The red is missing, cries Bill.

04:22So it is! I wonder why.

04:25But Edward has an explanation.

04:28I dare say the inventor is at the bottom of it all, he declares firmly.

04:33Anyway, it's fading.

04:34Now, are we or are we not going to play cricket?

04:38Rupert is sound asleep when Willy Wisp drops in.

04:47Hey, Rupert! Rupert, wake up!

04:50What? What?

04:51Oh, it's not time for school yet.

04:56Quick, get up and get dressed. I need your help.

04:59What exactly do you want me to do?

05:02Rupert goes to the window and sees a shooting star.

05:05Oh, that's pretty.

05:06Yes, but you see its tail.

05:09It's got a red one.

05:11That's right. And that's what it shouldn't have.

05:13I think your lost rainbow colour has got tangled in its tail by mistake.

05:18Come on, Rupert. Hop into your chariot and we'll take a look.

05:21Off we go, Rupert.

05:29But my chariot can't go that far, nor that fast.

05:34Then I'll make it, says Willy.

05:36Hold on tight.

05:41Navigator to pilot. There it is, straight ahead, cries Willy.

05:45Pilot, navigator, coming in. Stand by.

05:49Oh, dear me. You almost singed my nose.

05:56I'm most awfully sorry, says Rupert.

05:59We didn't mean to hurt you.

06:01I'm sure you didn't mean to.

06:04Have you come for the bow on my tail?

06:08It makes me whiz all over the sky.

06:13I've lost all control since it became caught in my tail.

06:19That's what we're here for, says Willy importantly.

06:22Oh, good.

06:25If you could try and remain steady as you go, we'll try and untangle you.

06:30Throw a rope, Rupert, and hook your chariot onto one of the star's points.

06:35Rupert throws.

06:37Good shot.

06:38Oh, stop, heiggles the star.

06:43You're tickling me.

06:45Oh, keep steady, please.

06:47You're rocking the chariot, says Rupert in alarm.

06:51You grab that end, Rupert, shouts Willy.

06:53And I'll grab this, and we'll both pull together.

06:57Hold tight, says the star.

07:01Ready, steady, go.

07:04Rupert and Willy tug with all their might.

07:11The star shoots one way, and Rupert and Willy the other.

07:24The star's coming back, cries Rupert.

07:27And still clutching the bow colour, they drop thankfully back into the chariot.

07:42Oh, thank you.

07:52I feel much better now, says the star happily.

07:57Perhaps you would care to accompany me on a guided tour of the galaxy.

08:02I'm sure you would find it very interesting.

08:06Rupert doesn't have to be asked twice.

08:09Yes, please.

08:10We'd love to.

08:11Hurry, hurry, hurry, for the great mystery trip tonight.

08:15For a conducted tour of the galaxy at twice the speed of light.

08:19Leaving the king planet, that's the sun, not wanting a roasting before it's begun.

08:24Please fasten your safety belts, and hold on very tight.

08:28For just around this corner, and Mercury's in sight.

08:31Venus, the goddess of love is here, the one all mortals hold so dear, the first to come, and last to go, piercing the darkness with her glow.

08:46Let's bypass Earth, and on to Mars, the nearest neighbour amongst the stars.

08:52Jupiter is next, the giant of them all, which makes the planet Earth look so very, very small.

08:59Rocketing past Saturn, with its golden rings of dust, so on to frozen Uranus, and yet further go we must.

09:08To see the sea god Neptune fishing in the sky, a quick glance round lonely Pluto, and homeward bound we fly.

09:17We've orbited the galaxy, the mystery tour is done, we've travelled the celestial heavens, and hasn't it been fun?

09:26And it's time I took you home, Rupert.

09:29Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, Rupert.

09:37Wake up, you sleepyhead.

09:39Anyone would think you'd been up all night.

09:42But I have, Mummy.

09:44Oh, and where have you been?

09:46Round the universe?

09:48How did you guess?

09:50You may be a little bare, but you certainly have a big imagination.

09:55Oh, look, come quickly, come and see.

09:59Rupert joins her at the window.

10:01I've never in my whole life seen one red bow in the sky.

10:07Oh, it's just part of the rainbow we brought back.

10:10Where's the rest of it, then?

10:12Look, there it is, cries Rupert happily.

10:17And he tells her all about it.
