00:00Today, Rupert goes on a treasure hunt, and finds Mr. Grimnasty in Rupert and the Croc of Gold.

00:16There's a little bear that you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done, and he's going to share them all with you, so come along.

00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

00:51Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.

00:57Rupert, Rupert, Bill's here, calls Mrs. Bear.

01:15Come quick, look, there's a rainbow, shouts Bill excitedly.

01:20Oh, isn't it beautiful, says Mrs. Bear, looking up.

01:24Did you know that in the olden days, people used to believe that there was a Croc of Gold buried at the end of every rainbow?

01:30Wizardy-whiz, exclaims Rupert.

01:34Come on, Bill, let's go and find it.

01:37Mummy, can we borrow the spades?

01:39All right, but mind you bring them back, and good luck with your treasure hunt.

01:43Bye, shout Rupert and Bill cheerfully as they shoulder their spades.

01:50Goodbye.

01:50I can see it, I can see where it ends, shouts Bill.

01:58Look, right by that bush.

02:01But by the time they reach it, the rainbow has faded completely away.

02:06It ended just here, says Bill firmly, and he starts to dig.

02:10Hello, says Podgey, hurrying up.

02:14What are you doing?

02:16We're digging for the Croc of Gold, pants Rupert.

02:22Dig, dig, dig, dig, Rupert and Bill, for digging is fun if you dig with a will.

02:28They dig with a will and with all of their might, and Podgey sees them slowly sink out of sight.

02:35Earth flies up and spatters all around, as they dig deeper into the ground.

02:42Podgey peers down into the hole, just as there's a rumbling sound,

02:46and the earth suddenly gives way beneath Rupert and Bill.

02:50Look out!

02:54Rupert and Bill scramble to their feet.

02:57Wizardy whiz, look, exclaims Rupert, pointing at the neat shelves that surround them.

03:05Podgey excitedly jumps down into the hole.

03:08Yum, yum, he cries happily, picking up a pot of blackberry jam.

03:13This is much nicer than a Croc of Gold.

03:18What's that?

03:20Rupert looks round, astonished as some of the earth is pushed to one side,

03:25as the door opens in the side of the hole.

03:30Why, Mr. Grimnasty?

03:32Well, well.

03:36And for once, Mr. Grimnasty is speechless.

03:40Podgey has a horrible feeling that something is wrong somewhere.

03:45We found this, he says, trying to wipe the jam off his chin,

03:49instead of a Croc of Gold.

03:51Mr. Grimnasty isn't listening.

03:53My storeroom, my beautiful storeroom ruined, and my jam stolen.

04:01But, but, but, stutters poor Podgey.

04:05Oh, we didn't mean to.

04:06We were looking for the Croc of Gold at the end of the rainbow, and, and...

04:10That's enough, Rupert, not another word.

04:12I'm going to see Constable Growler about this.

04:14Mr. Grimnasty is so angry, that neither Rupert, nor Bill, nor Podgey wait to hear any more.

04:23Mr. Grimnasty looks round him, and starts to think.

04:28Now, if this is the end of the rainbow, and if there was a Croc of Gold, he mutters,

04:34that gold would be mine, mine.

04:38I'm rich, he chuckles, I'm rich.

04:42Now, where's the spade?

04:44Ah, and he begins to dig, and dig, and dig.

04:51Raggety wanders into the storeroom, looking for his mid-morning snack of wood shavings.

04:55Come on, there's another spade, and you can dig too.

04:58What for? Another storeroom?

05:01No, no, a Croc of Gold.

05:04Oh, you can't eat gold.

05:06It's not for eating, it's for spending.

05:09Come on, dig.

05:11For Mr. Grimnasty has gold fever.

05:15Ah, what's this?

05:17Mr. Grimnasty stoops down.

05:20Why, it's my Croc of Gold, he cries delightedly.

05:24And there are three of them.

05:28Mr. Grimnasty can hardly believe his eyes.

05:31He's so excited that he holds his breath as he slowly and carefully removes the lid from the first.

05:40But, alas, it's empty.

05:44Mr. Grimnasty, and so is the next, and the third.

05:50Mr. Grimnasty is furious.

05:53Now, what use are these?

05:55He shouts angrily, peering into one, just to make sure.

05:58Well, they certainly make lovely places to hide, decides Raggety, hastily jumping into one, for Mr. Grimnasty looks extremely cross.

06:08Raggety? Raggety, where are you?

06:11Rupert, Pudgy, and Bill are all sitting rather miserably in the garden, when Mr. Grimnasty comes up the garden path with the three pots.

06:24Look what I've found, he shouts.

06:26I thought I'd dig for the Croc of Gold, but all I've found are three empty ones.

06:30Oh, goodness me, cries Mr. Bear excitedly as he examines the pots.

06:35Why, these are really very old, Mr. Grimnasty.

06:38I shall telephone the professor right away.

06:44Come in and have a cup of tea, Mr. Grimnasty, says Mrs. Bear.

06:47You must be worn out.

06:49I am, Mrs. Bear, I am, he sighs.

06:53We, we are truly sorry about breaking into your storeroom, says Rupert timidly.

07:00Oh, that's all right, says Mr. Grimnasty.

07:03And you must excuse me, he adds, but I have a terrible temper.

07:09And as for the jam, Pudgy, continues Mr. Grimnasty, you're welcome to it.

07:15Blackberry pips always get into my teeth.

07:18The professor's coming right away, says Mr. Bear delightedly as he hurries in.

07:22These pots are very dirty.

07:24I'll wash them, suggests Mrs. Bear.

07:27Oh, no, no, cries Mr. Bear.

07:30The earth will help him place them time-wise, he explains.

07:34Oh?

07:35Mrs. Bear is surprised.

07:38Hello, hello, cries the professor.

07:41Goodness, you were quick, says Mr. Bear.

07:44I ran all the way.

07:46Now, where are they?

07:48Oh, but they're beautiful.

07:50And the professor plunges his hand inside one.

07:54Oh, oh, something bit me.

07:56Well, it's your fault, yells Raggedy, leaping suddenly out of the crock.

08:00You shouldn't go sticking your fingers into people.

08:03Raggedy, what were you doing in there, asks Rupert.

08:08Raggedy giggles.

08:09They make lovely hiding places, he explains.

08:13Oh, Mrs. Bear, can I have a taste of that?

08:16I'm so hungry.

08:17All right, says Mrs. Bear, who's busy stirring a pudding.

08:21And she holds out the spoon.

08:23Oh, delicious.

08:24Yum, yum, yum, yum.

08:27Oh, Raggedy, I didn't mean the wooden spoon as well.

08:30Now, there are plenty of twigs in the garden.

08:32So off you go.

08:33The professor's absorbed and mutters to himself as he gently scrapes away the earth round one of the pots.

08:42Yes, yes, I believe.

08:44Mmm, definitely, yes, yes, I'm sure.

08:49Well, the professor beams at Mr. Grimnasty.

08:52This is the finest example of pre-Roman pottery or even the beaky people I've ever seen.

09:00And I should be so grateful if you would donate them to the museum, continues the professor.

09:06Why, um, of course, of course.

09:10We'll go right away then.

09:11Come on, says the professor, picking up a pot.

09:14Mr. Grimnasty picks up another, and Mr. Bear the third.

09:17Well, well, well, let's go and bury one of our pots so people in a thousand years can find it, says Rupert excitedly.

09:27No, Rupert, that's my favourite bowl, cries Mrs. Bear, rescuing it just in time.

09:32You can bury this old mug of yours, she adds kindly.

09:37The following morning, as Rupert, Mr. Bear and Mrs. Bear are sitting down for breakfast, there's a knock at the door.

09:44Good morning, Mr. Grimnasty, says Rupert, surprised to see him up so early.

09:49Look, look, he cries excitedly, holding up the morning paper.

09:54And there, right on the front page, is a photograph of Mr. Grimnasty.

10:00Wizardy whiz, exclaims Rupert, reading.

10:04One of the greatest discoveries of our time.

10:08Yes, and that's me, says Mr. Grimnasty proudly.

10:11Oh, says Rupert, surprised.

10:15I thought that meant the pots.

10:17Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone's in his name.

10:40Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone come and join.

10:44Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone come and join in all of his name.
