Gwent Police are not responding to 999 calls quickly enough, according to a recently published report and also says the force is not conducting thorough or prompt investigations and fails to identify repeat offenders. The report piles on additional pressure on Gwent Police who also have 4 officers suspended while a racism and sexism investigation takes place and another into the handling of a missing persons case in the last few weeks.

A conservative councillor is being investigated after alleged racist remarks. Andrew Edwards of Pembrokeshire county council is alleged to have said white men should have black slaves. Senedd Tory leader Andrew RT Davies called the comments abhorrent and were not shared by the Conservative Party.
