Labour have refused to commit to any guaranteed HS2 money for Wales despite calls from Welsh labour on the issue. HS2 was deemed an ‘England and Wales’ project, meaning no additional funding was given to Wales, while Scotland and Northern Ireland have both been given hundreds of millions due to the project.

Wales remain undefeated at the rugby World Cup after a dominant win over Georgia on Saturday, beating the 2nd tier side 43 to 19. Wales were already through to the quarter finals, but the win cemented their place in first, and will now play Argentina in the next round on Saturday.

Two caerphilly councillors have repeated calls to prevent toxic waste from spilling out of a local quarry. Councillors Jan Jones and Janine Reed argue there has been inaction on the clean up job at the old Ty Llwyd quarry site could be dangerous, with decades old chemicals leaking into local wildlife.
