Wales headlines 20 November: Wales fall to draw at Armenia, NHS winter pressures could affect waiting targets, Cardiff Devils in Continental cup finals
  • 5 months ago
Wales’ chances of automatic qualification for Euro 2024 are now out of their hands after a lacklustre 1 all draw away to Armenia. A win would have meant beating Turkey in Cardiff on Tuesday would have put us on the plane to the tournament, but will now more than likely have to qualify through playoffs next year.

There are fears winter pressure in the Welsh NHS will mean further missed waiting time targets from the Welsh government. With two such targets having already been missed, and over 50,000 patients waiting over a year for appointments, Health Minster Eluned Morgan has said additional pressure through the winter will not help hit targets.

Cardiff Devils have made it to the finals of the Continental cup for the first time after a narrow 1-0 win over Bruleurs de loop in Grenoble in France. Over 300 fans made the lengthy trip down, with Devils manager saying the fans drove them over the finish line. The finals group will take place in January.
