00:00Well, we have another beautiful day on the way today and tomorrow, and still mostly dry on Thursday, too.
00:05The next widespread chance of thunder moves in for Friday, followed by a nice weekend.
00:19So with some storm reports, as expected last night, a few of them, some wind damage reports
00:24just south and west of the New Ulm area towards Medelia,
00:27and a couple of tornado reports, and these were photographed, too, here in the northwestern part of the state around Beltrami.
00:35So a pretty interesting scenario there.
00:38Those storms all really fizzling out, though, generally as they moved east.
00:41We saw a few thunderstorms pop up ahead of the main line of storms that produced some rainfall in the east metro,
00:46but otherwise most of the Twin Cities saw very little rain, but there were pockets of one-inch swaths kind of randomly across the state.
00:53But high pressure settling in now that it's bringing sunshine, getting rid of some low clouds and fog
00:57in northern Minnesota, and we're in for really a few nice days.
01:00Could see an isolated shower today, particularly northeastern or southeastern Minnesota,
01:04but most of us should stay dry with just some fair-weather cumulus clouds developing.
01:08Low to mid-80s for highs today and tomorrow pretty much statewide.
01:13Not a lot of temperature variation.
01:14We're in that time of year where we're in our most stable kind of weather conditions
01:18with little fluctuation in temperatures over area, too.
01:22So dew points a little more comfortable, too.
01:24They're dropping today with this weak front behind yesterday.
01:27Today and tomorrow should see upper 50s to around 60-degree dew points,
01:30which is considerably more comfortable than last weekend.
01:33But by Thursday evening, you're going to notice those dew points increasing,
01:36and that moisture will help contribute to the next chance of thunder here,
01:39widespread thunder chance on Friday.
01:42Right now it's an upper-level low just off the coast of California.
01:45That little pool of cool air loft instability will make its way across the Rockies here,
01:50up and over the heat dome to the west.
01:52That's where the heat's really staying over the next several days,
01:55but that will come in as a wave here Thursday night into Friday,
01:58and that's going to create our next round of weather here, showers and thunderstorms,
02:01and probably two main rounds of activity that we'll show in a second.
02:05And moisture surging ahead of it, as we mentioned,
02:07those dew points will increase late Thursday into Friday.
02:10So a round of thunderstorms Thursday night.
02:12This is 4 a.m. Friday, probably a break for the better part of the day Friday,
02:16but more storms will develop and push through late Friday into Friday night,
02:20but it looks as though this is all going to get out of here in time for Saturday and Sunday.
02:23We finally figured out our timing with showers and thunderstorms.
02:26But another inch to an inch and a half of rain possible across a large chunk of southern,
02:31central, and northeastern Minnesota Thursday night into Friday and Friday night.
02:35So we remain adequate or at a surplus for rainfall.
02:40But just enough energy, maybe Friday we'll have to watch for some strong storms.
02:43It'll depend upon how much sun we get in the middle of the day Friday.
02:46And, of course, the question always is where the shear to organize storms will set up to.
02:51But Saturday looks nice behind it.
02:54Sunday, too, we'll clear out.
02:55Drop in humidity again Saturday.
02:58Very comfortable and probably our coolest day over the next seven days,
03:01Saturday, with highs just in the upper 70s to around 80,
03:04which is just a few degrees cooler than normal.
03:06Probably right around 79, 80.
03:0870s, though, for most Saturday.
03:09And then Sunday it'll be warmer again.
03:11A lot of 80s out there.
03:12But, really, the next seven days, pretty quiet, stable weather as far as temperatures go.
03:17We're not talking about any real heat or cool weather.
03:19Right near normal here, cool and wet in the south.
03:21And that heat dome, for now, at least staying in the west, keeping things hotter than normal there.
03:2784 today.
03:28Lots of sun.
03:29Again, slight, slight chance of an isolated, random shower popping up really at any point late in the afternoon, evening.
03:35But, again, better chances of that for the northeastern and southeastern parts of the state.
03:40Tomorrow looks gorgeous.
03:41Thursday, maybe a few storms already in western Minnesota, but I think we'll stay dry here in eastern Minnesota until Thursday night.
03:48And that's when we'll see scattered showers and storms.
03:50Friday again, kind of in two waves, early and then late.
03:53All moving out of here.
03:54It looks like time for Saturday and Sunday, which look pretty nice now.
03:58And next chance of any thunder, models kind of differ on timing either Monday or Tuesday of early next week.
