00:00Well, we take a look at last night's rainfall, the second one of the week.

00:03We've got more rain on the way for Thursday and potentially a stormy setup for early next week.

00:17Well, picked up some additional rainfall overnight with our second system of the week,

00:22two of four of the week. Not as much rainfall as Sunday night. In fact, just a trace at MSP,

00:28but parts of the metro and especially south of the Twin Cities got a few tenths of an inch of rain,

00:32and now those clouds and showers will persist across northern Minnesota.

00:36Well, we see sunshine here in the southern part of the state for a better part of the day.

00:40This is really kind of a clipper system, that low tracking straight east across the state

00:44and bringing more showers for northern Minnesota. But even there, where they had some snowfall early

00:49yesterday, it's in the form of liquid at least. Now, just to the northwest in Manitoba, it's in the

00:55form of snow. So that system will pull away. We get a largely dry break tonight into tomorrow

00:59across the state, but we've got two more systems lined up. And warmer temperatures where we see the

01:04sun today, 60s to near 70 degrees in southern Minnesota, rain-cooled temperatures in the 50s

01:09to the north. And tomorrow, similar temperatures well into the 60s, if not low 70s across southern

01:14Minnesota. We'll see more sunshine, some high clouds starting to move in, and maybe a spotty shower

01:19or two tomorrow, in far southern Minnesota especially. But the main event is going to come

01:24Thursday, and particular Thursday night looks like we could see some periods of some heavier

01:29rainfall. Kind of a similar situation to Sunday night, where we see a little bit more measurable

01:33rainfall potentially. Not necessarily thunderstorms, but at least some heavier showers. And again,

01:39kind of like Sunday night, confined mostly to the southeastern part of the state with the

01:42Twin Cities on the northwest edge of this. So potentially another inch of rainfall for parts

01:47of southeastern Minnesota, where they got one to two inches Sunday night, too. And then

01:52fast-forwarding, seasonable temperatures for the weekend. And next week's system will come

01:57with warmer temperatures, 70s to near 80-degree temperatures Monday, higher dew points. That

02:01means that we're talking about more thunderstorms rather than just rain showers, and particularly

02:06late in the day with that daytime heating, both Sunday and Monday, but in particular Monday.

02:12And we could be dealing with thunderstorms, as I mentioned here. Plenty of instability. This is

02:16proportionate right to those gulf dew points. It'll start to reach southern Minnesota by Monday.

02:21So not only close to 80 degrees, but with dew points, it'll be higher, just generating more

02:25instability. Lightning forecasts from the European model showing that, in particular Monday, and then

02:30again, maybe into early Tuesday. And already, the Storm Prediction Center is watching Monday into

02:35Monday night for an early look here at potential strong to severe storms. So southern Minnesota,

02:41early heads up that we could see some strong storms on Monday. So a summary scenario as we head into

02:46early next week, potentially. But 68 today. Clouds will continue to decrease for the southern half of

02:52the state. 70 tomorrow, with more sunshine mainly dry. Again, maybe a spotty shower, but the better

02:57chance is going to be Thursday into Thursday night. A little cooler those days as well. Should clear out

03:02for Saturday. But yeah, that fourth system moves in here for Sunday into particularly Monday, but with

03:09warmer temperatures could be stormy.
