00:42one cat's good enough bruce robinson told the british columbia sbca that he had taken in the cats

00:48that had been abandoned during covid but the cost of caring for them had become a crazy task after

00:56he lost his job the charity had sent staff to his house in this small town to assess the situation

01:01they said it was unbelievable the cats were sociable they seem to be in good condition

01:08they say the guy had a huge heart and he was definitely caring for them all 300 well that's

01:14good but they had to a lot of times but they just kept multiplying i was gonna say how many do you

01:19think he took care of at first they said that all of them are in good condition right that's yeah i

01:24think he must have been buying food like it was going out of style broke yeah it ruined him

01:30three feeding 300 cats there isn't a small animal alive in that whole area i guess he had tried to

01:36give away some of the cats but didn't have much luck instead he found himself spending thousands of

01:40dollars a month at times going without food himself oh my god to ensure they had all the food

01:48they needed and to buy cat litter for the dozens of litter boxes i didn't even think about that

01:55so many so much poopies cleaning yeah so gross every day that's why he called the cops or whatever

02:02he was like somebody cats you won't believe it cats as far as the eye can see there's cats in my

02:07pockets there's cats all over the living room i'm spending three thousand dollars a month i'm feeding

02:13all these cats gotta help i'm hungry i'm hungry i'm dying here i gotta i gotta help me

02:18i haven't eaten in weeks i haven't eaten in weeks it smells terrible

02:22smells god awful sir how did it get this way i don't know i just had a couple of cats next thing

02:28i knew 300 cats i feel like that's his life i do i feel like he was like i'm gonna rescue these 12

02:33cats like and then they were like six were boys and six were girls and then next thing you know you

02:39got 300 of them yep oh he's trying to be a nice guy he was i love each and every one of them but i

02:44can't i can't do it anymore i have overextended myself greatly he named everyone i was gonna say

02:50i'm just gonna say they all had names sir who how can you give us some of the names jerry danny randy

02:57that's derrick derrick just ran out derrick's out oh man yep george name them all he could not

03:16have known their who's which one's which i love that he did that just means he tried so hard

03:23oh my god right there all 10 of those that's mittens one through 10

03:27he's got to start recycling all the names fluffy 17 get in here

03:34and mitch yeah he had named each one of them he said i love every one of them i was just trying

03:41to give them a safe home but it got away from me oh man oh my goodness so now they're racing to

03:47raise funds to find a building capable of housing 300 cats and they all have to be assessed by a vet

03:55vaccinated and spayed or neutered before being put up for adoption it's a huge undertaking see uh if

04:02he would have crunched the numbers on this when he saved the first 12 if he would have just got

04:07them spayed or neutered like bob barker says then i think he would have saved himself but how much

04:15would that chuck getting all the money on that would be crazy i know but maybe like i don't know

04:23how much that costs i really i really don't know but he was spending you know like thousands a month

04:29right just trying to deliver food they say there were 80 newborn kittens that he had all delivered

04:34himself sir how you doing there he's so busy 80 kittens i don't know how to feel i'm like really

04:40happy but i'm also terrified because these cats are ruining my life but look at these kittens

04:45look at them they're crawling everywhere 80 of them you ever seen anything so adorable you delivered

04:50them all yourself i did every one of them that must have been messy huh i do i feel like most of his

04:56days were spent just in tears but then but every once in a while he'd go to the kitten room right

05:02and he'd just lay on the ground and all the kittens would go on him and he'd be like yep

05:06he's like well that's why i do it yep that's it i wonder if there was like one meow that like

05:11sent him over the edge it was like yeah and he's like that's it

05:14that's it all 300 of you you're gone i can't do it anymore

05:17yep his breaking point that was it that was the last one mittens five

05:22that was it you just screwed everybody else in the whole place i'm done you're all out i am done i'm calling

05:30the cops that was his breaking point i'm almost there with one because cats are little bastards

05:38right if they're hungry or they they wake you up right imagine 300 oh i can't my cat will not be

05:45anywhere else except for wherever i am so and i'm talking like i'll be playing the computer game he'll

05:52jump onto my back yeah i'm like he mustn't have had a life hey cat man you want to join us tonight

06:00we're going out for i can't you know i got all 300 of those cats pretty busy all week yeah i don't

06:07have any money to go out either because it turns out feeding these things is quite pricey god you're

06:12losing weight i know i haven't been eating 300 cats will do it i'm on the 300 cat diet

06:17yeah oh kudos i mean i really it's crazy he needs help he does need help but he's a nice it's the

06:27nicest mass animal story we've ever done yeah usually the animals are in terrible condition

06:32they don't take care of that i know yeah he was in a lucky place was just the nicest guy

06:38and it got out of control i mean he must have rolled up to like a pet food place and be like

06:43i'll take it all all the cat food i'll be back i'm back it up 20 grand cash that chewy that chewy

06:52place is dropping off like a whole truck load right it's like an airdrop yeah yeah the parachute
