The England national cricket team have showcased a brilliant fightback on the second day of the first Test against the Indian national cricket team after a disappointing first day in Leeds. Earlier, Team India was bundled out for 471 runs in the first innings. The visitors lost their last seven wickets for just 41 runs. England captain Ben Stokes and Josh Tongue bagged four wickets apiece. For India, captain Shubman Gill (147), Rishabh Pant (134) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) scored respective centuries. There was a little rain delay before England resumed their innings. Jasprit Bumrah removed Zak Crawley (4) in the very first over. Opener Ben Duckett (62) played a fighting knock and stitched a 122-run stand for the second wicket. Joe Root (28) chipped in crucial runs. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Ben Duckett and Joe Root. Sadly, the Indian speedster couldn't find support from the other end. England's Ollie Pope hammered an unbeaten century as he took his side to 209-3 in 49 overs at stumps on Day 2. The Ben Stokes-led England are trailing by 262 runs.
