Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 42 runs in IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on May 23. Royal Challengers Benglauru won the toss and opted to bowl first. The pitch looked good for batting and Abhishek Sharma (34) and Travis Head (17) started quickly. After a brisk knock, Sharma was dismissed by Lungi Ngidi (1/51). In the next over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/43) dismissed Travis Head. Ishan Kishan (94*) and Heinrich Klaasen (24) stitched a solid partnership. Kishan went on to play till the end and the likes of Aniket Verma, Abhinav Manohar and Pat Cummins chipped in to take the score to 231/6. Chasing it, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a great start through Phil Salt (62) and Virat Kohli (43). They were 118/1 in 10 overs at one point. But Pat Cummins (3/28) dismissed Salt and after that they collapsed and ended up getting bowled out for 189. This is the second victory in a row for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, fifth overall and fourth loss for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
