Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets in IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on May 27. Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and opted to bowl first. Lucknow Super Giants were off to a steady start although Nuwan Thushara cleaned up Matthew Breetzke early. Rishabh Pant finally returned to form as he and Mitchell Marsh (67) stitched a 152-run partnership to power Lucknow Super Giants to a big total. Pant remained unbeaten on 118 and helped Super Giants post 227/3 on board. Chasing it, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a steady start as well but Akash Singh struck them by dismissing Phil Salt (30). Virat Kohli (54) continued charge from other end but Royal Challengers kept losing the likes of Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone. They looked really in trouble after Avesh Khan dismissed Virat Kohli. But that is when Jitesh Sharma took charge alongside Mayank Agarwal (41*) and the duo powered Royal Challengers over the finishing line. Jitesh remained unbeaten on 33-ball 85. With this win Royal Challengers finished second in the IPL 2025 points table and entered the Qualifier 1.
