Anaya Bangar, the child of former cricketer and popular commentator Sanjay Bangar, has urged the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and ICC (International Cricket Council) to initiate dialogue on including transgender women in women's cricket. A former professional cricketer, Anaya Bangar, had earlier revealed undergoing a life-changing Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT) to undergo gender transition from male to female. Previously known as Aryan, Anaya Bangar was diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria and had begun the HRT procedure in 2023. Anaya Bangar has regularly shared updates about the journey of gender transformation. Anaya Bangar had earlier expressed disappointment after the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) had banned transgender women from women's professional cricket. Taking to Instagram, Anaya Bangar shared findings of an eight-week research project evaluating how HRT affected athletic performance. By sharing the report, Anaya Bangar hoped to initiate a conversation with the BCCI and ICC 'based on facts, not fear.'
