00:05Anaya Bangar, the daughter of former India cricketer and ex-batting coach Sanjay Bangar,

00:10had made shocking revelations against the cricket world.

00:12And mentally, it will be very upsetting for you.

00:15Because in that line, you said that I have thoughts.

00:20Yes.

00:21Because I thought that the whole world is against me.

00:24When I made this decision, did you have some feedback, some reactions?

00:30There has been support and there has been some harassment as well.

00:36What kind of harassment?

00:37So, again, there have been a few cricketers.

00:41They randomly sent me nude pictures of them.

00:44In a candid conversation with Lalantop, she alleged that several cricketers harassed her

00:48by sending unsolicited nude photographs.

00:51All this while she was undergoing hormone replacement therapy or HRT to transition genders

00:57and was socially finding a place in the cricketing fraternity as a trans woman.

01:10Anaya used to play cricket as Aryan Bangar alongside some well-known cricketers

01:14like Mushir Khan, Sarfaraz Khan and Yashashvi Jaiswal.

01:17While some were supportive, many, she alleged, thrived on toxic masculinity

01:21and insecurity in the cricket world as she faced open verbal harassment.

01:25Cricketing world, I think it's very insecure and filled with toxic masculinity.

01:31The emotional toll soon became a reality as there was no space left in the world of cricket for her

01:36once she transitioned.

01:37She was banned from living her lifelong dream in 2023.

01:40Anaya's story comes at an important time as the International Cricket Council, ICC,

01:49in November of 2023 changed its rules on transgender women in cricket,

01:53banning them from international tournaments.

01:55Following this, the England and Wales Cricket Board also updated its policy,

01:59preventing transgender women from playing in international matches

02:02and top-level domestic women's cricket in Tier 1 and Tier 2.

02:05As lines between sport, biology, inclusivity and fairness come together,
