4th Test (Sydney) Day 2: Highlights from India (IND) vs Australia (AUS) I Pujara & Pant show!
The second day of the fourth Test at SCG belonged to Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant. Pujara, who started the day on 130* went onto score 193, missing on his maiden double hundred on Australian soil by mere 7 runs. Pujara was fluid with the bat and soaked in a lot of balls making sure that the Australian bowlers were tired with every passing over of the Test match. Pujara was dropped on 192 by Usman Khawaja but Lyon made sure he hung onto his 15th caught and bowled. By the end of the Indian innings, Lyon had bowled the most number of overs in an innings ever. Apart from the resilience shown by Cheteshwar Pujara, the 159 run knock by Rishabh Pant was quite exceptional. The southpaw showed grit as well as his natural aggression to get the runs going for India at one end. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred in Australia. Pant, in the last English tour also made sure that he became the first wicketkeeper to score hundred. A feat even MS Dhoni didn't achieve in his Test career. Jadeja and Pant together had the highest 7th wicket partnership for India against Australia. India declared on 622/7 and gave Australian batsmen 10 overs to face on day 2. The new Australian opening pair Harris and Khawaja opened the batting and played well on a flat surface that isn't showing any demons as of now. Will Day 3 produce anything different or will the batsmen have a field day yet over again?
