Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL 2025 victory celebrations turned tragic after 11 people died and several others were left injured during a stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, June 4. On June 3, RCB ended an 18-year wait for the IPL trophy after the Rajat Patidar-led side defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to clinch the title for the first time at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A stampede occurred near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium when hundreds of fans attempted to enter the venue to catch a glimpse of the players and the IPL trophy, leading to the tragic death of 11, leaving several others injured. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the deceased and said that the government would bear the cost of treatment of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli were among those who expressed grief over the tragic incident.
