00:00It's a pleasure to be Raw Dogged and I hope everybody enjoys everything and it's great having you here.

00:06Take me out for some hot dogs.

00:10There's a battle going on in Clifton between the original Jumbos and Jumbos.

00:18This is the first two-part Raw Dogging Special.

00:23As we go Raw Dogging Clifton to see whose Jumbo is the Premier Hot Dog.

00:33Well, this is original Jumbos and this place has history.

00:36This is the Sip House, or at least what used to be the Sip House.

00:41George Washington once was here and after something from the Van der Hinkle Forum.

00:48And there's this hot dog stand that has been here since 1960.

00:55And it's been here forever.

00:58And they serve hot dogs and they also have lemon ice which is at the root of this battle.

01:06But more on that later.

01:07We're here to review their hot dogs and to see if they're worthy of the tank.

01:13Now, the other Jumbo goes to the Tyne Ice place.

01:17They now serve hot dogs kind of a tit for tat.

01:21And they serve Jumbos on Tyne Ice too.

01:24Well, I'm not having a Tyne Ice. I'm here just for the hot dogs.

01:37It goes back to 1835.

01:50The guy used to make Tyne Ice in here.

01:54If you see the picture on the bottom left of the building, he built a wooden push cart.

01:57And we'd sell hot dogs for like 25 cents up and down the street here.

02:02But before that in 1776, we'll see the sign up here.

02:06It was a pre-made kitchen for George Washington and his troop when they're marching through here to go to Walton.

02:10So it's that old.

02:13During the pandemic, I really structured everything.

02:16We're everything back to the place.

02:18It's closed down for a while.

02:19So I put the history back.

02:21And it worked out great.

02:23Original Jumbos has been around forever.

02:26You know, you've heard the story.

02:29This guy is a character, you know.

02:32This place has character.

02:34And these hot dogs look terrific.

03:56I'm gonna say this is a very good chili dog. Double off the fence. Another

04:02fantastic hot dog place. You know, they're good. But somebody in the

04:12neighborhood is trying to say that they're better. We at Raw Dogging like

04:19to get into the weeds. We like to get into battles. You know, you have

04:22the friendly rivalry in Elizabeth between Tommy and Jerry. And then you

04:28have the deep animosity of American Lafayette in Detroit. And then you

04:35have original gyms and Express Lunch that are connected in Chicago and

04:42have the same design, part of the same building, where original gyms is

04:48busy. Express Lunch is not. And original gyms will have a sign up

04:52there, we're not affiliated with them. They say, no, they suck. Well, we got

04:56jumbo. Of course, solid hot dog place been around forever. And now

05:01here's jumbo. And these two guys hate each other. Did police have been

05:05called here? These guys literally battling each other. Basically,

05:09jumbo shut down during the pandemic. And jumbo tried to take

05:13over. That's why he's called original jumbos. And this guy is

05:17just jumbo. But we're gonna see if jumbo measures up. Or is he just a

05:23bunch of mumbo jumbo?

05:28This is the first thing I notice. It's not the natural casing

05:32to Brett's. Well, the bundle ratio is good.

07:20Jumbo, nobody's there. It's a bunch of bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.

07:25Jumbos, original jumbos is hopping.

07:29Express lunch is express lunch because there's no line.

07:33That's how they make their money because original gyms had a big line.

07:37This place, no line and a weird vibe.
