00:00Pete, the next one is Render Judgment.

00:02He's the number 15.

00:03He was one of the last horses to qualify for the Kentucky Derby.

00:07And in doing so, he's picked up points just like in small finishes in a lot of races.

00:13Like he's only won one time in his career debut and since in his second start.

00:18And since then, hasn't really been close in other races.

00:21But he does go out for the trainer of last year's Kentucky Derby winner

00:25and the trainer that won last year's Kentucky Oaks.

00:28Do you think Render Judgment has a shot at all in here?

00:32You know, listen, Toby Keith, the late great Toby Keith,

00:35who used to be a Breeders' Cup ambassador back in the day.

00:38One of the nicest guys used to show up all the time for us when I was at Breeders' Cup.

00:42He obviously passed away.

00:44His dream was to get to the Derby.

00:46I feel like this is a nod to get him his horse to run, which is a nice story.

00:53I just don't think he's ready for this.

00:56Maybe down the road.

00:57I mean, I could see that, you know, he's got some nice races in there.

01:00The numbers keep improving.

01:02But it's just a little too difficult for this trip.

01:05Alexa, he probably is going to be one of the longer shots in the field.

01:08What do you think about Render Judgment?

01:10Yeah, I can't play him in here.

01:11I mean, he's never even hit the board in a Graded Stakes race.

01:14So I also, I know I mentioned this earlier,

01:17but Jockey Brian Hernandez, who rides for Kenny McPeak,

01:21and if you have watched the Netflix special that Pete stars in,

01:24if you haven't, go do it.

01:25It's called Race for the Crown.

01:26It's really great.

01:27But it shows a lot about those relationships between trainer and jockeys

01:31and how strong they are and how much it means to be like a first call

01:35and a rider for somebody.

01:36So the fact that he opted to ride for Ian Wilkes on Burnham Square,

01:39I think does say a lot.

01:40I know it could have been because of the order of when he got in the field,

01:44but still, I think it says a lot.

01:45And then Pete, for the next one, it's Cole Battle.

01:49He's the number 16.

01:50He's going to go out for a trainer who I think is up over 70 now.

01:54He's like a small barn.

01:55And that's what's really cool about a race like the Kentucky Derby.

01:59You have horses that come from the biggest barns and the biggest operations.

02:03And then you have horses like this, like Cole Battle, who come from small barns.

02:06We're going to talk about a horse like Chunk of Gold in a little bit,

02:08where a good horse can come from anywhere and from anyone around the world.

02:13Cole Battle is one of those horses who every time we sort of think he's in too tough,

02:18he kind of passes another test.

02:19But you were saying you're a little bit cold on the horses coming out of the Arkansas Derby.

02:23Would that expand to him as well?

02:26Yeah.

02:26So, I mean, Cole Battle, what happened quickly, he won the Smarty Jones back in January.

02:32And I love the way he looked.

02:34I wasn't really paying much attention.

02:36But long story short, I bet him in the future bet.

02:39And I bet him in every future bet from there on.

02:41So I have him at 52 to 1.

02:43I got him at 48 to 1.

02:44I love the story behind him.

02:46He tries hard.

02:47Forget about breeding.

02:48He's got none of that.

02:49I mean, you can't look at any of that.

02:50His jockey is the king of Louisiana Downs, right?

02:53Juan Vargas.

02:54I'd love to see it.

02:55I think he'll try hard.

02:58He's just not going to get there.
