00:06This race we referenced the horse a little earlier on and this one will be I think the major major focus of this race

00:14That's the number nine first resort who is the winner of the Kentucky Jockey Club at two?

00:19I think you have it picked right on top, right? He feels like the horse to beat it here

00:23I think so. He's currently has ten points on the Derby leaderboard

00:27So if he picks up 20 here for winning, you'd have 30 I need one more

00:31Placing to get his spot in the Kentucky Derby, but he will be trying synthetic for the first time

00:36Which if you look at the pace projector there, whenever it is blue, it represents a synthetic surface, which is a

00:43Surface made of rubber and sand that can withstand the weather and is easier on the horse's joints

00:49So it's been really cold here in Kentucky. We have that synthetic surface at Turf Way, but like you said

00:56Do you know won that big race last November and has been off since then but it's training really well despite having a month

01:03Off of his training due to the crazy cold temperatures

01:06We've had here in Kentucky, but trainer did say he's a spit as you can get him going into Saturday

01:12So that's the horse you have picked on top talk to us about the horses you have in like the two three four spots underneath

01:17Yeah, I have the ten next in line coming in hot at five to one who is undefeated on the synthetic surface

01:24However, they've all been sprint. So this will be the first race

01:28He's run it longer than six and a half furlongs

01:30But when they switched him to the synthetic surface two races back, he really improved so much

01:34So I think that bodes really well for him for this race

01:37but not

01:38Necessarily as well for the Derby if he does manage to get enough points to enter since his dirt races have been a bit of

01:45a cut below

01:47Other than that, I like the five

01:49California burrito

01:51eight to one odds who's

01:53Proven on the synthetic with a win last out at Turf Way about a month ago

01:57this is a step up in class, but his speed figures are competitive and

02:01He's won on the lead as well from off the pace. So he may have some tactical advantage in here

02:07and then the seven baby max at six to one odds is my fourth selection who

02:12Won a stakes race on the tapita another word for the synthetic surface at Turf Way last month with a fast speed figure coming

02:20From off the pace. He also had a big break in his workout regimen due to the cool weather here, but he's a closer

02:26So that's baby max. So Alexis selections there. We'll take a look at them in just a moment

02:31We'll head on over and start talking about some of the horses who I like a couple similarities in my top four

02:36But I'm gonna start out with the number four and that's calling card

02:39Calling card won a race in aqueduct back in November by

02:4317 links that put him on my radar and coming off of that race

02:47He was a pretty good third to Sandman who we were just talking about

02:50We think Sandman is the horse to beat in the rebel. I think that's a tougher race than this one

02:56Most recently the number four calling card ran on a sloppy track over at the fairgrounds

03:01And he just didn't look like he liked that racetrack. It got wet

03:04Some horses don't like it when it starts to rain. I think you can put a line right through that race

03:08You can be forgiving about it and give him another chance

03:11one thing that's a positive Alexa when horses have races like that where they just don't run well for whatever reason the next time out

03:18There are better prices because people are scared off of them

03:21They're looking back and wondering why they ran so poorly if you can find a reason why you can actually get some really nice value

03:28On them. So the four calling card on top for me the number nine who we just talked a little bit about first resort

03:34That's the horse to beat

03:35He's just outside of the top 20 as far as the points are concerned right now

03:39So if he wins run second in here

03:42He'll put himself into that top 20 and then he'll have an opportunity to get more points when he runs one more time

03:47Before the Kentucky Derby so the nine in the second spot for me

03:51Then we go to the outside with the number 12 maximum promise who very similar to calling card

03:57I think we can just look at his last race on a sloppy track

04:00He didn't really run well and we can put a line right through it and look at what he was doing before that race and

04:06That would stack up pretty well in here maximum promise

04:10So I'll round out my top four with another one that Alexa used. That's the number seven baby max

04:14What's nice about the seven? He's got the local win, you know, he likes this track

04:19So if some of these other horses who might be better horses, and maybe they don't take to that synthetic surface

04:26Maybe they're not quite ready. You know a horse like baby max is kind of the now horse

04:30So let's move to selections Alexa wrap them up one more time. Yep

04:35I've got first resort on top followed by the 10 coming in hot

04:39California burrito, which has made me want a burrito for lunch and baby max
