00:00All right. Let's go to the stakes themselves. And, you know, unless I'm mistaken, you have had this Baeza horse involved in, you know, one of the others, right? Am I crazy at Pimlico or at Churchill? You had Baeza involved.
00:19Baeza was in the mix underneath. And our friend Alexa actually liked Baeza too in the Derby. And then in the Preakness, we were on Journalism, Gosker. I had River Thames as kind of my top pick. The reason why I'm going to go to Baeza in this particular race, it's a smaller field. So you're not going to have as much of a fast early pace. It won't be like in the Kentucky Derby when there were a bunch of horses going at it early. I think it's going to be a little bit more sensible.
00:45You'll probably have the three Rodriguez go to the front. The five Crudo will probably up there pushing. But Baeza, the six, he's going to be the horse that I think sits in the perfect spot, Scott.
00:57He's going to sit right in front of Journalism and Sovereignty. And he's going to be the horse that gets to make that early move, make the first move.
01:05And he's running against him, right? He's giving him problems in the Derby and at Santa Anita. He's running against both of these horses. Baeza's not afraid of these two.
01:16Nope, nope. I don't think it's just the big two. It's not necessarily just the Derby winner Sovereignty and the Preakness winner Journalism.
01:23I think Baeza has, why can he turn the tables on him? Because of the style, his running style. He might be the horse that gets the jump on them.
01:32So if you're wondering, like if you're playing horses and one is better than the other and they beat them over and over and over again, that's fine.
01:38But if you want to try to flip it, there has to be a reason, right? Why, what is going to be different than the last time?
01:45I think it's going to be in this smaller field. Baeza's going to be the horse that gets to make that early move.
01:50He was hooked way wide in the Derby. Remember, he had post-19. So he had to just kind of make a decision.
01:56The rider decided to kind of wait and then make a late move. It's going to be way different this weekend.
02:01And if they're all close in price, Baeza is the value play for sure because they're very evenly matched.
02:08I'm always looking for the value. He should be in that four to one range.
02:11And what about this fast, long shot you got, Hill Road, that can really benefit from speed at the beginning of this race?
02:21Exactly.
02:21And it won in Aqueduct, right? His last trip out?
02:24Exactly. So this is a horse who has been running in New York. He's prepped for this.
02:28And in his other couple races at the end of last year and earlier this year, he ran and then he would run well.
02:34But after the race, something would happen. He'd get sick. There'd be a little physical issue.
02:38So he couldn't string races together. He's coming into this race primed in the best form he's ever been.
02:45And he will come running late. He just probably needs a little bit of help up front.
02:49If they go quick, he's one of those horses who could at least finish in your top three and maybe spice up some of the exotics.
02:55So, yeah, maybe some value there. The horse on top will be Baeza.
03:00And then we respect the heck out of journalism. He's the only one who's been in all three.
03:03He overcame a lot to win that race in the Preakness.
03:07So to me, Baeza and journalism are the two that I'm going to really focus everything on.
03:13And I'm going to use Hill Road as well.
03:15And we always encourage all of you to make sure to check out shop.drf.com.
03:20That's the home base. If you need any help with the research, getting ready for the races, that's where you go.
03:25Because we've got everything you need. We've got the past performances.
03:28We've got folks who have been out at the track watching these horses train in the morning.
03:33So they put together clocker reports to tell you how they're training and maybe if they're improving and getting better and better.
03:39We also have some of the experts that tell you how they're going to bet the race and all the races leading up to the Belmont if you need additional help with the betting strategy.
03:46So this has been our great five weeks or so.
03:50And, Scott, I know we were both disappointed that we didn't get sovereignty in the Preakness.
03:54But it's about as good as we could hope for here having Derby winner versus Preakness winner.
03:59And we get the top three finishers from the Derby all coming back in the Belmont.
04:03So not necessarily the quantity, but we got the quality.
