00:00Okay, here's a really weird situation that I wanted to share.
00:07A listener sent this email and said,
00:11Here's what happened.
00:13My girlfriend went on vacation without me.
00:16In December, after only being together for about a month,
00:20my girlfriend and I planned and booked a five-day vacation
00:23to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to take place this week.
00:28Okay.
00:29Carnival?
00:30I guess.
00:31So we arrive at the airport.
00:33I wasn't allowed to board my flight due to customs issues.
00:39I received a pardon for a minor crime in the past,
00:42yet evidently it was still on my record,
00:44despite the fact that I was only going to be in the U.S. for a layover.
00:48We were traveling from Toronto.
00:50So while sitting in customs, in 20 minutes until the plane's ready to leave,
00:54my girlfriend was panicking and decided to board the flight,
00:58assuming customs would let me board.

01:01That didn't happen.
01:03She is now in Rio during Carnival by herself because she went on the trip.
