01:03to show a man getting stuck on a platform of a ride on your sides brianna ray turner is live from the
01:10fairgrounds tonight brianna you have been speaking with police and fire officials what do they say
01:15happened yeah the clay county sheriff's office and the clay counter clay county fire and rescue
01:20responded to an injury call around eight or nine p.m here at the fair involving an operator now i'm
01:26going to let you take a look at that video again this is video of the operator you can see he is
01:30struggling to get out of the plates on the bottom of the ride he's struggling all right really a smith
01:34shot this video on her phone uh smith says she's been in contact with the family of the operator who
01:39says he is injured he's still in the hospital uh chief jeff johnson with the clay county sheriff's
01:44office says the operator was trying to do a good deed and he just had bad timing now the operator
01:48tried recovering property um for someone who was on the ride uh the operator was transported to a
01:53local hospital um where he was admitted for evaluation the ride had nothing to do with this
01:59the ride is uh functioning properly right sheriff's office along with fire rescue uh did an investigation
02:05all the agencies that needed to be contacted were contacted and the ride is up and running today
02:11so come on out and enjoy the ride oh boy they really want you to ride their rides
02:15they don't care it's a carney carneys are crushed all the time and it just goes away
02:25right we probably it's not if it's not on tape we don't see it but it's fine come ride the rides
02:31that was what that was basically it don't worry about it like honestly he was in between two giant
02:38pieces of steel that looks stuck in quicksand it's bad but like it looks like there's an inch of space
02:46for his whole body he's not in two pieces i really don't know how he's not in two pieces it looks like
02:51it's squishing him in half what i don't know is if it's just like a piece of steel that folds down and
02:59it's kind of folded down on him so he went something fell off someone on the ride probably
03:04or their phone or their hat or something and he was being a nice guy to try and go in and get it
03:07but then the the door looks like it flipped shut on him or something yeah i mean i don't think that
03:15anything broke in there like it looked like he was just kind of like pinned in it oh i don't know
03:19he looks like he's in a lot of pain i can't decide if that's like a a piece that like i just don't
03:26think those people would be calm if the man was like i'm in half well don't they say i'm bleeding
03:32out rapidly you passed out yeah like i don't think people would be like yeah i don't know that
03:38looks like some kind of contraption with arm here he's in half he's in half are you cutting half
03:45fella call his family he's gonna die as soon as we release him is the lower half of your body

04:10it is right stuff like that has happened right like people get stuck in a train is the metal holding
04:16your blood in the upper half it's what's happened that's how most carnies go do you have any family
04:24chances are maybe they'd be a little more panicked i guess but i guess it doesn't look good it looks
04:29like he's being cut in half by this thing but i don't know yeah what's shocking to me are people
04:34are like walking on the part that's like crushing him they're just like walking on it they don't care
04:41yeah he's like i can kind of feel it when you guys are walking on it oh can you please stop

04:52ah my god help and then like there's just no one strong enough to lift like look it looks like a thing
05:01just could lift yeah it looks like it folds if they had like five guys you could just lift it up
05:06everyone just is like oh i'm busy i got this we gotta ride these rides only got a few more hours
05:13they got carnies stuff to do yeah you're right they are pretty calm i guess he may not be chopped
05:17in half as i first suspected but how do you think his workers comp is gonna go like uh do carnies
05:23get workers comp no no he's in half that's it that's your life they don't give carnies insurance
05:30they give them magic beans magic beans for their ailments and we all know there's no such thing
05:39but the carnies believe it the carnies believe it it helps them yeah it helps them with their injuries
05:44they look just like jelly beans
05:46oh but if we could please stop walking on the
06:16this big giant piece of steel that's crushing me
06:18leaving the beans i feel like possibly a carnies uh drug lifestyle would help in a scenario of
06:29being crushed because you're very thin and you don't feel the pain right on that too yeah
