00:07This weekend promises a lot of fine weather across the UK,

00:10but we are still looking at some wet weather

00:12through Friday night and Saturday morning

00:14across the far southeast, where the Met Office have

00:17a yellow warning in place.

00:18We're concerned the buildup of rain

00:20here with some heavy bursts could

00:22cause a bit of disruption.

00:23Elsewhere, one or two scattered showers, but for most places,

00:26it's a dry night and a clear night and a bit of a chilly one

00:29as well, with temperatures starting the weekend down

00:31four or five degrees even in towns and cities,

00:33rural parts across northern England, Scotland,

00:36and Northern Ireland may not be too far from freezing.

00:38So a fresh start for sure, but for many,

00:42it'll be a blue sky start to the weekend.

00:44One or two showers drifting into eastern England, still

00:46the potential for some heavy rain

00:48across the far southeast of England

00:50should be fading out through the day.

00:52Brisk wind here and a lot of cloud

00:54will make it feel quite cool.

00:55Could you see a few more showers developing

00:57across parts of the Midlands and Wales,

00:59but I suspect they'll be pretty well scattered

01:01and most places won't see the showers staying largely dry.

01:05And certainly for most of Scotland and Northern Ireland,

01:07a fine Saturday with spells of sunshine.

01:09And although it starts pretty chilly by the afternoon,

01:12we're up to 15, 16, maybe 17 degrees Celsius.

01:15So feeling pleasant enough in that September sunshine.

01:19Quite quickly, though, on Saturday evening,

01:21if you're heading out, temperatures

01:22will start to drop.

01:23Any showers should fade away fairly quickly.

01:26So generally, it's a dry night with clear spells,

01:28which means, again, it will turn fairly cold

01:32come Sunday morning.

01:33Temperatures, again, widely down into single figures.

01:36But again, most places will have a sunny start to Sunday.

01:40We're looking at one or two showers,

01:42perhaps still grazing parts of East Anglia,

01:44maybe still across parts of Kent, perhaps West Wales,

01:48and Cornwall as well.

01:49But for most places, Sunday's dry and bright

01:51until the cloud thickens through the morning in Western Scotland

01:54with a bit of patchy rain here, followed

01:57by a band of heavier rain and strengthening winds

02:00coming into the Highlands and the Western Isles

02:02and the Northern Isles come Sunday afternoon.

02:05Away from that, though, yes, the sunshine

02:06may turn hazy in the West.

02:08But generally, it's another dry and bright day on Sunday.

02:11And after another chilly start, we're up to 15, 16,

02:1417 degrees Celsius.

02:16Feeling pleasant enough, again, in the September sunshine.

02:19But it is going to turn cooler as that wind whips up

02:22in the Northwest and the rain arrives.

02:24That is, as you might imagine, a weather front.

02:27And it will bring a spell of rain

02:28swinging across the country on Sunday night.

02:31And notice the isobar squeezing together.

02:34So it's going to get windy, could get very windy

02:36in the far north, gusty conditions.

02:38And that weather front also switching the winds around,

02:42bringing down northerly winds and bringing down colder air

02:46as we head into Monday.

02:47So turning colder for Monday with a brisk wind

02:50and a fairly significant wind chill.

02:53So a big change for Monday.
