00:00Welcome along to your bank holiday weekend. It's a bit of a dull, dismal, damp start, but then we did need some rain.
00:07It's been a very dry month so far, but for many places, rain and drizzle on and off to start this long weekend.
00:13It is all heading its way out into the North Sea, so most places turning drier through the morning and quite a few of us brightening up.
00:19By late morning and into the afternoon, some breaks in the cloud over the Midlands, eastern England and northeast Scotland.
00:25Now, where we do see some breaks, that could just spark one or two afternoon heavy showers, possibly for East Anglia, northeastern Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:33In the west, many places will stay pretty cloudy with some rain and drizzle on and off, but I say quite a few of us will brighten up after that dull, damp start.
00:41It's not a cold start, certainly warmer than it was this time yesterday.
00:46By this afternoon, in the sunshine, feeling quite warm and humid, 21, 22 across parts of eastern England and eastern Scotland,
00:53whereas further west temperatures won't be as high because it's likely to stay fairly cloudy here.
00:58And there's more rain coming in, as you can see here, across the Republic of Ireland through the afternoon,
01:02and that spreads across northern Ireland later today and then across many areas again as we go through the night.
01:08So another pulse of rain for most of us, some heavy bursts of rain mixed in with that and some gusty winds.
01:14The wind's really starting to get quite lively across western Scotland through the night tonight,
01:19something we've not experienced for quite some time.
01:21So, yes, some gusty winds here and everywhere actually turning fairly blustery.
01:26It makes for another pretty mild night.
01:28Again, most places holding up in double figures in some towns and cities, staying in the teens.
01:34Sunday's a bit of a mishmash.
01:35It is going to be a blustery, gusty day across much of the north, particularly windy across northwest Scotland.
01:41The winds may ease a touch here through the day, but staying pretty lively over the far north with further outbreaks of rain to come.
01:47Lots of showers coming into western Scotland, northwest England, Northern Ireland.
01:50A few for north and west Wales, but I suspect not many will get to the Midlands and eastern England.
01:56The odd one, whizzing through on the breeze, but we should see some good spells of dry and bright weather over eastern England.
02:02Southern parts of the Midlands, south Wales, southwest England, even eastern Scotland will get some shelter.
02:08That wind there will bring a fresher feel.
02:10Might still squeak up over 20 degrees in the southeast tomorrow, but generally feeling not as humid.
02:15A fresher feel, with temperatures struggling for many to get above 14 or 15, especially on the west coast, where that breeze will continue to blow in more showers as we head into bank holiday and Monday.
02:27A similar story, really, with the most frequent showers in western Scotland.
02:31Some heavy ones here.
02:32Northern Ireland seeing a fair few.
02:34I think we'll see a bit more cloud over southern parts on Monday and parts of Wales with a few more showers compared to Sunday.
02:40But still, parts of eastern England receiving the best shelter and here, again, not too many showers, so a decent chance that much of the day will be dry before another area of more persistent rain approaches northern Ireland late in the day.
02:52And again, with some brightness in the east, high teens likely here, whereas further west will be in the low to mid teens and feeling cooler with the breeze.
03:00So the weather patterns have definitely changed, looking fairly changeable throughout much of next week as well.
