Qui était-il ? Comment est-il devenu le symbole incontournable de la lutte anti-apartheid en Afrique du Sud et au delà ? Mandela a d'abord cru à une lutte pacifiste avant de choisir la lutte armée. Un choix qu'il paiera au prix fort, en passant 23 ans de sa vie en prison. Et c'est à l'ombre des barreaux que d'autres se chargeront à sa place de bâtir sa légende. Avant qu'il ne devienne, voilà 30 ans, le premier Président noir de l'Afrique du Sud.10 ans après sa disparition, que dire aujourd'hui de l'héritage laissé par celui qui incarna pendant longtemps et bien au-delà de l'Afrique du Sud des valeurs de paix et de réconciliation? 00:08:37 Elle décide de s'allier avec l'autre grande force d'opposition,
00:08:41 le Parti communiste sud-africain, essentiellement composé de Blancs.

00:08:49 ils ont une vision de l'Afrique du Sud sans distinction de couleur
00:08:52 ou de race et font du slogan "Un homme, une voix"
00:08:55 le chemin à suivre vers la démocratie.
00:08:58 C'est un coup d'éclat pour l'ANC et un acte fondateur pour Mandela,
00:09:02 qui fera désormais de cet idéal non racial et démocratique
00:09:05 son cheval de bataille.
00:09:07 -Et cette déclaration a subjugué les foules.

00:09:15 quelle que soit sa couleur de peau et même aux Blancs,
00:09:19 un sentiment d'appartenance.

00:09:28 de construire cette vision d'une Afrique du Sud non raciale.

00:09:40 comme une déclaration de guerre par le gouvernement.
00:09:43 Comme tous les signataires du manifeste,
00:09:45 Mandela est arrêté et accusé d'appartenir
00:09:48 à une organisation communiste qui complote contre l'Etat,
00:09:51 une étiquette que le régime ne cessera de brandir
00:09:54 pour diaboliser l'ANC durant toute la guerre froide.
00:09:57 Cette alliance avec les communistes blancs
00:09:59 divise jusqu'au sein de son propre camp.
00:10:02 Certains militants revendiquent une Afrique du Sud
00:10:04 exclusivement noire et font scission avec l'ANC.
00:10:07 Attaqué à la fois par le pouvoir blanc
00:10:10 et par ceux qui appellent à la domination noire,
00:10:12 Mandela est déterminé à défendre l'idéal de l'ANC,
00:10:15 dont il est désormais l'un des visages les plus populaires.

00:10:34 aux yeux de Mandela et de la ligue de la jeunesse,
00:10:37 sont des moyens beaucoup plus radicaux
00:10:40 que ceux qui avaient prédominé jusque-là,

00:10:56 A Sharpesville, une ville industrielle,
00:10:58 des milliers se réunissent à la police.

00:11:05 qui ouvre feu à la foule derrière un fenêtre.

00:11:11 environ 50 et 100 ont été tués et des centaines blessés.

00:11:50 et demandent à Mandela d'entrer dans la clandestinité.

00:11:55 Mandela fait pour la première fois appel aux médias.
00:11:58 Les journalistes l'immortalisent en brûlant son passeport,
00:12:02 le symbole de l'apartheid et de la privation de liberté de son peuple.
00:12:06 -Il y a cette idée, qui j'aime, à partir des années 50,
00:12:10 que le combat politique contre l'apartheid
00:12:13 n'est pas que un combat d'idées,
00:12:15 c'est aussi un combat médiatique, d'images, symbolique.
00:12:18 On sait très bien, par exemple,
00:12:20 que la fameuse image de Mandela brûlant son passeport
00:12:23 est une image fabriquée,
00:12:25 enfin, pas au sens truqué,
00:12:27 mais une image qui a été convoquée.

00:12:31 -La communauté internationale salue la tradition non violente de l'ANC
00:12:37 en récompensant son chef, Albert Loutouli,

00:14:12 qui devient secrètement le bras armé de l'organisation

00:14:27 et qu'il ne s'arrêterait pas seulement au sabotage,

00:14:34 à l'action terroriste si la situation l'exigeait.
00:14:39 -La lutte armée allait-elle créer les conditions pour la libération
00:14:45 ou, au contraire, embraser la violence ?
00:14:49 A cette époque, les idées gandhiennes et néogandhiennes
00:14:52 disparaissaient des pages de l'histoire.

00:15:26 il parcourt un continent en pleine ébullition.

00:15:31 l'accueillent au Maroc et c'est dans l'Ethiopie d'Aïlé Sélassié

00:15:37 Mais les chefs d'Etat africains doutent de l'ANC
00:15:40 et de sa capacité à défendre la place des Noirs dans le pays.

00:16:19 en août 1962, Mandela est arrêté par la police

00:16:28 en un héros populaire, un rôle qu'il a soigneusement cultivé.
00:16:32 -Même dans la clandestinité, il cherchait la lumière
00:16:37 et c'est sans doute pour cette raison
00:16:40 qu'il a été capturé si rapidement.
00:16:43 Pour être efficace en tant qu'agent secret,
00:16:47 il faut être le plus invisible possible
00:16:49 et je crois que pour Mandela, c'était trop difficile.

00:18:02 lors d'un gigantesque coup de filet de la police.
00:18:05 Cette fois, les autorités ont trouvé les preuves
00:18:08 d'un plan visant à renverser l'Etat par la guérilla révolutionnaire.
00:18:12 Pour les accusés, Mandela en tête risque désormais la peine de mort.
00:18:16 Ce nouveau procès fait l'objet d'une médiatisation
00:18:19 sans précédent en Afrique du Sud et jusqu'en Angleterre,
00:18:22 où l'ANC, en exil, mobilise pour soutenir la cause des accusés.
00:18:25 Dos au mur, Mandela entend faire de ce procès
00:18:28 sa tribune la plus retentissante.
00:18:31 A la surprise générale, il refuse l'interrogatoire
00:18:34 et opte pour une déclaration unique

01:04:32 de jeunes engagés contre l'ANC...

01:04:38 qui rentrent en prison ou qui partent en exil.

01:04:43 c'est qu'en 76, quand il y a le réveil de la société noire,
01:04:47 parce que c'est vraiment après la période de glaciation
01:04:50 qui a suivi l'interdiction de l'ANC,
01:04:52 l'emprisonnement des leaders,
01:04:54 il y a une période pendant laquelle le régime
01:04:56 pense qu'il contrôle bien le pays.
01:04:58 76, ça se réveille,
01:04:59 ça n'est pas l'ANC qui est à la manoeuvre,
01:05:02 c'est la conscience noire, un jeune leader
01:05:04 qui s'appelle Steve Biko, qui sera tué par la police
01:05:07 au cours d'un interrogatoire,
01:05:09 et les jeunes n'adhèrent pas immédiatement à l'ANC.
01:05:12 L'ANC redeviendra par la suite le principal mouvement
01:05:16 et, effectivement, la prison est le lieu d'échange.
01:05:20 Les autorités savaient ça et avaient isolé
01:05:22 tout le groupe des leaders principaux,
01:05:25 donc Mandela, Mbeki, etc.,
01:05:28 Toivo, le Namibien,
01:05:30 étaient séparés des autres prisonniers.
01:05:32 Mais comme il y avait des prisonniers plus jeunes
01:05:35 qui faisaient le ménage, la cuisine,
01:05:37 qui transportaient des choses, etc.,
01:05:39 il se passait des messages et l'information circulait
01:05:42 et Mandela était au courant de ce qui se passait dans le pays.
01:05:46 -Il faudra peut-être la conjonction de ce mouvement
01:05:48 évoqué à l'instant et la chute, bien sûr, de l'Union soviétique

01:06:47 Il y avait, c'était mis "white accommodation only",
01:06:50 c'est-à-dire réservé aux Blancs,
01:06:52 et la Bible était en bonne place sur ma table de chevet,
01:06:56 dans la chambre.

01:07:02 L'autre raison aussi pour laquelle l'apartheid s'est effondré,
01:07:07 c'est qu'à partir du milieu des années 80,
01:07:09 il y a des négociations secrètes
01:07:12 entre l'ANC en exil,
01:07:14 mais également le petit groupe qui entoure Nelson Mandela
01:07:18 et Nelson Mandela avec le régime en place.
01:07:21 Donc, ça ne vient pas tout d'un coup
01:07:23 parce que le mur tombe.
01:07:25 C'est en fait, alors que nous,
01:07:27 enfin, peut-être pas moi, parce que j'étais trop jeune,
01:07:30 mais beaucoup étaient manifestés
01:07:34 pour que ce régime cesse,
01:07:37 pendant ce temps-là, pendant ces années,
01:07:40 ce 85-86,
01:07:42 vous avez des négociations qui se passent
01:07:46 et qui, finalement, vont aboutir
01:07:49 à ces fameuses négociations officielles
01:07:52 à partir de 91.

01:07:58 Le pays devient progressivement ingouvernable.

01:08:02 le gouvernement sud-africain impose l'état d'urgence
01:08:05 parce qu'il y a une effervescence dans le pays

01:08:10 Il y avait une organisation qui était née,
01:08:12 qui s'appelait le UDF, le Front démocratique uni,
01:08:15 qui était une sorte de façade de l'ANC, en fait,
01:08:18 mais qui regroupait des milliers d'associations locales,
01:08:22 de groupes locaux dans tout le pays
01:08:25 et qui avait véritablement rendu le pays ingouvernable.
01:08:29 -En 93, lorsque vous étiez sur place,
01:08:31 qu'est-ce qui avait été négocié,
01:08:34 qu'est-ce qui était déjà acquis
01:08:36 concernant la lutte contre l'apartheid ?
01:08:40 -Il était acquis qu'on irait vers les élections, en 94.
01:08:43 Ca, c'était acquis,
01:08:45 mais il y avait trois facteurs de risque.
01:08:47 Quand je suis arrivé, il y avait l'extrême droite africaine
01:08:51 qui menaçait de foutre la pagaille dans le pays,
01:08:54 il y avait ce que j'appelle l'extrême droite noire,
01:08:57 c'était l'Inkatha Freedom Party,
01:09:00 c'était le parti du chef Emmanuel Gossetou Boutelezi,
01:09:04 qui, lui aussi, faisait des actions d'éclat,
01:09:06 et le dernier facteur de risque,
01:09:08 c'était la persistance de quelques bantoustans.
01:09:11 J'ai été affecté dans un bantoustan
01:09:13 qui s'appelait Bofuta Swana, c'est dans le nord-ouest,
01:09:17 et là-bas, il y avait encore l'extrême droite africaine
01:09:21 qui faisait la pagaille,
01:09:22 et il y a eu des exécutions et des morts, d'ailleurs,
01:09:25 là-bas, quand j'étais là.
01:09:27 Donc, c'est trois facteurs de risque, c'était ça.
01:09:30 L'extrême droite africaine, l'extrême droite noire
01:09:33 et les bantoustans.
01:09:34 C'était des facteurs de risque, et Mandela allait arriver au pouvoir,
01:09:38 essayer de régler tous ces problèmes-là.
01:09:41 -Il devient un point d'équilibre
01:09:42 sur la scène politique, juste avant l'élection
01:09:45 à la présidence de 94. -Tout à fait.
01:09:47 Il devient un point d'équilibre, et il est aidé par...
01:09:51 un leader politique communiste,
01:09:55 qui s'appelait Joe Slovo,
01:09:57 qui, en fait, a négocié un gouvernement d'unité nationale.

01:10:03 quand on consultait les leaders de l'ANC,
01:10:05 il était hors de question qu'ils gouvernent
01:10:08 avec des gens de l'ancien régime, finalement.
01:10:12 Et c'est Joe Slovo,
01:10:14 qui a été considéré comme un terroriste,
01:10:17 communiste, et voilà... -Lui aussi.
01:10:19 -Lui aussi, qui, en fait, a trouvé ce moyen
01:10:23 pour apaiser les choses, et c'était juste après
01:10:26 l'assassinat d'un certain Chris Haney,
01:10:29 qui aurait pu faire basculer
01:10:32 le pays dans le sang, puisqu'il avait été assassiné
01:10:35 par un membre de l'extrême droite.
01:10:37 -Et Joe Slovo, pour la petite histoire,
01:10:40 c'est intéressant, c'est un juif de Lituanie, à l'origine,
01:10:45 qui devient communiste en Afrique du Sud,
01:10:48 qui a vécu en exil à Lusaka, en Zambie.
01:10:53 Sa femme a été assassinée par un colis piégé,
01:10:55 Ruth First, elle était au Mozambique.
01:10:58 Elle a été tuée par un colis qu'elle a ouvert
01:11:01 et qu'elle a posé entre ses mains.
01:11:03 Lui avait été accusé d'être un colonel du KGB.
01:11:05 Je me souviens de l'avoir interviewé en Zambie,
01:11:08 à l'époque, et il m'avait dit...
01:11:10 Le Figaro venait de l'accuser d'être un colonel du KGB,
01:11:13 le Figaro français. Il avait dit...
01:11:16 "Je suis colonel, je n'ai même pas droit à une promotion."
01:11:19 Il avait beaucoup d'humour et il a joué un rôle déterminant

01:11:41 de réconciliation nationale à travers des gestes symboliques
01:11:44 très forts, comme lors de la Coupe du monde de rugby en 1995,

01:11:51 Tout cela représentait l'Afrique du Sud,
01:11:53 dont il rêvait.
01:11:57 -Il est donc élu président de l'Afrique du Sud
01:11:59 en 1994 et là, on a le sentiment que le chantier est énorme.

01:12:05 que vous avez accordé à l'hebdomadaire Télérama
01:12:08 que les caisses étaient vides,
01:12:10 si on arrivait au pouvoir. -Bien sûr.
01:12:12 -Il a bien les manettes du pays ?
01:12:16 -Le pays est à reconstruire,
01:12:19 parce que déjà, il va falloir rassembler
01:12:21 le peuple sud-africain, qui est divisé en quatre groupes...
01:12:27 Allez, ratios, puisque c'était ça, l'apartheid, finalement.
01:12:31 Chacun vivait avec sa communauté
01:12:34 et apprenait avec...
01:12:36 Allait à l'école ou à l'université avec sa communauté.
01:12:39 Donc déjà, il faut rassembler ces personnes.
01:12:41 C'est peut-être symbolique pour nous, mais c'est important.
01:12:45 Et puis oui, quand ils sont arrivés,
01:12:47 finalement, les caisses étaient vides,
01:12:50 et c'est quelque chose
01:12:52 à laquelle l'ANC ne s'attendait pas du tout.
01:12:56 Et ça a été, en fait, une grande déception
01:12:59 quand l'ANC est arrivée au pouvoir.
01:13:02 Et le gouvernement d'unité nationale
01:13:04 n'a pas duré très longtemps, il a duré deux ans,
01:13:07 parce qu'il n'y avait pas moyen de négocier
01:13:10 au sein du pouvoir,
01:13:12 puisque vous aviez des gens du Parti nationaliste
01:13:15 qui avaient gouverné l'Afrique du Sud
01:13:18 depuis 50 ans, qui devaient se référer
01:13:21 au président de la République, Nelson Mandela, noir.
01:13:25 J'imagine que psychologiquement,
01:13:27 ça posait des problèmes.
01:13:29 Donc, en 87, l'ANC se retrouve
01:13:32 quasiment le seul parti à gouverner
01:13:36 avec l'INCATA.
01:13:38 -Le chantier est immense. -Il est immense,
01:13:40 parce qu'il y a eu l'apartheid, officiellement,
01:13:43 depuis 1948, mais le compromis...
01:13:46 -50 ans d'apartheid. -Absolument.
01:13:48 Le compromis qui a abouti à l'élection de 1980
01:13:50 est très intéressant.
01:13:52 Il y avait un gouvernement de transition
01:13:54 où tout le monde siégerait.
01:13:56 Vous aviez Mandela en tant que président,
01:13:58 un premier vice-président à l'ANC,
01:14:01 Frédéric Declare comme deuxième vice-président,
01:14:04 et vous avez, à la Sécurité,
01:14:06 le fameux...
01:14:07 Bouteilles et Zidane, je parlais tout à l'heure,
01:14:10 ministre de la Sécurité, c'était lui qui était en charge.
01:14:13 La deuxième chose, nous, on a reçu, exceptionnellement,
01:14:16 et instruction, je travaille pour les Nations unies,
01:14:20 d'aider, d'aller dans l'isoloir et d'aider les gens à voter.
01:14:23 Parce que, vous et moi, voter, ça pose aucun problème.
01:14:26 Mais quand vous n'avez jamais voté,
01:14:28 comme c'était le cas de la communauté noire,
01:14:31 ils comprenaient pas tout, c'était un scrutin unique,
01:14:34 il fallait les aider.
01:14:35 C'était très, très, très émouvant.
01:14:38 -Alors, sur l'ampleur, évidemment,
01:14:40 il y a le discours, les promesses,
01:14:42 et puis une certaine désillusion, d'ailleurs,
01:14:45 qu'on sent, qu'on perçoit,
01:14:47 dans cet extrait qu'on vient de passer, sur l'après.
01:14:50 -Oui, parce que Mandela s'était fixé
01:14:53 comme mission historique la réconciliation.
01:14:56 C'est pour ça qu'il a fait qu'un seul mandat.
01:14:59 Il a dit "je suis pas qualifié pour gérer l'économie,
01:15:02 "la reconstruction du pays, etc."
01:15:05 Place aux jeunes.
01:15:06 Et, en fait, d'une certaine manière,
01:15:08 c'est là qu'il y a un hiatus,
01:15:11 c'est que ses successeurs, un,
01:15:13 n'ont pas été à la hauteur de la hauteur
01:15:18 à laquelle il avait mis la barre,
01:15:20 pour être honnête, en termes à la fois éthiques,
01:15:22 problème de la corruption,
01:15:24 mais aussi en termes d'habileté politique.

01:16:07 Govan Bekki était un des dirigeants de la NC,
01:16:10 et Tabo représentait la NC à l'extérieur.
01:16:13 Il était régulièrement à Paris, je le voyais à l'époque,
01:16:16 où il était basé à Lusaka.
01:16:18 Il avait fait des études au Royaume-Uni,
01:16:20 il cochait toutes les cases.
01:16:22 Il était fils d'un grand dirigeant,
01:16:24 il était d'une nouvelle génération,
01:16:26 il avait la légitimité, etc.
01:16:28 Et il a été très décevant,
01:16:30 et surtout, il s'est heurté à des luttes de clans
01:16:33 à l'intérieur de la NC, et Jacob Zuma,
01:16:35 qui lui est un ancien chef des services de renseignement de la NC,
01:16:39 un prisonnier à Robben Island, l'a évincé.
01:16:41 Jacob Zuma a été, il faut bien le dire,
01:16:44 un désastre pour ce pays, puisqu'il a ouvert grand les vannes
01:16:47 de la corruption et du népotisme,
01:16:49 et il a une responsabilité énorme

01:17:15 sur l'intervention concernant l'ex-président Thabo Mbeki.

01:17:22 -Il était président entre 1999 et 2009.

01:17:27 Quand il a été élu, j'étais en Afrique du Sud.
01:17:31 Et en fait, je trouve que parfois,
01:17:33 on est un peu sévère avec lui,
01:17:35 si on compare à ce qui va se passer par la suite.
01:17:39 On a tendance à vouloir comparer
01:17:43 l'ex-président Thabo Mbeki à Nelson Mandela.
01:17:47 Deux personnalités complètement différentes,
01:17:50 n'appartenant pas à la même génération.
01:17:53 Un qui est en prison,
01:17:56 qui a peut-être pas, notamment Nelson Mandela,
01:18:00 la vision globale de ce qu'est le monde,
01:18:03 puisqu'il passe quasiment 30 ans de sa vie en prison,
01:18:07 et quelqu'un comme l'ex-président Thabo Mbeki,
01:18:10 qui a vécu à l'étranger, qui a vu les changements,
01:18:13 et qui est un petit peu déconnecté
01:18:16 de ce qui se passe en Afrique du Sud.
01:18:19 Et il a cette vision très particulière,
01:18:22 alors peut-être qu'il ne nous parle pas,
01:18:25 nous, occidentaux,
01:18:26 de ce qu'on appelle la Renaissance africaine.
01:18:29 Ce n'est pas seulement l'Afrique du Sud,
01:18:32 c'est l'ensemble du continent africain.
01:18:34 Et dans sa politique, quand on observe,
01:18:37 et j'ai travaillé sur le sujet quand j'ai fait ma thèse,
01:18:40 c'est qu'en fait, Thabo Mbeki,
01:18:42 lui, n'est pas dans cet esprit
01:18:45 de gouvernement national, peut-être de réconciliation,
01:18:49 et plutôt dans cet esprit
01:18:51 de vouloir donner toute leur place aux Africains.
01:18:55 -Il semble avoir été plus volontariste
01:18:57 que Mandela en matière de discrimination positive,
01:19:01 notamment, pour faire émerger
01:19:03 une classe moyenne noire sud-africaine,
01:19:07 notamment.
01:19:08 Néanmoins, aujourd'hui, vous disiez,
01:19:10 oui, il y a encore des traces...
01:19:12 -Il y a des traces.
01:19:14 -Cette apartheid.
01:19:15 -30 ans, c'est rien pour moi.
01:19:17 30 ans après l'élection, la première élection,
01:19:19 c'est rien dans l'histoire de l'Afrique du Sud
01:19:22 pour corriger les choses.
01:19:24 -Il y a quand même une réforme agraire,
01:19:26 discrimination positive, avec une politique...
01:19:29 -C'est le problème de l'Afrique du Sud.
01:19:31 -Mais quand on regarde... -Le social n'est pas au rendez-vous.
01:19:35 Et surtout, le problème des "homeless",
01:19:37 je dirais pas "landless",
01:19:39 c'est l'accès au logement.
01:19:43 Et ça, récemment, moi, j'étais au Cap,
01:19:46 et en repartant vers l'aéroport,
01:19:48 il y a toujours ces bidonvilles qui vous arrachent le coeur.
01:19:53 Donc, le social a été...
01:19:55 Beaucoup de Noirs, en tout cas, la majorité,
01:19:57 n'ont pas le sentiment d'en avoir fini avec l'apartheid,
01:20:01 enfin, dans sa déclinisation actuelle.
01:20:04 Donc, il y a un souci social de trouver du boulot aux gens
01:20:08 et de redistribuer la richesse,
01:20:10 parce qu'il y a une minorité de milliardaires noirs
01:20:13 qui s'est installée aux affaires.
01:20:15 Le président actuel, il est pas pauvre.
01:20:18 Donc, du coup, c'est ça.
01:20:20 La question sociale n'a pas été réglée.
01:20:22 -C'est ce que disent les indicateurs
01:20:25 que j'ai trouvés en travaillant ce dossier.
01:20:27 La moitié de la population sud-africaine
01:20:30 vivrait en dessous du seuil de pauvreté.
01:20:32 Un tiers de la population sud-africaine serait au chômage,
01:20:35 dont deux tiers des jeunes.
01:20:37 Est-ce que la situation n'est pas explosive
01:20:40 au vu de ces indicateurs ?
01:20:41 -Elle est d'autant plus explosive
01:20:43 qu'il s'est passé quelque chose.
01:20:45 Il y a eu, effectivement,
01:20:47 cette politique de discrimination positive
01:20:49 qui a créé cette classe moyenne noire,
01:20:52 cette élite noire qui a été cooptée,
01:20:55 d'une certaine manière,
01:20:57 dans le premier monde
01:20:59 qui était exclusivement blanc précédemment.
01:21:03 Aujourd'hui, quand vous allez dans les beaux quartiers
01:21:06 de Johannesburg, vous avez cette bourgeoisie noire
01:21:09 qui habite là,
01:21:10 qui, leurs enfants font de belles études,
01:21:12 ils peuvent créer des start-up, etc.
01:21:15 Vous avez ce premier monde-là
01:21:16 qui fonctionne en Afrique du Sud.
01:21:18 Et puis, vous avez l'autre moitié du pays
01:21:21 qui attend encore que les promesses de 94
01:21:23 soient tenues en termes de logement,
01:21:26 d'accès à l'eau, à l'éducation.
01:21:28 Effectivement, le Cap est un bon exemple,
01:21:30 parce que tout ce qui est derrière la montagne de la table,
01:21:35 le Cap, c'est une géographie assez particulière,
01:21:38 c'était là qu'étaient envoyés les métis et les Noirs
01:21:41 à l'époque de l'apartheid,
01:21:42 mais ils sont toujours là,
01:21:44 et les quartiers pauvres sont toujours là.
01:21:46 Donc, effectivement, il y a eu cette barrière sociale
01:21:50 qui s'est instaurée,
01:21:52 et la mobilité et l'état de l'économie paysanne
01:21:56 du pays ne permet plus aujourd'hui
01:21:57 de continuer ce volontarisme du début,
01:22:01 ce qui fait qu'aujourd'hui, c'est une situation
01:22:03 qui est explosive, parce que l'ANC
01:22:06 n'est plus le mouvement des héros
01:22:09 qui ont combattu l'apartheid
01:22:10 au sacrifice de leurs leaders et de leur vie, etc.
01:22:14 C'est aujourd'hui 30 ans d'un bilan,
01:22:16 et donc la jeunesse est assez critique,
01:22:20 à la fois vis-à-vis de l'ANC et de Mandela.
01:22:23 Vous avez une jeunesse "born free",
01:22:25 c'est-à-dire ceux qui sont nés après l'apartheid,
01:22:28 qui disent que Mandela a fait trop de compromis avec les Blancs,
01:22:31 il aurait dû faire une révolution,
01:22:33 et on serait aujourd'hui dans une autre situation.
01:22:36 -Pourtant, l'ANC est incontournable,
01:22:38 il a toujours été au pouvoir
01:22:40 depuis l'élection à la présidence de Nelson Mandela.
01:22:44 Est-ce à dire qu'il n'y a pas d'opposition,
01:22:48 un temps soit peu, crédible,
01:22:51 à mettre en face de l'ANC ?
01:22:53 -C'est pas l'ANC, le problème, en Afrique du Sud.
