A misty and murky start around Irish Sea coasts, especially on the east coast of Northern Ireland. For a large majority of areas of the UK though it should be a bright and sunny start which will continue throughout the morning and into the afternoon. High UV and grass pollen together with high temperatures throughout much of the UK. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 11/07/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Alex Deakin.
00:00Good morning. A hot one out there today. Tomorrow likely to see the peak of the heat in this current hot spell.
00:08It's not hot and sunny everywhere to start with. Quite cool across parts of Scotland.
00:12But plenty of sunshine here. A sunnier start across the highlands compared to yesterday.
00:17Mist and low cloud has been spreading out across the Irish Sea.
00:20So it's a bit misty and murky on the east coast of Northern Ireland, the coast of southwest Scotland, the Isle of Man and even parts of the coast of north and west Wales.
00:28A bit murky, but that should tend to shrink away through the day, as should any mist and low cloud around the coast of East Anglia.
00:34And then for the vast majority, it's going to be a sunny afternoon.
00:38It is going to be a little hotter than yesterday for most of us.
00:40Temperatures more widely over 30 Celsius across parts of the West Midlands, East Wales in particular.
00:45But the warmth has been extending north too.
00:48So a warmer day for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:51Temperatures widely into the mid 20s, the high 20s across some parts of northern Scotland.
00:56Coastal always be a little cooler where we see a sea breeze developing.
01:00But UV levels will be high today, as will the grass pollen in many places too.
01:06So something to be aware of for hay fever sufferers.
01:09Now, as we go through the evening, it stays fine.
01:11A balmy summer's evening for most.
01:13Notice the mist and low cloud and sea fog areas start to get bigger again through the night.
01:17And we're likely to see a bit more, just getting close to the East Coast as we head to the early hours of Saturday morning.
01:23So providing a bit of a great start to the weekend for some here.
01:26It will be a warm start as well, with temperatures more widely holding up into the mid or even high teens,
01:32particularly warm night across the northwest of Scotland.
01:35And it will be another hot and sunny day to come tomorrow for most.
01:39Again, early on, the East Coast of Northern Ireland, East Coast of Scotland, East Coast of England,
01:43likely to be a little bit murky with haar and fret and sea fog.
01:47It should melt away, I suspect, certainly from the coast sticking around out in the sea.
01:54But I suspect many coastal areas will turn sunnier through the day.
01:57But always the threat of it just drifting back on shore,
02:00particularly as we start to see the breeze picking up from the North Sea too.
02:03For most, though, the winds are light.
02:05And tomorrow, as I mentioned, will probably be the peak of the heat.
02:09Again, this zone across East Wales, the West Midlands, down through Gloucestershire, Herefordshire,
02:14down towards Somerset, over 30 Celsius, one or two spots, 32, maybe 33, perhaps even a 34.
02:20The coast will be a little bit cooler, especially East Coast,
02:23if some of that mist and haar and sea fret does stick around.
02:27But generally, temperatures, again, a little bit higher than today's by a degree or so.
02:32Not as hot on Sunday.
