04:10Although the hereafter is better, more lasting.
04:17Verily, this is the former scriptures.
04:20The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.
04:27This was the translation of the Qur'an, Suratul Al-A'la, in English.
04:33Now, I'd like to invite Brother Che Umar to give a message to us.
04:41Please come, Brother Che Umar.
04:44It's our pleasure to have Dr. Zakir Naik with us today.
04:59It's really an honorable day for us as Korean Muslims to host an intellectual and also a very famous Islamic scholar from India.
05:12We thank the Korean government, Korean Muslim Federation, International Organization of Masjid, Muslim World League, Incheon Islamic Center, MSAC, Tejan Islamic Center, Salam Nuri, and all the volunteers for their help in preparations for this important lecture.
05:31We welcome all Muslims and non-Muslim visitors.
05:35Come here, join us in this wonderful lecture by Dr. Zakir Naik.
05:40And we hope peace to all of you.
05:43Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
05:50Thank you so much for your speech, Brother Che.
05:53And now I'd like to invite Dr. Qasim, who is President of Islamic Circle of South Korea, which is ICSK, to come to stage and introduce Dr. Zakir Naik.
06:11Please come to the stage, Brother.
06:14Bismillahirrahmanirrahmanirrahim.
06:22Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
06:24Introducing the personality of the stature of Dr. Zakir Naik is not needed at all, but just to have an honor and to keep the formality, I will just briefly introduce Dr. Zakir Naik.
06:39Being a medical doctor by professional training, he is much more renowned as a dynamic international Islamic orator on Islamic beliefs and the comparative religion.
06:52Since the foundation of Islamic Research Foundation in 1991 and being as a president for the last two decades,
07:01Dr. Zakir Naik is continuously involved in presenting the clear Islamic view to the whole world and also removing the misconceptions regarding Islam.
07:12And he is serving Islam in that way.
07:14And he not only used the references from Quran and authentic hadiths and different religious scriptures,
07:20but also he supports from the scientific data, sociological publication, as well as critical reasoning.
07:27So he makes his case in front of the whole globe more impactful.
07:33And another big popularity of his program is his way to answer the challenging questions by the audience in a convincing manner.
07:43And this thing turns this whole program into from a monologue to a dialogue.
07:49So we can also see in the format of the program.
07:51For the last 20 years, Dr. Zakir Naik gave more than 2,000 public talks all over the world.
07:59And even one of his last talks in 2012, there were more than 1 million people attended that talk in India.
08:06And that was the biggest of all the religious gatherings ever happened.
08:10And just considering the population of India has more than a billion people,
08:15Dr. Zakir Naik is ranked among the 82 in the 100 most influential personalities in India,
08:22as well as he is ranked 3 in the top 10 spiritual mentors in India.
08:28Besides that, he also ranked 70 among the 500 most influential Muslim personalities.
08:34And another characteristic of Dr. Zakir Naik is interfaith dialogue to make the difference between different religions more narrow
08:44and also clearing the message of Islam.
08:47And he is also very famous in conducting that kind of talks.
08:51And one of his talks was very famous in 2000 by Dr. William Campbell in the U.S.
08:56And it adds a lot of appreciation and highly acclaimed.
08:59Besides that, the late Sheikh Ahmed Ditaad named him Ditaad Plus.
09:04And he said that whatever I have achieved in 40 years, Dr. Zakir Naik achieved that in only 4 years of effort.
09:13Dr. Zakir Naik also received numerous awards around the globe.
09:16And I will mention just two of them.
09:18First one he received in this year, in 2015, the King Faisal International Award.
09:23And he received almost a quarter million dollar and he donated all this amount to the Peace TV Network.
09:30Similarly, he also received a highest prestigious award in UAE.
09:34And he also received the quarter million U.S. dollar.
09:37Also he gave and donated to the Peace TV Network.
09:41Besides that, among the acceptance and popularity of Dr. Zakir Naik in social media and audiences,
09:47his just Facebook page has more than 6 million likes in only 18 months.
09:54And the Peace TV Network, which was started in 2006,
09:59it has now more than 200 million viewership.
10:02200 million viewership.
10:03And 25% of those are the non-Muslims.
10:07It's a great achievement.
10:08And then, currently, the Peace TV Network is operating in three languages
10:12and they have planned to increase it to 10 more international languages.
10:16So, I hope that you will enjoy his speech
10:19and you will take some message from him regarding Islam
10:22and you can also discuss this message with your non-Muslim colleagues.
10:27Thank you very much.
10:33Thank you, Dr. Kasim, for your introducing Dr. Zakir Naik.
10:39And now I'd like to welcome Dr. Zakir Naik to come to the stage
10:46and enlighten us on the topic of does God exist.
10:53Please welcome Dr. Zakir Naik.
11:01As-salamu alaykum.
11:26As-salamu alaykum alaykum alaykum.
11:56I welcome all of you
12:04with the Islamic greetings.
12:06As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi barakatuh.
12:10May peace, mercy and blessings of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
12:14of Almighty God be on all of you.
12:16It's a pleasure for me to be in Korea, especially in the city of Incheon.
12:27I was looking forward to come to this country and Allah has made it possible.
12:31The topic of this afternoon's talk is, does God exist?
12:40This talk of mine is mainly for four categories of people.
12:50Number one, for those who do not believe in the existence of God.
12:57And when I was reading the national census of South Korea, which was done in 2006,
13:09in the statistic that was mentioned, that 46.9% of the South Koreans do not believe in a religion,
13:17do not believe in God.
13:18Religion, according to Oxford, means a belief in a superhuman controlling power,
13:24a personal God or gods that deserve worship.
13:26So according to the national census of 2006 of South Korea,
13:3146.9% of the South Koreans do not believe in religion, do not believe in God.
13:39So first type of people this talk is addressed to is this 46.9% of the South Koreans.
13:45Those who do not believe in God, the atheists.
13:49The second category of people to which this talk of mine is addressed
13:54is to those who have a doubt regarding the existence of God.
14:00They aren't sure regarding the existence of God or they are silent.
14:06They can be called as agnostics.
14:11And the same national census of South Korea in 2006 said that Buddhists were 22.8%.
14:22And one Buddhists, they were 0.2%.
14:26Both put together approximately 23%.
14:29And Buddha never spoke about God.
14:36He was silent.
14:37He did not comment whether there was God or he did not comment there was no God.
14:42He was silent.
14:43More of an agnostic.
14:45Though I know many Buddhists have made a God out of him,
14:47but if you read the scriptures, the Dhamma, Padda, and the Buddha scriptures,
14:51it is more of an agnostic religion.
14:53As far as God is there, there is no particular concept of God like which is there
14:57in the religions like Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc.
15:03So second category of people are the agnostic or those who are not sure about the existence of God
15:06or those who are silent regarding the existence of God.
15:08And even Confucianism, in the census, 0.3% are Confucianist people, somewhat similar,
15:15more of an ethical religion.
15:17So all put together, about 23.3%.
15:20The third category to which my talk is addressed today is to those people who believe in God
15:30but may not have the correct concept of God.
15:33They believe in God but do not have a correct concept of God.
15:38So this talk of mine, inshallah, will convey to them the correct concept of God, inshallah.
15:43And the National Census of 2006 of South Korea tells us that 18.3% of the South Korean population
15:55they are Protestants and 10.9% are Catholics.
15:59Both put together is 29.2% are Christians.
16:06My talk is addressed to them also.
16:08And 0.5% are other religions.
16:13The fourth category to whom my talk is addressed is to those people who believe in God
16:19and have the correct concept of God but may not be able to convince the first three categories
16:26regarding the existence of God or regarding the correct concept of God.
16:31And I am told that out of these 0.5% of the South Koreans who have other religions,
16:38majority of them are Muslims, maybe 0.3% to 0.4%.
16:42I am told that over 150,000 to 200,000 people in Korea are Muslims.
16:50So in this talk, I will be addressing the Atheists, the Agnostics,
16:55the people who believe in God but do not have the correct concept of God.
16:57And those people who have the correct concept of God will tell them how to prove
17:01to the first three categories regarding the existence of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
17:04of Almighty God and about the correct concept of Allah.
17:08Whenever I meet an atheist who does not believe in the existence of God,
17:15the first thing I do is I congratulate him.
17:18People may wonder, why is Zakir congratulating an atheist?
17:23The reason I congratulate the atheist is because he is thinking.
17:30Most of the other people, he is a Christian,
17:33your father is a Christian.
17:34He is a Jew, your father is a Jew.
17:36He is a Hindu, your father is a Hindu.
17:38Many Muslims are Muslim, your father is a Muslim.
17:41This atheist is thinking and he says there is no God.
17:47The reason I congratulate him is because he has said the first part of the Islamic shahada,
17:55the first part of the Islamic creed, la ilaha, there is no God.
18:00So the only thing I have to do is illallah but Allah, which I shall do inshallah.
18:05And then Muhammad Rasulullah, the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
18:08is the messenger of Allah.
18:11To the other non-Muslims, first I have to prove to them that the God they are worshipping is wrong.
18:17And then prove to them about the correct concept of God.
18:20Here, half my job is done.
18:22He has already said the first part of the Islamic creed,
18:25first part of the Islamic shahada, la ilaha, there is no God.
18:29So half my job is done.
18:31It becomes easier for me to convince the atheist
18:35as compared to convincing a person who believes in the wrong God.
18:44Whenever I meet the atheist,
18:46I ask him,
18:48what is the definition of God?
18:55For anyone to say
18:58that so and so thing does not exist,
19:04he should know the definition of so and so.
19:07If he does not know the definition of so and so,
19:10he cannot say so and so doesn't exist.
19:12So if anyone says,
19:13God does not exist,
19:15he should know the definition of God.
19:18Otherwise, he cannot say,
19:19God does not exist.
19:21For example,
19:22if I say this is a book,
19:29for anyone to say this is not a book,
19:34he should know the definition of a book.
19:36If he does not know the definition of a book,
19:41he cannot say this is not a book.
19:44Some people may argue and say,
19:49no,
19:49if I know the definition of the thing
19:51you are asking,
19:54I need not know the definition of a book.
19:56For example,
19:57if I say this is a column,
20:02for you to say this is not a column,
20:06you have to know the definition of column.
20:08Somebody will tell me,
20:10no,
20:10brother Zakir,
20:11I know this is a pen.
20:12So because I know this is a pen,
20:14I need not know the definition of a column
20:17and I can say this is not a column.
20:19This logic is not correct.
20:21Most of the time,
20:22it may be correct,
20:23but not always.
20:25For you to say this is not a column,
20:28you have to know the definition of column.
20:30Only by knowing this is a pen,
20:33your answer,
20:35saying that this is not a column
20:36because I know this is a pen,
20:38your answer sometime may be wrong,
20:39sometime may be right.
20:41Because column means in Arabic
20:44and Urdu,
20:45a pen.
20:46Colum in Arabic means pen.
20:49Colum in Urdu also means pen.
20:52So if you did not know
20:53the definition of column,
20:55you say,
20:55no,
20:55no,
20:55this is not a column,
20:56this is a pen.
21:00That is the reason logically
21:01for you to say,
21:03this is not a column,
21:04you should know the definition of column.
21:06You may know this is a pen,
21:08but the moment you come to know column and pen are same,
21:10then you will not say this is not a column.
21:12Then you say,
21:13yes,
21:13this is a column.
21:14Therefore,
21:14to say so and so thing doesn't exist,
21:18you should know the definition of so and so.
21:21So similarly,
21:22when atheist says,
21:24God does not exist,
21:26first thing I ask him,
21:27what is the definition of God?
21:29If he doesn't know the definition of God,
21:33he cannot say,
21:34God doesn't exist.
21:35You know why?
21:40The atheist,
21:41he sees around himself,
21:44that the God,
21:45the other people are worshipping,
21:47that God requires to eat,
21:51that God requires rest,
21:53that God requires sleep,
21:56the God requires help,
21:59the God that can die,
22:01he says,
22:01I don't believe in such a God.
22:05Maybe having parents who are religious,
22:07maybe having friends who are religious,
22:09but his mind,
22:11his logic doesn't accept,
22:14that how can,
22:15someone who requires to eat like me,
22:18someone who requires to sleep like me,
22:21someone who requires rest like me,
22:22that person can be God.
22:27How can a person be a God who requires help?
22:30How can a person be a God who can die?
22:33So that is the reason he says,
22:34I do not believe in God.
22:37For example,
22:39if someone tells me,
22:41I do not believe in Islam,
22:43which is the religion of terrorism.
22:46I do not believe in Islam,
22:48which is a religion against human rights.
22:51I do not believe in Islam,
22:53which is the religion,
22:54which is against the rights of women.
22:56I do not believe in Islam,
22:58which is an illogical religion.
23:00I do not believe in Islam,
23:01which is an unscientific religion.
23:03I tell him,
23:05even I do not believe in Islam,
23:07if it is a religion of terrorism.
23:10Even I do not believe in Islam,
23:11if it is a religion against human rights.
23:13Even I do not believe in Islam if it's a religion against the rights of women.
23:18Even I do not believe in Islam if it's an illogical religion.
23:21Even I don't believe in Islam if it's an unscientific religion.
23:25But I know the correct concept of Islam.
23:31What he is doing, he is rejecting the false concept of Islam, which is propagated by the media.
23:38This person, this non-Muslim, he is against the pseudo-Islam.
23:43The Islam, which is spread by the media, which is not the correct definition of Islam.
23:49I will tell him, but I know Islam.
23:52That's the reason I believe in Islam, which is a religion against terrorism.
23:58And one verse of the Quran is sufficient to prove my point.
24:02It's mentioned in the Quran in Surah Maidah chapter 5, verse number 32.
24:05That if anyone kills any other human being, unless it be for murder or for spreading corruption in the land,
24:12it is as though he has killed the whole of humanity.
24:15And if anyone saves a single human being, it is as though he has saved the whole nation.
24:19The Quran says if any human being, whether Muslim or non-Muslim,
24:23kills any other innocent human being, whether Muslim or non-Muslim,
24:26it is as though he has killed the whole of humanity.
24:28And if any human being saves any other human being, it is as though he has saved the whole of nation.
24:33This one verse of the Quran is sufficient to prove
24:37That Islam is against terrorism
24:39There is no other religion
24:41On the face of the earth
24:42Which has this statement
24:44There is no other philosophical book
24:46On the face of the earth
24:48I am a student of comparative religion
24:50Which says that if you kill one innocent human being
24:52You have killed the whole of humanity
24:54And if you save one human being
24:55You have saved the whole of humanity
24:57I believe in Islam
25:02Because I know Islam is not a religion against human rights
25:06It's mentioned in the Quran in Surah Hujurat chapter 49 verse number 13
25:11It says
25:12O humankind we have created you from single pair of male and female
25:24And have divided you into nations and tribes
25:28So that you shall recognize each other
25:30Not that you shall despise each other
25:32And the most honored
25:33In the sight of Almighty God
25:36Is the person who has taqwa
25:37The only criteria for judgment
25:39In Islam
25:41No human being is superior to the other human being
25:44Because of sex
25:45Because of wealth
25:46Because of age
25:46Because of color
25:47The only way you are superior is by taqwa
25:50It is by God consciousness
25:51It is by righteousness
25:52It is by piety
25:53This is talking about human rights
25:56I believe in Islam
26:00Because I know Islam is a religion
26:03Which gives rights to the women
26:05I've given the talk on women rights in Islam
26:09Which throws a lot of detail on this topic
26:12I believe in Islam
26:14Because I know Islam is a religion
26:16Which is a logical religion
26:18Therefore it says
26:20That will not the men of understanding take heed
26:22Will they not then believe
26:24Afala you minun
26:28I believe in Islam
26:30Because Islam
26:32Is the most scientific religion
26:34Which I discuss in my talk
26:37So this non-Muslim
26:40Who is influenced by the media
26:42Is rejecting the wrong picture of Islam
26:45Which even I reject
26:47The media
26:49Is
26:51Bombarding misconception about Islam
26:54Which I dealt yesterday
26:55In the city of Dijon
26:57On the topic misconception about Islam
26:59The same way these atheists
27:02Because they do not know the correct concept of God
27:05They are rejecting the concept of God
27:08Which is prevalent in most parts of the world
27:10That God requires to eat
27:11God requires to rest
27:13God requires to sleep
27:15God requires help
27:16God is not capable of everything
27:19God doesn't know
27:20God that can die
27:23So he is rejecting
27:25The false God
27:26La Ilaha
27:27Which is the first part of the Islamic Shahada
27:30That there is no God
27:31The second part is
27:34The first thing I will do is
27:37I will present to him
27:39The correct concept of God
27:41The best reply
27:44That any Muslim
27:46Can give
27:47Regarding the concept of Almighty God
27:49Regarding the concept of Allah
27:51Subhanahu wa ta'ala
27:52Is quote
27:53Surah Ikhlas
27:54Chapter number 112
27:56Verse number 1 to 4
27:57Which says
27:58Say
28:01He is Allah
28:03One and only
28:04Allah
28:05The absolute and eternal
28:08He begets not
28:11Nor is the begotten
28:11There is nothing like him
28:15This is a four line definition
28:16Of Allah
28:17Subhanahu wa ta'ala
28:18Given in the glorious Quran
28:19If any candidate you say is God
28:22If that candidate fits in the four line definition
28:25We Muslims have got no objection
28:27In accepting that candidate as God
28:29The first is
28:30Kul wallah
28:32Say there is Allah one and only
28:35Allah
28:36The absolute and eternal
28:38He begets not
28:41Nor is the begotten
28:42There is nothing like him
28:45This is a four line definition
28:46Of Allah
28:47Subhanahu wa ta'ala
28:48Of almighty God
28:49Given in the glorious Quran
28:50Any person saying
28:52That so and so candidate is God
28:54If that candidate fits in the four line definition
28:57We Muslims have got no objection
28:59In accepting that candidate as God
29:01This Surah Ikhlas is the litmus test
29:04It is the touchstone of theology
29:07Theo means God
29:09Logic means study
29:10Theology means study of God
29:12Surah Ikhlas is the touchstone of theology
29:15You will be knowing the meaning of a touchstone
29:18If you want to buy or sell gold jewellery
29:22What do you do
29:23You go to a goldsmith
29:24And the goldsmith verifies how pure the gold is
29:29He takes your gold jewellery
29:30And rubs it against a stone called a touchstone
29:33Depending upon the color
29:35He tells you that this is 24 karat gold
29:38Or he may say it is 18 karat gold
29:42Or he may say it is 16 karat gold
29:44Or he may say it is not gold at all
29:47Because all that glitters is not gold
29:50Surah Ikhlas is the touchstone of theology
29:54Whichever God you are worshipping
29:56Put him to the test of Surah Ikhlas
29:58If that God passes the test
30:00He is a true God
30:01Otherwise he is a false God
30:02For example
30:06There are some human beings
30:08Who consider Bhagawan Rajneesh as God
30:10Once a Hindu during question and answer session
30:14Asked me
30:15Brother Zakir
30:16We Hindus
30:17Don't consider Bhagawan Rajneesh to be God
30:19I never said
30:20Hindus believe Bhagawan Rajneesh is God
30:23I've read the Hindu scriptures
30:24Nowhere do the Hindu scriptures say
30:26That Bhagawan Rajneesh is God
30:28I said some human beings
30:30Believe that Bhagawan Rajneesh is God
30:32Let's put
30:33This Bhagawan Rajneesh
30:35To the test of Surah Ikhlas
30:37The first is
30:39Say
30:42He is Allah and only
30:44Was Bhagawan Rajneesh one and only
30:47There are many
30:50Human beings
30:52Who have claimed to be
30:54God
30:55Especially the country where I come from India
30:57Thousands of men have claimed to be God
30:59He is not the only one
31:00Let's go to the next test
31:03Allah Hussamad
31:05Allah the absolute and eternal
31:07Was Rajneesh absolute and eternal
31:10When we read his autobiography
31:12He writes in his autobiography
31:14That he was suffering from asthama
31:16From chronic backache
31:18From diabetes mellitus
31:19Imagine almighty God suffering from asthama
31:22Chronic backache
31:23From diabetes mellitus
31:24The third test is
31:28Lamulad or Lamulad
31:29He begets not
31:31No is begotten
31:32We know that Bhagawan Rajneesh
31:35He was born
31:36In Madhya Pradesh
31:38He had a mother and father
31:39And in the year 1981
31:41He goes to America
31:43And in the state of Oregon
31:46He starts his own village
31:48Called as Rajneeshpuram
31:50And there
31:51He takes
31:52Tens of thousands of Americans
31:53For a ride
31:54Later on
31:55The American government
31:57Alists him
31:57And puts him behind bars
31:59And Rajneesh
32:01He alleges
32:02That the American government
32:04Gave me slow poisoning
32:05Imagine
32:06Almighty God
32:07Being slow poisoned
32:08And later on
32:10In 1985
32:11The American government
32:13Throws him out of the country
32:14He comes back to India
32:15In the city of Pune
32:17Where he had his own center
32:18He goes
32:19And again
32:20Names it
32:21Osho commune
32:22And if you go to a center
32:24In Pune
32:24The Osho commune
32:25And if you go to a Samadhi
32:28Samadhi is after a person dies
32:32They burn
32:32And the ashes are kept there
32:34When you go to a Samadhi
32:35It is mentioned on the stone
32:37On the Samadhi
32:38Bhagawan Rajneesh
32:39Osho
32:40Never born
32:41Never died
32:43But visited the earth
32:44From the 11th of December
32:461931
32:47To the 19th of January
32:491990
32:50Never born
32:51Never died
32:52But visited the earth
32:54From the 11th of December
32:551931
32:56To the 19th of January
32:581990
32:58They forgot to mention
33:00On his Samadhi
33:01That he was not
33:02Given visas
33:03To 21
33:04Different countries of the world
33:05Imagine Almighty God
33:07Coming in this world
33:08To visit the world
33:09And requires visas
33:10And the Ag Bishop of Greece said
33:14If you don't remove Rajneesh
33:15Out of this country
33:17We will burn his house
33:18And the house of his disciples
33:19And the last test
33:21That there is nothing like him
33:25The moment you can compare God
33:27To anything in this world
33:28He is not God
33:29There is nothing like him
33:31Do you know Rajneesh
33:33Like the normal human beings
33:35That one nose
33:35One mouth
33:36Two eyes
33:37Two ears
33:38Two hands
33:39White beard
33:40The moment you can compare God
33:42To anything in this world
33:43He is not God
33:45For example
33:49If someone says
33:51Almighty God
33:52Is thousand times
33:53Stronger than
33:53Anil Swashniger
33:54You know Anil Swashniger
33:56The person who got the title
33:57Mr. Universe
33:57The strongest man in the universe
33:59Mr. World
34:00The strongest man in the world
34:01The moment you can compare God
34:03To anything in this world
34:04Whether it be
34:05Anil Swashniger
34:06Whether it be
34:07Dara Singh
34:08Whether it be King Kong
34:09Whether it be a thousand times
34:10Or whether it be a million times
34:11The moment you can compare God
34:13To anything in this world
34:14He is not God
34:15There is nothing like him
34:18This is the four line definition
34:20Of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
34:21Which is given in the Quran
34:23If any person
34:24Says so and so person is God
34:26If he fits in this four line definition
34:28We Muslims
34:29Have got no objection
34:30In accepting
34:31That person to be God
34:33So I would like to
34:34Address this
34:35To the third category of people
34:37Who believe in God
34:39Whichever God you believe in
34:41Put that God
34:43To the test of Suray class
34:45If the God you are worshipping
34:47Passes the test of Suray class
34:49He is a true God
34:51If he does not pass the test of Suray class
34:54He is a false God
34:55There may be many people who believe in God
35:00So please
35:01Think logically
35:03Your God should not be a person
35:07Who requires rest
35:07A person who requires sleep
35:09A person who requires to eat
35:11The person who requires help of others
35:13Your God should not be someone who can die
35:17If he passes this four line definition
35:22Of Suray class
35:23He is a true God
35:24So anyone
35:25Who believes in a God
35:26Will surely logically
35:29Agree
35:30That this is the correct concept of God
35:32And now
35:35The atheists
35:37Many of them
35:39Not most
35:42After they know the correct concept of God
35:45They may change their view
35:48Whether God exists or not
35:49But
35:51Most of the atheists
35:53Majority of the atheists
35:55Today in the world
35:56They believe
35:59Science is ultimate
36:01They will tell
36:05Brother Zakir
36:07You prove to us
36:08The existence of God scientifically
36:11And we will believe in God
36:12Because today
36:13Is the age
36:14Of science and technology
36:16You prove to us
