00:00Hello there.
00:01Good afternoon.
00:02Dull.
00:03Damp.
00:04Dreary.
00:05All words that many of us could be using to describe the weather this weekend.
00:09Low pressure is in charge across the UK, quite a tight squeeze in the isobars is providing
00:14a noticeable brisk breeze around, and these weather fronts are also providing outbreaks
00:18of rain.
00:19Some of those could be on the heavy side for parts of Cornwall, particularly the Channel
00:22Islands, this afternoon.
00:24We do still have a rain warning in force for the first part of this afternoon across western
00:27Scotland.
00:28We've been here recently, so some localised disruption is possible as well.
00:33With that breeze and the rain, it is going to be feeling fairly cool in the west, highs
00:37around 15, 16 degrees Celsius here, but over towards the east, we do have the slightly greater
00:43chance of seeing a few brighter, maybe even sunnier spells breaking.
00:47So eastern Scotland, eastern England, even parts of eastern Wales as well.
00:51Once that sunshine comes through, we could see highs closer towards 22, 24, maybe even
00:5625 degrees Celsius.
00:59Despite that, though, it is going to be feeling relatively humid for many of us.
01:03That will certainly affect the feel of things throughout today.
01:07It is those eastern areas that will hold on to the greatest chance of some clearer spells
01:12into this evening as well.
01:13For many other areas, we will retain that cloudy, damp theme.
01:17Most of those outbreaks of rain will be light this evening, but there is the potential that
01:22we start to see them intensifying across Wales into northern England during the second half
01:26of the night.
01:27With the cloud, the breeze and the rain, though, it is going to be a mild night for many of
01:31us feeling quite muggy in places.
01:33A lot of us could see temperatures holding around 15, 16, maybe even locally higher in a
01:38few spots as we start off Sunday morning.
01:42Worth watching out for some quite heavy downpours across England as this system pushes its way
01:47south eastwards during the day.
01:49There is potential that those turn thundery, even with some hail in the mixture, and those
01:53sharp downpours could come on a quite short notice.
01:55A few showers will continue to drift their way in across Scotland and Northern Ireland as
02:00well as that brisk breeze continues.
02:02But it's now coming in from a northwesterly direction, and so that should start feeding
02:06in some fresher conditions that is going to knock those temperatures back down a little
02:10further on Sunday as well.
02:12Highs now around 18 to 24 degrees Celsius.
02:18Those showers will continue on and off as we head into Sunday evening, retaining that
02:22fairly damp, cloudy theme for most of us as we end off the weekend.
02:27There is the chance that we see further areas of rain just slipping into the north west
02:31next week, but generally the theme is that we will start to see high pressure building
02:35in from the azores and stretching in from the south west.
02:39For many of us, those showers will become further and farther between.
02:43The sunshine should break through a touch more, and there is increasing signs that those temperatures
02:48will be climbing as we head towards the back end of next week as well.
02:52Obviously we'll keep you up to date on all of that, so do follow us on social media for
02:58all the latest updates.
02:59And we'll see you again later on.
03:01Bye-bye.
