00:00Hello there, good afternoon. This weekend certainly got off to quite a lively start.
00:06Even from Friday evening, we saw an intense area of thunderstorms moving in from the south.
00:11This system brought a month's worth of rain to parts of Kent in just the space of a couple of hours.
00:16We recorded around 20,000 to 30,000 lightning strikes, though most of those were over the sea.
00:22An area of further thunderstorms and intense downpours has been spreading into western areas to start off Saturday morning as well.
00:28These will continue to affect parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England and increasingly areas of Scotland as we head throughout the day.
00:34And we do still have yellow thunderstorm warnings in force until this evening, so please do take care.
00:40Some hail, strong gusty winds are possible at times.
00:43A scattering of showers for other areas of Western England and Wales this afternoon, but increasingly across southern regions we're going to be seeing some sunny spells developing.
00:51And in that sunshine, it will be feeling pleasantly warm, not quite seeing the highs that we saw on Friday, but still 25 to 27 degrees Celsius in the east of England, despite that breeze.
01:03Our area of more persistent rain in the north will provide for a fairly damp and dreary evening to come here.
01:09But increasingly as we head into the night, things will slowly be easing off and the rain will be turning lighter and patchier, certainly come after midnight.
01:17And elsewhere, there will be some clear spells developing, a few mists and fog patches are possible over the hills and around some of the coasts as well, but nothing too exceptionally dense.
01:26It will be less muggy than some recent nights, but certainly not going to be chilly by any means.
01:30Most of us will be holding up quite comfortably in double-digit figures to start off Sunday morning.
01:35And as we move into the second half of the weekend, we are going to see another area of rain just slip its way into the northwest of the UK.
01:43This though, certainly less intense than the rain that we've seen around on Saturday.
01:47Some lighter outbreaks for the regions here.
01:49And a few showers developing for central England, pushing into the southeast into the afternoon.
01:54But a nice slice of sunshine developing for those in between.
01:57And again, in that sunshine, it will be feeling pleasantly warm.
02:00Temperatures down by a couple of degrees, but still 23 to 25 degrees Celsius is very comfortable for the time of year.
02:07Underneath the more persistent cloud for Northern Ireland and Scotland, temperatures generally around mid to high teens here.
02:14A few spots of rain could still linger as we head into Sunday evening.
02:18But generally, we are starting to see this trend of things slowly easing and settling down.
02:23And despite the chance of some further cloud and rain across the northwestern regions into the start of next week,
02:28it is increasing the sunny spells that will be becoming more dominant and things generally staying quite fine and settled.
02:35Temperatures as well comfortably around average, if not starting to climb above average once again, once we reach the middle part of next week.
02:43We'll have plenty more updates, of course, on all of that on our YouTube channel.
02:46So do subscribe for those.
02:48Otherwise, we'll see you again very soon and enjoy the rest of your day.
