00:00Hello there, hope you've had a wonderful weekend.
00:04We are transitioning into this new week on quite a showery theme, all courtesy of an
00:08area of low pressure set just to the north of the UK.
00:12And these frontal systems transitioning west to east are continuing to filter in those
00:16showers for many regions.
00:18Some of those could be on the heavy side, maybe even the odd rumble of thunder, particularly
00:23across northern regions.
00:24There's the chance though that many of us could see a touch of rain during this forthcoming
00:28night.
00:29It's pushing in on quite a brisk westerly wind, and those winds are also filtering in some
00:34fresher conditions.
00:35So after quite a few humid, sticky nights recently, it should hopefully be a tad more comfortable
00:40for sleeping for many of us.
00:42Towns and cities in the north generally dropping back to 10, 13 degrees Celsius, a touch milder
00:46towards the south, overnight lows of 16 for the likes of London and Southampton.
00:52Those winds will pick up in strength on Monday, particularly around the northern isles where
00:56they could reach gale strength along coastal districts, and some longer spells of rain will
01:00push through here.
01:01A scattering of showers continuing for northern and western regions, but they'll tend to be
01:05lighter tomorrow compared to those we have seen around today.
01:09And actually, if you're to the east of higher ground, you may manage to stay largely dry.
01:13The most prolonged sunshine there will be across the southern half of the UK, and it should
01:16feel pleasant in that sunshine, particularly if you're out of the breeze, temperatures peaking
01:20at around 24 degrees Celsius, 16 to 18 further north and west.
01:27As we transition from Monday into Tuesday, we're going to see another frontal system just slip
01:32its way in from the west.
01:34You'll notice quite a tight squeeze in the isobars means we're holding on to that brisk
01:37westerly wind in accompaniment with this.
01:40It will be bringing some longer spells of rain, particularly heavy along some western hills.
01:44Again, those to the east may manage to stay largely dry, but there'll be more of a cloud
01:49around in general on Tuesday, perhaps low enough to provide some fog around the coasts and
01:53moors down towards the southwest.
01:56A slight change in our wind direction, though, to a southwesterly means the humidity will also
02:01be rising again, particularly for southern regions of the UK, and those temperatures could
02:06also climb up a touch more, up to 26 degrees Celsius for some towns and cities.
02:12Generally further towards the north, it will be reasonably similar in terms of those temperatures
02:16on Tuesday, again 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
02:19We'll have plenty more updates on what you can expect throughout the rest of the week, of
02:23course.
02:24So do stay tuned for those, and we'll see you again very soon.
02:26Bye-bye.
