00:00Hello again. We do have some dry weather on offer this weekend, but there will also be some showery bursts of rain to watch out for as well.
00:08Let's start off, though, looking at the bigger picture. We still have a weak front pushing its way southeastwards across us.
00:13It's not bringing a huge amount of rain, but the other thing I wanted to draw your attention to is this area of high pressure.
00:20It's trying to build from the Azores, and it's trying to dominate our weather, but it's not going to push its way across the whole country.
00:27As a result, we will still see a couple of frontal systems making their way, particularly towards northern parts as we go through Saturday into Sunday.
00:35So we are going to see some wetter weather towards the north during the latter part of the weekend as well.
00:40But back to the here and now, and like I said, there is a front lying across kind of from northern England down through Wales and southwest England to start the night.
00:47It edges a bit further southeast, but it doesn't make a huge amount of progress, but it's not bringing a huge amount of rain either.
00:53Just a bit more cloud for some places and just some drizzly bursts here and there.
00:57Further north and west across Scotland, Northern Ireland, behind the front, there will be some breaks in the cloud developing,
01:02but also a few scattered showers coming in from the northwest too.
01:06Meanwhile, ahead of the front towards the southeast, a drier picture here, often clear skies.
01:12But despite the clear skies, because we do have quite high humidity at the moment, temperature's not dropping a huge amount,
01:18maybe a little bit fresh across some eastern parts of Scotland, northeast England,
01:21but most places seeing temperatures holding up in the mid, possibly even high teens Celsius.
01:26As well as that, because of the humidity, there could be some mist and fog patches across the southeast first thing on Saturday morning.
01:32But they're going to quite quickly clear.
01:33That front I mentioned earlier does continue its way eastwards.
01:36It's kind of bringing the focus for some bursts of rain across parts of the Midlands, maybe into Yorkshire early on.
01:44But as it all drifts its way eastwards, it's going to break up, turn a bit more showery.
01:48But then into the afternoon, there's the potential for some of these showery bursts to turn a bit heavier,
01:54maybe even a bit thundery, particularly across parts of like Lincolnshire, maybe the East Midlands, also into East Anglia.
02:01And there is the potential that we could see some heavy showery bursts a bit further south across parts of East Anglia towards London as well.
02:07So do watch out for those. Further north, some scattered showers making their way in across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland,
02:13a few for Northern England too, but they'll be quite hit or miss.
02:16They could be a little bit heavy if you do catch any, but quite hit or miss, like I say.
02:20And so many places could really avoid them and just have some sunny spells.
02:24The best of the sunshine, though, that's likely to be towards the southwest of the UK.
02:28So across southern Wales, central southern England, a largely fine sunny day here.
02:33And with that, temperatures rising quite nicely, 24, 25 Celsius for some.
02:37So not quite as high as it was through Friday, but nonetheless feeling pretty warm in that sunshine.
02:43A little bit fresher further north.
02:45But again, if you catch any sunshine away from those showers, it's going to feel pretty warm.
02:49Just worth bearing in mind some blustery winds towards the north of the UK.
02:53As we go through a Saturday evening, many of the showers are going to fizzle out and clear away towards the east.
02:59So generally turning dry across much of England and Wales.
03:02But across Scotland and also parts of Northern Ireland, that front that I mentioned, that frontal system that's toppling over the north of that high pressure, that's going to come in.
03:12And so that's going to bring some slightly more persistent showery bursts of rain, particularly across western, northwestern parts of Scotland as we go through Saturday into Sunday.
03:21Now, it could be a little bit heavy at times.
03:23Quite widely, we're looking at around 5 to 10 millimetres.
03:25So not a huge amount, but 20 to 30 is possible in a few places.
03:30So a fair amount of rain likely to push its way in.
03:34Temperatures, again, not dropping a huge amount.
03:36Maybe a little bit fresher for some places.
03:38Some slightly fresher air behind the front that's pushing through currently.
03:42And so, yeah, temperature is a little bit lower than some recent nights, but still generally holding up in double figures.
03:47And then a look ahead to Sunday.
03:50And we need to bear in mind that high pressure trying to come in from the south.
03:53So fewer showers, perhaps, for many places.
03:56But some showery bursts are quite likely across a few areas, particularly across, well, across parts of England.
04:03Well, a few showers are quite likely.
04:05More showery bursts, though, across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
04:08And that rain that's coming in is, again, going to break up and fragment.
04:12And so it's not going to be quite as persistent.
04:14But nonetheless, some fairly heavy showery bursts are quite likely for a fair few people across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
04:20And here it is still going to be quite breezy, lighter winds further south.
04:25Temperatures, again, down a degree or so, perhaps, compared to Saturday.
04:28But still, you know, they're around average for the time of year for most of us.
04:31So it's still warm enough if you do get any brighter breaks.
04:34Perhaps coastal parts have the greatest chance of seeing some of that sunshine.
04:39Now, as we go into next week, and that high pressure is going to continue to edge its way in.
04:44So a drier picture for many on Monday.
04:47But with that high not fully dominating, it will allow for another weather system to make its way across as we go through Tuesday.
04:54So that looks set to bring some showery rain.
04:56What that happens thereafter?
04:57Well, it's definitely worth staying tuned with our forecast through the weekend to keep on top of the forecast for next week.
05:03You can do that across our YouTube and also our Spotify channels.
05:07I'll see you again soon.
05:08Bye-bye.
