00:00Hello there, a very good afternoon to you.
00:03Mixed is probably a good word to describe this weekend.
00:06A few of us have seen some bright spells this morning, but there is a reasonable amount
00:10of cloud on the scene, and we've also seen these outbreaks of patchy rain and showers
00:15steadily pushing their way eastwards.
00:17Most of them have been on the light side so far, but as we head into this afternoon, some
00:22of them could start to turn heavy.
00:24Particularly across East Anglia, other areas of eastern England, a few hefty downpours
00:28are possible, maybe with the odd rumble of thunder in there as well.
00:33Generally further towards the west, there will be a touch more sunshine developing in between
00:36the showers, and that will allow temperatures to see highs of 25, maybe locally 26 degrees
00:41Celsius for parts of the West Midlands, down towards the West Country as well.
00:45More around 19 and 20 degrees Celsius for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:50Our showers in the southeast will gradually clear as we head into the evening and overnight
00:55periods, but we are going to see more rain arriving into northwestern Scotland and eventually Northern
01:00Ireland as well.
01:02It will turn quite breezy as this system moves in later on in the night as well.
01:07For most of us though, it will be mild, temperatures holding up in double-digit figures in our towns
01:12and cities, but some rural spots could just drop into single figures, particularly if you have
01:17any clear spells around across parts of England and Wales.
01:20It is though going to be a wet and damp start to the second half of the weekend across Western
01:25Scotland.
01:26Some of that rain could be locally heavy and persistent for a time, again with the odd rumble
01:30of thunder possible.
01:32It will tend to break up into showers as we move throughout today, spreading across parts
01:36of Northern Ireland, and a few showers will also develop across England and Wales as well.
01:41More cloud around though on Sunday for the bulk of the UK, and that will hold our temperatures
01:46back a little bit more compared to those values we are seeing today.
01:50So typically around 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, but that is pretty much average for this point
01:56in the year.
01:57And whilst a few of those showers will continue into Sunday evening, the general theme is that
02:01they will begin to ease off.
02:03And particularly as we head into Monday, that is looking like a day where more of us will
02:08be able to leave the umbrellas at home.
02:10Still some cloud around, but those bright and sunny spells poking through a touch more widely,
02:15but the umbrellas are probably back out again for the middle part of the week as there is
02:18the chance of more showers to come, though perhaps not any reliable rain for our gardens
02:23or allotments at this stage.
02:25We will of course keep you up to date on everything that we can see over the next coming week, and
02:31so do subscribe to the YouTube channel for that.
02:33Otherwise, we will see you again very soon.
02:35Bye bye.
